Preventive Maintenance Plan Material requirement forecast

Is there any way I get to know what whether the materials included in Tasklist of maintenance plan are available or not , Just like forecasting or material requirement planning.

I dont think this is possible. You may have to extend the standard simulation program for scheduling to include the Components. You will also have to call the material availability check FM to analyse the demand for the required date.
Even then there is no guarantee for material availability when the Order is actually called.

Deadline monitoring in preventive maintenance plan scheduling

Dear Experts,
we are having only single cycle time based & performance based preventive maintenance plans. The individual plans are weekly, monthly or based on specific counter readings. Now i want to schedule it automatically through IP30. since there are plans with different units like days or hours how can i schedule it through IP30? is it possible to run separate IP30 for counter based single cycle plans? Is it ok if I run the program on every midnight? I am confused on the scheduling through IP30. please give me the clarity...Please do the needful.

Yes you can run IP30 with single cycle plans.
As IP30 can run for many hours (dependent upon number of plans) it is best to schedule the IP30 job at a time when there are fewest users on-line e.g. midnight on Saturday or Sunday. The timing is very much dependent upon your organisation.

It should be someones responsibility in your organisation to review the scheduling log after every IP30 run

Plan Material Requirements for Detached Order Assemblies in ETO

Hi all,
I need to plan requirements for a material used in engineering-to-order production. It's written in SAP Library ( http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/f6/089036e1e4b603e10000009b38f889/frameset.htm ) that I can plan independent requirements and assign them to the sales order. It's right, but I have two different sales orders and I need to assign a quantity to one and another one to the other: the system assign the whole quantity only to an order apart from the dates I have planned the independent requirements.
Have anyone a hint?

Preventive maintenance plan scheduling

Hi gurus,
I want to schedule maintenance plan for a past date by start of cycle field.
But it gives error when I enter a past dateand save it.
Error message is about key date of task list is a new date according to start of cycle.

Diagnosis
There are no operations for the calculated planned date.
At least one task list assigned to a maintenance item for the maintenance plan had not yet been created in the system or was not valid on the calculated planned date or the required start date 26.07.2010 for the order.
The start date of the order is therefore always before the planned date of the call if you work with a preliminary buffer in the maintenance package of the maintenance strategy.
You cannot call the maintenance plan on this date.

PP workcenter blocking by PM preventive Maintenance Plan

Hi Friends and Experts,
Giving the system cond "0" in Task list header data is not showing any impact on PP work center, i mean that PP work center is not getting loaded. This is working only when i mention 0 in the the header data of maint order.
Can we know whether a workcenter is planned for preventive maintenance on any sunday or holiday in advance before the maintenance order is created.
can any body throw some light.

Hi Sankar,
Mentioning the PP work center in your Equipment Master & mentioning 0 in task list header of that equipment. So that when Maintenance Guy will create a Maintenance plan & assign the relevant task list to that plan, then immediately after scheduling you will be able to see the forthcoming dates when your PP workcenter is blocked for maintenance.

Change of preventive maintenance plan

Hi All,
My scenario is,
1)I create maintenance strategy for preventive strategy plan.
2)assign that strategy to task list
3) create one maintenance plan
After some time i want to add one more package to both strategy as well as in task list.
can these changes reflect in my maintenance plan created before?

Hi Bhanu,
what you are saying is not possible for what all dates the documents are generated, but once the changes have been done then the orders generated after that can have the changes.

Preventive Maintenance Planning - change call date of future calls

Hello,
we are using time based maintenance plans to schedule our maintenance obligations towards customers. After creating the plan and scheduling (IP10) we get the scheduled calls proposed by the system.
Now we want to use IP10 or IP19 to move those planned call dates that are in the future without releasing the predecssor calls but it gives us an error: "Maintenance plan 16.04.2009: Predecessor to still on hold".
Does anyone know if there is a way around this?

As per your query... you cannot move the call dates which are in the future. First you have to skip the cal which are before the future cal date. then only you can do...

I tried ip19, ip24 but results are not satisfactory to me.

I have one question. I want to fill one filed in operation when order is created. Scenario.
1. I create meintenance plan with task list.
2. Then I schedule this plan with automation creation of orders. So when proper day come new order is created. But when this order is created I want to add value in user field for operations in this order. Is there any possibility to do this?

I required some setting related with Automatic Material PR generation from Preventive Maintenance Plan/Order.
Query: how can i set the non stock material so that when my maintenance plan gets generated then system will automatically generate the material PR for that Non stock material mention in task list.

