Printing-Why is printed pic cropped smaller than actual pic?

Regardless of paper size/print size selected, every pic I select to print seems to zoom in and cut off the edge when printing. Looks like I zoomed in for the print but I did not. Any help on how to get the print to match what I see on the screen? Thanks.

Sorry if I'm not getting this. My pictures are downloaded from the camera into iPhoto. In iPhoto, I see the entire picture, I then select a photo, print to a 4x6 borderless, and the printed picture has now cut off edges compared to how the picture looks in iPhoto.
One More Time
Try selecting the photo and clicking print, select the printer, paper size and print size and click customize and right click on the preview and select fit to frame - now you should see all of the photo in the preview and the print should have everything
Alternatively you can crop the photo to the print size and print
Obviously if the photos and the print size are different something has to give -

hi, all . why the flashback log'size smaller than the archived log ?

Flash logs size depends on parameter DB_FLASHBACK_RETENTION_TARGET , how much you want to keep.
Archive log files is dumped file of Online redo log files, It can be either size of Online redo log file size or less depending on online redo size when switch occurred.
    Some more information:-
Flashback log files can be created only under the Flash Recovery Area (that must be configured before enabling the Flashback Database functionality). RVWR creates flashback log files into a directory named “FLASHBACK” under FRA. The size of every generated flashback log file is again under Oracle’s control. According to current Oracle environment – during normal database activity flashback log files have size of 8200192 bytes. It is very close value to the current redo log buffer size. The size of a generated flashback log file can differs during shutdown and startup database activities. Flashback log file sizes can differ during high intensive write activity as well.

  • Printed type much smaller than screen type

I'm working on a Sawtooth G4 running OS 9.2.2. When I print (SimpleText, Word, Excel) the printed type is much smaller than the designated screen size. For instance, if I print 24-point type, it comes out about 14 or 12. If I print 12, it's about six- or seven-point.
The only application not affected is QuarkXPress 4.0.
    I'm running ATM Deluxe 4.6.1.
    Ideas?

That suggets the wrong driver, or wrong configuration in the right driver.
    What printer is this, please?
Has it ever worked properly and does it have the maker's latest drivers for OS 9?
Does it make ny difference what font is used?
Does the same text still shrink in Word and not in XPress if it's typed in one then pasted into the other?

  • Java Applet  Smaller than actual Size

    Hi:
I have a very strange problem with commercial java applications and IE 6.X Web Browser. I'll appreciate if some one can help me. Following is description of the problem:
    1. If I run a commercial java application, which certainly uses jre and I have no access to the code, some applets are smaller than their actual size and I cannot resize them, 'cause resize is disabled in the code. This causes a problem, 'cause I can't see the full applet.
    2. The pop up IE 6.X browser windows has the same problem.
    3. I noticed this after installing the latest version of jre 1.4.1, and then I uninstalled it, tried another version, but can't solve the problem.
I'll appreciate if some body can help me solve this problem.
    Thanks
    Nadeem Ahmed

    Hi,
some applets are smaller than their actual size and I
cannot resize them, 'cause resize is disabled in the
code.I don't understand : an applet is running in an HTML page and cannot be resized. The size of the applet is specified in the HTML "applet" tag. The only case in which the applet can be resized is if the size of applet is in % of page width (i.e. "width=100%")

  • My officejet 6500 prints photos much smaller than they actually are in photoshop. What is the cause?

Photos are seven by four inches and are either 150 or 300 dpi in photoshop. When I try to print them out they come out of the printer at about one by one and a half inches. Using the latest firmware and software for the e709a for xp on xp professional machine running at about 2 gigahertz with 4 gig of ram. When I try to print the same files from MS Paint it prints various quadrants of the the photo on multiple pages.Similar problem occurs with MS Image Viewer application. Any ideas how to fix this?
I am currently uninstalling and reinstalling all hp software. I will clean out temp files and registry with ccleaner then reboot before reinstalling. Just thought I'd ask to see if anyone has a solution for this problem.

    Hi there david623,
If that did not work for you lets try downloading and running the print and scan doctor located here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03275041&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
It can fix a lot on its own and if not give a better idea of what is going on.
    Best of Luck!

  • Why Are Lightroom File Sizes Smaller Than Elements Equivalents?

I have been struggling to get good quality thumbnail sized images at small enough file sizes for a website. The only problem is that the versions I have done through Lightroom via the Web Module using the Flash template, will only allow a maximum width size of 191 pixels, whereas I'm looking to achieve 250 pixels wide. Doing it through Elements image resize box gets me the size I want, but for a decent quality, the file size is much larger.
Out of curiosity and for comparison, I made the Elements versions the same dimensions as the Lightroom ones. In order for the file sizes of the Elements ones to come even close and yet not as small as the Lightroom versions, I had to reduce the Jpeg quality to zero. This rendered them unusable.
I can't understand why two related applications doing exactly the same thing can differ so wildly. Can someone tell me what is going on?

    Hmmm??
    Not To Sure??
But I will try to find out..
    Keep you posted about that.

  • When I export my Indesign document to an epub why is the first image smaller than the rest?

All of the images are intended to be full page, and appear so in Indesign, however when I export the document to an epub, and view it on the iPad, the first image displays at about half the size of the other images.
When creating the images in photoshop I ensured that they were all the same size and have not had this problem with any of the other epubs that I have made so far. Am I missing something? Any advice would be gratefully received! I work for a very small not-for-profit organisation that publishes books for people with learning disabilities and we are still feeling our way when it comes to producing ebooks!
    Thanks in advance,
    Hannah

    HI Hannah,
May i know what are your cover page settings while exporting...?
Is your document facing or non facing pages.
Hope there are no size related settings done to the first image in Object Export Options under objects sub-menu.
Because these are the prime settings that can affect it somehow.

