Printing : with layout in notepad??

hi all,
is it possible to create a layout in notepad to print a document.??if yes how??
i have to create a program for a bill. But it has atleast 100 fields and is top be run daily, by different users simultaneously.. So can using smartfroms or SAP Scripts ctreate any problemz ( the printer settings might be different for differnet users) ? Regarding this issue, i heard we can create a layout in notepad for this bill which will not create any issues with any different printer settings or with simultaneous usage.. is this true??

  • How do I get the layout guides (A,B,C column headers and 1,2,3 Row Headers) to print with my spreadsheet?

How do I get the Layout Guides (A,B,C column headers and 1,2,3 Row Headers) to print on my spreadsheet? They are invaluable for discussing the data with my clients over the phone.
They appear while I am editing, but don't print with the spreadsheet. I know how to do it in Excel, but I am transitioning to Numbers. I can't imagine I have to type them into their own columns and rows. It must be a difference in vernacular that I can't find the solution in the User Guide. Can anyone help?

    Hi ktjobauer,
Numbers is not Excel and Excel is not Numbers. Numbers is WYSIWYG (at least in File > Print and the actual printout).
I can't imagine I have to type them into their own columns and rows.
No, you don't. You can use the charm of Numbers to create cell references for your Excel clients.
In this Numbers Table, I have added some extra Columns that you can hide later.
    Column B =COLUMN(A2)
    Column C =HLOOKUP(B2,'Table 1-1' :: $1:$2,2,FALSE)      [explanation later]
    Column D =ROW(B2)
    Column E =C2&D2
Add those formulas to the first Body Row (below the Header Row) and Fill Down.
Column C refers to another Table which you need only create once, to convert a Column number to a letter:
and so on from 1-26, A-Z.
You can move the second Table to another Sheet to hide it. Formulas will automatically adjust to keep the links between Sheets.
Now in the first Table, select and Hide Columns B,C,D. Formulas will continue to work with hidden cells:

  • Duplex printing with officejet pro 8000

I am using this officejet pro 8000 to print up some newsletters.  When printing a two sided copy (duplex printing) something happens which changes my border setting.  Printing the exact same document, but electing one-sided copy renders a perfect border.  I would not have a problem copying just one side, then re-loading those in order to make two-sided copies, but the friction caused by the ink on the pages causes mulitple sheets to feed at the same time, jamming the printer.  Has HP ever come up with a fix for this?  I have seen this problem on the net, but the best folks have done (that I have seen) is to upload drivers for older machines.  This has rendered good borders on duplex prints, but diminishes the quality of the print copy.  Whatcha think?

Mac Help senior customized my settings by adding "duplex printing" to the "Presets" list.
Are you using the latest drivers from HP? If I set up a printer with the HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809 Series PPD, I can see Two-Sided to the right of Collated if the HP Two-sided Printing Accessory (Duplexer) is checked in the Print & Fax -> Options & Supplies -> Driver tab. If this is not checked, Two-Sided won't appear.
MAC HAS TO CREATE A PATCH TO SIMPLIFY THIS SNOW LEOPARD ERROR!
Apple doesn't write the HP software.

  • Two sided printing with wordperfect HP Photosmart 6515

Any ideas how to set up two sided printing with wordperfect documents using  HP Photosmart 6515

    Hello,
You should be able to print on two sides using this method for your product:
NOTE:You can print your document on both sides of the paper, instead of just one side. Click on the Advanced button on the Paper/Quality or Layout tab. From the Pages to Print drop-down menu select Print Odd Pages Only . Click OK to print. After the odd numbered pages of the document have been printed, remove the document from the output tray. Reload the paper in the input tray with the blank side facing up. Return to the Pages to Print drop-down menu and then select Print Even Pages Only . Click OK to print.

how do I set up a booklet to print with my Konica Minolta?

Is it a BizHub? If so, use the booklet printing from the Koncia driver.
If it's like the one I have, click the Printer button at the bottom of InDesign's print dialog, then choose Layout/Finish from the drop down menu, and booklet from there.
One thing to note: with this method, leave your paper size the same as one page of your document.

