Prime Infrastructure 2.1 & Client Traffic Report
Hi,
I know I can get the user Traffic & average session throughput as example over the Top 5 SSIDs and then I can create an overview for the
needed SSID with the needed columns Traffic & Avg. Session Throughput.
I checked the option to get this overview with a report and I tried several client reports but I don´t find any report type which provide me this
information : Client MAC , AP ,Traffic & Avg. Session Throughput.
Is there a possibility to generate a report which includes above information ?
Thanks
Hi,
here is an update:
There are more than one Report you need to start to get data for Device, FAN, Power Supply, Module - look at these reports:
Report > Report Launch Pad > Device > Inventory
Report > Report Lauch Pad > Device > Wired Detailed Device Inventory
Report > Report Lauch Pad > Device > Wired Module Detail > Wired Module Detail Report Details
SFPs and GBICs cannot be reported til now - there are working on it.

Prime Infrastructure 2.1 Client Statistic Report Issues
Hello Community,
I hope you can help with a couple of issues I am seeing on Prime Infrastructure 2.1, running an evaluation 60 day license.
My PI 2.1 build is currently managing a WLC 5508 running 7.4.121.0, which has been added successfully. No configuration changes were applied to the WLCs, other than SNMP community. No AVC or medianet configuration is applied.
When looking in the 'Operate>Client and Users' dashboard; I can see connected clients and if I select one of them, I can see further details like session, security and client statistics (showing traffic and 802.11 metrics). These are the table views that show current values, however, further down I see graphs but they do not contain any information for RSSI, SNR or traffic sent & received (packets or bytes).
Question: Should I see this information under an evaluation license and if so, what could be stopping it?
Also, when I run the reports 'Report>Report Launch Pad' and select 'Client>Client Traffic' or 'Client>Client Throughput' the resulting report contains 0 bps, when I select 'Report By' AP by Floor Area. I have created a single floor area and placed three access points into it.
Out of interest if I do a report of the same type using 'Report By' All or AP by Controller, I do see traffic graphs for 3 out of 333 access points. Just not the access points that are in my floor area. Also the amount of traffic utilization is tiny (less than a kbps) for a WLC with 800 users.
For a 'Client>Client Count' report using AP by Floor Area, I do see the client numbers connected to the WLC/APs in my configured floor area.
Question: Should I see reports for client traffic and throughput under an evaluation license for floor areas and if so, what could be stopping it?
I have checked the background task and the 'Client Statistics' task is enabled and run time is being updated.
Kind regards,

WCS 6.0 client traffic reports
I've looked around in the reports trying to find one that generates the Client Traffic report on the Home page under the Client tab. It is just a plain and simple graph that shows how much bandwidth has been used. I've only seen reports that show how much bandwidth a client has used or each individual wlc. I just need an overall bandwidth usage. Does anyone know how to create this graph via Reports or any other way?
Thanks
BrockHow about this:
Reports > Report Launch Pad > Client > Client Summary > Client Summary Report Details
Customize the report and only include:
Number of Sessions - Required
Number of Users - Required
Total Traffic (MB)
Total Throughput (Mbps) -
Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1 Not generating reports
Dears,
I am new to Cisco Prime. I installed Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1 for 60-days evaluation and i added routers, switches and APs. I configured SNMP community and telnet credentials. I can see clients on Dashboard, but when i go to reports and generate them for last hour, it displays "None Detected".
Please advise.Programmatic access to PI's data is via the REST API.

Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.2 clients and users IPs not detected
Hi all,
I have cisco PI2.2 and discovered all the network and i notified that there are some clients' IPs (Servers or PCs or Laptops or ....) not detected.
please advice what may be the issue ?Hi,
does anyone happen to know if that problem is fixed? My currently setup looks like this:
1. Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1 with updated device pack.
2. Assurance license
3. ASA5510 which has enabled netflow. Netflow is being sent to Cisco Prime 2.1
I do receive netflow raw data within Cisco Prime 2.1 but any graphical display of netflow data is not working. Does anybody has an idea where the problem is? Could it be that the graphical data is only displayed when sending netflow 1, netflow 5 or netflow 7?

