Print driver host for 32 bit app has stopped working

Using Windows 7 64 bit. The printer is an HP Laser 1200. The 64 bit driver for the printer would not work, so I switched to the hp 2200 64 bit driver and the customer was able to print out of his CAD program and Excel.
However Adobe Reader is a different matter. He got the message "print driver for the 32 bit app has stopped working" and printed out 3 blank pages. Then he tried to print again, didn't get the message, and didn't get the blank paper. In fact, he didn't get anything.
Of course, there is no information on the HP website. Any ideas on what could be the problem?
Thanks

  • Error "print driver host for 32bit applications has stopped working"

Got this error when trying to "print" a gmail message to a pdf file. After some research (trial and error) I found that in my case this message is due to the subject line of the message generating an invalid Windows file name. Using the subject line to generate the filename is how GMail decides to generate the file name. I guess this is as good a strategy as any. I cannot think of a better strategy for GMail (would not want that "feature" changed).
Solution: Forwarded message to myself with a subject line that does not generate an invalid Windows file name and then "printed" that forwarded message.
Software: Adobe Acrobat Pro. OS: Win 7 64-bit. Application: Chrome accessing GMail. But I conjecture that this error message is not dependent on the specific configuration I have. For example, I recall having a failure when trying to do "print" a GMail message under 32-bit vista though I do not recall the error message (was very likely different :-). In that case I copied the message into Word and moved on leaving it as a mystery.
Adobe solution (I suppose) is that Acrobat (distiller) needs to check the validity of the Windows file name and give back a rationale error message before passing to the OS.
Hope this helps somone out there.

I am having the exact same problem. I have Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and Design Premium CS 5.5.  InDesign is the ONLY program that will not print to any printer. I get the "Printer selection failed." error every time I select any printer, even the Adobe PDF one. I have a Brother printer, an HP Plotter, and even an Oce copier/printer.  InDesign gives the error no matter what printer is selected form its own list.  Photoshop and Acrobat do not give me any issues, nor does any of the MS Office programs nor Autodesk softwares.  It's only InDesign that fails.  Reparing doesn't do anything and reinstalling every printer driver is pointless because it's only InDesign that produces the error.
Does anyone know what to do to fix this?

  • Print driver host for 32bit application has stopped

    Hi.
I'm being asked to troubleshoot an issue with very limited access and I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction.
Users are connecting to a WIndows 2008 R2 SP1 server using RDP. They are printing to HP Printers from within the RDP session. The Printers are installed onto the server as TCPIP printers. The error is a crash of SPLWOW64.EXE, and it references the file 'HPZUIWN7.DLL'.
The application they are printing from is 32-bit.
My biggest hurdle is the fact that I am expected to solve the problem, but have limited access to the environment and the people who have the required access are more interested in applying blame for the problem than fixing it (exacerbated by the fact that
if I am right in my diagnoses, they are the cause of the problem in the first place.)
I am of the opinion that the issue is 32/64-bit driver conflict related, but am a bit confused as to the recommended configuration for an environment like this. To summarize my question:
On a 64-bit OS that hosts multiple RDP Sessions (which could be from 32 or 64 bit workstations) that is used primarily for a 32-bit application, should we install the 32-bit print drivers, the 64-bit print drivers or both?
NOTE: I have some .DMP files related to the crash, but as of this stage I'd argue that the troubleshooting hasn't gotten to the point to justify trying to debug those yet.
    Thanks for your time.
    Dan

I'm not sure why the method is the name that it is.  I'm pretty sure MS blocked 16bit app support on 64bit machines.
The failure in the HP UI module is in this method
    INVALID_POINTER_READ_c0000005_HPZUIWN7.DLL!CHPCommon::VUpdateResolutionFor16BitApps
They are not checking the memory before using it and it's not a valid pointer and crashes the process.
I'll send this to one of the guys that works for HP but there is not a way for the HP code to get updated like we do with system components.  The Office team has a report on this binary and method crashing office applications in 2012, but
it does not look like the issue was every handed off to HP, not that HP could address it then.
The FIRST thing I would do is change the resolution you have configured for the printer just to see if that initializes the data I assume the driver is looking for.
The next thing would be trying a different driver for the device.  If you find a newer driver that uses HPZ6RWN7.DLL, it has the same defect.

Why will Photoshop CS4 not open after loading to new iMac from an external hard drive and I get this message: Licensing for this product has stopped working:error code: 150:30

A Photoshop installation is tied to the machine it was installed on. Moving it to or from a hard drive breaks the licensing.
The answer is easy: Reinstall CS4 from your disc. and apply all updates.

