Premiere Elements 9 for Mac won't let me burn a DVD w. menus to DVD

So I am trying to burn a DVD with menus for a clinet. I am pretty new to all of this video editing stuff. I am a photographer that has now branced out.
I am following all of the instructions in the Classroom in a Book but I noticed a couple of things. I do not have the compression option that is shown in the dialogue box where it sets up your burn process.
Now all the encoding goes fine, but when it does get all the way to the end I get the message "internal software error" and then a bunch of mumbo jumbo that it doesn't let me see everything...
I am at a loss of why it is doing this.
I am using a 2006 MacBook Pro with a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB memory 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
I am also running on the most up to date opearting system with Snow Leapord and the computer is completely up to date.
Any help that can be given is very much appreciated.

Oh believe me I keep waaaayyyy more then 50 gigs on my hard drive! As I said I am a professional Photographer so working with computers and all of the software comes easy to me generally speaking. The reasons why this is spitting my discs back at me is baffling.
The red lines only showed up once I started editing the clips because they are some of the clips that I edited, and not on the ones that I left alone because they needed no work done.
The files came in mostly off a Canon 1Ti.
As I said also, I have been follwoing the insturctions in the Clasroom in a book almost to the letter except for the one setting that it said to check off that I did not have that I could not figure out why.
This is the Quality: Fit Contents to available space part of it underneath the status and the presets!
I am truly baffeled and may burn it to my hard drive and then copy it to a disc which it says is also an option.

  • Premiere Elements 9 for Mac export help

Hey, I made a video on Premiere Elements 9 for Mac and it won't let me export it. The export option under "File" is blocked and won't let me click on it. Any way for me to export this thing, because I kind of need this video.

I think you must have had a long day Steve - as it says in your book (page 274) you can select the clip in the Organize Project pane and then use File> Export> Title to save it out as a .prtl file. It does however seem that the option to select the Title in the Timeline, and then use Export, has been removed.
[EDIT] I've only just noticed the question relates to the Mac version, so it may well be that there are no Title exports for Mac [/EDIT]

  • Can you do Green Screen/Blue Screen/Chroma Key on Adobe Premiere Elements 12 for mac?

Can you do Green Screen/Blue Screen/Chroma Key on Adobe Premiere Elements 12 for mac?  If not, what are the alternatives?

    JimbobT
ChromaKey, GreenScreen Key, and BlueScreen Key are not included in Premiere Elements Mac.
Some suggest Videomerge as the alternative. I do not. But Videomerge is not THE alternative.
Instead, I prefer the Difference Matte as a substitute for the 3 absent keying effects. Please check out my blog post on that which includes
    the how to.
    http://atr935.blogspot.com/2013/05/pe11-difference-matte-as-substitute-for.html
The suggestion has met with good results according to the feedback that I have gotten to this.
I am strictly a Premiere Elements Windows user who does not prefer Videomerge even in Windows.
Please review, consider, and let us know the outcome.

  • Why does my Premiere Elements 10 for mac freeze?

Why does my Premiere Elements 10 for mac freeze (makes spinning circle loading) and doesn't stop when I am asked to select my country/region? I already had trouble downloading it originally because there was an error downloading, and then the following image happens (note: the screenshot couldn't capture the spinning circle freeze, but just look at the "application not responding" message below):
Why does this happen? I downloaded and opened photoshop elements 10 (that came with the bundle) fine, but I can't open this.
For reference, I am using a mac book pro from 2012 that is 64bit on OS X 10.8.5.
Edit: Also, for the aforementioned error that I was getting earlier when installing, I would try to install and then half way through it said that the download failed. I had to follow the second method to fix in this link:

I do not think we are in sync yet, but I will need to sign off soon. It is about 1 am where I am.
    1. Not sure what you mean by 2 warranty licenses that the CD comes ith in the package.
If you purchased the Premiere Elements 10 Mac in boxed packaging, then you should have an installation disc and a purchased serial number. You cannot lose that. You can install and reinstall the program when you need to do so. There is no limit on uninstalling or reinstalling. The only limit is Adobe allows you to have your purchased serial number on no more than 2 of your computers. We can talk about it some more if necessary but there is a distinction between Deactivate and Uninstall. There has not been a limit on Deactivations in years.
Another approach if you think your installation files or disc is corrupt is to download tryout files from the following web site and then install from them and insert you purchased serial number at installation.
    http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-10-direct-download-links-pse-premiere-pre.htm l
You have to read the Note: Very Important Instructions very carefully otherwise you end up with Access Denied.
If you think that we are now in sync, then I would suggest
    a. Delete the preference file (settings file)
    or
    b. Deactivate, uninstall, ccleaner run through, reinstall as per your instructions that worked for you.
I will be watching for further details in the morning. Hopefully some of the Premiere Elements Mac users will join the thread to give the Mac perspective to the situation.
    Thanks.