Cisco Prime Infrastructure EoL/EoS and PSIRT reports
Hi
does PI 2.0 support these reports?
I have a trial version of 2.0, but can't seem to find these reports. In the release notes, it says these are supported?
New Features and Enhancements
•Support for End-of-Sale/End-of-Life Lifecycle Management reports for hardware, software and modules.
•Support for PSIRT reports detailing devices impacted by Cisco security advisories.
Any idea how to run these reports?
Thanks for your helpHi There,
I'm not sure if we are talking about the same thing, but we are running Prime Infrastructure 2.0. (2.0 (2.0.0.0.294))
You have to enable compliance from the settings (restart) and if you look under Report / Report Launch Pad, in the menu on the left is Device, click on there and you will see EOX ...... I've only had a quick look at the reports, but looks to work.

Prime Infrastructure "Current Associated Clients" No Data Available
We have prime infrastructure 1.3 and the "Current Associated Clients" always shows No Data Available. Any suggestions as to what would cause this?
End host Tracking needs the Bridge mib data, i.e, the Mac addr table/Cam table entry from device to show end hosts. With the error it is clear that LMS is not able to poll the bridge mib.
Bridge MIB is not as simple as directly polling device for data. It needs SNMP string indexing, which means it has to include @ sign after community to poll each vlan for mac addr's.
For example, the Catalyst switch includes one instance of the standard BRIDGE-MIB for each Virtual LAN in the switch. If the read-only community string is "public" and the read-write community string is "private", one could use "public@25" to read the BRIDGE-MIB for VLAN 25 and use "private@33" to read and write the BRIDGE-MIB for VLAN 33. If just "public" or "private" is used, the BRIDGE-MIB for VLAN 1 is accessed.
This is different when SNMP v3 is used. You have to configure snmp context than, as SNMP string indexing doesn't work on SNMP v3.
If you are using snmp v3, please check the following doc to see how contexts are created :
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/datacenter/sw/4_2/nx-os/system_management/configuration/guide/sm_9snmp.html#wp1070467
If using SNMP v1/v2c please manually poll the device by adding @ on community string and see it works.

Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1 Custom Reports
Hi, I need to generate a custom Guest User report from Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1. It needs to have a couple more fields added to the existing "Guest User Association" report.
Is it possible to connect to the Cisco Prime Infrastructure Database and Generate custom reports? Is there any documentation on this?

WCS v7.0 - Client Traffic Stats
Hi,
I have a demo license version of WCS v7.0 set up for a customer trial which is controlling a WLC-4402 and approx 10 access points.
Everything is working normally and as I would expect apart from the 'Client Traffic' reporting. When I check the graphs on 'WCS Home' > 'Client' tab, the Client Count graphs are working and showing correct data but the Client Traffic graph is showing 0Kbps. I have also tried running a Client Traffic report and this also shows a graph with 0Kbps. I know that there are a number of users associated and passing traffic but I cannot find any reason why this is not recording and reporting correctly.
Does anyone have any pointers or advice for what to check next?
Many thanks,
Paul.Hi Paul,
That's exactly the issue as v1 doesn't have the ability to poll objects which have 64 bit counters which the client traffic metrics are.
Change the version to SNMP v2 from WCS
Configure --> Controllers --> Click on the IP of the WLC ---> Under 'SNMP parameters' --> click save.
Wait for few hours & you should start seeing the graph getting populated.

Prime 2.1 - Client count report based on ssid
Dear All,
Is it possible to extract the reports of client count per ap based on ssid..?
Like, AP Name (eg., 2ndFloorAP) --> SSID (Test)--> Client count for past 1day, 1 week, 1 month etc.
As of now i could see overall client count of an ap from prime not based on SSID (under device work center --> unified ap --> client over time --> client count on ap / client traffic on ap)Hi Prasan,
Revisiting this issue, if you have your APs assigned to specific campus/building for your company, you can drill down to the specific AP and SSID that you want for that client count. The options that I used to run a report for one AP for one location that we have is as follows:
report title: <enter applicable name for report>
report by: AP by floor area
report criteria: choose edit and search for the location/building/campus and then the specific AP that you want from those fields. Then choose select.
Once back at the report screen you can set the next options:
connection protocol: select from drop down what you want if it is all clients, all wireless, etc.
The next drop down should allow you to select the specific SSID to what you want based upon the individual AP. Followed by the report time afterward. This report will output as a line graph showing the total number of clients based upon your search criteria and time frame. If you want to research client counts and see their mac address and IP ranges then you are limited to only seeing the current associated clients from the operation > work center flow while viewing the specific AP. Hope that helps.