If you can not use CS4 menu Help>Activate|Deactivate to get the install working again you may need to re-install CS4.

  • Licensing for this product has stopped working - Acrobat 9 Pro / OS 10.7

I am having a problem with Acrobat 9 Pro (9.4.5)  following my upgrade to Mac OS 10.7 (MacBook Pro).  The error that I've been receiving is "Licensing for this product has stopped working" with a numeric code at the bottom of the page of (0).
As suggested on that screen, I uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat 9 Pro and spent quite a bit of time loading all of the updates.  At the end of it, I still receive the same message and the program will not continue after that message.
This is part of CS4 Master.  All other products in the suite are working correctly and without issue.  No challenges with other Adobe products for licensing.  Acrobat is the only program I have that gives this message and then closes.
I found this page -> http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/512/cpsid_51260.html and started working through the process on that page.  When I got to the step of the License Recovery Tool (11.6.1), the launcher program will not launch with the error "You can't open the application LicenseRecoveryLauncher because PowerPC applications are no longer supported."  I guess that this program relies on Rosetta and will no longer function.
Can you help?  I've already uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat 9 Pro several times.  Some of the steps noted on http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/512/cpsid_51260.html disable the licensing for the other apps in CS4.  I really don't want to uninstall and reinstall the entire suite.
I have been on Adobe Customer Service Chat for a few hours.  Recommendations have been to just upgrade to Acrobat X or to call it in.  Before that, I wanted to check the forum to see if anyone else has hit this issue and if there is another possible fix.
    Thanks!

    Steve,
I appreciate your answer.  While it might work, I'm a bit hesitant to remove the other programs as a possible solution since they are all currently working.
With Acrobat 9 Pro failing with the OS 10.7 upgrade, I'm hoping that there is a less severe solution.
Since the trigger appears to be 10.7 and may have something to do with the discontinued support of Rosetta, I could be spending a few hours working on a reinstall without a change.  Yes, it might work.  The "might" is the part that makes me hesitate.
Is anyone else out there on OS 10.7 and running Acrobat 9 Pro?  Any issues with anyone else?
Thanks Steve.  I do appreciate your offering a solution.  I may end up trying it if nothing else comes together.

  • Synaptics touchpad 64-bit enhancements has stopped working.

    Hi guys,
I recently bought new HP 15-r022tx Notebook PC (Product Number:   J6M27PA) which comes with free dos, have installed windows 7 x64 and updated all drivers from hp online, after all latest update i get a error message on startup 'synaptics touchpad 64-bit enhancements has stopped working'.
have tried to configure mouse setting but wen i try to access mouse setting i get a error message 'unable to connect to synaptics pointing device driver'
have uninstalled and re installed the driver from hp support still the same problem.
so after some online search and no luck in any of them i continued using lap by closing the program on the first error message on every startup without any synaptics touchpad functions like two touch scrolling, zooming etc... but some times the cursor jumps around erratically and moves on its own with no contact in the touchpad, click options are not working wen cursor strats to move on its own, after some observation i noticed mouse works fine on every startup(by closing the program on error message without touchpads some special functions) until i right click it (sometimes after first click some times after many clicks) until i right click using the touchpad the mouse seems to be working fine but after i right click the mouse it goes to its own way.
    any suggestions guys
    thanks you guys.....

    Hello Zman07,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I have read your post on how the TouchPad on your notebook computer is behaving erratically, and I would be happy to assist you!
To restore the functions on your TouchPad, I recommend uninstalling the driver from Programs and Features and installing this specific Synaptics TouchPad Driver. This parcel of software should be compatible with your current system.
If the issue persists, I also suggest following this document on Using and Configuring the TouchPad (Windows 7 and Vista). This should help adjust the TouchPad to your preferences.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

  • TCS 2 on Windows 7 - "Licensing for this product has stopped working"

