When I hit continue the rendering doesn't move forward and I have to cancel the process.
Does anyone has a clue what could be wrong???

    Hi,
I am using Final Cut Pro 7 and I was given DSLR footage that is Pro Res 422. When I scrub in either the Canvas Window or the Timeline, it's jumpy. It's not smooth at all. Can I fix this? If so, How?

  • Why Does Premiere CS6 Render AVCHD?

    CS6 Production Premium Suite
    Win7x64
    Canon XA10
I shoot a continuous one hour talk.
Using Windows Explorer, I copy the BDMV folder from the XA10 to my project folder.
Using the Media Browser, I import the clip (which consists of multiple MTS files).
On the imported clip, I use "New Sequence From Clip".
I do not edit the sequence.
I then "Render Entire Work Area".
    The rendering takes awhile. Why?
I thought Premiere edits AVCHD as native so it should not have to render if no edits occur.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Need to setup Premiere CS6 sequence for two file types with different field orders

I have a client who has shot video for me using two cameras, one camera was set to progressive, and the other to interlaced upper field first. I need to use both file types in the edit and have been struggling to set up the sequence to get the best look for the end product, a DVD. I have several videos to do for her that were all shot in the same way, so I need a solution!
I would appreciate help figuring out how to set up this work flow from beginning to end.
Should I convert one of the files from the beginning so they match field orders before going into a sequence? Or do I just need to do some adjusting of the files once they are in the sequence? Is it just as simple as changing the transcode settings to favor the upper field first? I'm definitely having issues once the video is transcoded in Encore and you can see a lot of jagged edges and lines especially during movement. My client isn't happy and I've tried several workarounds, but to no avail.
Here are the two file types I have:
    File extension: .MOV
    H.264, 1920x1080, Linear PCM, 16 bit little-endian signed integer, 48000 Hz, stereo
    FPS 29.97
    No Fields: Progressive Scan
File extension: .MTS (my Mac finder can't read these files, but they are read in Premiere)
    Image Size: 1920 x 1080
    Frame Rate: 29.97
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - compressed - 6 channels
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.0
    Upper Field First
I am using Adobe Premiere CS 6.0.2
    Encore 6.0.1
    Media Encoder 6.0.2.81
I am running it on an iMac 27-inch, Mid 2011
with Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5
Processor  3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
Graphics  AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1024 MB
I've just been setting the sequence to match the .MOV files since they look much better than the .MTS files. I've done the opposite as well, setting the sequence to match the .MTS files and it doesn't seem to help. I've also changed the field order of the files once they are in the sequence by changing the field options and have tried converting the .MTS files in the Media Encoder, but nothing I've done has worked.
Any help would be so appreciated! The client I have is a photographer, so she wasn't aware of this issue when she first shot these videos. So I have 10 videos with these issues I need to get back to her, hopefully issue free! I'm struggling as an editor because my last job I was using FCP and was working with videographers who knew what they were doing, so I've never faced such problems before. Plus I'm new to the Adobe software. Not a good combination. Please forgive me if I didn't give all the information you need. I will happily respond with whatever more information you may need to help me out!

I wonder if you could do your edit ignoring any visual issues of the interlaced footage but keeping the different sources separate ( checkerboard edit Vid 1/ Vid 2 )
Lock it down then export the interlaced part of the edit as a Digital Intermediate.
Maybe Export the other source as well to the same codec. DI
Bring them back together in a New Sequence. You wold have to deal with the black spacing.

