Printing to the wrong printer

we have a small network at home with three Macs (all running 10.6) and two laser printers (Brother b/w, HP color) the HP ColorLaser Jet is the latest device added to the network. The printers are on the network using Ethernet.
Everything worked fine so far but since three days on the MacBook the printers are mixed up. If I select the Brother as the printer to use I get all the options from the Brother driver but the paper will be printed by the HP printer ?!
First I suspect my daughter but I could see that "strange" behaviour myself. Why that, and more important how can this be fixed?

sure I won't. Indeed I have setup my DHCP server that way (there is an address range outside the dynamic range for devices that need fixed addresses). Just in case the router and firewall have fixed address - you never know.
But having fixed addesses for the LAN priters as well I have now five devices outside the dynamic range of the DHCP compared to the three notebooks?
But back to the issue of the wrong printer. What disappoints me is the fact that there is no error message. The system just works the wrong way around. You can choose your printer, you can choose the print layout and all the other options and at the end it fails (sending the data to the wrong device).
I know IT is still complicated behind the scene. But this situation should not happen.

I have a HP Desket 3050 all-in-one J610 and I am running Windows 7 64-bit.
I'm trying to print off some pages, first through google chrome and then through adobe reader, and the printer prints off the wrong pages. Eg, I told it to print of pages 41-64 odd only and I got all of the even pages. Now, if I try to print anything off, I get the odd page below and the settings are set to 'print all pages'. It was working fine a week ago and nothing's changed since then.
I tend to use fast draft paper quality as these are lectures notes and not particularly important, but I have tried the normal quality paper and it does the same thing.
Could anybody help?

Printing to PDF: prints the wrong page size and orientation

I am trying to print a simple 60 page document composed of 8 x 11 inch pages to a pdf. I want the pdf in spreads, so that 2 8x11 inch pages in portrait orientation will be next to each other as a spread. Each time I try to print, the pdf comes out in the wrong orientation or the wrong size or both. When I export it to a pdf, it is the right orientation and page size, but the file size is way too large. So how do I fix this annoying problem? I have tried adjusting the print setup but it still won't print right. This seems like a simple operation, but indesign has been giving me trouble with this for weeks. I should mention I'm using CC. Thank you.

Go to the AdminUI ( http://<servername>:<port>/adminui ), and to Services, PDF Generator. Pick File Type Settings, and click on the Standard entry. If you pop open the HTML to PDF section, you can edit the size, margins, orientation, headings and footers, site recursion, and pdf initial view settings. Save your settings as a new Filetype (you can make as many as you want), and pass the name the filetype as the second parameter to the call to the htmlToPDF method on the web service client. http://livedocs.adobe.com/livecycle/es/sdkHelp/programmer/javadoc/com/adobe/livecycle/g eneratepdf/client/GeneratePdfServiceClient.html I am unfamiliar with interacting directly with the web services via SOAP, so if you are not using the pre-built GeneratePdfServiceClient supplied by Adobe and this information does not solve your issue you will need to see if anybody else can help. I imagine that there is a similar String parameter where you place the Filetype name defined in the AdminUI. (edit: I should mention, the GeneratePdf service is a part of PDF Generator ES, not Output ES, so you may have better luck in the general Livecycle ES forum)

All pdf say they are the wrong file type or are damaged. will not allow to open in preview and no pdf's can be printed as they are "empty"

All PDF's I try to save will save but nobody can open them. Message is it cannot be opened by reader it is the wrong file type or has been damaged.
Tried to open with Preview and the message says it is empty, also empty if you try to sea as a PDF in the print option!

If you choose the incorrect settings for printing, yes - the print quality will be affected.
Different papers absorb the ink differently, so you can end up with prints that are too light, too dark, or have a colour cast if you make incorrect choices in your Aperture or printer settings.

The printer has the wrong icon

The printer has the wrong icon on one computer, the right on on the other.

I have a LaserJet 1320 at home, and a LaserJet 1200 in my pastor's study.
My MacBookPro connects to the LaserJet 1320 as a network printer and to the LaserJet 1200 directly by USB. My G5 iMac only connects to the LaserJet 1320 as a network printer.
On the MacBook Pro, the printers have the icons that look like them. On the iMac, the 1320 has the icon for the 1200!
I replaced my router at home, and in the process, deleted the printers from the iMac and reinstalled them.
On the iMac, the 1320 STILL has the icon for the 1200!
This is not exactly a life-threatening situation, but it is annoying. How do I fix it? Does anyone know where these icons live and what file specifies which icon goes with which printer?

I found the printer icons for HP on the iMac. There was no icon for the 1320 series, so it was defaulting to the icon for the 1300, which visually resembles the 1200.
It didn't occur to me until I had wasted a lot of time that the driver on the iMac predated the Intel Macs, and that the driver on the MacBook Pro must be newer. In the course of the day, I read that Software Update doesn't necessarily update drivers. So I went to the HP web site and discovered that they have a Universal driver. I downloaded and installed that, and it produced the correct icon.
Lesson: Occasionally check the printer manufacturer's web site for driver updates.

Why does my first page print great and all of the rest are the wrong orientation?

