Answer to my problem is in this forum, but it only answers my question when I am in windows...what has to be done to fix this in Redhat?
http://forums.2cpu.com/showindex.php?s=&threadid=36598
Answer:
It incorporates Layer 3 switching which is different than NETGEAR switches which incorporate Layer 2. Switches that use routing technologies are known as Layer 3 switches, referring to Layer 3-the Network Layer-of the OSI Model. These switches, like routers, represent the next higher level of intelligence in the hardware hierarchy. Rather than passing packets based on MAC addresses (Layer 2), these switches look into the data structure and route it based on the network addresses found in Layer 3. They are also dependent on the network protocol. Layer 2 switches connect different parts of the same network as determined by the network number contained with the data packet. Layer 3 switches connect LANs or LAN
That maybe the reason, because the msi9105 board uses Intel onboard LAN.
However this can be solved very easily if you enable 100mbps full duplex on the card properties and the card works excellent.
CAN ANYONE ANSWER THIS IN REDHAT 9.0 running GNOME

You say "no sounds come from the keyboard", but there isn't supposed to come sound from that keyboard, it's a MIDI only thing.
So, if you open Logic, start a new project with one Software instrument, does it work? Does the MIDI monitor in the Control Bar ("No In, No Out") show MIDI activity when you play keys or move the modwheel?

  • My Samsung Network Extender worked for years, but no longer works.  How do I fix it?!

My Samsung Network Extender worked for years.  I switched away from Verizon only to find out it won't work when my phone is on another network.  I have since switched back to Verizon and now my Network Extender does not work AT ALL.  I will switch away again if this problem is not resolved.

We would be delighted to assist elsdpe! Have you contacted us to readd the Network Extender to your account? If not please contact us directly at 800-922-0204. We look forward to hearing from you soon, thanks!

  • I have a WRT610n and the 2.4 GHz just stopped working (5 GHz network is working fine)

Almost with the coming of the new year, the 2.4 GHZ net slowed down to nearly nothing.
That is to say that it works only very slightly, and is usually not even visible as an option to select.
But the 5 GHz network is available and works fine.
    Here is my setup:
Speed touch modem supplied by Telus
Linksys router WRT610n ( i think version 1, because there is nothing written to tell me otherwise - there is no ver 2 next to the model number)
    Macbook Pro laptop (new)
    dell windows laptop (old)
two pc desktop machines (one running 2.4 GHz wireless net adapter, the other running a 5GHz net adaptor)
an iPhone (new) --> only works at 2.4 GHz (i checked)
the wireless networks are named as follows:
"SHONESY 5 GHZ" for the 5 GHz signal
"SHONESY 2.4 GHz" for the 2.4 GHz signal
for months, everything worked fine. the macbook communicated on the 5 Ghz net along with one pc downstairs (wirelessly).,
my iPhone communicated nicely with a full strength signal and good speed.
then, something changed and the 2.4 GHz net all but failed.
when the dell is plugged in via a hard line ethernet cable to the router, no problems - i get 1.3 MBPS on the speed test
the macbook can only see the 5 GHz network, but works fine.
same for the pc downstairs that runs on a 5GHz wireless network USB adapter
the iPhone now only gets one bar (if anything at all), and usually cannot connect (but can usually see the SHONESY 2.4GHz network in the utilities/wifi setup area)
    i am really stumped.
could the router have failed? how can i check it?
what could explain what I am seeing.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
    colin

Try resetting the device by holding down the reset button on the rear of the device for 30 seconds. If this does not resolve your issue, then it may be a hardware malfuntion. I have noticed that my 610n was running very hot and it was a common problem so I put a laptop cooler under it and its been keeping it nice and cool. May have just burned out. I hope you get it working.

  • After updating my iPhone 5 to iOS 8.1 it will not connect to the wifi network at work even though it recognizes it. It however still automatically connects to the network at home. I have restared the phone and toggled the router, still no connection

After updating my iPhone 5 to iOS 8.1 it will not connect to the wifi network at work even though it recognizes it. It however still automatically connects to the network at home (this is the network I used to update the phone). My iPad however does not seem to have any problem connecting. I have restared the phone, toggled the router, re-entered the network password but there's still no connection.

When your device is trying to connect to the work Wi-Fi network, go to Settings > Wi-Fi > then tap on the name of the Netowrk that she is having trouble with. Then tap on forget this network. Let the device attempt to connect again and make absolutely sure she is trying to connect to the work network and not a nearby network, then make absolutely sure the password is entered correctly.

  • Here are scripts for getting OAS302 working on RedHat 6.0

People have said this doesn't work. It works. It's just the
owsctl that doesn't work. I'm not saying that oas302 on RedHat 6
is the best solution anyone could come up with, but it does work,
and if you want to do it, here are some scripts that you can feel
free to modify and use as you wish. Various variables should be
updated with however you system is configured. Remember to start
the wrb (i.e. the second script) before you start any listeners.
Linux has a tendency to crash if you don't kill -KILL all the wrb
processes at the same time (i.e. the kernel gets an uncaught
    exception and dies).