I just spent the last 6 days (since 4/8) with Adobe Technical Support. I have a Dell Latitude 630 Laptop running Windows 7 32-bit. For no reason at all (as is usually the case), RH8 crashed after I ran  spell check. Unfortunately, unlike all the other times, it would not restart. The error message box I kept getting (and 4 says later am still getting) is "Licensing for this product has stopped working". The only thing I've learned from this 4-day ordeal is that no one at Adobe Technical Support knows how to do anything but uninstall and reinstall this product. And, for some reason, Adobe has released this software fully aware that it will not completely uninstall using Windows 7's uninstaller - You must also then run both the Windows Uninstaller Cleaner (after downloading & installing it) and their own CS3 Uninstaller Cleaner.
After doing that twice (completely uininstalling and reinstalling), and waiting for 1) the first tech to open a case - it took him 4 days; and 2) the "top level" of support to contact me - that took 2 more days. After telling me how to completely uninstall the suite (yep, that's her fix, too), she has just advised me that the SW won't run because my computer is on a Domain. Yes, my company requires that all of our computers be connected to our Domain. What company doesn't?What is also interesting is that none of my co-workers, who are also running Windows 7, have had this problem. How many of you are successfully using TCS2 on Windows 7 32-bit AND are on a Domain? I'll bet that there are a lot of you out there. Congratulations to you all for still being able to do so! I envy you.
THE FIX: (And this is from Adobe's top level of support, or so I was told.) I've been told that I must create a Local User Account on my laptop that has Admin privileges but is NOT on a Domain, and install the TCS2 software onto that account. This will fix my problem. Interestingly, the first tech had me log onto his Adobe software that allowed him to see my desktop. Didn't he see that I was on a Domain? Or maybe he just isn't privy to this information because he's not high up enough.
I hope that this information keeps at least 1 other person from having to go thru 6 (or less or more) days of repeating your problem to countless Adobe techs who all tell you to do the exact, same thing. And, of course, hearing each one apologize for "the inconvenience" and being "so sorry you are experiencing difficulties".
Here a thought - Don't release your software until it works.
Here's another thought - Don't claim that your software works on a platform until it actually does. As my co-worker Ed says, "Got an Issue? Get a tissue!"
    Cheers,
    Critterlover1075

    Peter,
The higher-tiered (supposedly) Tech had me go to that Web page and follow those instructions earlier this week. I followed all of them, and still had the same problem. That was when she told me that the problem is because my laptop is connected to a Domain (see first post).
4/15/10 Update: My IT support gave me the password to log onto my laptop using the Administrator logon. This login is not connected to our Domain because it is used by our IT folks to troubleshoot problems with the laptop itself. I installed only Acrobat, RoboHelp, and FrameMaker from this login last night. Then I opened Acrobat 9 and "updated" everything. RoboHelop 8 now works (and it is accessible from my regular login), but FrameMaker is now giving an error message, something about the dictionaries, and it does not open. Here is the error dialog being thrown now by FrameMaker 9:
I have updated my case with this info and the screenshot of the error dialog. If you know what is causing this error in FM, please let me know what to do to fix it.
    Thank you for your help!

  • How do I reinstall Adobe Photoshop CS4 - I receive error 6 stating that licensing for this product has stopped working.

I previously installed Adobe Photoshop CS4 on my Macbook Pro. My hard drive crashed, and I had to get a new hard drive replaced. Now upon trying to reinstall CS4 from a backup copy CD (with licensing, serial number available), I receive an error 6 stating that the "licensing for this product has stopped working". Has anyone experienced this or know how to troubleshoot? Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

  • Licensing for this product has stopped working Error: 5

    OK. Totally frustrated here.
Trying to start InDesign (installed with Master Collection CS4) on Powerbook Pro running 10.5.7 and consistently get the error above: "Licensing for this product has stopped working" and with error: 5.
I have attached a dump of the error screen.
I have been through Adobe's knowledge base and followed the steps there. I have:
    1. Applied the licensing service update, and I also used the 0 option.
    2. I have restarted the computer several times.
    3. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the application (the whole Master Collection actually) using the uninstaller, with the remove preferences files option selected.
As far as I am aware I have the latest version because after reinstalling it the updater downloaded 1.1Gb of updates and installed those.
I have also nuked all font caches in case it was related to Apple's font cache bug.
No joy in any event. Still getting the error and no InDesign.
Any suggestions from the gurus here, please???
    Alan

    Thanks Peter,
As I said, have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but InDesign still doesn't work, all the other CS4 apps seem OK. Looked at the list you provided - much the same as the one I generated except there was one extra page I had not seen before at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/494/cpsid_49485.html.
Of course the series of steps described in that page are impossible to do because it says to :
    1)      Set the computer clock back to May 31, 2009.
    2)      Launch the affected product.
    3)      Go to Help->Deactivate, select ERASE THIS SERIAL NUMBER.
    4)      Quit the application.
    5)      ...
The application will not start because the licensing has stopped working. So step 2 is not possible.
Apart from that the only other page that specifically addresses this problem is at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/405/kb405970.html
In this it says to do the things I said I have already done in my original post. None have worked.
Guess Adobe don't monitor this forum so I suppose I need to go back to Quark to do my work. InDesign appears fatally broken.
    Cheers

