Printer Job Title

I am using the Crystal Report version who is integrated with MS Vs2008 Prof.
Is  there any way to specify print job name when printing report? I'm failing to find it.
In print spooler all jobs from Crystal are appearing as "document" and people can't recognize different reports.
My Vb.Net code to print the report (crSupplerList) is,
Dim crRpt As CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportClass = crSupplerList
crRpt.SetDataSource(myDataSet)
crRpt.PrintOptions.PrinterName = "\\My-pc\HP LaserJet 6L"
crRpt.PrintToPrinter(1, False, 0, 0)
Please correct my if this isn't the best way.
Thanks in advance

I tested this with CR 2008 (did not have Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 image running), but in that version, the job is shown as Crystal Reports - <name of repost as per Summary title info>.
I'll try this in CR 105 tomorrow, but in the meantime, I'd like to ensure that you have SP 1:
https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009351512008E/crbasic2008sp1.exe
Let me know if SP 1 helped.

  • Printer Queue - How can I hide print job title and username?

    Hi,
    Does anyone know if it is possible to hide print job title and username in the printerqueue?
    Because of our privacy agreement we would like to hide this information,
    Workstation OS: Windows 7 x64
    Printserver : MS 2008 R2
    Thanks in advance
    Mark

    Not the user name but the job name is changed to Print Document when the print jobs are sent to Server 2012 and 2012R2.
    There is no Windows feature like this in 2008R2.  There are third party products that include job rename features for 2008R2

    In Address Book we can print name, address and the business if we want to. We need to print the job titles with the name, the address and the business. Is it possible in the app Address Book from Apple? If not, is there an app that would give us the flexibility to do it?

  • Change Print Job Name

    I have a VB.NET Windows program that load a Report file with rpt.Load(ReporFile) and after send to printer with rpt.PrintToPrinter(NumberofCopy, False, 0, 0).  I want to change the print job title. I see another  post: How to set  the CR print job name that displayed in Printer job queue? with this solution:
    CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers.PrintReportOptions prnOpts;
    prnOpts.JobTitle = "hello world";
    but I don't know how to get PrintReportOptions from my ReportClientdocument. The only I know it's rdc.PrintOutputController.GetPrintOptions but this retunrn a PrintOptions object that don't have JobTitle property.
    Can someone help me ?
    thanks Filippo

    You will need to create this object and set its properties.
    The majority of properties are not ones that you will read out of the report's printoptions anyways (ie number of copies, Jobtitle, page ranges etc)
    so simply use something like:
    PrintReportOptions prOpts = new PrintReportOptions();
    prOpts.JobTitle = "Hello World";
    prOpts.AddPrinterPageRange(1,1);
    rcd.PrintOutputController.PrintReport(prOpts);

    Hi @Expeditor394
    Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I see that you would like to learn more about printing from your Kindle to your Officejet 6700 printer.
    I have included the Printing from Kindle document. The last FAQ in the document is “How do I connect my Kindle to the same Wi-Fi network as my HP printer?”. It will walk you connecting the two devices.
    If you are still unable to print from your Kindle, please call HP’s Cloud Services at 1-855-785-2777 if you live in the USA/Canada region. If you live outside the USA/Canada region please click here to find the Technical Support number for your country/region.

  • How to include the URL in the name of the print job when printing from FF

    We log all print activity in our company and it would be helpful to be able to identify print jobs from Firefox, however as only a web page's <TITLE> content is used as the print job name, I was wondering if there was a way to either use the URL as the print job name, or even prefix the print job name as "Mozilla Firefox" to identify jobs from this application?

    Thank you for your reply but that's the print job content, i.e. page header / footer will have the URL typed into it. I'm after the name of the print job, i.e. as it appears in the print queue. For that I cannot find an option.
    I'm wondering whether a plug-in could do this, replace the normal print function with an identical one that uses the URL as the print job name.

  • Job titles: training/elearning design vs graphic design/communications design

    Hello everyone,
    I realize this is not a typical 'Captivate' quiestion, and I've posed it to some networking groups on LinkedIn, etc., but I wanted to ask it to this niche community as well:
    I started out 3 years ago as a Training Documentation Specialist with my current company, but my title and my description need to be updated as the position/role has expanded to include more graphic design and communication (intranet/internet) tasks in the past few years.
    I'm just wondering if there are any other members that design training collateral for companies, either in print or via elearning, among other various graphic design and communications work?
    So, by design, I mean this person may have influence on the the material but has a background in graphic design as opposed to instructional design.
    If there are any members out there with similar roles, I'd like to gain your insight and review job titles and/or descriptions, if possible.
    Thanks!
    Kate Lawless

    I think that you'll be just fine with the Retina display model - the 13" models, while upgradeable as far as RAM and SSD, don't have processor and graphics cards that are up to speed for photo and video editing. And more and more software (including Adobe Photoshop) is now 'Retina-ready'.
    Yes, you're taking a chance on the screen IR - it has been a problem for some people but not for all. LG panels seem to have the more prevalent IR while some Samsung panels are said to have a 'tinting' problem. WIth any luck, you'll get a screen with no IR and no tints.
    If you do get a 'bad' screen, you can always, as many people in the discussion you mention have done, just keep returning it until you get a 'perfect' screen.
    Had I not purchased my non-Retina late 2011 model in March of this year, I might have been tempted to go down the Retina road. While I agree with you about having trepidation over purchasing a first-generation product, most of the 'issues' with the Retina display models have been 'fixed' with software updates.
    I think that you made the right decision for your needs.
    Good luck,

