Printing: ICC Color Managed -vs- Driver Managed
Hi,
I have a Dell U2410 monitor calibrated with a Datacolor Spyder4Express.
I have an inexpensive Canon 6220 (dye) and also a Canon 9550 Mark II printer (pigments).
I tried printing a test print from Picasa as well as from Adobe Elements and Lightroom.
We went through manh of the permuations of printing from each printer using the different print modes.
Observations:
0. all the prints look different. Some are passable some are not.
1. the Adobe ICC color managed prints from Lightroom and/or Elements don't look better (or closer to the U2410 calibrated monitor).
2. each print has strenghts and weakness (e.g. - too much red, blue is weak, etc.)
3. we viewed the prints in a variety of viewing environments.
Questions:
1. would printer profiling help at this juncture?
2. in reality are the actual printers different then the Canon ICC profiles?
3. do the printer profiling tools measure the distance (error) in the standard ICC profiles -vs- what was measured/computed?
Thanks in advance!
Too much Red (weak Blue) is a symptom of Double Profiling. I am guessing you are printing to profile in Lightroom and failing to turn off the Windows-based color management.
In your Canon Print Dialog (9550) Main tab, Color/Intensity setting. Click the Manual button and then the [Set…]
This takes you to the Manual Color Adjustment dialog. On the Matching tab, set Color Correction to None
Now go back to Lightroom and print using the Printer/Paper profile.

Cs6- need to enable printer's color management in Print settings dialogue box
I have been printing successfully for months to my Epson R2400. Suddenly, I am getting a Caution Triangle with a note that says "Remember to enable the printer's color management in the print settings dialog box. I have selected Color Handling: Printer manages in the Photoshop Print Settings box. Where else would I make this change.
Just select Photoshop Manages Color, and the printer driver color options should be disabled.

How to disable the printer's color management in Photoshop CS5 with Mavericks?
Hi there, does anyone know how to disable the printer's color management in Photoshop CS5 with Mavericks? There doesn't seem to be an option. Could you help? Many thanks
Just select Photoshop Manages Color, and the printer driver color options should be disabled.

How do I print without color management in CS6?
EVery time I print a test target for color profiling, I open CS4 so that I can print with no color management. I can't figure out how to do it in CS6. I must be missing something obvious, but I just can't find the option to print without color management anywhere in the CS6 driver.
As someone who prints Digital Negatives (there are quite a few of us out there now), the ability to print without color management is a huge liability. Why would you take that out of Photoshop and create a completely seperate application to do this? From inside photoshop, I can print with registration marks (necessary for multi-negative prints).
So now there's Lightroom to manage the locations, open up Photoshop to apply curves and then figure a way to add registration marks to the file itself, the print from another app altogether.
Even just the ability to add profiles (AdobeRGB tagged file, then print with photoshop manage color, AdobeRGB profile) works in this situation.. but for some reason.. you've decided to pick and choose which profiles we can and can't use.
... unhappy with CS6

So, CAN I turn off the printer's color management? Pixma Pro-100.
So, I am trying to turn off the color management function for the Pro-100...
On my Windows desktop, I use Photoshop to print with Canson Rag 210, color profile installed, allow photoshop to manage colors and print a beautiful, perfect print with the Mark 9000. Now, I have the Pixma Pro-100 and using the exact same settings, I print wirelessly with my laptop, and I get these dark, red/orange hued prints that are atrocious.
I should mention the same exact photograph printed between setups ALWAYS prints better with the Mark 9000 and my desktop. However, when using my laptop and the Mark 9000... Crap. Laptop and Pixma Pro-100... Crap. What is my MAC doing that my desktop is not?! How can identical settings print such drastic results? Photoshop does warn me (newer version on my MAC vs. Windows) to turn off the printer's color management in the printer's settings, but I do not see that option. Maybe I'm missing it? How do I do that? I'm thinking it may help!Have you tried printing from the MacBook using Canon Print Studio Pro or letting printer manage colors? I know this doesn't specifically answer your question, but PSP is designed to handle the PS/printer interface.
Download PSP 1.3.5 from the Canon support site.

[oracle@aris_sv_db log]$To see which ODBC function DG4ODBC is looking for and unixODBC isn't supporting it would be best to get an ODBC trace file. But as your unixODBC driver (unixODBC-2.2.11-10.el5) is outdated and these old drivers had a lot of issues when being used on 64bit operating systems (for example wrong sizeofint etc). So best would be to update the unixODBC Driver manager to release 2.3.x. More details can be found on the web site: www.unicodbc.org

Hi,
I'm running
Red Hat Linux 5, MySQL and BOXI 3.1
I try and schedule a report in the CMC and the report fails with the error

I've went through the steps in the Bus Obj's Documentation outlining how to install the unixODBC (though this doco was for R2 - I'm not certain whether this install is needed for 3.1).

I have recently purchased a Mac computer (updated to Maverick) to go with my Epson Stylus Photo RX500 printer which has given excellent service with my old Windows computer. However, when trying to print pictures or photos via Photoshop Elements 11, the best results I can get are using the Colour Management and Epson Colour controls in the printing options box.
My problem is that after printing the first photo or picture, when I come to print a second, both the Colour Management and Epson Colour Controls are greyed out and showing No Colour Management, The only way I can reset the controls is to shut down the printer and computer and restart.
Could there may be a setting somewhere that I need to adjust please? I have been in touch with Epson and they say that the Epson Colour controls are part of the Photoshop Elements software but a post on the Adobe forum brought no results and I am unable to contact Adobe.
<Edited by Host>Hello Garry. Thanks for the reply. I guess I should have used a different title from "How do I post a question?" That should come after trying to resolved the colour settings first. However, to answer your question, after experimenting with all the different settings in Photoshop Elements and Epson software, I now start with PSE11 Colour settings then click "no colour management" then after clicking Print, I choose "More Options/Colour Management/Colour Handling/Printer Manages Colour" then I choose "Page Setup/Layout/Colour Matching" which then shows Epson Colour Controls but I also choose "Layout/Colour Management" which then shows "Colour Controls/Mode" I then of course choose an Epson printer profile depending on the paper I am using. I get good results but as I said, the Colour Matching and Colour Controls are then greyed out. Hope that makes sense.

