Print "Confidential" mark on all docs (required for SOX audit)

Hi All.
Problem: In order to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley Act I need to implement possibility to print "Confidential" mark for any user chosen document (on every page).
Partially this was implemented by setting footnote in SAP printer driver. But this isn't usable all the time (especially with ALV-lists).
There are 3 SAP notes:
895029 - Let MIC report output watermark
371854 - SAP Query: Printing in the SAP List Viewer (ALV)
756650 - Footer in the print dialog
But first one is about standard header. Second one looks is what I need, but it also does not cover all documents. Third is for future releases.
I found that there is special Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance Software for SAP ERP. And I wonder if it covers also print issue:
680615 - Installing SAP CM SOA Release 1.0
Best solution would be to have a checkbox, which user can check while printing confidential documents.
I do not believe that nobody faced with the same problem while preparing to SOX audit. Is there a standard solution?
Thanks to all.

If someone interested here is SAPs reply for my problem:
"Setting a footline for printing in the ALV lists is not possible.
However as a workaround you are able to design the areas above and
below the ALV output with various elements. In your business case (if I
understood your business requirements correctly) you need to output a
text/a mark at the top/at the bottom of every printed page -> in order
to implement this you would have to implement handling for either the
TOP_OF_PAGE or the END_OF_PAGE events as in ALV the page headers and
footers are events.
If ALV determines that there is a page break when generating the
printout, the END_OF_PAGE or TOP_OF_PAGE event is triggered. ALV checks
whether a design object is defined for this event and inserts at the
correct position e.g. when you use the event print_end_of_page to output
text with the WRITE statement during print output. The text is inserted
at the end of each page. During print output, the ALV Grid Control goes
to the list output of the classic ALV. In the print preview (classic
ALV), the text for this event is not displayed. Demo program
BCALV_GRID_01 in development class SLIS illustrates how the
print_end_of_page is used. To allow output at the end of each page, you
must reserve several lines for these pages. To do this, use field
reservelns of a structure of type lvc_s_prnt and pass this structure
with method set_table_for_first_display.
For an overview see also the documentation for the events of class
CL_GUI_ALV_GRID."

  • Iphotos Package Contents: What are all these folders for? Is it too large to back up in the cloud?

Dear experts,  I am quite a newbie when it comes to understanding the Mac filing system, as I originally came from the PC world.  There's lots of things I dont understand in the iMac file viewer and how to organise and backup my photos is an important issue for me.
I know that if I want to look at the original photo files on my iMac, I can right-click on users/myname/pictures and select "Show Package Contents".
Question 1 - What are all these folders for?
Please can someone explain what is the difference between all the folders I see?  Some of them seem to be exact duplicates of the others e.g. Masters, Modified and Originals all seem to have the same content.  So here is a list of folders that I see.  What is in them?, or what is their purpose?
    Data
    Data.noindex
    Modified
    Originals
    Apple TV Photo Cache
    Attachments
    Auto Import
    Backup
    Caches
    Contents
    Database
    iLifeShared
    iPod Photo Cache
    Masters
    Previews
    ProjectCache
    Thumbnails
    Question 2 - Which photo folder should I back-up?
If I want to keep a physical backup of my photos, which of the above folders should I copy to an external hard drive?  (I use Get Backup to automatically  copy all important new or changed files to an external drive)
Question 3 - Using the cloud: What is the best way to backup my large photo library in the cloud safely?
I would like to have some kind of safe backup in the cloud for my photos.  However the size of the iphoto library is huge at 165GB.  Even the Masters folder is huge.  It is 130GB.  Is it possible to back up files of this size in the cloud?  I have a couple of services called photo streaming and Dropbox, but they don't seem to be able to handle this kind of size.  Photo streaming only works with 1000 photos (as far as I can tell), and my Dropbox probably has a limit too.  I guess it's about 5GB.  I am already using about 3GB of my Dropbox space for other files.  I would consider both paid and free solutions.
Many thanks to all the experts for your help!

know that if I want to look at the original photo files on my iMac, I can right-click on users/myname/pictures and select "Show Package Contents".
Don't do that. That's like opening the hood of your car and trying to figure out what all the different bits and peices are and which you can yank out and dispose of. Simply, there are no user-serviceable parts in here.
    So, your Question 2:
You back up the iPhoto Library as a single unit.
    Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store
    Your question 3:
There is no good back up to the Cloud. There are a couple of reasons for this. One is that the datasets are so large and the cloud services shapre their download speeds. This means restoring can take days to complete. Then, and this is the big problem, the iPhoto Library needs to sit on a disk formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Bluntly, no servers online are formatted appropriately, and if the Library is written to - by an incremental back up, for instance - there is a very high likelihood that the library will be corrupted.
    Your Question 1:
The Library you're describing there sounds like one that has been updated a few times. Not everything you list there is a folder. Some will be aliases.
    The Data folders hold thumbnails.
The Masters and Originals folders hold the files as imported from the camera
The Previews hold the versions of the edited photos that are accessed via the Sharing mechanism.
I think if you look losely that you'll notice that one of the Data folders and one of either the Masters or the Originals folders is actually an alias.
Everything else is a database or cache file of some form. All are required for iPhoto to work.

