Printing Error without message

In trying to print a basic document, I'm getting an error message without any message:
InDesign 5, OSX 10.6.x. Since there's no message, I'm not sure where to start

Problem solved, it was a bad font, of all things. I was using Gentium 1.02 in the document, and changing that for Geneva made the error go away. I was able to download a newer version of Gentium and swap it in, and all continues to work. It would have been nice to get a real error from ID but at least the problem is solved

Thanks so much for the response back, however, I have one additional problem to accomplish the solution to my problem and reset the product: I can't remove the ink cartridges because the cartridge mechanism wants to go left to right, but does not. It makes a double clicking noise and then nothing. I've also went through the steps to move the ink cartridge mechanism, left to right, to check for any paper jammed/stuck, there wasn't any and manually the cartridge does move with ease. I made sure to follow all the steps outlined on the HP help site to accomplish that. One additional point: when I did move the ink cartridge mechanism to the left, I noticed on the right side of the slide bar the ink cartridge mechanism slides on, there is a lot of ink that appears to have leaked out. Could the connections be gunked up to the degree that the printer software is compromised? This is what the readout says:
General Printer Error (Not ink error)

Press OK to continue
When I press OK the readout is "Now printing", it wants to go through the motions (ink cartridge mechanism sounds like it wants to go left to right), but nothing happens but the double clicking sound. Then the screen goes back to General Error message. Should I try reseting the printer as outlined on the page you gave but without removing the cartridges?

Printer error ICC comes up when I try to print. What is wrong?

I am having trouble printing the scrapbook pages that I have created. There is an error message that pops up saying that I need to install a printer before I can print! I have a printer installed! I went to Help, it suggested that I uninstall the printer, which I did twice! And I also, insalled the Photoshop onto another laptop, which also gives me a similar message!
Seems like a glitch or something! Any help you could give me will be most appreciated!

Tried all the 3 stages of troubleshooting,was also confronted by Another ERROR message in the email that I tried in vain to send to HPsupport because I couldn't remember the product #.This is why I'm forced to go on this page in a last desperate bid to get answers to why my printer won't go any further than this confounded error message on the screen.Also my phone doesn't work so I can't ring them!

I understand you have tried some troubleshooting for the printer error you're seeing. I am going to give you all of my thoughts and suggestions for this issue.

Also: Ensure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help greatly.
Removing the ink cartridges.
Unplugging the printer.
Dampening a lint free cloth or cotton swab with bottled water.
Gently cleaning off the electrical contacts from the cartridges.
Waiting for the contacts to dry.
Re-seating them back in the printer.
Plugging the printer back in.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you, such as a replacement or trade in. Solution Import Error without message

Hey Guys,
i have got troubles importing a default-solution (CRM 2013). The import procceds up to about 80% and fails. The strange thing is that the import diaolog does not contain any error-message-row as usual.
If you look at the import-log you can not find any error message again. It seems that de import just stops. You can find the import log below.
Does anybody know about this issue (it looks like there is something wrong with the sitemap-clientextention):

I tried some furhter imports. If I import my solution to a new, blank organisation it will succeed. It seems to fail only on the my exitsting organisation, which i want to update with new functioniality.
Are there any other timeouts, beside the web.conifg-settings I already did?

BPC NW 7.5SP09: OwnershipCalc error without message

I am running the OWNERSHIPCALC process chain through a BPC package and it generates the required records successfully. However the status of the package is always error.. The only message I receive is: "Application: Ownership Package status: ERROR". Do you have any idea of which could be the error source?

Error 13 message when trying to addd Canon printer

We have a Canon IP2000 USB printer, which we have been using with our Imac for about 8 months. Suddenly we got a failed communication message and it would not print anything. The printer still works when connected to my ibook and it did still print test sheets. We have tried numerous things without success.
We have now uninstalled it and tried to reinstall but Printer setup utility now locates the printer but then comes up with a message saying unable to add printer error 13.
It is very frustrating being unable to print.

Generic print fixes - do these one at a time. Restart and try adding after.
Delete and re-ADD the printer(s) in Printer Setup.
Repair permissions (Disk Utility).
Delete Print Prefs - search for (File>Find) files that start with com.apple.print and delete them all and reboot.
Reset Printing System (new in Tiger) - In Printer Setup, click this menu item found just above Quit Printer Setup.
If there is a downloadable Combination Updater from Apple, use it to re-Update OS X.
Try Printer Setup Repair from www.fixamac.net.
Use a Disk Utility like Disk Warrior to repair the HD.

How can I print emails? Printing Error message that no printers are installed. (Printers are installed.)

When I click File > Print, I get a Printing Error message that no printers are installed. Printers are installed. When I click Yes to install a new printer, I receive a new error message that "Windows can't open Add Printer / The local print spooler service is not running. Please restart the spooler or restart the machine." I updated to the new version of Thunderbird 24.6.0. Using Windows 8. I restarted the machine. I confirmed printers are installed using Control Panel. I do not see any way to restart a print spooler. How can I fix this? Thanks.

The print spooler is a windows service and is required to print. I would hazard a guess you can not print with any application.
What I am saying is I think your windows instalation has a problem, not Thunderbird.

Can I print a Mail message without multiple recipient names?

Is there a way to print a Mail message without having also to print the dozens of recipients, where that's the case? I can't see an obvious way, but I'm sure I used to be able to do this. I'd be grateful if anyone knows how.

PO Approval stuck in error without any Error message

we have few notifications for PO Approval where they are stuck in error without any error message. they are also not showing in the worklist of the approver nor in the wf_notifications table. please help on this on how to solve this. we have done various options to solve the issue like skip/rewind/suspend/retry. but none of them works..... below is an extract of such an notification -

Please post the details of the application release, database version and OS.
Can you find any errors in the Workflow log file?

Acrobat Pro 8: When I print to pdf I get windows print error message

This just started happening when I installed my acrobat professional 8.0 on my new computer (with Windows XP Pro). Everything works fine, but when I print a document to .pdf, I get that windows printer pop-up message that says that it was unable to print. As a consequence, I get a bunch of allegedly unprinted documents in my printer queue that I have to keep deleting. This is more an annoyance than anything else, but can anyone tell me how to stop this from happening??

OK, I'm still not sure I'm getting this, but I printed to file, and then opened the prn file in Acrobat Distiller. The actual pdf file was not in the folder, but I could open it with distiller.

However, when I just print "regularly" (not, "to file") the pdf file is saved and generated, but I get that popup error message, which stays in my printer queue, saying that there was an error printing to LPT 1

I am unable to print using firefox message is "unknown printer error" No problem with other browsers

I tried to print a coupon from an e-mail and the message I got was "unknown printer error". I am able to print from word and other items on my desktop and also from another browser. I cannot print anything using Firefox. I have not had any updates recently and the problem seems to have happened spontaneously. Can you help.

Thanks it worked. Actually I tried that before I posted my question. I went back and rechecked and I had missed one item. Turns out it made a difference. I can now print my coupons.
