Print single plate Applescript

The following script will turn off all plates (colors) except the one spot, open the print dialog, and the resulting .ps file will have only one spot color.
However if I include "print without dialog" I get all plates.
Any thoughts on why/how to avoid getting all plates
tell application "Adobe InDesign CS3"
tell active document
tell print preferences
-- set other properties for example, active printer style
set color output to separations
set printer to postscript file
set PPD to "Xerox DocuColor 2006"
set print file to "Chaco:Users:tpetrill:Desktop:TEST2.ps"
end tell
end tell
set print ink of ink "Process Magenta" of document 1 to false
set print ink of ink "Process Cyan" of document 1 to false
set print ink of ink "Process Yellow" of document 1 to false
set print ink of ink "Process Black" of document 1 to false
-- set print ink of ink "RF.tp" of document 1 to true
tell active document
-- print without print dialog
end tell
set print ink of ink "Process magenta" of document 1 to true
set print ink of ink "Process Cyan" of document 1 to true
set print ink of ink "Process Yellow" of document 1 to true
set print ink of ink "Process Black" of document 1 to true
end tell

  • Printing Single Sided/Double Sided Forms in LiveCycle Desginer

    Good day,
I have a 6 page form in LiveCyle Designer where I would like the following:
Page 1 - Print Single Sided
Page 2 - Print Single Sided
Page 3 - Print Double Sided
    Page 4 - 2nd page of page3
Page 5 - Print Double Sided
    Page 6 - 2nd page of page5
We have a copy machine in our office that's cable of printing duplex.
I know in the form properties you can check off to do duplex printing of your form but when I do that the first page of (Page 2) appears on the back of (Page 1) and I can't have that happened.
If anyone can assist me with this I'd truly appreciate it.
PS - I also tried the "Presence" section where you can choose one side printing only or two sided printing and that didn't work for me as well.
    I'm using LiveCycle Designer ES2 9.0
    * I tried creating master pages with the pages I wanted to do double sided printing and that didn't work as well.

I've searched the web about this whole master page stuff but I'm so confused.
What I've done is attached the document so if anyone could look at it and tell me what I need to do, I would appreciate it.
    Thank you.

  • Setting options in "Printer" section using Applescript InDesign CS

How can i set define supplementary options found in the "Printer" section of the InDesign dialog box in a print preset using Applescript?
I would like my script to set duplex option with the proper binding, according to the page orientation.
When creating print presets manually, these extra options are stored in the print preset, but I can't find how to access them thru Applescript.
    Thanks,
    Peter

    Shane,
Thanks for your reply, but it is not yet clear to me.
I know you can set some print properties in the Apple Print event, such as copies, collating, target printer ...but how can I adress the printer-specific options, such as duplex printing? Could you give me a sample line of code?
And next step, how can I include this "Apple -print" setting in an InDesign Print preset using Applescript? I suppose I have to set the apple printer prefs before creating the InDesign preset. Right?
    Thanks in advance,
    Peter

  • I need some help printing to plates please please

Hi all I am brand new to illustrator CS4 as of today I am starting to print church stuff and need to print to polyester plates I have a logo I cannot seem to be able to figure out how to print each plate for CMYK. Please help me as I want to start printing ASAP. I have searched and searched but cannot seem to find info that is straight forward something seems to change from real world to what I read.  Anyone? I would really appreciate some help please

Printing to polyester plates requires an expensive piece of hardware.  It is not a simple "print-out-of-Illustrator" solution.  There may be some opportunities for printing direct to the RIP which then generates the plates.  There are also direct-to-plate digital presses.  You need to do some research on what is available and how much it will cost.  Contact your local offset print shop and ask them if they can help you narrow down the search for a solution.
This assumes you have no platesetter or digitla press on the premises.  If you do, then you need to learn the operating manual for the equipment you have in place.  Not sure what your situation is and what you have to work with other than Illustrator.