  • Premiere elements 10 for mac

I plan to download premiere elements 10 for Mac. I am currently running a project in elements 9.
    1. Can I complete my project in 9 or will there be a conflict with 10 sitting there?
    2. Does 10 for Mac have chroma key now?
    3. I have read about installation issues with the Mac version. Are these resolved now?
    Thanks

Installing version 10 on your computer will have absolutely no effect on version 9. They work in parallel.
And, no, Chroma Key has still not been added to the Mac version. The same effects and transitions that weren't include in Mac version 9 are omitted in version 10 also.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/729803?tstart=0
As I say in my books, however, the Videomerge effect does an excellent job doing the job usually done by Chroma Key.

  • Elements 8 for Mac won't launch

I just installed this program and it won't launch when double click the icon. This is a brand new laptop so the sys are current. Any ideas?

    Barbara,
Thanks for the help, but I'm embarrassed to say that my problem was the fact I was double clicking on the icon instead of single clicking. I've only had this machine a couple weeks and old habits are hard to break.

Then I would do this. Uninstall it (there's a link to the uninstaller in the PSE 8 application folder), and then create a new admin user (system preferences>accounts), log into that user and run the install from there. Be sure to repair permissions afterwards. If all is well in the new account you can log back into your existing account and delete the new one.

  • Why on Premiere Elements 9 for Mac Unexpectly Quits when previewing edit?

Former Dell Windows XP PC user with new MacBook Pro OS X 10.6.5 with 2.53 GHz Intel iCore 5
Using Adobe Premiere Elements 9 for the Mac.
Experience: Premiere Elements 2, 4, 6, 7 on Windows based PC
First video editing experience on MacBook Pro using PSE9 so far consisting of 3 still pictures with titles and transitions.
The 3 still photos ran fine with no titles and no fades and no transitions.
When I add a title wth a fade in OR add a transition between photo clips and try to preview the edit without rendering the work area, The application suddenly quits with the message (see attached error message photo): Adobe Premiere Elements 9 quit unespectedly.
The Problem details and System Configuration runs hundreds of lines.
When I click the Reopen button, it doesn't work -- all I get is a white screen.
When I click OK, I get a Crash Report for Adobe Premiere Elements 9  window (see attached error message photo)
If I render the work area before previewing, the "unexpected quit" problem goes away.  So that is a solution but it is a "work around" solution.
    Attempts to solve problem:
Contacted Adobe support person via telephone named Jolly in India.  He connected to my computer so that he could see my screen.  His solution was to download an available update for  APSE9 and the first Preview run worked flawlessly.  So we hung up the phone.
Then I did one "cross disolve" transition and Bing !! ASPE9 unexpectedly quit !!
Any ideas at all?  NOTE:  This 70 yr old "didn't grow up with computers" is still on learning curve for using the Mac.
    Thanks in advance,  David (DRthiess)

Thank you Bill H. and Steve G. for your prompt reply and suggestions.
Bill, I started this project of editing the video from my son's, (the coach) boy's team winning the state Cross-Country championship back on Monday (now Thursday 12/2) with the intent of having it finished by the time I see him on Sat.  I'm running out of time to do extensive research and will have to use my "work arounds" the problem, namely rendering the work area before previewing an EDIT (and maybe even "sharing" small segments as a .mov file to my hard drive without previewing and then putting the segments together and later researching a fix.
Note Bill that when APrE9 first quits, I do get "details" that run hundreds of lines -- which mean nothing to this 70 yr. old mind.  I do submit reports into, is it APPLE? or is it ADOBE? that gets the reports.  And what does the "receiver" do with the reports anyway?
Steve.  The camera is a Sony DV camcorder (tape) but I haven't gotten to the video yet.  I started the video editing with 3 jpeg still photo and was trying to overlay them with titles with some fade in's and fade out's and Cross dissolve transitions.  So I haven't even dragged the action video to the time line yet.
NOTE: I have installed Parallels 6 and Windows 7 on my Mac and my Adobe premiere elements 9 (just purchased) came with both a Mac installation DVD and a Windows installation DVD.  The Adobe tech support said that I could try the Windows version when Windows 7 is up and running on my computer but that Adobe would not support that platform because as he said:  Window 7 on the Mac doesn't operate the same as Windows 7 on a PC.  News to me as I thought that by installing Windows 7 on my Mac, I would get the identical Windows environment with no conflicts.  Perhaps I was expecting too much.
Thanks again.  I'll report back when I get it solved or if I need more help.

  • Dvd Menu Adobe Premiere Elements 10 for Mac with bad resolution

    Hi, I use a MacBookPro with Mac OS X 10.6.8 - Intel Core i5 2,4 GH - RAM 4 GB.
I just purchased PRE 10 version hoping to solve a problem I had with version 9 for Mac but not with a version 7 for Win.
    I
My problem is that when I burn the dvd with the final work in PAL system, the menu of the DVD has the text very blurred at a very bad resolution.
I searched this forum and I didn't found a similar problem for Mac user.
I had the same problem with PRE 9.
Same problem if I insert a logo in the corner of the video. Very bad resolution image in the final dvd.
I tried to change the beginning resolution of the image from very low to very high and the result was the same.
Someone has similar problems? Someone did find a way to solve it?