  • Apex 4.2.2 PDF Printing with Apex 2.0 Listener

We recently installed Apex 4.2 with the Apex 2.0 Listener and can successfully print interactive reports and classic reports to PDF.  I viewed Mark Sewtz PDF Printing with Apex 4.2.2 and saw how he is using third party tools to format reports.  We have also looked into the Jasper Report Integration Toolkit, but have only got it working on the Tomcat environment, not WebLogic.
I'm trying to download a classic report in PDF format with our logo displayed at the header.  In the print attributes section, there is a section for header.  I've tried adding the following in the header section:
    <img src = "http://hr.unm.edu/common/images/unm_dept_logo.gif">
    No Logo Prints
    #APP_IMAGES#unm_dept_logo.gif
    Prints in header:
    wwv_flow_file_mgr.get_file?
    p_security_group_id=3930016164431413%26p_flow_id=106%26p_fname=unm_dept_logo.gif
    #WORKSPACE_IMAGES#unm_dept_logo.gif
    Prints in header: /i/unm_dept_logo.gif
I've also added the logo in the report region, prior to the columns printing, but no logo downloads to PDF.
Does the Apex Listener only render text?  Is there any way to get the logo to print in the header without using a third party tool?  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

    Hi,
There are different options to include images in your PDF exports. What's important to understand though is that with the PDF export functionality we separate the formatting from the actual data. So the formatting is defined in your RTF or XSL-FO templates and the data is stored in the XML that APEX generates based on your report data. We have several formatting options exposed on the print attributes pages, i.e. you can define page formatting, dimensions, fonts, colors, etc - all of these are applied to what we call generic XSL-FO templates. Those templates are generic in that they can be used with different reports, having variable numbers of columns and variable column names. Those formatting attributes can not be used however with named column templates, such as those that you generate with BI Publisher or those third-party tools I talked about in my Blog.
So if you want to use these formatting options, you need a generic report layout - which you get out of the box using the built-in layout. But you also have the option to create your own generic report layout (see Shared Components -> Report Layouts). When creating a custom generic report layout, you'll get a copy of the built-in layout as a starting point. Once created, you can manually modify this layout to meet your needs. As you edit this template, you'll find a number of #....# substitution strings. This is what APEX uses at runtime to fill in your formatting values as well as to assemble your generic layout based on your result set.
Now one way to include your own image would be to add an image reference to this generic report layout. You can't use the page header or footer attributes on the print attributes page for that because the FOP rendering engine does not understand or translate HTML. It renders XSL-FO. So to add your own image reference, you need to use XSL-FO mark-up. If you want to add an image to your page header, look for the #PAGE_HEADER# substitution string in the "Page Template" attribute of your generic report layout. You should be able to find the following:
    <fo:inline xsl:use-attribute-sets="page-header">
        #PAGE_HEADER#
    </fo:inline>
Now assuming you have a file stored in your local images directory on localhost, you could add the following external graphic reference:
    <fo:inline xsl:use-attribute-sets="page-header">
        <fo:external-graphic src="http://localhost:8080/i/cloud.gif" content-height="scale-to-fit" height="30px"  content-width="150px" scaling="non-uniform"/>
        #PAGE_HEADER#
    </fo:inline>
Once you're done with your chanages, save the report layout and edit your report. Go to the print attributes and select your generic report layout and then run your report page and export the PDF. Provided the APEX Listener is able to find this external image reference, it will now be included above your report in your PDF document.

    Marc

  • Colours in 'Print with Preview' window are wrong

I am using Photoshop CS on a Mac G4 (PPC) with OS X 10.4.11.
I usually use 'Print with Preview' to print photographs. I used to get good results, but something seems to have changed (or I have accidentally changed a setting somewhere). When I open an image in Photoshop, the colours on my monitor (which I regularly calibrate) look right. But when I go to 'Print with Preview', the image shown in the small layout window is now much darker, reds are more brown and in general the colours look quite wrong. And what is even worse is that when I print, the results match the wrong colours in the Preview window and not the correct colors that I see when I look at the image directly in Photoshop.
I attach a screenshot, showing (on the left) a colour test image opened directly in Photoshop CS and (on the right) how it looks in the Preview window.
Can anyone suggest what may have gone wrong? I should be very grateful for suggestions.

The words that helped [me] the most to understand Photoshop color management theory are:
Color Management starts with a good monitor profile (to PROOF the color accurately on the monitor), and Color Management ends with a good target profile to PROOF the color accurately on the print.
The file (the document's Source Color Space) is independent of Photoshop:
The Color Management System CMS, Photoshop, ONLY uses the monitor profile for one thing: To PROOF source file on the monitor (the monitor profile has zero to do with how the file prints).
The Color Management System CMS, Photoshop, ONLY uses the printer (target) profile Print Space for one thing: To PROOF source file on the paper (the printer profile Print Space has zero to do with how the file looks on the monitor).
    +++++
While this simple PROOFING ANALOGY doesn't address the pitfalls of relying on a bad monitor to evaluate and adjust digital color, it does make two important facts about Photoshop and professional color-managed printing workflows:
    1) The printer can PROOF (print) the source file faithfully regardless of how right or wrong the monitor is set up, and
    2) The monitor can PROOF (display) the source file faithfully regardless of how right or wrong the printer is set up.
Getting a known good file (like the Adobe RGB—or better yet the ProPhoto RGB—PDI Photodisc-GettyImages RGB reference image) into Photoshop allows me to evaluate the monitor alongside the print to help me identify where the problem is occurring.
    +++++
BTW, thank you for the helpful and solved hits.