  • How do I print single envelopes on my hp office jet Pro 8600 premium

How do I print single evelopes on my hp  office jet Pro 8600 premium

    Hi B4567
I understand you would like to know how to print a single envelope.
I have provided a document on how to print envelopes. There is also a video included.
You could use the one tray for envelopes and the other one for paper so you don't have to keep pulling out the stack of paper to print one envelope all the time.
    Hope that helps.

  • Cant print single PDF pages

Trying to print single PDF pages, forced to print all pages sent via email.
Dialog box has greyed out page selection portion.
    Samsung Galaxy S4.
HP App loaded from Google Play.
    HP 4500 Envy.
    Thank you

    Hi Thurstonthe3rd,
When sending an email, the eprint server will consider the full document as the print job and will print all the pages of the document. This is expected behavior.
If you want to print selected pages from your pdf first save that page as a seperate pdf and then emailthe saved pdf to the printers email ID to print.

    Oliver

  • How does one print single photos using iPhoto. I keep getting an error message:No Available Themes

How does one print single photos using iPhoto. I keep getting an error message:No Available Themes

You need to reinstall iPhoto. To reinstall iPhoto delete the current application and, on all Macs with Snow Leopard or earlier installed, all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the:
    HD/Library/Receipts folder (10.5 and earlier)
    or from the /var/db/receipts/  folder (10.6) .
Deleting receipts is not necessary if your Mac came with Lion or later preinstalled.
Then install iPhoto from the source it came from originally.

  • HT4356 How can we print single pages, such as 1,4 and 8 instead of printing all pages?

On an iPad, how can we print single pages 1, 4 or  8 or 2, 4 and 7 instead of having to print all pages?

    Thanks, Alex!
ok, I try first approach in print4.vi, but Labview return an error (view jpg); if I cut From, To controls, the VI print all pages. The same things happen also if I trasform I32 in Variant.
I don't try second approach, because at this time I have only one report
I try also with VB macro: this is better (print3.vi) but.....if I use:
    Sub Print_Pages_From_To()
    ActiveDocument.ActiveWindow.PrintOut Range:=wdPrintFromTo, From:="2", To:="3"
    End Sub
is ok; print the pages selected; if I use:
    Sub PrintPages()
    ActiveDocument.ActiveWindow.PrintOut  Pages:="2-3"
    End Sub
    printer print all pages.
    what do you think?

  • Printing separations with applescript

Hello, i have a lil bit of a problem with the following script so if someone just drop a hint i would appreciate it:
    Platform:
    MacOsX Leopard 10.4.11
    Indesign CS 2.0
    The values defined are:
thedoc = document 1 of the Indesign Application
    pPages = a single number (e.g.: 2)
presetUsed = string, name of the preset(in this case a preset with output set to separations and application built-in trapping)
pcolors = string of colors to be printed in csv form, eg: Pantone XXX,Process Black ... etc.
    tell print preferences of theDoc
set page range of print preferences of theDoc to pPages
set (active printer preset) to presetUsed
set profile to "Generic CMYK Profile"
    set bleed bottom to 10
    set bleed top to 10
    set bleed inside to 10
    set bleed outside to 10
    set mark offset to 0
set (print ink of every ink of theDoc) to false
set AppleScript's text item delimiters to ","
if length of text items of pColors > 1 then
set tItems to (text items of pColors)
    repeat with vC in tItems
set (print ink of ink vC of theDoc) to true
    end repeat
    else
set (print ink of ink pColors of theDoc) to true
    end if
    end tell
    tell theDoc
    print without print dialog
    end tell
Now the problem: the problem is that when printing with the "print without print dialog" option, the program just prints all the plates ignoring the settings in the print preferences declaration. This is not the same when the "print with print dialog" option is used. When using that option everything seems to be fine. However i need to work it out without using the print dialog. Any help regarding this issue is highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance and wish ya a wonderful day.