  • Iphoto exports photos smaller than actual size

this problem just recently started, and i haven't changed anything (settings, os, way i import photos, etc...). basically when i upload photos on line, or open them up in another program by opening them through this process:
file - open - photos - iphoto library - data - *folder name* - *image title*
the photos all come out to be about 3x2 inches or so. most of them should be around 6x4 or so... i would just like to find a way to upload/open a file from iphoto, without having to take the photo out of iphoto, save it at a different file name into a different location, and having to open it up from that location. it adds too much work and uses up too much hard disk space, because i upload a lot of photos online.
    anyone know?

The problem is that you're not exporting at all; you're grabbing the file from the iPhoto library. Since you're going into the Data folder, you're getting the thumbnail that iPhoto creates to make viewing your library efficient.
The correct way to do this is to choose the photos you want from within the iPhoto application (not the library folder in Finder). Select File > Export > File Export, where you can create a folder on your desktop for the exported copies. In the export dialog you will also have the option to rename the copies or resize them for better performance in email or websites. When you have used the exports you can delete them; iPhoto keeps your original files safe inside the library.
Okay, I know you said you want to leave them in the library. But you can save disc space by deleting your exports after you've finished uploading them.
The reason I'm reluctant to tell you how to do it your way is that one of the most common causes of iPhoto damage is when people mess around inside the iPhoto library folder in Finder. Any changes made while you're in there will break the link between your file and the iPhoto database. At worst, you can corrupt your whole database and have to start over with a fresh library.
That being said, you should know that the full-sized photos are contained in either the Originals folder (unedited photos here) or the Modified folder (edited and rotated photos here). The advantage to exporting is that iPhoto knows which one to copy; to find it yourself you have to go looking around a bit.
And, just to be safe, you can use Finder to make a duplicate of the file Library6.iPhoto, located just inside the iPhoto Library folder. (It's a relatively small file.) Keeping a current copy of this file will allow you to easily restore your library in the event of database corruption. I make a new duplicate every time I close iPhoto and keep the 2 most recent copies as back-up.

  • Why is my embedded video smoother than actual Youtube?

Hello, I'm trying to get a movie onto Youtube, but I'm finding that no matter what I do it's still choppy, particularly during camera movement.
Initial footage is from a video game at 120.0 fps.  [Premiere Pro project/sequence settings is 59.94 fps.  I then encode 2 versions of the movie (one at 59.94 fps for file download and another at 29.97 fps for Youtube).  I've tried uploading the 29.97 fps to Youtube, but it's constantly choppy.  The weird thing is that windowed and full screen embedded video is almost smooth, but windowed and full screen on Youtube is choppy.
I've got no clue what is causing this.  It occurs regardless of x264 (through Avisynth and Megui) or WMV encoding formats.  The video looks absolutely smooth before Youtube.

  • Print cropped tighter than preview image. Why?

If I crop a photo in Aperture 3.0.3 as desired (specifying 6x4 constraint) and then preview and print it on 6x4 paper, the print is cropped tighter than either the original photo or the print preview (about 1/4 inch tighter all round. Printer is an Epson R800.
Why is this happening and how can I get the print preview to show the final print crop accurately?

I would imagine you are printing borderless? This is typical because of the border extension that your printer driver does to make sure it is borderless. Aperture used to have a calibration function to deal with this more accurately but that is gone in Ap3, I guess it was too complicated.

  • Printed page smaller than page settings

Hi. Not sure if anyone's got experience with this, but for some reason in Office 2008, Word seems to have reduced the size of the page layout settings by about 30%. In other words, with page layout set to A4 sized paper, the print preview and actual printed page both act as if the print area is smaller than the actual page. The font is reduced, the space between lines, everything. So, although the font is set to 12 point, it comes out much smaller. I've checked page settings on both the printer and Word preferences (both are set to A4), updated the printer driver, and everything else I can think of. When I go back to my previous version of Word, no problem. Can anyone comment? Thanks.

Have you checked the default setup in like TextEdit under Page Setup, or made a new Default Page Size?

  • Is the website always smaller than the screen?

New to Mac...very frustrating to learn about it without help. Lots of things bug me...first being...why are the websites (window) smaller than the whole screen? Can this be changed?

The green button in the "traffic lights" (top left corner of window) will toggle between max size and whatever size you have set it to by dragging the bottom right corner.
Mac 101 is a good place for a beginner - and of course you will get great support in these forums.

  • When I try to print a photo downloaded from Facebook in iPhoto, I can't get the size I specify to print correctly. Example: 5x7 prints smaller than 5x7. What do I do to solve this problem?

When I try to print a photo downloaded from Facebook in iPhoto, I can't get the size I specify to print correctly. Example: 5x7 prints smaller than 5x7. What do I do to solve this problem?

Those pixel dimemsions have aspect ratios that are not the same as a 5 x7 print:
    1360 x 1360 = 1.0
    790 x 640 = 1.23
    2048 x 1366 = 1.5
    An 7 x 5 image = 1.4.
So you'll need to crop the images to 5 x 7 before printing.  The first two images are a little light in the pixels to produce a high resolution 5 x 7 print.

  • For some reason all of my forwards, and my printing come out significantly smaller than the original. Any idea how to get this back to printing the size of my screen and forwarding the size of the original mail I've received? Thanks.

Hi. I am not technically proficient. I have somehow hit something that is making my email forwards and text to the printer way smaller than what is appearing on my screen. I have looked into everything I can think of in settings and outlook express. If you have any ideas, I would greatly appreciate them. I assume that one click and I'll be back to "normal", but can't figure out which darned click that would be.  Thanks.

Have you checked Outlook's font preferences?  You can change to size under General Preferences>Fonts.  You can also change font sizes by using ⌘shift+
