Pre-purchase subscription questions

I carry a business iPhone with an unlimited data plan, and my company does not object to employees installing apps.  So I installed Skype on it.  I make very few personal voice calls and I am considering using Skype on this phone as *my only personal phone*.  Logically I now need to buy Skype subscriptions.  But I have a few questions:
It seems that I must buy first buy a subscription ($2.99/mo for unlimited calls to non-Skype numbers in the US and Canada).  Then, after I have the subscription and I am a subscriber I should buy a phone number ($30/year since it is 50% off for existing subscribers).  Is this correct?  Is this the right order of purchases for the lowest cost?  Do I need something else (other than credit for international calls)?
I noticed that the Skype online status of people on iPhones is constantly popping in/out, presumably because the iPhone goes dormant.  For example, my phone is right now next to me (not moving), plugged into power, with WiFi on and totally in range of service, but I show offline.  Is there a setting to make the status stay "online" all the time? 
If I have a phone number and my Skype status shows online but I get a call to that number, will it cause my iPhone to wake up when called?  Or will the call go directly to voicemail even though I was available to answer?
I could not see any human-powered support phone number, email or live chat on the whole site.  If I am using Skype as my primary voice medium, I will certainly need some kind of human-powered customer service.  Is there some?  What is it?
The subscriptions seem to be for a year and they seem to auto-renew.  Do they become monthly after the first year, or do they auto-renew for another year?  If the service fails to live up to expectations, what would I need to do to use it until the subscription is over but prevent it from auto-renewing?
Is there something else that I should consider before jumping in?

1.Yes,in order to get a discount for the Online Number you need to purchase a Skype subscription first. Discount depends on your subscription's length.

2. By default your status is set to "online" after you log in and it should not change. Skype on iPhone is stable so, perhaps there is an issue with your connection.

5. Most subscriptions is available for 1,3 or 12 months. If you sign up for a yearly subscription it will be renewed for another 12 months (if initial order is for 3 months, then package is extended for 3 months ect.)
Recurring payment can be cancelled any time from your account's page. It can be cancelled even 5 minutes after purchase. In this case, subscription will remin of course active for the whole period you paid for.

6. We offer subscriptions which allow to call landlines, mobiles or both at the same time. So I strongly recommend you to double check you are purchasing correct package.
Also- if you buy subscription which includes 60min/month to some country and you run ot of minutes- buying the same subscription will not add additional minutes. It will only extend your service for another month. If you need more minutes then get similar package (for example "Country 120min) or additional Skype Credit.

    I know it's possible if your company uses Active Directory.
    Ours uses AD, you use your AD LAN username and password to log into
    the computer, and then the same when opening Contribute. Because we
    set up the Contribute roles to use Active Directory (with the CPS),
    opening Contribute causes a prompt for username and password, so it
    knows who's currently using the software and what restrictions/role
    to impose on that person.

  • Pre-purchase Q's - Pagemaker features and font "problems"

    I am running a PB G4 17" 1.5 gig memory with B/W Postscript printers and a Brother Inkjet. I have not purchased Pages but i have been following this forum for several days.
    Two pre-purchase questions.
    I have used Pagemaker for a long, long time (my serial number is 02-201-xxxxx) going back to Mac SE's and II ci's. Pagemaker 7 will not run under 10.4.x even in classic (believe me I've tried, Adobe has tried and Apple has tried - but no luck). It will run classic under 10.3.x but I've come to the conclusion that it just ain't worth having a seperate FW start-up disk just for a decades old product.
    I used Pagemaker primarily for marketing material, white papers, proposals and other documents that are mainly text with a few charts, graphs, callouts and some simple graphics. Some of the things that I liked was the "master" page concept (that is you could format and place text/objects on the master pages and they would appear on every page), that I had complete control of how the text "flowed" on a page (over, around, through and even over a graphic if I wasn't careful), and that I could "write" different parts of the document in a word processor and then "import" the text into Pagemaker making it flow wherever I wanted, even over multiple, non-contiguous pages.
    Can I do this with Pages?
    Second, since I've never used Pages i am not sure what the font/WYSIWYG discussions are all about. It seems that Pages does not display the text in the font/size/style selected. Am I correct or am I missing something?