  • Import Premiere Pro Sequence Problems

Hello, I am new to using CS for video editing so forgive me if this seems very basic.
What I am trying to do, is bring a sequence from Premiere Pro into After Effects so that I can jazz it up with some compositing and effets etc.  I went to File>Dynamic Link and imported my premiere sequence.  It shows up in my project panel, and double clickign it I can view it as normal.  But when I try to drag it into my timeline panel to make a comp, nothing happens.  I have tried draging it to the "create new comp" button within the project panel, and all it does is create an empty comp.  Am I doing something wrong?  I am using Mac OS X 10.7.2

I think you're going about this all wrong. If you go to Adobe Dynamic Link and pick Import Premiere Pro Sequence you get a movie not a composition.
    I don't think that's what you want.
If you go to File>Import>Premiere Pro Project you get all of the footage, the bins, and either all of the sequences as compositions or a selected sequence as a composition. Only cross dissolves and cuts come across but the AE project can quickly become unmanageable if there are lots of cuts. I cut a feature film last year in Premiere Pro and there were just a little over 3000 edits. Can you imagine working on a comp with 3000 layers???
    The project looks like this:
The only difference between importing a movie and importing a Premiere Pro Project using dynamic link is that you can go back into Premiere Pro and re-edit the movie, then bounce back into AE and see the edits without rendering the Premiere Pro sequence. It's not at all useful to do what you describe in your original question. I didn't read carefully when I posted the first answer.
My usual workflow, in fact the workflow used in the project I'm showing here, is to go to one or a few of the shots I'm working on in Premiere Pro, select them then right click on the selected shots and choose Replace with After Effects Composition. This enables AE, allows me to concentrate on the sequence that needs the work in AE, keeps my AE projects very manageable, and lets me work faster and more efficiently. This runway show First Cut had about 15 effects shots, each requiring only about 3 or 4 layers. If I had imported the entire PPro project I would have had about 500 layers to sort out and the comp would have been completely unmanageable.

  • Premiere CS6 not running smoothly.

Alright all, I'm stumped.  I was running Premiere CS6 via the Cloud membership, everything was going perfectly, I had started new projects and even transferred one over I was using in CS5.5 and had no problems.  Then suddenly, my CS6 is not running smoothly.  The footage lags, the timecode for the timeline isn't smooth, and the program in general is a little rough.  But the sound plays perfect with any footage in the timeline.  I pull the same footage back in 5.5 and it works flawlessly.  Cleaned the Cache, deleted and reinstalled CS6 and ran all updates, still having the same problem.  Any ideas?

My 3 hard drives for AVCHD video editing are configured as...
    1 - 320Gig Boot for Win7 64bit Pro and ALL program installs (2)
2 - 320Gig data for Win7 paging swap file and video project files
When I create a project on #2 drive, the various work files follow,
so my boot drive is not used for the media cache folders and files
3 - 1Terabyte data for all video files... input & output files (1)
    (1) for faster input/output with 4 drives
    - use drive 3 for all source files
    - use drive 4 for all output files

You are a music conductor, with a baton that you use to point to various parts of the orchestra... this is like Windows pointing to various parts of the hard drive to do Windows housekeeping or to load program segments for various functions
Now, at the same time and with the same hand... while still using the baton to conduct the orchestra... pick up a bow and play a fiddle... this would be doing something with your video file at the same time as all the other work
You as a person cannot do both at the same time with the same hand
A computer is a LITTLE better, in that it can switch from one kind of task to another very quickly... but not quickly enough for EASY video editing
You need AT LEAST two hard drives (separate drives, never a partition http://forums.adobe.com/thread/650708 for more) with Windows (or Mac OS) and software on your boot drive, and video files on a 2nd drive so the boot drive is not slowed down by trying to do everything

  • After Effects CS5.5 will not open a Dynamically Linked Premiere Pro sequence in the comp. window

    Hi all,
I'm trying to export a Premiere Pro sequence which is in 2K and the footage has been shot as RED 5K. Adobe Media Encoder will simply not work as I am having the quite widely discussed issue where it will just 'hang' at certain points and not complete the export.
The most popular solution to this problem is to export via the Render Queue in After Effects instead. However, therein lies the problem.
I go onto After Effects. Choose File -> Dynamic Link -> Import Premiere Pro Sequence.
The box pops up, I choose the Premiere Pro Project File then select the sequence I want to export. It then appears in the After Effects project panel window like so:
However - when I try and drag this to a new composition window, one of two things have happened. Either A) nothing happens (literally, NOTHING changes) or B) as the following example shows, it seems to add it to a new composition, but the video is entirely black. I have tried rendering it and it just produces a black video.
The other thing people seem to suggest is to just import the entire Premiere Pro sequence into After Effects. I've tried this, but any titles I have added in PP force the video to fade out then back in, in the place where the title should be?? So I can't export the video this way either.
    My system is as follows:
Thanks massively in advance for any help that is provided!