  • Error "Licensing for this product has stopped working" when you launch Acrobat 9

    Hi,
I'm part of service desk and my company has several thousand users of Acrobat. There has been strange issues reported since upgrading from 7.0.5 to 9.1 and a lot of them are uhappy. The latest issue is users started to receive the following error,
Error "Licensing for this product has stopped working" when you launch Acrobat 9 or Adobe Creative Suite 4 products. The link http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/405/kb405970.html#ErrorCodes has solution, but i tried everything given for 147-178, and nothing works. The users are highly frustrated. Any other possibilities? one collegue claims running simple reg cleaner could solve this issue.

    Wow,
I went through a "font crisis" on my MacBook about two weeks ago, and I reinstalled Snow Leopard, then restored everything from Time Machine backup. Everything but Office 2008 and CS4 was able to run from the restore, because there were preferences for both that wouldn't copy back to my Library (permissions).
I reinstalled both from the "original media" (dmg's)  with my Time Machine and 2 other external HDs connected and mounted. I had no problems with either. In fact since I was re-installing from dmg's stored on my Time Machine drive, I had to have it connected to do this. Installing Office and CS4 from the dmg's took all of twenty minutes for both with no errors at all.
I'm glad you got everything taken care of, but anectdotal evidence tells me CS4 can be reinstalled with external drives connected and mounted.

  • Photoshop Elements 6 Licensing for this product has stopped working.

    Hello,
I have just done a clean install of Snow Leopard (after wiping my hard disk), then restored my system (without applications) from my Time Capsule. I have then successfully re-installed most of my software.
However, after re-installing Photoshop Elements 6 from the original DVD, I get the following error message:
Licensing for this product has stopped working. You cannot use this product at this time......
This appears as soon as I attempt to run the program from my Applications folder and Elements closes as soon as I click OK and does not allow me to input my license key.
    Anyone any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Philip.

    Hiya Philip M,
most Adobe products work by the licencing system installing some sort of "correct" answer-code when adobe connects to verify the authenticity of your product. I think, you may have to contact Adobe.
When I ran Macromedia Dreamweaver, you were able to "transfer licence" (PRIOR to uninstalling from one machine and installing on another), which would send the signal to "free up" the correct (and authentic) licence and then install on your other machine. This facility has been removed (no doubt to protect the product) and I had to pay for a new disk (a bit of a pain); maybe you are luckier but check adobe's help site:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/photoshopelements/
    good luck

  • Lisencing for this product has stopped working

    Hi
I have downloaded photoshop cs4 trial from the Adobe site and seams like successfully installed it on my laptop with Windows Vista 64 1sp.
But when I start it it shows error message like follows "Licensing for this product has stopped working".
I have surfed through the FAQ section regarding this issue but still have not managed it.
Next thing I noticed is that I have no FLEXnet service in y service list. May be this is the reason for the error?
    Please, help.
    Thanks in advance,

You need to adjust the permissions on your Library system folders and allow changes to be made. Those legacy apps have no preparations in place to deal with the changed defaults Apple introduced with Mavericks.

  • What does "licensing for this product has stopped working, Error 150:30" indicte?

My CS4 has stopped working. I get the message..." licensing for this product has stopped working, Error 150:30"  After taking all the steps  listed and uninstalling CS4 and Reinstalling it I finally got it working again ( which took a couple of hours of down time)  Now ...every time I turn my computer off and back on, I get the same message again, and must go thru the 2 hours "fix"... any suggestions.  Adobe Support has been less than helpful with this... which is unusual.
    Photodeb

PhotoDeb, I have the same problem with my CS4 suite. I get the 150:30 error, "licensing has stopped working."
Fortunately, I'm subscribed to CC, so I can still open all CS4 files with CC apps.
BUT, I DO want to get my CS4 working again.
Have you been successful yet, in getting your CS4 back to working as it should?
I tried downloading the "License Repair Tool" [www.adobe.com/support/contact/licensing.html] file from Adobe, but it didn't work.
I have read that if it is downloaded with Safari (as I did), it won't work; that it has to be downloaded with Chrome or a browser other than Safari.
Also, I deleted the FLEXnet Publisher preferences folder. But, I now wish I had simply moved it to the Desktop, instead of trashing it entirely.
So far, I haven't done anything about reinstalling CS4.
QUESTION: From what you've learned, is it recommended to UNinstall CS4 suite (like you did) BEFORE reinstalling it?