Thanks for your reply Kasyan. I really appreciate it.
However the script i'm trying to work out is doing exactly the things that you've mentioned (having a printer preset that is set as the active printer preset) except that my script is modifying a few settings of that preset(that's because i need a lot of custom printing, and having a separate preset for each one would make me create a dozen presets). However the thing that i dun really get is why this works when using the print display dialog, and why it doesn't work without the print dialog. The thing that i really dun seem to understand ... why if i add after the "tell preferences" end tell the line:
set numberOfActiveInks to (every ink of theDoc whose print ink is true)
display dialog ((length of numberOfActiveInks) as string)
will show the "correct" number of inks i want to be printed, but when it goes printing them it just prints them all. I'm pretty sure i'm overlooking something here but i dun seem to find out what exactly.
Thanks again for your time and have a wonderful day.

  • I cannot print single checks with my brand new HP Laserjet 500. Full page checks OK.

Win 7, Quicken 2012R5, HP Color Laserjet 500. I can print full page of check fine. A single check prints by starting at the middle of the check, not at the end. Checks are inserted end-wise into the manual feed drop down. Quicken says it is an HP Printer problem. The Quicken "adjust" method only allows for movement of the printing by a few hundredths of an inch.  I need to move the print several inches. Appreciate any help you can offer. I tried HP support and was told to telephone, then got stuck forever on the que.......

I can understand the frustration both of you have experienced.
The product you have is a commercial printer. I suggest posting in the forum for HP Business Support for a better chance at finding a solution.

  • Adobe 9.5x converter printer "Single Page Continuous"

We use the Adobe 9.5.1 PDF Converter Printer to create PDF documents from other programs. In Adobe we have Edit | Preferences | Page Display | Page Layout set to "Single Page Continuous". This seems to only be applied when creating documents inside Adobe Acrobat. When using the Adobe PDF printer it's not applying this setting to the documents it's creating.
There doesn't appear to be a "Single Page Continuous" or another page layout option in the Printer Properties. Is there a setting we can turn on in the Adobe 9.x printer?

The Create PDF Printer instance is just a mechanism to send postscript files to Acrobat Distiller for Printing. In Distiller, I could find no joboptions setting to do what you wish.

  • How do I print duplex via AppleScript?

Hello - I am new to applescript and having a bit of difficulty trying to get started. My initial goal is fairly straightforward: each day (via an iCal action) download a specific URL and print it. Specifically, it's my daily newspaper and I'd like it waiting on the printer in the morning.
Most things worked very well via Automator, but I can't specify print options going that route (at least as far as I know). So, it my first good reason to learn AppleScript. However, I've perused quite a few sites and searched this forum, but can't figure out how to specify printer options like two sided printing.
Can anyone please point me in the right direction.
Not sure if you need this, but the printer type is a canon ip4300

When you say "Adobe", do you mean Acrobat or Reader (for PDFs), or one of Adobe's many other programs?
Usually, the option to print duplex is part of the print driver, and should appear in the print dialog regardless of the application.
Some apps have their own front to the print dialog, but you should still be able to get the rest of it.
The orientation is usually controlled by specifying Long Edge or Short Edge.

  • Printing Single Page as 2-UP in Pages

I have printing question. I'm attempting to print from Pages, but the issue I'm having probably applies to printing from any application in OSX.
I want to print a single-page document, two copies per page (2-Up) from Pages. The problem seems to be with the one page-ness of the document. The print dialogue allows for 2 pages per sheet printing, but it only works if your document has more than one page. I need it to pring the same page twice per page.
Is is possible to print this way in OSX Lion?
    Thanks.

    BMack,
Have you thought about having a 2-page document where the second page is a duplicate of the first page?

  • Account statement printing - single spool requests

    Dear SAP experts,
We would like to use print program RFKORD10 for correspondence type SAP06 (account statements for customers) to print account statements for a range of customers, so in mass processing. I see that the standard behaviour of the program is to put the output in 1 spool request.
Is there any possibility to create a single spool request per account statement / customer? This would be helpful when converting spool requests to a PDF file, in order to send the statements by email.
    Regards,
    Mark

    Hi Khanna,
I tried that option at first place only. It results in multiple Print Popups. I want to avoid this. For all spool print requests, I want to show ONLY ONE Print Popup.
    Thanks.