Vista X64 Drive Management Snap-In Error with SD Cards
I have someone with an W700, 2752-3KG, running Vista X64, raid 1 configuration with factory image. The system also has a VM with XPP X86 in case it proves relevant.
Everything works like a dream, except for one thing which has got us completely stumped. When an SD card is inserted it is recognized as new hardware as expected. There is no autorun, i.e. Open folder / play music window, as this was disabled when the VM was set up. In drive management the SD card will be shown, but alas not assigned a drive letter. Any attempt to assign a drive letter results in the following message; (translated from German to English using translate.google.com)
"The operation could not be completed because the view
of the Disk Management snap-ins is not current. Refresh your view with the
update task. If the problem persists, close the Disk Management snap-in, and
then restart the Disk Management snap-in or the computer."
[Original screenshot attached 203KB]
The usual routine of updating / rolling back of drivers, uninstalling the hardware etc. etc has been tried to no avail.
The SD cards work fine on other TPs including W700s with Vista X64, X86 and XPP X86, they also work fine on this system when using an USB card reader
What hasn't been tried is running a recovery to another hdd. As the system is used daily this would mean blowing part of a weekend. And if a weekend is going to be partly blown, then I'd rather blow it completely and reinstall everything from scratch which would be a shame because, as previously stated, everything else is running 110%.
Has anyone experienced similar? Any ideas? I've searched MS thoroughly without finding anything
Thanks in advance

snapinerror.jpg 204 KBYou may want to try a few different SD cards, there are apparently some which do not play well with Vista.
Personally I haven't had any issues with a 2GB SanDisk SD card running as ReadyBoost in an X61 under Vista Ultimate x64.

ERROR [IM002] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified in windows server 2008 r2.I made a application in asp.net c#.I am using ODBC connection. When I deployed my application in windows server2008 r2.There
is no Microsoft ODBC driver shown in ODBC Data source administrator. Then I go to the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 and open Odbcad32.exe and add Microsoft ODBC2 driver for Oracle and when I run my application I got following error
ERROR [IM002] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified
I am using follwoing string
<connectionStrings>
<add name="theconnetion" connectionString="DSN=abdb;UID=abc;PWD=xyz"/>
</connectionStrings>
Guide me What I do?Did you add a System DSN or a User DSN? If you added a User DSN from your own login, the asp.net application will not be able to use it unless its application Pool in IIS is configured to run under the same credentials that you used for creating
the DSN. It's better if you add a System DSN.
Also, be careful to ensure that you are using a 64 bit DSN, unless you configure the application to run in 32 bits. If the 64 bit application attempts to use the 32 bit driver you get the same error message "Data source name not found and no default
driver specified". See this KB article:

1) Crystal Report 2013 doe snot install any SDK. Thus the assumption is that you are using CR from teh following link:
SAP BusinessObjects - SAP Crystal Reports, Version For Eclipse Download
2) Since you are using a 64 bit connection (Oracle Client 11g 62 bit ODBC driver) you will have to make sure you are using 64 bit JVM. Otherwise, follow Dell's advice and use a 32 bit ODBC datasource.
3) On one test you are using Oracle Client 10g 32 bit ODBC driver and the other you are using Oracle Client 11g 64 bit ODBC driver. You might want to see if you can run your app using Client 11g 32 bit ODBC driver.

T440s Fingerprint Manager Pro Driver no longer working
Hi all,
I just recently updated the Fingerprint Manager Pro Driver to the latest version 8.01.35.
Now during the installation, an error pops up saying the "the plugin version does not match with the version of omnipass" however the installation still continues and finishes.
I click on the biometric devices in Windows 7 control panel, it is enabled. Then I clicked on the Fingerprint Manager, it says "Windows biometric support must be enabled to use this application. Enable biometrics in the Windows Control Panel."
Previous driver version workedSame problem with X1 Carbon. Happened after uninstalling and reinstalling Synaptics Trackpad drivers.

Hey everyone, So I am trying to get a report onto the server, and in BIDS I kept getting a login screen repeating over and over when I tried to deploy my report, so I tried to upload the file at http://<servername>/Reports This worked, but then trying
to run this report from http://<servername>/Reports did not work either because "An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted) Cannot create a connection to data source 'FTYDataSource'. (rsErrorOpeningConnection) For more information
about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors" Anyways I tried to add a New Data Source (which I would use in the report) at http://<servername>/Reports, type ODBC, with the connection string Dsn=blah_blahblah.
I try to test the connection here and get the error ERROR [IM002] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified This is really getting old fast, everything I try, a new error comes up. Granted I am new at this,
but this still should not be this troublesome. Does anyone have any ideas on what could FINALLY allow me to just put a report out onto the server?!? THANK YOU in advance for ANY help.Hi,
Please try setting the credentials of the datasource.
1. Double click and open the datasource in your project.
2. Click on the credentials tab, and click on option button 'Use this username and password'
3. Enter the username and password to connect to the datasource
4. Deploy or upload the datasource to the report server and try accessing the reports.
Hope this helps.
