I've been having the same issue! I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling ADE but that hasn't helped; I've even created a new Adobe ID and that was also a fruitless venture. I haven't yet tried to unauothorize my device, but I am hesitant to do so as it seems that others have tried and have not succeeded. I am desperately caught in the middle of a series and I would love to have access to the new books that I've been trying to download from my library!

It appears to be a javascript problem, but firefox cannot open pages from ebscohost websites.

I'm a librarian at DePauw University. People who have upgraded to Firefox 5.0 or higher can get to Ebscohost pages but once there cannot do anything. For example, if I am on the Ebscohost Scientific American page and I try to expand +2011 in order to see the 2011 Scientific American issues nothing happens. It looks like javascript is supposed to expand the +2011. Everything works fine in Firefox 3.6.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
1. Clear Firefox's Cache
Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage: "Clear Now"
2. If needed, delete the site's cookies here
right-click a page on the site, choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Remove all cookies on servers ending with sympatico.ca
Then try reloading the page. If you need to log in to read stories, you probably will have to log in again after removing their cookies.

All pdf-links are working fine and the correct document is displayed in a new browser window. but if I open a WORD-document and after that I click on another link to a pdf-file, the WORD-file is loaded again in the new window. Only if I close the window which contains the WORD-document, I can download the correct pdf after that.
Is something wrong with the response header (I tried "attachment" instead of "inline" too but without effect)?
Can anybody help?

Try clearing the browser cache and delete any cookies for that site. If that doesn't resolve it, then that's a problem with the web-site itself, so unless it is your own website, you can't fix it.
Often it's a bug in the website code that detects what device/browser you are using and it gets stuck in a re-direct loop. You could contact the website developers and inform them.

Apple recently in an Update to Lion blocked Java from running on its computers due to Apple's stated belief that Java's software code is too high a security threat for running Malware. You would need to download and reinstall Java, if you think that's a good idea.

Cannot Open Adobe Reader 9

I have spent the better part of three days trying to follow the threads to fix my problem. Most of the suggestions invlove opening Reader 9 and do this and that. I am using Windows Vista ( which I detest) and I cannot even open Reader 9. I get a window that says "Windows has detected an internal error." No further instructions, no error number, no nothing.
I have also gone to the Adobe Support site for Reader. Even tho I registered my application, I did not locate my PW. ID is my e-mail but when I go to the "forgot PW" page, and enter my ID, which it says is Step One, the page just keeps saying ID and PW do not match, which is WHY I am at THAT page to begin witrh. This is very frustrating. I am at that proverbial "Catch 22" situation and am pulling my hair out.
I cannot open any e-mail attachment that is sent in Adobe ( which 95% of them are), cannot begin to fix the problem because I cannot open Reader 9 and cannot contact tech support because they do not allow me to retrieve my PW. Help!!!!!!!!!!!

I am having the same exact problem as you are having. I am also using Windows Vista and am having problems with Adobe Reader 9.1 The download doesn't seem to fully complete. I also am an administrator and logged in as such on this computer. I had another user account that I created for others that might use this computer. I logged into that user account yesterday and I received notifications that updates were available for Adobe, Internet Explorer, and Firefox. I installed all the updates and got the problem with Adobe Reader. Could the problem have been created by me installing the update for Adobe Reader through the user account? Adobe Reader worked on the user account but then I logged off and logged into my main account (administrator account) and there was a problem with Adobe. I tried to uninstall Adobe Reader (through the control panel) and was unsuccessful (I figured I can uninstall it and then reinstall). I then just deleted the user account and arrived to where I am right now.
I click on Adobe Reader's shortcut on my desktop and get a popup stating:
"An internal error occurred."
Then I close the popup and get the famous green bar from hell that is associated with Vista stating:
"Adobe Reader 9.1 has stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." blah blah blah
I then click to close that window....windows returns a solution...to go to Adobe Incorporated....etc. and sends me to download Adobe Reader 9.1....I proceed to download
First I get a popup window during the installation process stating:
"Welcome to Setup for Adobe Reader 9.1 Adobe Reader 9.1 Setup is preparing to guide you through the program setup process. Please wait. Computing space requirements."
Then the process gets interrupted with this popup:
"Setup Completed Setup was interrupted before Adobe Reader 9.1 could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again. Click Finish to exit setup."
Along with the previous window I also get an error message stating the following:
"Adobe Reader 9.1 Installer Information Error 1606. Could not access network location %APPDATA%\."
There is an Adobe Reader 9 Installer file on my desktop which includes the setup files. I open the setup file to complete the installation process and I get the same error messages.
I believe this problem has to do with the registry.
This is very frustrating. CAN ANYONE WITH INFORMATION HELP PLEAAAAAASSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Can't open sequence - out of memory!