This is months old but I'm now having the same problem with AE and Premiere CS6 after updating last night: Dynamic linked sequence shows up in the project window in AE and even plays video if previewed, but will not drag or alt-drag into any comps, including a new comp (makes a new comp with matching settings, but empty).
Furthermore, I do actually have an earlier version of the same sequence placed in one of my AE comps, which I think was done using the same steps just prior to updating the apps last night. Did this break?
I'm a little concerned since the biggest reason I'm trying to use premiere is to eliminate the exports when adding graphics in AE.

    Hi,
Thanks for posting that screenshot. It appears that you have opened your Sequence Settings for a DV-NTSC sequence and have made a circle around the "Edit Settings" button.
Since you chose to create a DV sequence, you cannot change those settings.
Do you have DV NTSC clips? If so, these are the correct settings.
If you do not have DV NTSC clips, do not be concerned. Just create the sequence.
Once you drag a non-DV clip into the DV sequence, it's OK.
You have the option of changing the Sequence Settings to match those of your clip in a new dialog box.
Click "Change Sequence Settings" in the dialog box.
    I hope that helps.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • Premiere CS6 not supporting AVC-G25/50P will there be an update for that?

    Good morning Adobe,
I own a Panasonic AJ-PX270 with the P2 content format. I filmed using the AVC-G25/50P format, but that is not supported when i want to import the file structure into my Premiere CS6 it gives me a standard error.
Does anyone know what file format i have to use in my sequence to get this imported?
Will there be an update for this?
I have also asked Panasonic to provide me a solution, haven't heard from them.
Perhaps someone knows how i can convert the files into another file format outside of premiere?
    thank you very much!
    Ruud van den Einden

Yes, it's Java update 16 for Mac OS 10.6 that broke lots of stuff.  The 51 comes from it updating Java to 1.6_51.  There is an update to the update for 10.7 and up posted, but is there one for 10.6?
UPDATE:  Never mind.  If you go to the download page for Java update 16, it appears that it has been silently updated.  Although there isn't any indication of the fact that it has been fixed, the build number is different (20.51-b01-457 instead of -456).

  • Video tracks disappear when changing between sequences in premiere CS6

Dear people, can you please help me find out why video tracks disappear when changing between sequences in premiere CS6.
All it shows is the audio track and it is maximized to the first frame of the sequence. Video tracks are there but hidden - although video IS showing up in the program monitor.
When I pull the tracks down in the timeline window using the dividing line between the video and audio tracks and set the sequence work area back it works fine, however it is a great annoyance having to do this every time when i swap between sequences.
Can anybody please suggest a solution to this?
    I'd appreciate any help.
    MD

This is the audio tracks problem i cannot overcome:
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1586025
(basically every type of audio i drop/place onto the timeline becomes left channel only, regardless of it being music or camera-recorded audio.
In the source monitor everything plays back just fine, but when placed to the timeline - it becomes LEFT only.
Weird.... (or am I and not it)

  • Exporting CS6 Premiere Pro Sequence in AE

I'm trying to export a CS6 Premiere Pro sequence through CS6 After Effects and some of the content that is present on my timeline is coming up with colour bars or just black when I'm trying to export from AE..... how can this be resolved?

