Premiere CC Keeps crashing after new OS X Yosemite update

After updating to the new OS X Yosemite Premiere CC has been very unstable and crashing almost hourly. Thankfully there is a recovery file but this is still frustrating and time consuming.
Has anyone else been experiencing the same problem and is there a fix?
Thanks

Hi Roland,
Mac OS X users might be subject to anomalies in the OS.
Try the following:
Sign out from Creative Cloud, restart Premiere Pro, then sign in
Update any GPU drivers
Trash preferences
Ensure Adobe preference files are set to read/write
Delete media cache
Remove plug-ins
If you have AMD GPUs, make sure CUDA is not installed
Repair permissions
In Sequence Settings > Video Previews, change the codec to one that matches your footage
Disconnect any third party hardware
If you have a CUDA GPU, ensure that the Mercury Playback Engine is set to CUDA, not OpenCL
Disable App Nap
Reboot
Report back if anything here worked for you.
Thanks,
Kevin

  • Why do all my programs keep crashing after the most recent apple update?

Everything keeps crashing after i made an update on saturday. Anyone else having this issue, anyone know of any solutions. Safari, Chrome, all adobe products keep crashing. Very frustrating as today is a work day and have not been able to get anything done. I've lost a whole day of work and am really hoping for a solution so my whole week is not lost.

Have you got any programs which modify the OS, such as haxies and those fancy utilities? If so, you could delete them, preferably using the uninstaller provided by the supplier. Also, any out-of-date hardware which might be upsetting Lion?
If that fails, erase your hard drive and re-install Lion (which will be a clean install). Or erase and revert to SnowLeopard or earlier and wait for Lion to settle down.
However, for people running a business (you mention "work") it would be safer to install a new OS on to an external Firewire or USB HD and see how it goes. If it does not work, you can revert to your earlier setup. (If you can revert to an earlier workable OS, you could do that as well.)

  • Premiere pro keeps crashing after importing files

I've been trying to import the sample bald eagle file you supply to help learn with this new Premiere editing program, and am trying to use the sample file (which didn't include audio btw), but every time try to import them, your program (Premiere Pro CC) keeps crashing on me.

  • Adobe Premiere CS6 Keeps Crashing After iTunes Update!

I updated to iTunes 11, and that is only thing that I can think of that has changed on my system, and now when I try to export anything in Premiere, my whole computer freezes after getting a glitchy repeating sound to the speakers...I am forced to pull the plug on the machine....It does this with any sequence, and its always about halfway through the export...Anything you can think of?!?!?  Thanks!

    Welcome to the forum.
    [Soapbox Mode ON]
I find that iTunes (and its companion Apple's QT Player) can cause all sorts of problems, and one is that there are a bunch of other "things," that get loaded, which will launch at bootup - mainly "helper" applications for iTunes, and those are unnecessary for general computing, plus steal many CPU cycles, and resources, when one is editing Video. I just go into MSCONFIG and turn those "helpers" OFF, then reboot. The only one that I found necessary was Bonjour Services, which was also needed by my font manager, on my workstation. I could turn it (plus others) OFF on my laptop.
QT Player can also "seize" many File Associations, for itself, and that messes things up for other programs. It has gotten a bit more benign, from its earlier rogue behavior, where, by default, it just set all File Associations for itself - even ones that it could never work with, like DOC, etc.. Better, but still not perfect.
That is why I always hesitate to update iTunes, on my laptop, and when I do, I always do a System Restore Point, for before the update. Also, I find that most updates to iTunes adds more "glitz" to the GUI, but removes useful features. I am about 6 updates behind, and wish that I had not done the last one, that I did. Though I have not had any issues (still turned OFF most of the "stuff"), the GUI is now less useful to me, than the previous one was. Should have tested, and then used my System Restore Point.
Not sure if it's as bad on the Mac side-of-the-street, but for the PC, I feel that Apple just adds a bell, a whistle, and a little dog in a tu-tu, doing useless tricks, while they remove three good features.
    [Soapbox Mode OFF]
If you do have a System Restore Point, from before that update, just do another, for today, then boot to Safe Mode, choosing to use that earlier System Restore Point, reboot when told to do so, then test. At the worst, all you have lost is a bit of time, as you have today's System Restore Point to go to, if things do not improve.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • My iTunes keeps crashing after new version installation

I was wondering if there is any way to revert to what I had yesterday? The program will open, and I will start to play a song, but about 5-30 seconds into it, the song will skip out and then the program crashes.
Thanks for your time and help!