    Hi Erick,
Your scripts for running the OAS302 on 6.0 linux had been very
    helpful.
In fact, I dont know what would I have done without them.
Now I am able to run the listeners and even able to create the
packages and users in the database via the OAS 3.0.2 but the
problem starts when accessing a procedure in the database using
the pl/sql agent. By the way i am using Oracle 8.0.5.1 RDBMS and
its home is different than the webserver home.
The browser just does nothing and even does not log any error
message ,I have to stop it after a while but all my other
    catridges are working.
    any insight will be appreciated.
    thanks,
Vikram ( Ironically enough I work for Oracle).

I keep getting a Networking Error: when i run Software update. i have 10.5.8 and want to upgrade to at least 10.6 or later. i know the network is working perfectly.

Snow Leopard OS 10.6 is not available via Software Update, it is paid upgrade.
Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
OS 10.6 Snow Leopard is available for $19.99 from the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    and in the UK:
    http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
but nobody knows for how long it will be available.
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard.
To use iCloud you have to upgrade at least to Lion, but some functions are only available in Mountain Lion:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4759
You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), or you can purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store - if you can run that:

  • In general settings the Wi-Fi icon is not illuminated and to the right of the icon it says,"No Wi-Fi". I've updated the most recent software and my Wi-Fi network is working fine.  Help!

Wi-Fi icon in general settings is not illuminated and to the right of the icon it says "No Wi-Fi".  All other icons in "General Settings" are illuminated and accessible.  My Wi-Fi network is working, as evidenced by the fact I'm able to do this.  A week ago the Wi-Fi setting was working fine and now nothing.  I have completely updated the software.
    Help appreciated.

What you see means that the Broadcom WiFi/Bluetooth chip is not being recognized by iOS.
There are some steps recommended by Apple to solve this but you may have a hardware problem.

  • Does the network extender work in "extended coverage" areas?

We are going to be at a cabin in a rural area that is in "extended 3G" / "extended digital coverage" according to the verizon coverage map (a few miles east of Arnold, CA).
As the cabin has internet (we go there every summer), will the network extender work given that it's in an extended coverage area? I usually get 0 bars when I am at the cabin and it would be nice to be able to make/receive calls on the cell phone without having to drive into town several miles away.

        Hello norm_!
I'd be happy to clarify the Network Extender functionality. I looked up your Arnold, CA location, and unfortunately, the network extender will not work in this area. I apologize for the inconvenence, and I do hope you have a wonderful trip!

  • [SOLVED] Can't get network to work (realtek NIC)

    Hi there!
I found Arch a couple of weeks ago and I got pretty excited with the possibility of taking my old Athlon 750MHz out of inactivity.
Unfortunately, I can't seem to get the network to work.
    * I installed the system using Archlinux-i686-2007.08-2.core.iso
    * I have a little router and the machine has static IP
    lspci:
00:0a.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ (rev 10)

    gateway="default gw 192.168.2.61"
    ROUTES=(gateway)

I think I got the configuration right, however, I have no eth0 (i.e., ifconfig -a only gives 'lo')
Not sure if it's relevant, but here's something I found interesting in dmesg:

    The kernel module for
    Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+
    is 8139too I think
So /etc/rc.conf should be like this
    # HARDWARE
    # Scan hardware and load required modules at bootup
    MOD_AUTOLOAD="yes"
    # Module Blacklist - modules in this list will never be loaded by udev
    MOD_BLACKLIST=()
    # Modules to load at boot-up (in this order)
    # - prefix a module with a ! to blacklist it
    MODULES=( 8139too forcedeth sk98lin slhc ac97_bus snd-mixer-oss snd-pcm-oss snd-seq-oss snd-seq-device snd-seq-midi-event snd-seq snd-hwdep snd-$
    # Scan for LVM volume groups at startup, required if you use LVM
    USELVM="no"
The first one is 8139too, so it will be eth0
In my example the second one is forcedeth for nvidia ethernet controler, so its going to be eth1
    Don't forget to edit /etc/resolv.conf