When I am viewing my PDFs in Adobe Reader, they look great. When I print them, the first page is correct and all of the rest are the wrong orientation.

PostScript feeding to the WRONG printer tray

I've got a real quandry here. I have a system that runs mainly character mode reports, but a few bitmaps. They used to print to the same tray as the character mode reports. I use a perl script to print all reports to a postscript file, and then lpr them from the UNIX server to which ever client is using the system.
This has all worked fine, but now, as I said, the bitmap reports print to the wrong tray. I have check to see if the is an SRW.SET_PRINTER_TRAY in any of my reports, and there is not, so none of them manually specify to change trays, but I found this in a current printing of the bitmap:

This is not in the older version of my reports.

EPrint from Android is printing to the wrong printer

This is very odd. I have a brand new OfficeJet 8500A that I just set up. I got ePrint configured and created an ePrint account, installed the ePrint app on my Android phone, and tried to test it. On the phone I put in my printer's ePrint email address, and it correctly identified it as an HP 8500A.
So then I went to try printing a test document, and it said it was going to print it to my 8500A - but it actually printed on my Photosmart 8450! The Photosmart is on the same home network ast he 8500A, but it doesn't do ePrint as far as I know. I think it predates the creation of ePrint. And in any case, I certainly never did any kind of configuration to tell ePrint to use it.
Can anyone explain why it's printing to the wrong printer?

The ePrint Center and ePrint functionality (the ability to send an email to your printer) is different than the ePrint Home and Biz app. The ePrint Home and Biz app can be used with printers that are on your local network. It is possible that you simply selected the 8450 in the dropdown menu on your android device. Please verify you have selected the correct printer and if so, we can do some further troubleshooting.

My web page uses svg images, but when the svg's are printed by Firefox they are rasterized at the wrong resolution.

I have produced a web page which uses svg images. One of these is here:

The svg's are produced by Adobe Illustrator, version CS5. Viewed in any browser the images look good at any magnification, but when I print the page in Firefox the image is seriously blurred, seemingly because the rasterization uses the wrong resolution.
The same happens in all browsers, not quite so bad in Chrome but still not perfect.
Do you have plans to fix this bug, or do you have a workaround?

In my experience, print quality settings such as dpi/ppi are hidden in your printer driver settings and not directly available through Firefox's UI. In the print dialog, if you click the Properties button, you hopefully will gain access to this setting. Obviously native web resolution (96ppi) can give disappointing results, so hopefully you can find a place to increase it.

Pick ticket header prints the wrong information on 2nd page of order

I can't make copies on my C6180 printer. It says i have the wrong size paper and I don't

I am trying to make copies on my C6180 all in one printer and it says I have the wrong paper size and then spit the paper out. Paper size is correct. What is wrong.....this just started happening and nothing has changed on our computer.

For further assistance, I will need to know:
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, Ethernet, or USB.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
In the meantime, please see this guide, 'Paper Mismatch,' or 'Paper Size Mismatch' Error Message Displays When Printing.

AirPrint finds any air print enabled printers on your wifi network, and won't find any printers that are not. So if you print from, say, safari, and it finds that printer, then that is your printer. It may have a different name than you were expecting.
Turn the printer off, and see if the print job still sees the printer. That will confirm that the one it sees is yours.
What happens when you send the print job?
If you are sharing a wifi network with others, and one of them has a AirPrint printer on the network, you will see that one. There is not way to have it forget one, so you will need to know your printer from the other printer, and select the right one.

I bought the wrong chip.

This is more of a hypothetical question. I ask because I am curious.
My Mid-2010 Mac Mini worked cheerfully on 2GB of RAM until I got to Yosemite. Since then the computer has been getting slower and slower. When my HP LaserJet P1102w refused to print any more PDFs, I decided to "look under the hood." Activity Monitor reported that I was using 2.94GB of Virtual Memory. No wonder the Mini was slow. I went to the store for more RAM. Somewhere along the way, I got confused about the model year of the Mini. I asked the sales clerk for 8GB for a Mid-2011 Mini. He sold me what I thought was two 4GB modules. When I got back to the Mini, I opened the package and found one 8GB module. Not wanting to spend any more time on the project than I had already, I removed the two original 1GB modules from the Mini and installed the 8GB one. It worked. The Mini did everything I wanted except to print a PDF. Quickly I determined that I had asked for the wrong modules. I went back to the store and exchanged the one wrong 8GB module for two 4GB modules. And the Mini is running again.
The questions I have are:
1) Could I have continued to run the Mini on only one 8GB module?
2) Could I have installed a second 8GB module?
BTW, the HP continues to refuse to print PDFs.

My 4S died and I was given a new one. Now I can't get it to sync with my old info. I think I put the wrong email address for my apple ID, how can I change it?

My 4S died this week and I was told it could not be repaired, so I was issued a new one. During set up I could not remember my password, so set up a new one. I think I used the wrong email address, not sure. At any rate, now my phone and pad don't sync. How can I get this corrected? Thanks!

It looks like your printer isn't on the list of air print enabled printers. It'll still work, you just need to do some tweaking.
You can see if samsung has any apps to enable printing.
or
You can look into a third party app like Print n Share or Print Central.
Then you can print from your iPad.
