Problem Configuring UWL
I am having problem showing task from UWL in SAP gui, when i click on the show tak in sap, it takes me to the main sap screen in gui, but not to the task, does anyone know what are the parameters have to be set on the ITS, and WAS.
Hi Lasse,
in the end, I had to create an OSS message. They told me that there is a view configuration setting "emphasizedItems", which is set to "unread" for SAP office mails by default.
To get the actual amount of unread/new items, I had to change this property to "new".
<View name="SAPOfficeMailView"
selectionMode="MULTISELECT"
width="98%"
supportedItemTypes="uwl.som"
emphasizedItem="new"
referenceBundle="task_sapofficemails">
You have to change this value and upload a new configuration XML file, clear de UWL cache and it's done.
Hope it helps as it helped me.
Best Regards,
Marcelo

Problems configuring HP Laserjet M1213nf MFP with Mac via AirPrint
Hello,
I have a HP Laserjet M1213nf MFP printer, connected to a Dlink DSL-2730U ADSL router. I am having problems configuring the printer with my Macbook running OSX Yosemite. I can see the printers name in nearby printers but when I try to add the printer, the mac gives me an error saying, "unable to communicate with the printer at this time". The network settings on the printer are configure for iPv4 and iPv6 addresses.
Previously, I had the ADSL DSL-2750U model router, and the printer was connected fine. I did not face any issues then. I have been facing problems since I changed my router so the problem should be in the router. I have the IP for the printer reserved in the DHCP reservation list on the router settings using the mac address of the printer.
Can someone please help me out here? Is there something I am probably missing.
Rgds
~n~I talked to the DLink Support. They asked me to disable an option called "MultiAP Isolation" and Voila, the printer is working fine. I can add it to all my devices on the wireless network. I looked up google. Apparently, this isolation feature present in some routers, prevent wifi clients to interact with other devices connected to the wired network and also with each other. Thats why only my desktop which was also connected wired was only able to access the printer and not the laptops connected wirelessly.
Problem solved. Thanks for all your help on this one.

Getting authorization error while configuring UWL.
Hii All,
I want to configure UWL on my EP.
Now i want to know that whether its required to have SSO on place before implementing UWL.
Do i need administrative right on R3 also, to register the system in UWL administration.
i have administrative right on EP, but not on R3.
Which roles i require on R3 to configure UWL on EP, because while trying to register my R3 system in UWL administration i a getting below error:
(Connector) :com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.connect.ConnectorException:Tue Mar 06 14:06:20 GMT 2012
(Connector) :com.sap.portal.connectivity.destinations.PortalDestinationsServiceException:User is missing credentials for connecting to alias <System Alias>. Contact your system administrator.
I have SAP_BC_BMT_WFM_UWL_ADMIN and SAP_BC_UWL_ADMIN_USER roles on R3.
I am also not able to test my system successfully, but when i created a transaction iView and used this system, then it is successfully executed.
I also tested a T-Code from System admin>>support>>SAP application>>Test and configuration tool>>SAP Transaction>>Selected System and given tcode and GO, it is also opening my T-Code, when i am using SAP GUI for HTML, but again i am getting error when i am selecting SAP GUI for Windows.
Any help will be appreciated.
Regards,
AmarHi,
At least I've seen this same error when my user in portal did not have permission to the system object. So, go to check the system object and check its permissions. Probably they are OK, if you are admin, but worth to check.
As far as I know, you should not need the SSO for configuring UWL. But make sure that you have at least some kind of working user mapping defined for you user in portal UME.
Also, make sure that you are not seeing any short dumps in transaction ST22 for your user in backend.
The error message looks like that you might be having some permission/authorisation error in portal side, but it should be straightforward to do simple authorization trace in backend too and see if you are missing some authorisations. Of course the easiest way to check a possible missing authorization issue is to ask SAP_ALL profile for a moment for your user - then at least your auth. level is enough.

Hi,
We have deployed ESS/MSS 1.0 business Package on EP 7.0. sp13
I am encountering problem in UWL. Whenever i click on any task in UWL, it displays following error :- Services is not started.
We had then change setting for sysstem >>WAS properties
in that if we give epserver :50000 .
then the leave request task is working .ie on click of the task open the task in the new window.
But then the ABAP WEBDYNPRO iview will stop working .(ie service cannot be find)
So it not possible to use both the things at a same time .
Since we are using only one system for the UWL and connecting to ESS and MSS in R/3
Usally in WAS properties we have to give R/3 server : 80XX
will be the port know .
regards,
Jigar Ozahi,
What are the services needed to be activated. can you pls explain me the procedure to be carried out in SICF....so that i could check whether if i have missed some steps.