Operations & Components can be defined only in task list, not in Maintenance Plan. While defining components in task list, you have no option to select the Item category.
So, define BoM for the Equipment with appropriate Item category, select those materials in task list, so that you can get the PR for components from Maintenance Order.
Instead, you can define the components directly in PM Order as well.

Single Maintenance plan creation for multiple equipemnts with different cyc

Dear Experts,
I had a following scenario to map in PM module. can anybody guide me to map this process?
we had no.of equipments under one functional location and will go through preventive maintenance on yearly basis. For this, i will create the single cycle yearly maintenance plan which comprices of maintenance items, which is fine. out of these equipments some of the equipments will go for routine maintenance like quarterly, half-yearly, tri-quarterly. user want to club these scenarios also in single preventive maintenance plan. when we scdule this plan, system has to deliver monthly orders and as well as yearly orders from single preventive maintenance plan.

It can be acheived in the following Manner.
Create a Strategy say "Test" with Packages 1M, 2M,Q,H,Y packages.
Create 5(say) Equipment Task Lista for each of the 5 Equipment at that FL.
1st Task List will have Operations related to say Monthly(1M), Quartely(Q), yearly (Y)
2nd Task List will have Operations related to say Monthly(1M), Quartely(H), yearly (Y)
And so on... as per Business Requirement.
Now create a Maintenance Plan with 5 maintenance Items with respective Task Lits.
Now Schedule the Plan and give the Last Completion date as the Yearly package (A date one year less than the day you wanetd the yearly plan).
Then check the calls.

Warranty in maintenance plan

hi all,
For an equipment i have a material with warranty for 1year.In preventive maintenance planning when i use strategy maint.plan for (6 monthes) system is raising notification even after the completion of warranty period also.
what are the settings i have to make to restrict the raising of notifications even after the completing the warranty period?

While defining the warranty select the dialog box for notification or order hence when you create order or notification for the equipment system will inform about the warranty expiring
but since the call object is created automatically ,i think it will not pop up during checking the call object ,kindly check

Measuring points in maintenance planning

Hi,
Can we use measuring point(not a counter) for preventive maintenance planning. for example - i need to perform the operation when a color of oil is changed from yellow to black. is it possible through measuring point?. it is possible means please share that procedures.

Hi Satish,
Yes, it is possible to generate a maintenance notification if the measuring point reading is not as per standards or target value. You require a user exit IMRC0001 to IMRC0005. Also read documentation for these user exits in tcode SMOD.

Mandatory field "Priority" for maintenance plan

Hi,
Setting mandatory fields on preventive maintenance plan is not possible in customizing.
So the alternative are:
     - User-exit as described above (TCode SMOD)
     - Transaction variants (TCode SHD0)
I've tried SMOD: this approach is not a user friendly option. The user get an error but the field are greyed out and need to click on cancel before the are able to enter data.
So I triend the screen variant (SHD0). But I'm having an issue on the field "Priority" (RMIPM-PRIOK). The dropdownlist is not working...
Does anyone has a workaround? I want to avoid development...

Hi Laura,
I understand that you are trying to make the Priority field (PRIOK) in maintenance item mandatory. It is a very simple task with User-Exit. Just put the following code in the include ZXPRMU06 of user-exit IPRM0004.
IF IMPOS_IMP-PRIOK IS INITIAL.
   MESSAGE: 'Please Fill the Priority field.' TYPE 'I'.
   RAISE NO_UPDATE.
ENDIF.
You will get this message and the Plan is refused to be saved until Priority Field is filled.
Your ABAPer will be able to do it in few seconds.

Maintenance plans for Backward counter

Is it possible for having a preventive maintenance plan for a measurement point that counts backwards?

I am looking for help with Counters and Timers and using them with a Maintenance Plan. We have about 10 count down timers mounted in one of our facilities. These timers are tied to the machine and measures the time until a mini or major PM will occur. These count down timers were previously used with the old CMMS system to assist in the scheduling of maintenance activities. We have recently converted them from the old CMMS to SAP PM but I am struggling with getting the count down timers to work in SAP. These timers are reset at 5000 hrs and as the machine operates, time is removed from the timer. A technician periodically reports these times to the system for scheduling purposes.
I have created the Measurement Point for a Functional Location.
I have identified that it is a counter.
I have it identified that it Counts Backwards.
When I try to assign this measurement point to a Maintenance Plan, I get the error "Only counters that run forwards can be entered"
How can I use the countdown timers to create pre configured (PM) work orders?
