Printing to specific coordinates

Is there any java methond that allows you to print a string to specific coordinates (row, column)in console mode? I have looked at System.out.println and System.out.print methods but did not see an option for this.

No. Since Java is platform independant, pure Java does not know how to access system dependent commands to print out in specific places in a console. One option to get this functionality could be to integrate C code to make the specific calls to the console. Another messier option is to reprint enough of the console so that everything scrolls N lines if you know that the user's console will only be displaying N rows. I hope this helps!

I tried this Finder drag method & discovered that it is very important to set the blank TextEdit document to plain text before the drag (from the format menu or with Cmd-shift-t). If you don't, TextEdit attempts to load the content of the files!
Once I discovered this, I tried the method with Find (Cmd-F) results & it works for that, too. This means that by choosing the right combination of search location(s) & search criteria, you can extend the method to filter the list to just about any files you want, which could be very handy.
For instance, set the "Kind" criteria to "QuickTime Movie" & location to "Computer" & you get a list of every QT movie. Or set the search location to the folder containing the movies of interest & you get all of them, including ones in subfolders. You could also use the 'date created' or other search criteria to filter the list to a specific subset of movies (or whatever).
If you need to do this often, you could create one or more 'Smart Folders' with the criteria preloaded for each search.
The only drawback I see for either Finder based method is the full path one. If you are getting results from just one or a few folders, Find & Replace can delete any of the path name fairly easily, but it becomes a chore if there are a lot of different ones. Some other text editor, like TexEdit Pro, that supports grep searches would be handy here, but since I'm not up to speed on grep, someone else will have to explain how to use it for this, if they want.

How to print a specific page from the internet

I have tried to print a specific page, and get about seven pages that are linked to it, without
seeing the specific page I wanted printed out. The page settings under printer only lists header and footer
info, and no choices to print only this page or frame. There is no way to print one specific page on this printer?
I always was able to do this with the Epson printer I just replaced, but unable to with this printer.
Please help! There must be a way to do this when printing from the internet. Thanks for any help.

I don't have any idea what you are trying to print, nor do I wish to know. Smiling.
The key may be to control this in Print Preview like you would with most things when you are printing from a Browser.

Adobe reader XI 11.0.0 error message The document could not be printed while printing a specific doc

Hi,
When trying to print a specific document i receive an error : The document could not be printed.
After that : There was no pages selected to print.
There must be something in the PDF document but i can't find out what.
When i do a Quick Print with the right mous on the attachment in the e-mail than the PDF file is printed.

I had same problem with Reader v11 and tried many of the suggestions. Finally I read a question, have you tried the Repair Adobe Reader Installation? I had not and thought perhaps it was in Windows 7 control panel/programs where there are sometime options to repair. In this case, the link is in the Reader Help menu. I ran it, had to restart computer, and pdf files print now! Good Luck

Need help with scripting. I'm creating a Menu Page where in I list the PDF files and right beside it put a PRINT BUTTON which of course will print that specific PDF file. Is this doable or not?

but whenever i open any work item and choose to print it ,it prints all the tabs (General, activities, Results,…..including

No you can't modifiy the out of box prints.

Sure, I'll give it a test. Its just that I have a 128 page form that not all of it needs to be printed.
Currently, I have an index page where I want to set up a print button queues per form, however there are several form scattered throughout the document that make up a specific section, but it does not require printing the entire document. Does that make sense?

I'd like to print some specific sizes on one sheet of 17x22 paper (3800) as not to waste paper. So I'd like to print a 8x10, several 3.5 x 5 etc on one sheet if possible but cant figure it out.

In Photoshop, use File > Automate > Picture Package
Consult the Help files.
If none of the existing (preset) templates suits you, you can edit or create a new one in any text editor.
If you have InDesign, it can easily be done there, of course.

Is there a way in iPhoto '09 of printing to specific dimensions?

Copy the section you want to print, Insert a new Sheet into your document, Paste the copied contents into the Table that comes with that sheet. Print that sheet.
If this will be a regular need, you might consider building a breakout table to contain the data you'll print. A search for "breakout" should bring up some examples (or check some of the "More Like This" linke to the right.
Numbers doesn't support a means of printing a selected section of a document, probably because the design model is of a document containing many small specific purpose tables, rather than the single monolithic table that is the model in other spreadsheet applications.

Printing to specific printer and displaying report

Hi,
In Forms 10g via AS10g, I need to generate a report and print the output to a specific printer. How do I do this given that the AS Linus box cannot be mapped to various printers. The printer is also not necessarily the Client machine's default printer.
I suspect that the answer lies in using web.show_document with a html or javascript included in the url extension that directs the report to a printer. I have not been able to find out how, yet.

Disable Print for specific situations

I Use Adobe Pro X.
Is there a way to make a form not print if certain information is entered? For instance, some forms in our list are for specific clients only. If a user pulls up a form with the incorrect client, I want to add a script that disables the form from being printed or faxed. I already added script to display a warning message, but that won't prevent anyone from printing it - and then the recipient will receive the letter with the warning message - which is potentially worse than just receiving the wrong letter.

Tto detect a specific client, each system the client has would need a spacial file installed on it and the Organization filled in for the Identity object. This will be a real challenge.
Then once the print process is started there is no way to cancel it. You could unhide a hidden form filed and cover the content of the PDF. But then this could easily be defeated.
So in the end, it could be done, but you most likely will not be able to implement it outside of a given organization.

Use getSubImage method of BufferedImage. Something like:
Image originalImage = ImageIO.read(imageFile) ;// see ImageIO API
Image scaledImage = originalImage.getScaledInstance(40.40,90,90);
ImageIcon imageIcon = new ImageIcon(scaledImage);ImageIO.read is overloaded for files, inputStreams and URL's so you can choose how to load it.