  • How can I add header on printing with Numbers

How can I add header on printing with Numbers? The previous version use to have it and I cannot find it in the new one ...

    Hi Tanya,
Glad to hear that you found how to edit page headers and footers in Numbers 3.2. I agree that Help in Numbers 3 is woeful. No searchable PDF to download and use offline. All is online (one page at a time) and we need to know the terms we are looking for before we look.
    The first HelpDesk:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQHX-SjgQvQ
For printing to paper where layout is important, I use Numbers '09 (Numbers 2.3) with its Print View. But it is orphanware. As the name suggests, there has not been a major overhaul since 2009. With that in mind, it is a useful version to hang onto while we hope and wait (and provide feedback to Apple) for something in future versions of Numbers 3.x to provide better layout capability.
Indeed, each new update of Numbers 3.x has restored more of the old features while adding new features that are enhancements over Numbers '09. Many of the Numbers 3 enhancements reflect long-awaited wishes through this forum, and were passed on by Numbers Feedback to Apple. So it seems that Apple does take heed of feedback.
In the meantime, I enjoy the charm of Numbers '09 whilst exploring the new features of Numbers 3.
What has been GAINED in Numbers 3 is here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5473882?start=75&tstart=0
(Very long thread because it started with Numbers 3.0, and enhancements have continued through Numbers 3.2).
Hints on workarounds in Numbers 3 is here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/23622372#23622372
Some workarounds are no longer needed, but what amazes me is how many Numbers '09 features (the so-called "lost" features) were not lost; the settings have simply been moved. Moreover, many features such as margin settings carry over with a Numbers '09 document or template into Numbers 3.

  • PO printing with SMARTFORM

    Hi,
PO printing is done with Standard Tcode at present.
Pls forward me Z_smartforms  for PO printing with future modifications or additions to that Zform available.
I would like to print Many PO at one time

