See if the issue may be related to a QuickTime plug-in, take a look at this article:

Also, another user, MBR Tony, with a similar issue, found help as described here:

  • TED talks from ipadair2 don't play on appletv2 from downloaded files

I only have a 2mbs internet connection. TED talks from ipadair2 do not play on appletv2 from downloaded files but they do play from streaming? This only started recently, maybe after an update, it did work both ways before. the same happens with my iphone5s!

The songs somehow became corrupted when they transferred to new computer from old computer. Thankfully, I had another computer with iTunes and transferred them via firewire.

  • Just playing songs I have downloaded to my iphone

So I just want to play just those songs I have downloaded to my iphone from my matched library. How do I know what has been downloaded to my iphone? Is there a folder denoting this info and allowing me to shuffle and play those songs only?

I have that setting off but my music still plays from the cloud. Annoying when I have Christmas music on there! Or music from a memorial service..what a party pleaser! Help is appreciated!!

  • Not playing songs i've downloaded off burned Cds

I had a Cd that had over 150 MP3 songs on it. So I imported it like I would any other Cd, and it worked fine. I put them on my ipod and everything was fine. And then after about a week i was on itunes on my computer and clicked on one of the songs to play it. It said "The song (song name) could not be used becuase the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?"
    what do I do????

Do you have any recollection of having moved the files to a different location on your computer hard drive?
If so, you have to specifically let iTunes know the new location or else it won't know where to look for them.
If you don't recall moving the files, you might want to use the Search function in the XP Start menu to see if you can find the songs that way.
If you're unable to find them, make sure that Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to Library was checked in the iTunes Edit menu > Preferences > Advanced tab > General sub-tab. If it wasn't, you will most likely have to add the mp3's from the CD again.

  • I downloaded several cds to my external hard drive in .mp3 format. Later, I copied them to iTunes. The songs only play when the external hard drive is plugged in. I tried to load the songs from iTunes to my iPhone and the songs don't play.

I downloaded several cds to my external hard drive in .mp3 format. Later, I copied them to iTunes. The songs only play when the external hard drive is plugged in. I tried to load the songs from iTunes to my iPhone and the songs don't play. I thought iTunes allowed me to transfer music to my iPhone and play it. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi skoorb1,
When adding music to iTunes, you can set it to either make a local copy of the file, or simply point to the original location of the file (for example, on an external hard drive). If it is set to do the latter, it will not be able to play or transfer those files when the external hard drive is not plugged in. You may find the following article helpful:

Other people have been having similar problems with songs over a number of days, I assume that there has been a problem with Apple's servers.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the incomplete tracks from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

  • I purchased and downloaded my songs, and some don't play.

To clarify the songs do play, but only the first 4 seconds. The weirdest part is that songs that were downloaded before and after the ones that won't work, from the same album as well, do work. Any advice and has anyone ever had it happen before?

Delete the corrupted songs, then redownload.

  • I transfered my purchases from my iphone to my mac. All transfers completed. One particular album shows up on the phone but the songs are greyed out and don't play. Itunes shows album as purchased but album is not in my Mac library.

I transfered my purchases from my iphone to my mac. All transfers completed. One particular album shows up on the phone but the songs are greyed out and don't play. Itunes store shows album as purchased but album does not show up in my Mac library. How can I retrieve the album.

So i've found the answer to this by clicking on every menu and setting in the itunes store. It turns out some purchases in the cloud can be hidden probably as the result of an interrupted transfer/sync/backup or a network outage. To unhide purchases 'greyed out ' items , go to the Itunes store (on the PC) click on your account name and select view account. (you'll be prompted for your itunes password) once you are in scroll down to the purchase history section. there should be an option for hidden purchases. click through and click on unhide purchases, redownloadble purchases. any hidden purchases will then show up. click on unhide to reactivate and download. This may only work for purchases in the cloud.
    hope others find this useful.

  • How do I return to iCLoud a playlist of 80 songs that I downloaded from iCloud to my MacBook? I only need the songs downloaded temporarily due to no WiFi. I want to keep the playlist in iCloud; just don't want them downloaded

How do I return (to iCloud from MacBook Pro) a playlist of 80 songs that I downloaded? I only needed the songs downloaded temporarily due to no WiFi. I want to keep the playlist in iCloud; just don't want them downloaded. I know how to delete songs, but is there  a way to just "undo" and return songs to iCloud and maintain existing playlist on MacBook?

Use Flash Media Server to stream the files.......set up a timer and have all three of them play at once....and have a button switch the streams depending upon which stream you want to play.....and wallah......
you can also capture the stream.time from the video playing and resume from that point on the other videos as well....havent done this theoretically so I dont know how smooth the transistion between streams will be....but it can be done....
plus u may have to use double buffering techniques to make sure it starts up right away......

Did the original songs that do not appear on the car player play in the Music app on the iPod? Sometimes glitches happen and they do not. Also, If y ohave a 5G iPod/iOS 7, purchase songs  will show with an cloud icon by them if they are not downloaded if Shall All is turned on in Settings>iTunes and App Store

  • ITunes Purchased Songs are Protected files don't play on iPod

I purchased a whole album from iTunes store - they play on iTunes and download to the iPod however the iPod just skips over the song and won't play them. I have done everything advised by iPod support (re-load/update software, RRR, deauthorise, authorise PC, burn to CD disk and re-load) Nothing has worked.
These song files are MPEG-4 Audio file (Protected) therefore even when burnt to CD they remain in this format.
Can anyone help with how to get my iPod nano to play them OR get iTunes to un-protect them.
    Thanks

Did you just change your signature? If not, do I feel dumb!
Okay, now I understand. Odd. I have five different computers authorized to play the few songs I've bought from the iTunes store. And those tunes are currently playable on both my iPod and my wife's. So you should be able to do it too - I think.
I can think of two possibilities. First, Apple just recently delivered a new iTunes version and an iPod update. You've installed both? Second, I recently went back and looked at the iTunes terms of service because at the last user group meeting we had a little disagreement over them. One sentence seemed more vague than I remembered it. What I recall is that up to 5 computers can be authorized - but what I just read was 5 devices. I wonder if in a recent update Apple is suddenly counting computers and iPods toward the 5 device limit. Could that be affecting you? (I'm an update behind right now and I haven't bought any music from the iTunes store in about a year.