  • Getting Apple's "Midi Network" to work

I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro computer to work as a wonderful "slave computer". Basically, because I extensively use the "CPU & Memory hog" Kontakt/Kontakt Player programs, I purchased the new MacBook Pro to divide the work load. So far, it's proven to do this nicely! The MacBook Pro is a 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB's of SDRAM running on Leopard 10.5.4. I have an external hard disk drive which houses all of the instrumental sound libraries. The external hard disk drive is connected to the MacBook Pro using an eSATA connector. The audio device used is a new MOTU 828 MK3.
My older Mac Pro workstation is noted below. Please note that I have not upgraded the older Mac Pro workstation to Leopard YET. Although I do plan on upgrading the operating system, things are working quite fine using 10.4.11. I use M-Audio's Keystation Pro 88, connected to the older Mac Pro workstation, as the midi controller.
    The issue. . .
I can't get the Apple Midi Network to work between the two Apple computers. They both seem to see each other, but midi information does not seem to be transferred between the two computers.
At present, I have both networked via a NETGEAR 8 Port 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Switch. This is so that I can have access to the Internet. Now, I am able to transfer files between the two computers. Both computers seem to "see" each other using this network method.
For the MacBook Pro, I am using a CAT6 ethernet cable. I think that this is also true for the older Mac Pro workstation.
I believe that I am configuring the "Midi Network" function correctly. I can see it via the Logic Pro 8.02 program (in the Environment).
Finally. . . I am able to use Music Lab's MidiOverLan CP3 between the two Apple computers!! This is solid! Why, though, am I NOT able to get Apple's "Midi Network" to work?? Am I misunderstanding its function?? Does it not work when one computer is operating under Leopard and the other (older) computer is using the older version?? Could it be the CAT 6 cables?? The NETGEAR switch??
At present, I am happy using the MidiOverLan CP3 program to communicate midi information between the two computers. It would be nice to be able to correctly use Apple's own software, though. (Maybe it's user error??)
    Thank you in advance.
    Ted

Several months ago, I DID get this feature to work...And I'm sorry, I don't remember exactly what I did. It took several attempts. I linked my intel and PPC mactogether.
The problem was, there was too much of delay to make this a useful feature for realtime recording. I was trying to play a virtual instrument, that was a PPC plug-in while recording on a newer macpro..
If you were willing to create 'scratch' tracks one computer, using native Logic plugins, until you had all the midi data right. and then wanted to port midi over to the 2nd computer, and create a more detailed sound to port back into your 2nd computer, it CAN be done. but like I said the delay was too much..(I couldn't get it to be a realtime feature)
There was a 'delay adjustment' feature, in the midi, but I couldn't get that to be useful. If you have plug-ins that you absolutely can't live without, you can try this, but I found it to be too much trouble, and there were some computer lockups involved.

  • Tried both ways in the Wiki, still can't get network printing work

    Hi,
I have tried both the client and server ways following the Wiki, still could not get network printing work.
For the first way, I tried to put either the host name or the ip address (starting with 192) of the remote printer into /etc/cups/client.conf. But both Okular and Evince failed to see the printer in the dialog.
For the second way, with cups-browsed running, it only managed to discover printers in my local network (ip starting with 137) which I have no access. I tried to manually add the printer using its ip, but it still did not work.
What can I do? I have spent hours trying to work it out but failed. I would appreciate a lot your help. Thanks.

  • Extending wireless network, not working?

ive been trying to set up a new wireless network for a few days now and while i got this network up and running i still doubt if its exactly what i want.
i have extreme(n), time capsule(n) and an express(n). im using the extreme as my "base" which is connected to the internet and both the capsule and express are connected by wires. but whenever i use the setting "extend a wireless network", the stations will just become undetectable and not working at all. so to get my network to work i configured them all with "create a wireless network" giving them all the same network name which is working fine. but is this even roaming?

    Welcome to the discussions!
When you are having extending difficulties, it's often helpful to temporarily locate the Express near your main router...across the room or in an adjacent room and test to see if that works.
If things worked fine for 6 months and suddenly you have problems, that may indicate that a new wireless network near you has been added at one of your neighbors, which is causing interference on your network.
Cordless phones are a real problem as well. My neighbor...across the street....can literally knock me off my network if he is in his front hard talking on his cordless phone. I found this out simply by accident, otherwise I would still be blaming Apple for stuff that worked fine for months and then suddenly did not work.
If the Express works close to the main router, then move the Express further away and test again. Most users locate the Express too far away from the main router when they try to extend a wireless network. A good starting location is a point that is about 1/2 to 2/3 of the distance between the main router and the area that needs more coverage.
Open AirPort Utility and click on your AirPort Express on the left and look for its AirPort ID on the right. Jot that down.
When you are testing the extension of the Express, move your laptop close the Express, and hold down the option key on your Mac while you click on the fan shaped AirPort icon at the top of the screen. Look for the BSSID. This should match the AirPort ID of the Express, indicating that your computer is connecting to the AirPort Express.

  • How does Distribution/collection from a network folder work?

I sorry if this has been asked before, but i need a basic understanding of how Distribution/collection from a network folder works. To give you an idea what I need, i'll tell you that Arcobat 9 was purchased by a couple people at work, and they are asking me to figure this out. I'm a web guy and know enough about pdf's to throw one on a web server and put a link to it somewhere. I don't know anything about Acrobat otherwise.
So, If someone can give me a basic overview of how this works, I would really appreciated it. I'm assuming that Acrobat sets up some kind of email server on the user's computer and has a database in it some where.
    Thanks

    Jan,
I have attached a simple example that uses "Basic Level Trigger Detection.vi" found in the Analyze->Waveform Monitoring menu. You can change the slope from rising to falling edge to note the change in the result.
I was unable to find the "Simple Trigger Detection.vi" that is giving you trouble. If you would like you can attach a piece of code that replicates your problem. Please make sure to include all subvi's in the attachment (including the Simple Trigger Detection.vi). I can take a look to see what is going on.
    Thanks.