  • Print Job visibility on shared print queues

    Hello all,
    Quick scenario, where print server has a print queue shared with several clients. Each user is sending jobs using this shared queue. Is it possible that users only see their print jobs when opening the print queue, instead of all jobs, from other users,
    being sent to that print queue.
    I am aware that you can mask the job title and job owner, from the driver prespective. Nevertheless I am wondering if there is something from a service or policy prespective that can be applied globally to all printer, independely of the print driver in
    use.
    Thanks

    Yes.   The client will not matter.  The driver version or Type will not matter.
    The documentation is extremely limited.  Most of the 2012 What's new in..... was overwritten with the What's new in 2012R2.
    But what the heck.  I always go the extra mile for people wishing to deploy print servers.   There has been a patch release where you can add the true document name in the print event logged.  There are ways to determine the queue view
    true document name but code would need to be written and compiled.
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj134163.aspx
    When printing to a Windows Server 2012 print queue, only users with administrator permissions on the print queue (full system administrator or delegated print administrator, see
    Assign Delegated Print Administrator and Printer Permission Settings in Windows Server 2012) will see readable document names when viewing the print queue.  Users can still view the
    queue from their client computer and will see their own document name in full, but for other user’s print jobs they will see
    Print Document for the document name.
    Additionally, in most cases in the event log on the server, the document name will also appear as
    Print Document.  However, in some job failure cases, the document name will be listed in the failure event.

  • HP Officejet 6500 E709n hesitates on last page of print job

    When I send a print job to my printer, the last page hesitates approximately one minute before it completes.  If there is only one page, this page hesitates.  I am connected to it wirelessly.  This does not occur when I send a print job from my laptop.

    According the HP web site, it was supposed to be "Pro's" and "Experts" answering our questions.  If there are too few to handle the volume, it should have not been advertised like that.  In the real world, that's called false advertising.  The answer provided by the "Student" was too much of "canned' answer.  I've read that in several posts.  However, this does not solve the problem with my printer.
    I want to know why my printer does what it does when a print job is sent from my desktop, but not from my laptop.
    OK, a couple of things:  this forum is a user to user forum where folks try to help out other folks (and some appreciate that). The "expert" designation next to some names recognizes folks who have demonstrated some degree of expertise, but these folks do not work for HP and are not paid to be here - they are volunteers.  The "pro" designation is given to the experts who happen to work for HP.  In some cases, such as an HP employee who just signed up for the forum the day before Expert Days the "pro" label may not have been applied.
    For your actual technical issue is may be best if you would please read this post then provide some details.  You made no mention in your first post of a laptop machine on the same network that does not have the issue.  You also have not mentioned what operating systems are on either computer, or what kind of networking you have.  Providing adequate details may get you better answers, but if you choose to only listen to folks with a particular title next their name you will limit the number of folks who will bother to answer you.

  • Print Job Disappears

    Hi all. I'm having an issue with my work computer not printing. I send a print job to the printer and it simply disappears from the queue with no error message. I have updated all drivers, reset the printing system several times, and still no luck. The computer can recognize the printers (I've tried multiple), and seems to display their current status and print queue just fine.
    Computer: intel iMac OS 10.8.1
    Printers: Dell 2350dn laser printer, HP designjet 130nr, both setup and connected via IP.
    Thanks in advance.

    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.
    Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
    Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Try the action that you're having trouble with again. Post any messages that appear in the Console window – the text, please, not a screenshot.
    When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.

  • HP Laserjet utility starts and fails to go away after print job

    I have an HP Laserjet 1300 hooked to an Airport base station. After the Leopard install (a default, Upgrade install from 10.4.10), I had to re-ADD that printer in the Print & FAX Preferences panel -- it wasn't simply remembered. That went fine, and printing works as expected.
    EXCEPT: The HP Laserjet 1300 "utility" application (for managing the print queue) now activates with each print job -- not just when there is a problem such as "out of paper" as before. No problems are actually reported during or after the print job. And when the print job finishes, it doesn't go away. I have to manually Quit it.
    I can't find any option to have the "utility" activate only when it has some problem to report (i.e., the way it worked under Tiger), or to make it go away automatically when all print jobs are finished. Any suggestions?
    NOTE: When ADDing the printer in the Print & FAX utility, it did go looking for "new drivers", but didn't announce it found or installed anything new.

    Thank you. That's what I was looking for:
    Right click on the printer utility icon in the dock when you see it still sitting in there. Select "Auto Quit" from the pop up menu. Click on the utility to select it and open its queue window. Manually quit the utility.
    After those steps it appears the utility now activates in the dock and then goes away after each print job that finishes normally.
    Solved!

  • How to Capture print jobs and Data with WIN32 API?

    My organization has about 5 network printers and copiers to which a computer can print. What I'd like to do is build, if possible, a simple JAVA program to intercept what the users are printing (from any application) and capture certain information about the print jobs before it gets sent off to the specified printer.
    For example, when a user selects print from the menu in MS Word, and after the Ok button is pressed on the printers dialog window, have my program then pop up asking the user to fill in specific information (who they want to charge for the print job...this is typically an internal billing code, etc.).
    The program would have to capture the name/driver of the printer users are printing to, the document they printed, number of pages, number of copies, date/time, etc.
    Is/are there Windows API's to help in my programming of this application? I've been, unsuccessfully, searching MSDN, web sites, etc. on how to intercept/detect a print job. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks ahead of time...

    Hi,
    Printing is nothing to do with database transaction. SP will not apply here. You may only try SDK.