    Create Purchase Order Smartform
Create a Smartform, copy the existing SAP provided purchase order Smartform to ZSFM_PURCHASEORDER for
    customizing as per business requirement.
    1. Form Settings under Global Settings node, set the parameters in Output Option:
    Page Format: Letter
    Character per Inch: 20
    Line per Inch: 6
    Style: ZSTM_SMB40_SF
    Output Format: Standard Output
    2.        Form Interface
We can add parameters in the Import Parameters and tables in Tables tab of the form interface for the application
data to be available for the Smartform to print.
    3. In Global definition we can define the all the global variables which can be used in Smartforms. Initialization
can be used for initializing the variables and even for retrieving the data.
    Creating pages:
Each form consists of one or more pages. The first page in the tree structure is the start page and the
processing of the form starts with this page itself.
    1.        Open the context menu for existing page node and choose create page
    2.        Enter a unique name (FIRST) for the node and a description (Page)
    3.        Determine the format (1, 2, 3...)and the mode of the page counter (Increase counter) on the general
    attributes tab
    4.        Determine the print attributes (Portrait Format) of the page on the output options
    5.        Determine a background graphic for the entire page on the background tab (Not used in PO).
    Creating windows:
The size and position of the window can be graphically set in the form painter. There are main windows and
secondary windows. The difference between these two is that the output in a main window can cover several
    pages.
    1.        Open the context menu for an existing page node and choose window
    2.        Enter a name for the node (NAMEFORM) and a description (Title Window).
    3.        On the general attributes indicate type of window. NAMEFORM is secondary window.
In similar fashion all the other windows are created and positioned as per the form design. Only one MAIN
window is created, it is used for line items which can cover several pages.
    Positioning texts on the form
The texts are displayed in the form using text nodes. The only exceptions are addresses.
The predecessor node of the text node determines its use:
    Predecessor node        Used to
Secondary window        Position text on one or more pages
Main window        Display text in relation to other nodes in the main window, it may cover several pages
Template         Displays texts for table cells of a static table
    Table        Display table contents
    There are three text types:
    1.        Text element : to enter new text in the PC editor
    2.        Text module : to include a text module
    3.        Include text : to include an existing SAPscript text
Entering texts in PC editor: (TITLE)·
To create a text node call the context menu for that node in the tree structure that should receive the
    text, then choose->text
    ·        Enter a unique name (TITLE) for the node and the node description (TITLE)
    ·        On the general attributes tab choose text element as text type
    ·        In the text node box choose whether the text should be started with a new paragraph or only in a new
    line
    ·        Enter the text in the PC editor. Text could be a program element like &Title& or u2018Purchase Orderu2019. &Title&
is a variable for which the value is assigned in Program line before the text.
    Including text modules: (TERMSCONDITION)
Text module of the text node is used to refer to an existing text module in the system. The text modules can be
    used in two ways:
    ·        To create a text node, call the context menu for that node in the tree structure that shall contain the text
and choose create->text under the window TERMSCONDITION.
    ·        Enter a unique name for the node (TERMSCONDITION) and a description (Terms and Condition)
    ·        On the general attributes tab select the text type text module
    ·        Enter the name of the text module in the text name field (&G_TERMS_TEXT&). &G_TERMS_TEXT& is
used to determine the Text name dynamically in the program lines preceding the text module node.
    ·        Program Lines: GETTERMSCONDITION
    Concatenate 'ZTMM_PO_TERMS_' ZXEKKO-BUKRS
                                    INTO G_TERMS_TEXT.
    Including SAPscript texts:
    (HD_TXT_F01 u2013 Order Header Text)
The text type include text node to refer to a SAPscript text, which already exists in the system. To identify the
text the text name, object, id and the language is needed.
    ·        To create the text node, call the context menu for that node in the tree structure that shall receive the
text and choose create -> text under the main window.
    ·        Enter a unique name (HD_TXT_F01) for the node and the node description (Order Header Text).
    ·        On the general attributes tab choose include text as text type
    ·        Text Name - &ZEKKO-EBELN&, Text Object u2013 EKKO, Text ID u2013 F01, Language - &SY-LANGU&. Also check
mark u2013 No error if no text exists.
Tip: Since the size of text is not known, its better to have the text in MAIN window, so that it can run to more
    than one page if required.
    Inserting addresses: (SENDER):
Address node is used to insert an address into the form. This guarantees that the address is formatted
according to the postal rules of the sender country.
    ·        To create an address node , call the context menu for that node in the tree structure that one wants to
contain the text and choose create->Address
    ·        Enter a name for the node (COMPANY_CODE_ADDRESS)  and a description (Company Code Address)
    ·        Determine the address type (Organization Address) on the general attributes tab
    ·        For organizational addresses - specify the address number, for any other - specify the person number
and the address number. In this case we get the company code address into variable &ADDNR&, so we need
program lines (SENDER) preceding the address text.
    ·        In the box additional addresses, attributes to specify how to display the address are maintained.
    Printing graphics: (LOGO):
Tcode SE78 is used to import graphics into the SAP system. The transaction imports the graphics and stores it
in the BDS (business transaction server) and then it can be displayed in the form.
    ·        To create the graphic node , call the context menu for that node in the tree structure and choose create-
    >graphic
    ·        Enter a name (LOGO) for the node and the description (Logo Graphic)
    ·        On the general attributes determine whether a colored or a black and white
    ·        On General Attributes use the fields object - GRPAHIC, id u2013 BMAP and name - &G_LOGO& to identify the
graphic. &G_LOGO& is variable and therefore we can print company code specific logo. Program line preceding
    the graphic is required.
    ·        Program line COMP_LOGO is used to assign the value to G_LOGO. Concatenate 'ZCOMPANY_LOGO_'
ZXEKKO-BUKRS INTO G_LOGO. So, the name of graphic for example will be ZCOMPANY_LOGO_0202 for
    company code 0202.
Displaying a static table (Window u2013 INFO, Template - TEM_INFO)
Use node type template to display a table whose layout and size is determined before the runtime of the print
    program.
To create a template, define a table layout to determine the cell structure for each line. The cells are used to
display the cell structure for each line. The cells are used to display the contents of the successor nodes of the
    template node.
    ·        Create Template under the INFO window node. Create > Template.
The template layout is used to determine the following,
    1.        The number of lines and cells
    2.        The height of each cell
    3.        The width of each cell
    4.        The alignment of the table in the window
    5.        Whether and where to display separator lines or frames
Use the table control on the template tab to define the layout of the lines. Each line of the template must have
    a definition.
Use the pattern box to select the desired table pattern.
    Displaying contents in cells: (TLE_CONTACT)
The template node defines the table layout. The successor nodes of the template         determine the data to be
    displayed in the table cells.
In General Attributes choose Text type u2013 Text Element. In editor, type u2018DTE         Contactu2019.
In Output Options, define the output structure LINE u2013 5 and Column u2013 1.
Similarly all other information for each cell can be filed using the text module and         address module.
    Displaying Dynamic Table (ITEM_TABLE)
    ·        Create TABLE under the MAIN window node. In DATA Tab, loop through the data internal table.
L_XEKPO is the item table which has all the line item details.
Define the line types based on the positioning of the text in main window. For         example: TABLE_HEADER1
is used for positioning Header texts in the table.
    ·        Table is divided into three parts: Header, Main Area and Footer.
    ·        Header is used for printing the Header Title of the table and it at the start of the table on every page.
    ·         Main Area is used to print the line item details of the PO. Create a line (ITEM_DETAIL) of the line type
TABLE_HEADER1. It will dynamically generate number cells based on the line type defined in the table layout.
Name all the cells as per the usage. For each cell create the text node to display the information. For example:
Cell VAL_MATERIAL, Text node MATNR is created which has text element - -matnr.
    ·        Footer is used for printing the information after Main Area data is printed. This can be used for Total
printing or any other information which needs to be printed after all line items are printed. Create line
TLE_CONTR_STP for Contractual Stipulation of the line type u2013 LINE which has only one column. Create the
text element to print the information.
Special Requirement: Printing the Acknowledgement text if the order value is greater then USD 50,000.00 on
    the second copy only.
    ·        This requirement needs the modification in the print program and the Smartform.
    ·        Modification in Print Program to trigger the second copy if the order value is greater then 50K. Its
advisable to copy the standard print program to custom Z program (Z_SMB40_FM06P), and changes should
be made to Z program. Number of copies is passed from NAST to ls_composer_param-tdcopies in Smartforms.
The value ls_composer_param-tdcopies is modified in the print program to 2 if the order value is greater then
    50K.
    ·        The printing of Acknowledgement Text only on second copy is achieved using the COPIES WINDOW in
Smartforms. Define Window ACKN_COPY of the type COPIES WINDOW and Output to u2013 Only Copies u2013 Copies
Differ. Also set the condition in the Condition Tab of the window u2013 SFSY-JOBPAGES = 1, so that it only print
on the first page of the copy.
    ·        If user selects to print 2 copies and the order value is more then 50k, program needs to print 2 sets
meaning 4 copies. So number of copies is taken care of in Print program but again the printing of
Acknowledgement Text should be only the Even number copy meaning Copy# 2 and 4. This achieved by using
the program lines to determine the even copy.  SFSY-COPYCOUNT will tell us the current copy number being
    printed.