Hi,
I put a long HD clip onto a sequence and my computer couldn't handle it. I couldn't edit the sequence without getting "error: out of memory" messages. I closed the sequence and now I can't open it because of the lack of memory.
I saved changes to my project (stupid I know, but there were previous changes I wanted to keep) and closed my project. Now I can't open that sequence at all.
I closed all other apps, I rebooted, I made sure my scratch disk had plenty of space, but I still can't open it up to delete the clip! Error: Out of memory. i have 1.25gigs of ram installed, but I don't really want to upgrade.
Does any one have any hot tips before I have to take my project to another mac with more memory?

Let me try a couple suggestions. I assume you can open FCE without problem, while you cannot open that specific project.
- Have you checked the Memory Usage in System Preferences ? if you have enough RAM the Application value should be 100%; if not, increase this value.
- The Still Cache in the same panel refers to additional memory used for stills: by temporarily reducing this you might be able to add more memory to the application (as above)
(BTW: is it possible that you added too many stills, and the problem is the still cache itself ? - if so do the opposite: increase Still Cache till you can open the project again)
- The Thumbnail Cache uses application memory: again, by temporarily reducing it to the minimum (probably 0) you add some memory to the application.
I hope one of these suggestions work with you.

Cannot open multiple firefox windows

The problem is I cannot open multiple firefox windows at 1 time. It keeps saying that firefox is running or it just spins on the 2nd time that we press on the firefox icon every time I do this. Can you please come up with a solution. Yes we can open up multiple tabs but cannot get more than 1 session running at a time.
Is there a fix for this?

RV215W inbound rules with control ip - cannot open port 25

I have the exact same router, exact same firmware and the this exact same problem. I cannot open port 25 and specify a range of IP addresses. This is simply not working. What do we have to do to get this to work correctly? When I port forward the SMTP service it allows all IP's and works fine. When i try to use an Access Rule, it does not work. It's not just single port forwarding that has bugs, the entire router has bugs and simply does not work as advertised. I have found the following bugs/aspects of this router that just does not work correctly: 1. If you have to open ports, and who doesn’t, this router will eventually stop accepting packets from WAN>LAN. You will still have Internet access but no open ports. A reboot will fix this problem. Oh, by the way, this router has no scheduled reboot option! ••ßThat would be a workaround but a welcome one for this router. 2. Firewall Access rules do not work!! Yep, a Cisco router and basic functionality simply does not work. I called Cisco and even though the tech saw the router not working denied it was a bug! Said we have to do port mirroring, setup a workstation with WireShark and capture packets so we can debug the issues! I told him I would have appreciated if Cisco would have debugged the issues with their router BEFOR they shipped the units. Stay away from Cisco Small Business Routers. I wish I had. And if there are any Cisco die-hards out there willing to prove me wrong, just reply to this and please, prove me wrong that the RV series and specifically the RV215W is not JUNK.

Cannot open images from picasa/instant upload/google cloud

The majority of my photos are stored in google cloud... in picasa galleries, and google instant upload galleries. I can open a photo from local storage on my phone with no problem, but I cannot open any of the photos from the cloud. The instant upload and picasa snyc are a huge part of google's ecosystem and android's gallery. Other photo editing apps on the market can open all of the photos seemlessly, but photoshop cannot. If I open a photo from instant upload, or a picasa gallery, it does nothing and returns to the main screen of the app. This is a major problem for me. Any solutions or planned fixes?
To clarify, in case this is vague... if I go to the "new project from" screen, then select "photo library", my gallery opens, with my camera folder, facebook folder, instagram folder, instant upload gallerys, picasa galleries, etc... everything is visible. If I choose anything that is local (camera, facebook, instagram, etc), then it opens fine. If I choose anything that is in the cloud (instant upload galleries, picasa galleries), the app goes back to the start and never opens the photo.
Phone is a galaxy nexus running 4.2.2, but i suspect this will be the same across all phones.

A temporary "work around" is to use an app that can import correctly (snapseed, pixlr, etc), and then save the picture to local storage, then go in to PS and open it that way. Thats sort of a pain though because you end up with a copy back on local storage that you don't want.

2 Always open with protected mode disaled
3 Do not opern with protected mode disabled.
My only option is to open with protected mode disabled.
But when I go online, I do not get that option - It just says problems with adobe and connot download.