Dear Bill, many thanks for your answer.
This is the Project Preset chosen.
As the source is a JVC Everio with hard disk, I chose PAL - Hard Disk - Widescreen 48 KHz
The source is as I said a JVC Everio in SD size. I saved the files in a backup Hard Disk. They are .mod files.
I don't know how to see if a Menu Sets is HD or SD. I tried almost all the available Menu Sets always with the same blurry results.
These images explain better than words.
Note that the firt image in the DVD Menu is perfect, not blurry. And this add a little bit of mystery :-)
this is the scene selection that has text blurry
And this is the logo I put in the right bottom side of the video. It is blurry. I put a high resolution image and it was blurry. Then I tried with an image .png with the same width of the video (720 pixels) and this is the same blurry effect:
The solution I use in these days to have goog results is very time expensive.
I make the editing work in my mac, without logo and menu. I make a dvd. Then I import the VIDEO_TS folder in my old pc, with my old version of Adobe Premiere 7.0. I insert the logo, I make the menu and then I make a dvd with my old PC and the resolution is the one I want.
Obviolusly I'd like to do all the work in my Mac...
The same problems and solution I used also with PRE 9.0
By the way, I'm using Adobe Premiere Elements in my Mac instead  iMovie because I need to do videos longer than 2 hours. And iMovie has this limit.
Many thanks in advance for help. There is someone that is using Mac and PRE 10 with GOOD results?

  • Downloading the trail version of Premiere Elements 10 for Mac on my Windows PC

How can I download Premiere Elements 10 for the Mac on my PC?  I have a very fast connection on my PC and would like to install Premiere on my Mac.  Why do we need the download manager and why do I need to install excessive Adobe software when trying to get the trial version download?

The Adobe Download Assistant is a small, lightweight application used with Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop Elements, and Adobe Premiere Elements trial product downloads to improve download reliability. After the trial software is downloaded, Adobe Download Assistant automatically starts the product installation.
The application size is in KB.

  • Where is the green screen keying effect in Premiere Elements 12 for Mac?

I have installed Premiere Elements 12 on My Mac, and I can't find the green screen keying effect in the efx window. Is this only available in the Windows version, or is it somewhere else in this version?

    mgeiser
Premiere Elements 12 Mac does not come with ChromaKey, GreenScreen Key, or BlueScreen Key.
Videomerge is not a renaming of GreenScreen Key. It is just a substitute suggested by some for ChromaKey, GreenScreen Key, or BlueScreen Key that are not included in Premiere Elements 12 Mac.
If you want a substitute for ChromaKey, GreenScreen Key, or BlueScreen Key, I would suggest that you look at the Difference Matte under fx Effects/Keying/.
Please check out my how to on that.
    http://www.atr935.blogspot.com/2013/05/pe11-difference-matte-as-substitute-for.html
It has gotten a lot of good feedback from Premiere Elements Mac users.
Please let us know the outcome.
    Thank you.

  • Premiere Elements 9 for Mac is dropping the ball...

I was a bit disappointed after shelling out the money for the new Mac version of Premiere Elements (9.0) only to find out that it did not provide Green screen and chromakey features in its editing suite as did its PC predecessor in version 8.  Never mind, I resolved, the Videomerge feature does a passable job of greenscreening so I soldiered.
Comes the next round of disappointments--this time being that a project of 2 minutes 43 seconds with two video tracks -- one background and one greenscreened "action"--and one title track on the third video level--does not export or "share" into any of the available video formats available when it comes time to compile my project into a finished clip.
Instead of getting the same cropped and 3D'd background video images that appear on the editing screen on my Mac, my finished clips end up with skewed crop edges that bear no resemblance to the edit screen.  Needless to say, that makes a total waste of all the fine tuning I did in the video editing dept. using all of the promising (but not, apparently, delivering) features like 3D Basic and Crop and Videomerge to make a truly professional looking finished product.
After spending the better part of the day trying to sort it out, I notice from a quick browser search that Adobe has just issued a patch or fix for "stability" and other "bug fixes" that were apparently not figured out in time to prevent the product from being released in its then imperfect form.
I am using a brand new iMac and memory is not my issue (at least, not according to the specs I checked before plunking down my money back when the product was released.
Anyone have any constructive suggestions on how to overcome the apparent lost-in-translation problem that afflicts my finished video somewhere between my WYSIWYG edit screen and the final playback clip.

PRE does not provide 3D editing features. The following basics solve many a problem in the PC world so you should try the MAC equivalents:
    Install all Windows Updates.
Install latest version of Apple QuickTime (v7.6.9 at time of writing). Even if you don't use QuickTime, PRE relies heavily on it.
Install most recent graphics and sound drivers from the manufacturers web sites.
    Install PRE9 v9.0.1 update.
Delete BadDrivers.txt (in Windows 7 this is likely at C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Premiere Elements\9.0\BadDrivers.txt)
    Run Disk Cleanup.
    Run Defragmenter.
    Reboot your PC.
Temporarily disable any anti-virus realtime scanning.
And give us some information about your clips and hardware:
Use the GSpot Codec Information Utility to analyse the file and post screen image.
What project preset did you use?
Where did the clip come from?
How did you get it into PRE?
Post back here with the necessary information described here: Got a Problem? How to Get Started