to select a color for the border. is this a difficult feature to add? not sure why it wouldnt be there. apple seems to appreciate using a black background for web pages...why not for printing?

Try using the book tool - simply lay out a 'template' book with pages the size of your paper, and drag images into it when you want to print.
Unfortunately you don't get the print-specific sharpening, but the layout controls are pretty good.

  • Defaults for 'Print with comments summary'

    Hi,
I'm working in Acrobat Pro 7, and often need to use "Print with comments summary". This always launches with paper size set to "letter" and layout set to "Document and comments with sequence numbers on separate pages". But I always want "A4" and "Document and comments with connector lines on single pages". Is there any way I can make this the default?

    Anybody?

  • Printer printing with truncating characters on both sides using Style PDF

    Hi,
    DB:11.1.0.7.0
    Oracle Apps: 12.1.1
    OS:Linux Red Hat 86x64
We are using Printer name XYZ with Printer Type: HPLJ4SI
    Style: PDF Publisher
    Driver:PASTA_PDF
Issue: The same printer works fine in DEV env but not in INT env.
What could be the issues here and where could be the fix?
Could anyone please share such an issues faced before?
    Thanks for your time!
    Regards,

    Hi,
    Yes.Verified.
    Printer style: PDF Publisher :
    User style: PDF Publisher
    Layout: Columns: 132 Rows :55
    Report Definition:
    Output Format: XML
    Columns: 132
    Rows: 45
    Style: PDF Publisher
Exactly the same setups are there in both the environments but still it's printing with truncated characters at both left and right margins of the page in INT only.
    In DEV it's printing fine.
So, now where else could we be looking for the fix.
    Thanks,

  • Printing a Layout

    Hello Experts,
I have a problem in printing a layout.
When I give the printer option as 'LOCL' it works fine but when I change the name of the printer the output gets changed. It has to give the correct output irrespective of the printer. Let me know how to handle this scenario.
    Regards,
    Siva.

    Hello Siva,
Check the printer Configuration with ur BASIS Peoples.
SAP don't have any interface with the Printers.
If u r using the the PAGE FORMAT As DINA4 Then It should print properly to all printers.
    If useful reward points.