    To answer your last question first, I've been tempted to reply "OMG not this again!" to those who beat this old drum. It's a preconception from Appleworks and other programs, that you have to be able to run up all your fonts with the font name as a sample. Actually you can do this in Pages by piling all your fonts into a "favourites" collection; but frankly, why would you bother? Merely the font name is hardly sufficient sample to judge a font's usefulness, and if you're using fonts with any appreciation, you should really spend some time acquainting yourself with what you have before churning out fancified guff in them.
    Sorry if you're of that ilk, but Pages does serious typography. Your access to fonts is - quickly, in actual use - via the Mac OsX font panel, immediately accessible from your tool bar or from Format / Font / Show Fonts in the menu. This does have the option to view a small sample of any selected font, but more importantly has an option in the cog-wheel box at the bottom right hand corner of it to "Manage Fonts." This brings up the Font Book, which has options to display an alpha-numeric sample of your font in any size you choose, the complete repertoire of your font to see all characters it has, or a custom option into which you can enter any text you choose to give a good view of your font in use: Like Ipso Lorum, or Caesar ad sum iam for te, whatever you prefer. There is also an option to view font info, and again you can bring up an alpha-numeric sample of reasonable, but not selectable, size by just double clicking on the font in Font Book; and there are other options back in the font panel to access any special features of the font, such as ligatures or alternative glyphs.
    So anything you've heard about font deficiencies in Pages is nonsense. And Pages represents your typography, with all the right kerning details & etc on screen, as all too many programs don't. It takes a bit of detailed work, but you can also perform proper "leading" and kerning adjustment from the facilities that Pages provides. You've used what was a serious layout and publication program in Pagemaker. Pages is a new and worthy iteration of the same - for all the niggles you'll hear, that are endemic to software anyway.
    So now to your first question. Of course it won't be easy to switch from anything you probably know like the back of your own hand. But you can, and the formula for success in this is to approach the new program afresh and on its own merits, and not befuddle your understanding of it with expectations of more of the same that you're used to. Pages provides many templates that may be useful on occasion, but might also primarily suggest the scope of what Pages can do. Once you've got the picture, and explored the menus, inspector panels and help, you'll find that the blank template will allow you a freedom that I doubt you'd find excelled much anywhere else at all.
    As to the detail of that question. The answer really is that, although you will need to find new methods to do the same, you will find them readily enough to hand. I'd be inclined to recommend, though, that you first try these with new material, since reformatting a mixture of old and new will naturally enough require some fluency in the new environment to understand at a glance what needs to be done, and to recognise how to do it.
    That said, it's a curiously sometimes intuitive, and at others an inscrutable interface. Do spend some time to savvy it before you begin to commit any serious project to it. Pages does to an extent rely on your setting up a basic page layout and other details from the outset. On the other hand, it does have a powerful "undo" facility, so there's no need to be afraid of messing about with it - which will generally show you more than all the help and manuals, and even overall these forums, which are really a consensus of our meddling with it too. It's also a program in its youth, and will ask you for some indulgence: and as yet the odd workaround you shouldn't really need.
    But we don't all persevere with it for nothing. At root and core it's a beauty.

    I know the Palm Centro (my current phone) does, however I just wonder that with the Amazon MP3 store so integrated with the PRE that Palm/Sprint might not allow subscription MP3 because it may take away from Amazon MP3 sales.     Tigon's already got you covered here. But I'll chime in with some English localisation advice.
    There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
    The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
    If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
    Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
    Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

    How do I install my pre-purchased and pre-installed (on my primary desktop) Photoshop CS6 CD and Lightroom 4 CD onto my new MacBook Pro without a CD Drive? I just installed the Creative Cloud Installer per Adobe website instructions, but cannot find a link to download Photoshop or Lightroom using my Adobe ID/Password and my Product Key/Serial Number, etc.