  • Reducing time required for ABAP-only copyback (system copy) process

Our company is investigating how to reduce the amount of time it takes to perform a copyback (system copy) from a production ABAP system to a QA system.  We use a similar process for all ABAP-only systems in our landscape, ranging from 3.1h systems to ECC6.0 ABAP-only systems on both DB2 and Oracle database platforms, and the process takes approximately two weeks of effort from end-to-end (this includes time required to resolve any issues encountered).
Here is an overview of the process we use:
u2022     Create and release backup transports of key system tables and IDu2019s (via client copy) in the QA system to be overwritten (including RFC-related tables, partner profile and IDOC setup-related tables,  scheduled background jobs, archiving configuration, etc.).
u2022     Reconfigure the landscape transport route to remove QA system from transport landscape.
u2022                    Create a virtual import queue attached to the development system to capture all transports released from development during the QA downtime.
u2022     Take a backup of the target production database.
u2022     Overwrite the QA destination database with the production copy.
u2022     Localize the database (performed by DBAu2019s).
u2022     Overview of Basis tasks (for smaller systems, this process can be completed in one or two days, but for larger systems, this process takes closer to 5 days because of the BDLS runtime and the time it takes to import larger transport requests and the user ID client copy transports):
    o     Import the SAP license.
o     Execute SICK to check the system.
o     Execute BDLS to localize the system.
o     Clear out performance statistics and scheduled background jobs.
    o     Import the backup transports.
o     Import the QA client copy of user IDu2019s.
    o     Import/reschedule background jobs.
o     Perform any system-specific localization (example: for a CRM system with TREX, delete the old indexes).
u2022     Restore the previous transport route to include the QA system back into the landscape.
u2022     Import all transports released from the development system during the QA system downtime.
Our companyu2019s procedure is similar to the procedure demonstrated in this 2010 TechEd session:
    http://www.sapteched.com/10/usa/edu_sessions/session.htm?id=825
Does anyone have experience with a more efficient process that minimizes the downtime of the QA system?
Also, has anyone had a positive experience with the system copy automation tools offered by various companies (e.g., UC4, Tidal)?
    Thank you,
    Matt

    Hi,
    > One system that immediately comes to mind has a database size of 2TB.  While we have reduced the copyback time for this system by running multiple BDLS sessions in parallel, that process still takes a long time to complete.  Also, for the same system, importing the client copy transports of user ID's takes about 8 hours (one full workday) to complete.
    >
For BDLS run, I agree with Olivier.
    > The 2 weeks time also factors in time to resolve any issues that are encountered, such as issues with the database restore/localization process or issues resulting from human error.  An example of human error could be forgetting to request temporary ID's to be created in the production system for use in the QA system after it has been initially restored (our standard production Basis role does not contain all authorizations required for the QA localization effort).
    >
For the issues that you encounter because of system copy, you can minimize this time period as you would be doing it on periodic basis (making some task list) and you can make a note of issues that you faced in previous run. So, normally i don't count it as system copy time
    Thanks
    Sunny

You need about 40 GB total. Also make sure that your /tmp and /var/tmp have about 2GB free in them, otherwise the installation will fail. (I can't remember the exact numbers, though.)
I agree, the system requirements do not exist anywere in any straightforward documentation. You need to read at least three different documents to piece together the requirements, and the results will still be incomplete.

  • Windows update requirements for Xerox print drivers on Windows 2003 server

Hello, We are currently deploying a fleet of Xerox MFD's across ~100 locations, and we are running into an issue installing the print drivers on some Windows Server 2003 (32bit) boxes. (both the machine specific driver, as well as the Xerox Global print driver) The print driver installs fine, but no jobs will actually print, and if you try and print a test page, an error "Test page failed to print. Would you like to view the print troubleshooter for assistance?" comes up instantly. We have seem to have narrowed the problem down to a missing Windows update, as if we do all available High Priority and Optional updates, it starts to work fine. Does anybody know specifically which Windows updates are a requirement for the driver?  Our 2003 servers were last fully updated about a year ago, and due to time constraints, if we could just install the Windows updates that are needed it would be a big help. Thank you in advance

When Xerox dropped support for XP, they stopped adding particular files from the driver packs (probably for size reduction) because they were all included by default in every newer OS. If you install this here on any XP/2003 base machines it will work as normal. It is best to install that before the driver install, but I have been mostly lucky to have it work fine days later. YMMV