Cisco prime infrastructure not detect IP address of clients
hi all,
I have Cisco Prime infrastructure 1.2 and when move to monitor >> clients tab it lists me all the clients in my network but their IP address list estates "not detected" ?
please any advice?
I appreciate your kindly support.Just an update that while this appears to have worked fairly well (as far as Cisco Management Planes go), there was one small 'gotcha' I've noticed so far:
After the services came back up, the entries for our RADIUS servers did not function. No, not because I didn't update the clients address record on the RADIUS server itself, but because the RADIUS server record(s) within CPI have a field called 'Local Interface IP' that still reflects the previous IP assigned to CPI. A quick edit/save with the new interface fixes up the issue however.
Cheers! -
New installation of Prime Infrastructure 2.2.0 (PI-VA-2.2.0.0.158.ova)
installed fixes/software/device packs:
PI 2.2.1 Poodle Fix (installed)
PI 2.2.1 Maintenance Release (installed,ncs stopped,rebooted)
Prime Infrastrucutre 2.2 Device Pack 3 (installed,ncs stopped,rebooted)
Licences installed (ncs stopped,rebooted)
Added all devices via Bulk Import (Inventory>Device Management>Network Devices)
Problem 1:
The Cisco 5500 WLCs are not listed in Inventory>Device Management>Network Devices (see screen shot) but listed under "All Devices"!
The Cisco 4400 WLCs and the 8500 WLCs are listed within their subgroup.
Devices are in "Managed State"
Problem 2: fixed! (Browser issue)
Problem 3:
Unable to run "Wired Detailed Device Inventory" report because I get the error message: Failed to run report: Unable to retrieve data for: Chassis Information (if Chassis Information is selected, if System Information is selected I get the error message with ...retrieve data for:System Information)
All devices do have an "Admin Status = Managed" and the Last Inventory Collections Status = Completed.
Has anyone the same issues or a tip for me?
Another topic, the "User Defined Fileds" are not exported when with running a "Device Export" (Inventory > Device Management > Network Devices). ;-(
BR
BastianHallo Bastian,
I think you still have browser issue, Using IE is still the best with Prime.
I have exactly same prime 2.2 and installed fixes/software/device packs.
I have no problem I can see all views. I use now IE 11, with Chrome 42.0.2311.90 and firefox 37.01 I have problems too with lots of views. You have not tell what browser + version you have.
Since you have same prime 2.2 as me. I have other problems, can you check yours?
Can you see a functional CLI template page at Configuration > Templates > Features & Technologies:
https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12481691/can-cisco-prime-22-still-do-simple-ad-hoc-deployment-job-cli-over-all-switches
Do you have SNMP Connectivity Failed while Verify Credentials has no errors all green and checked.

(hh:mm)Hi ,
Prime infrastructure uses MIB to collect the Mac address of the clients; this MIB collects
the information per vlan.
So we need to configure SNMP context for all vlans to view the wired client.
Try configure SNMP context on devices , then delete and re-add the device and check the issue.
For e.g:
snmp-server group gcobergroup v3 auth context vlan-1
snmp-server group gcobergroup v3 auth context vlan-71

Cisco Prime Infrastructure - Is there a report of unused switch ports?
Hello,
Is there a report in Cisco Prime Infrastructure 1.4 showing the unused switch ports?
There used to be one in Cisco Prime LMS (Reclaim Unused Up/Down Ports Report).
Thank you,
LukeHello,
I now have Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.0 running, and I don't see a report like the "Reclaim Unused Up/Down Ports" report that existed in LMS.
I found one called "Interface Capacity", but it only shows the number of ports that are "connected", "notconnect" or "disabled".
Does anyone know if a report of Unused ports exists in Prime Infrastructure 2.0 or if it will be available later on?
Thank you,
Luke