    We are going to implement Oracle EBS r12, for industrial concern, we have following quires if any peer may suggest.
    1) we heard the oracle R12 has build new release with 11g db , is it been practical for choosing it for corporate ???
    2) Linux Read hat which version is more stable like 5 releases is compatible with R12 new release?
    3) We are also thinking for 64 bit architecture rather than 32 bit, could any one figure out the practical pros and cons for this.

  • Process of purchasing subscription reloads HTML banner in the library tab.

    Hi there!
    Finally I finished my first HTML banner for the library tab.
    I have a collection of banners with different types:
    - subscribe
    - buy/download issue
    - itunes link
    - go to another tab
    - watch video fullscreen
    etc.
    Everything works fine. Only one problem - during process of purchasing subscription my banner reloads four times:
    - after "Sign In" dialog > Use Existing Apple ID
    - before "Confirm Your Subscription" dialog
    - after confirmation (or cancelation)
    - and after "Share Your Information" dialog, there I finally got adobeDPS.receiptService.newReceiptsAvailableSignal.
    Is this normal behavior?

  • Locked out of pre purchased downloads

    No where in the agreement does it state that I have to have money in my account in order to recieve pre-purchase books and tv programs from iTunes.
    I paid for books via Audible.com but when I went to download them Itunes stated there was a problem with my credit card.  But I paid for the Audible books a number of months ago, and I also paid for the season passes on my itunes.  It is paid for!  I looked up the iTunes agreement and nothing in it states that all purchase items are ransomed until my credit card is available.

Note, however, that you aren't normally charged for a pre-order until the item is actually available, so if these pre-orders just now became available, that may be why you are now encountering difficulties if your card is no longer valid.

  • IPhone 4s - iTunes download error on pre-purchased songs

    Hi,
    I have annoying bug where I have songs stuck in the downloads section, under more... in the itunes store (iPhone app) which still show up in my song lists but don't play.
    If I open up the itunes store app I have notifications for downloads (which is pre-purchased content under my account which was bought on my macbook). When I try to download them I get an error message "Unable to Download Song,"This song" could not be downloaded at this time, DONE or RETRY.
    This isn't a massive problem cos I can manually add the LP from my mac, the bug is I have no way of canceling this proceedure on my iPhone and the songs are showing up in my songs list on my iPhone even though they haven't downloaded.
    I've cleared all the music off my iPhone using my mac and manually re-added the LP now its showing duplicate songs but the songs from the app store on my iPhone play blank (obviously cos the download isn't complete)... how the **** do I cancel these downloads and clear the blank song duplicates? any ideas? Also these don't show up anywhere when I connect my iPhone to my mac in iTunes. Is this a cloud issue?
    Any suggestions help would be fantastic.

    I had the same problem. I erased apps I no longer used and freed up some space and tada, music started to download instantly.yay!

  • Why do pre-purchased songs show up in a separate album?

    I pre-purchased an album and multiple songs were available for download early. When the album was released and the rest of the tracks were downloaded, iTunes created a separate album by the same name and artwork. How can I fix this? I want all of the tracks under one album and I think it's a little ridiculous to have to create a playlist to listen to a full album I purchased. Any help is appreciated.

    If the songs your purchased were purchased under the same Apple ID that you have currently signed on to iTunes on your computer then your purchases will show up. Click on iTunes Store, and under Music Quick Links, click on Purchased>Songs>Not in My Library. All of your past purchases that are not on your current computer will show up with the cloud next to them. Click on the individual songs to download them selectively, or click on Download All at the bottom of the screen to download all of them.
    You must be sure that:
    The Computer is Authorized to the Apple ID that you made the purchases with
    iTunes is signed on to the Apple ID that you made the purchases with
    If your songs are all in the "All" Category, but none show in the Not in My Library category, are the songs that you believe are missing showing in the All list? If not, then one of the two items above is probably not as stated.