    Hi Bridgie!
It appears that you have an iTunes plug-in called iConcertCal installed on your system...please remove it and let's see if the crashing stops!
The plugins are in Users> home folder>Library> iTunes> plugins.
    Let us know the results!
    Dana

  • Premiere Pro keeps crashing when using overwrite (.) shortcut in Source Monitor

When editing a clip in the source monitor and then using the (.) key to overwrite the clip onto my timeline Premiere Pro keeps crashing. If I select the Timeline window and then press the (.) key it works fine, but if the Source Monitor is highlighted and I press (.) it crashes every time and shows these windows:
Premiere Pro has encountered an error.
    [/Volumes/BuildDisk/builds/mightykilt/shared/
    adobe/Mediacore/Backened/Make/Mac/../../Src/
    Sequence/LinkContainer.cpp-184]
    and then opens this one:
    Adobe Premiere Pro
Sorry, a serious error has occured that requires
Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to
    save your current project.
It saves my current project as a copy, which is good, but I've now ended up with lots of copies of the same project as it keeps on crashing. In order to work I have to make sure that the Timeline is highlighted before I use the shortcut. It makes for very precarious and tense editing!

I'm using a MacBookPro 15", OS X 10.8.4 and editing footage filmed at 24fps 1920x1080 on my Canon 550D/T2i. All .MOV files.
I purchased my software from iSoftware.co.uk. I'm worried that could be the problem.
Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.
    Sam

A crash with a very similar error message was fixed in the new CC release. The bug report in that case involved creating a multi-cam sequence, so it might not be directly related.
If you have a chance to download the CC trial, we'd be interested to know whether the crash remains in the new version.

  • Premiere pro keeps crashing

    Hi,
I am using Premiere pro and lately it keeps crashing every 10-15 minutes.  I have closed all programs and am only running Premiere pro.  I check the activity monitor and it looks like the inactive memory keeps increasing.  I have searched for this on the web and found I can "purge" it from the command line.  Still premiere pro keeps crashing.  This is very frustrating.  I cannot keep working like this.
I have a Mac OS version 10.8.5.  2.2 GHz Intel Core i7.  Memory is 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.  Startup Disk is Macintosh HD.
I have no idea what is causing this.  It seems to be random, but I think it happens often when I am playing the video after making some modifications to the timeline (e.g., changing zoom, audio, etc.).
    Thanks.

you may want to try switching the renderer to software only if its not already. this is an option when creating a new project, or from the menu, project settings.

  • My iPhoto keeps crashing after installing the latest update, can't do anything!

My iPhoto keeps crashing after installing the latest update, can't do anything! It used to crash when importing but now I'm at the point where I open the software and after 2 seconds it crashes (nothing connected either). What to do? Can't access any photos

Try this:  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If you can create a new library and import some test photos then the problem lies with your original library.
If that's the case make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
If iPhoto crashes while trying to create a new library then try this:
Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
If that fails to help a reinstall of iPhoto is indicated. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/  folder,
Then install iPhoto from the disk it came on originally and apply all relavant updaters.
P.S.  If you're still running Tiger, 10.4.6, then the above may not apply.  If you're running a newer system you should update your profile so we have a better idea of where you're at.

  • 4G iPod touch KEEPS CRASHING AFTER 6.1.3 UPDATE

Okay, so I live in an area with rural internet. Because of this I have only just downloaded the 6.1.3 iOS update this week for my 4G iPod touch. I have only just discovered how bad an idea that was.
Safari crashes every half-minute, the iPod is now INCREDIBLY slow, Twitter, YouTube and almost every app I have keeps crashing after a minute or so...
I have gone over all the 'fixes' that google has presented to me.
Clearing the multitasking bar doesn't change jack and I can't roll back my iPod to the backup on iTunes because I just got a new computer. And the first thing I did was move all my music over and SYNC THE IPOD AFTER IT HAD BEEN UPDATED.
So what am I supposed to do? My iPod is USELESS to me now as an internet-capable device OR music player, and no matter where I look the only help anyone can offer is "Apple doesn't support downgrading"???
So Apple updates the OS with a faulty patch and I have to deal with the failure?
Is there anyone who can actually HELP me? What do I do? Jailbreak the **** thing? I've never jailbroken anything before, but surely it can't render my iPod any more useless than it already is! It's not like the thing is covered under warranty anymore! (Really convinient, that...)
Can some please help me get my iPod WORKING again?! I paid $300 dollars for a music player with internet access, not a paperweight!
Either way, I'm officially done with Apple devices after this nonsense. I hear Galaxy Tabs actually work! Imagine!

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Try finding  MSVCR110.dll  file on internet and replace it in the path C:\Windows\system32\MSVCR110.dll
    hopefully it works...