    Thanks for your help Rick!
I'm working on a 2008 Mac Pro with Dual Quad Core 2.8Mhz Processors and 32GB RAM.
The sequence is .r3d 4K FF and the footage on the timeline is a mix of 4K FF r3d footage, some Animation codec (graphics from Cinema 4D exported via After Effects), some up-scaled 1080p and some 5k FF r3d footage.
The strange thing is that when I play the timeline in Premiere it all works fine but when I try to export the sequence in AE, that's when content shows up as colour bars or just black. It's all there though. I've tried disconnecting the media and reconnecting it, I've copied and pasted it to a new timeline, I've nested it as a sequence and tried exporting that but each time it's the same result.
I was thinking that I should uninstall CS6 and then try and reinstall it, but my Mac Pro I'm working off isn't connected online. I'd have to relocate the tower to where the internet modem is and I currently have a broken leg so it's not really possible.
Any other suggestions for getting this to work?

  • Premiere CS6 not playing Cineform files

I'm having some problems in a cineform based project. I am just using stock Premiere CS6 and have Cineform Studio premium installed. I use a 2008 mac Pro, 24gb RAM, stock cheapest nvidia card (not CUDA compatible), with Lion installed. I think that my sequence settings are set to DSLR quality matching the resolution of the cineform files. There is a chance that they are Desktop sequences though. I started this project a while back on CS5 and made my sequences there.
The problem is that 2 out of 3 times that I open Premiere, the timeline clip thumbnails dont draw and when I playback the program monitor is black. Audio is playing back ok, but the cineform clips on the timeline dont work. If I try to open a clip in the source monitor, it updates the file in the project bin to show "Media offline". The media is definitely there and in the Premiere is linking to. If I try to close Premiere after experiencing the above it won't close and I have to force close it. Only a system reboot will make Premiere open correctly after that.
There are times when the project opens just fine though. I can't see a pattern. If it were a Cineform problem then I wouldnt expect Premiere to be crashing like it is. That is why I am reporting it here.

My apologies ODANO. I admire you wanting to help others out
I spent an hour on the phone trouble shooting this problem with the programmers about 8 months ago. They assured me they would fix it and get back in touch with me. They never fixed it and never got back in touch with me. I had to contact them and complain about the problem a second time 8 moths later  and they just have ignored the situation completely. They are a very amateur operation which has now been absorbed into Go Pro. I advise any serious professionals to avoid Cineform and use DNxHD.
My frustration with Cineform in no way reflects upon you. Have a good day

  • Premiere CS6 not exporting to ME6 Queue

I've had nothing but success with Premiere Pro CS6, but the ability to Queue up videos to Media Encoder CS6 suddenly stopped functioning (nothing happened that I'm aware of). I'm able to Export just fine from Premiere and can add manually to ME, but cannot export to the queue list.
This happens after reboot, with different video files, and when the renderings are deleted or not. MECS6 will open, but just sit there. Any ideas of what would be going on?

To import a sequence into AME with PPRO closed, open an OS file browser and go to the path where your pproj is saved. Drag and drop that file into AME (either onto a preset in the Preset Browser or directly into the Queue). You can also select "Add Premiere Pro Sequence" in the File Menu and then browse to your project. Regardless of which path you go down, AME will bring up dialog that shows you all the sequences within the project.
I expect that importing through one of these workflows will yield the same results as dragging and dropping a sequence from PPRO to AME. All of these methods work directly with the original project file, whereas the normal workflow of exporting from PPRO (File>Export>Media) saves a temporary copy of the sequence at the instance you export.
Note that in our experience, all of these export workflows add the job to AME in a matter of a few seconds, so we did see a need for a progress dialog. Clearly in your case something is significantly bogging down the process. Perhaps project size or complexity, effects & color grading, some I/O bottleneck.... The fact that drag-and-drop is, what, five times faster makes me suspect that an I/O problem (something like a badly fragmented disc where the snapshot of the sequence is being saved) is at least part of the equation, but that doesn't explain why drag-and-drop still takes over a minute.
Can you check RAM and CPU usage before and during export to see if either resource is getting pegged?
Also, what drives do you have your project on and are you encoding to? Are you using a solid state drive? An external drive? Working across a network? Do you have antivirus software running?
Another possible culprit is conforming audio. I'm not sure what the best way is to check if that's happening other than watching your media cache folder to see if new files are being written.
