Problem accessing a directory

I have a program that created a temporary file that is quite large and I need to delete. It is in the directory "/private" but when I click on the startup disk that directory is not displayed. How can I access it?

To access normally hidden files/folders, you can use the Terminal app and the ls command. Alternatively, you can use something like TinkerTool to display hidden files/folders or run this command in the Terminal app:
*defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles 1*
followed by:
*killall Finder* or OPTION-click on the Finder's Dock icon and select Relaunch.
To hide all those hidden files/folders, run this:
*defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles 0*
and relaunch the Finder.

Can't install i-tunes....problem says...system not modified.....not privileges to access this directory

I had to uninstall my iTunes.....Can't install again...tried 3 times and each time messages read: 1. Systam has not been modified. 2. Installer has insufficient privilages to access this directory; C:\Program Files\iTunes 3. Log on as administrator or contact your administrator

It appears that your user account on your Windows machine is not the system administrator. You are using a limited account most likely.
iTunes will have some issues if used under a limited account.
Go into: Start > Control Panel > Users
See which account is listed as the system administrator. Login to that account and you can promote your main account to system admin from there. Restart your computer if this worked.
If there isn't a system admin listed, there may be parental control software installed preventing you from accessing these settings.
Try installing any other program. (web browsers are good to try cause they are free)
If you are denied access to installing other programs, your user account is not system admin.

EMC Crash when i try to - reset client access virtual directory

1)disable A/V
2) Run: DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

4) disable snap-ins exept DNS-snapin

I'm am trying to upgrade to the newest ITunes version. Whenever I try to do anything like this I get the following message "The installer has insufficient priviledges to access this directory...." Can anyone help? Thanks

I am trying to download the newest version of ITunes. When I try the download, it starts and after a bit the following message appears "The installer has insufficient priviledges to access this directory: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Start\Menu\Programs\ITunes The installation can not continue...."

I can't tell you how much I appreciate your taking the time to help me with this problem. I'm doing a healing technician training class at my church, and have most of my study material on my ipod. It cashed this weekend which hindered my preparation for my class tomorrow night. I went to the local "Apple Store" late last night and they could get me up and running. They suggested that I call the APL CARD line which I did today, but they gave me a nice run around seccession, and did nothing. Then I was lead to "Google" my question, which eventually lead me to the "Apple" site. Now, I'm sure it has something to do with how I'm passing in the username and the groups. But I want to have ANY user log in, not just this test. I may be a little confused on how this works, but if anyone could explain to me why what I am trying to do doesn't work, I would greatly appreciate it.

Can't access my Directory Server using the Console installed on a machine

can't access my Directory Server using the Console installed on a remote server, lookied into knowledge base article 4693, but still same any idea ?

I too am having problems accessing Directory server from Netscape Console installed on Winxp.
If I try to open Directory server it doesn't give any error. No windows nothing.
If I try th same from the machine on which it is installed everything is fine. What is strange is that it did open a couple of times. But at the same time I can open the admin server, Netscape Messaging server from the xp box. Searching all over for a solution. Any help/pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Config details:
iDS4.13, iMS 5.0, running on Sol 8 box
Netscape Console 4.2 on WinXP.

Problem accessing mounted ntfs partitions

Hi,
I have problems accessing ntfs partitions as a non root user. The user trying to acces the partition is in usergroup wheel and has sudo acces.
/etc/fstab looks like this:
/dev/sda5 /media/winC ntfs defaults 0 2
/dev/sdb1 /media/winD ntfs defaults 0 2
It does not matter where I mount them (e.g. /home/user/media/winC), if i try cd-ing into the directory, it tells me:
cd /medi/winC
-bash: cd: /media/winC: Permission denied
When i try the following, it tells me:
sudo cd /medi/winC
sudo: cd: command not found
which I find a bit strange, but ok.
Any pointers what I am doing wrong? cd-ing as root works, but i would like to acces it as a normal user too. Using the following options did not work for me:
rw,suid,dev,exec,auto,users,async
mount -l tells me the following when using the options stated above:
/dev/sda5 on /media/winC type ntfs (ro,nosuid,nodev,noexec,relatime,uid=0,gid=0,fmask=0177,dmask=077,nls=utf8,errors=continue,mtf_zone_multiplier=1)

Start you J2EE engine visual administrator.
Choose Cluster--> server ---> services ---> deploy
Here there will be one application/service named "directory" (dont remember the exact name).Please start that service and your problem should be solved.

Adobe Error 1303. The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:\Programs Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\ARM\1.0 when trying to update Adobe Reader 10.01 on a Windows 7, 64-bit machine. What I've found is that once I allow Adobe Updater to download updates, the 1.0 folder is created under ARM. As long as I don't start the update, I can access this folder. Once the update starts, if I try to access this folder I get an access denied message and the install fails with the Error 1303 message. I've tried making myself the Owner of the folder, tried running KB947821, have disabled the Firewall and shut off the UAC, none of which works. My guess is that there is a problem with the update itself changing the security.
Anyone have any other ideas beyond waiting for the next update, that will hopefully work better than this one?

I am unable to install the newer version of itunes. I have no problem downloading but when it starts to install I get an error message that the installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\StartMenu\Programs\iTunes
I am the administrator but it doesn't recognize it
How do I get around this?

2.find the dar package and upload it by vRo configuration
3.vRo configuration said upload successfully,but the solar system configuration is not properly configued..

I am very new to updating my iPod touch and this is the first time I've used the iCloud. However, I am having problems accessing any apps on my iCloud such as photos, reminders etc. I've set it up on my iPod touch successfully and I can sign in on my PC. However, when I try to access any of the apps it says there was a problem. It doesn't tell me how to fix it or what the problem is.

SCVMM 2008 R2 - "The SQL Server service account does not have permission to access Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS)."

I know this question has been asked before, but never for R2, that I can tell, and the posted fixes aren't working. I have just installed SCVMM 2008 R2 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 server, using a remote SQL 2008 SP1 database. When I attempt to connect to SCVMM, I get the following error:
"The SQL Server service account does not have permission to access Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS).
Ensure that the SQL Server service is running under a domain account or a computer account that has permission to access AD DS. For more information, see "Some applications and APIs require access to authorization information on account objects" in the Microsoft Knowledge Base at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=121054.

What I've seen online is that this is usually becuase the domain account SCVMM is running as does not have the proper permissions on the SQL database. Here's what I've confirmed:
1) My SCVMM service account is a local admin on the SCVMM server
2) My SCVMM service account is a dbowner on the SCVMM database in SQL
3) My SQL service account is a dbowner on the SCVMM database in SQL
4) My SQL service account is a domain user (even made it a domain admin, just in case, and it still "doesn't have access to AD DS," which is obviously untrue)
5) Neither service account is locked out
Has anyone run in to this? It says in Technet that remote SQL 2008 is supported, as long as the SQL management studio is installed to the SCVMM server, and I installed and patched before I began the SCVMM installation. I just don't know what else to try - I have no errors in event logs, no issues during the installation itself...

That answer was very unhelpful fr33m4n. The individual mentions that they've received the error that points to the KB article. I currently receive the same error -- there seems to be no resolution. I've run the Microsoft VBS script to add TAUG to the WAAG
as suggested by 331951, and that made absolutely no difference.

The user is also a member of WAAG, the machines have delegated authority to each other. Is there any other solution?