Can anyone help me in this issue.hi,
-This kind of issue that you are facing looks like a known issue when
setting up the UWL connection to the backend, so we suggest you to
ensure that you followed the steps from SAP Note #1133821 and
that the username specified on step 7 is valid and has the requested
role assined?
1. Open the Visual Administrator.
2. Navigate to the Cluster -> <INSTANCE ID> -> Server<SERVER NAME> ->
Services -> Destinations.
3. Double click on Destinations node.
4. Under Destinations select RFC node.
5. Click on "New" button.
6. In the "Enter destination name:" input dialog give as destination
name the following: <SYSTEM ALIAS>$<UWL CONNECTOR TYPE>
(e.g.: BXTCLNT100$WebFlowConnector )
(7. Fill in the following fields: System ID, Message Server, Logon
Group,Language, Client, Username, Password. The other fields remain
default. (Make sure the user you specify has "SAP_BC_UWL_SERVICE" role
assigned. This is needed to fetch the technical informations from the
backend.)
8. Click on the "Save and Test" button
9. "Successfully connected to system <SYSTEM ID> as user<Username>" info
dialog has to appear.
10. In other cases check the settings again and check the connection to
the backend system.
Hope that those info have helped you to solve the issue,
Would you kindly confirm this message giving us your valuable feedback?

Problems configuring Platform Domain with MS Sql Server
Hi,
We are having problems configuring a Platform Domain with MS Sql Server 2000.
We are using Weblogic version 7.0.0.2. These are the steps we followed
1.We manually created a database called TestDB and created a user account called
"system", pwd ==>> "weblogic" in SQL server and assigned him as the DB owner for
the TestDB created.
2. Changed dbsettings_properties files (Commented pointbase entries and uncommented
SQL Server entries. I gave the connection parameter as connection=jdbc:weblogic:mssqlserver4:localhost:1433
in this file.
3. Modified Config.xml and changed properties for DataSyncPool, WLIPool, CommercePool,WLIPool
and modified the RDBMS realm properties to point to the database.
4. ran the create_db script and it seemed to have run fine looking at the log
file.
5. I then tried to start the BEA Server instance and I get the following error.
I am also attaching the config.xml file for reference.
Appreciate any help/suggestions. Thanks in Advance.

How to configure UWL inbox to SMTP
Dear Experts,
I have configured SMTP server in my Portal and it is working fine. I could trigger mails from my Portal.
Now how do i configure UWL with SMTP so that any Task assigned or any Tracking update mail should trigger to Users.
Regards,
MaheshHi,
please check out the wiki first:
http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BPX/UWL%20FAQ
as well as the documentation provided by help.sap.com
There you can find lots of information about it.

Hi All,
We are having two systems MDM and ECC. We want all item from different systems should come to same UWL. It is working fine for users having access to both the systems. It is not working for them having access to one system only.
Suppose user is having access to MDM system buy not the ECC system. Then user is getting the error for ECC, portaldestinationsserviceexception User is missing credential for connecting alias ... The error is very much logical because they do not have access to ECC system. How to deal with the error?
My requirement is every user should get everything in one UWL. People having access to one system is getting the error for other system. If I create two iview the my ultimate motto to get everything in one UWL is lost.
Thanks in advance.
RaktimHi Raktim,
Here's what you can do :
1. create one role for MDM users (UWL_MDM for instance)
2. assign this role to MDM users
3. edit the UWL systems used for MDM and paste the id of the UWL_MDM role in the User Roles field
(in System Administration > System Configuration > UWL & Workflow > UWL Administration)
Do the same for the ECC system.
Users with the UWL_MDM role will have access to the MDM work items, users with UWL_ECC role will have access to the ECC work items and users with both roles will have access to MDM and ECC work items. And the error messages won't appear anymore.
EDIT : you can also disable the error message using the "Display Connection Status" property of the UWL iView : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/36/dd4ad73c86412e81e9ce66eeb147e7/frameset.htm

Hi All,
How to configure UWL for ESS & MSS Business Package in Portal
Thanks & Regards
Kirubakaran D.The configuration of the UWL isn't so much for ESS and/or MSS as it is for just your portal users in general. The configuration of the UWL is actually done in the portal itself under the System Administration role. I suggest starting there and reading all the information. Also, the help.sap.com documentation on the UWL generally will step you through it all. Even in the MSS help documentation, there is a basic section on setting up "bare bones" UWL config. Have a go at that first.

Configuring UWL tasks that are created by a GP process
Hello,
We need help with configuring UWL tasks that are created by a GP process.
In the portal (NW04s SP7), we went to System Admin > System Config > Universal Worklist Administration and then added a System called "GuidedProcedures" with the connector type "GuidedProceduresConnector". But when we goto "Click to Administrate Item Types and View Definitions", the only gp system that we see is "uwl.gp.config". So we have a few questions about this:
1) Should we be editing this XML file (uwl.gp.config)? We were thinking that we should get another config file named uwl.GuidedProceduresConnector.<systemalias>.
2) Does each GP process have a unique ID? If yes, then how do we find that ID?
Any help on this would be much appreciated
Thanks,
HarmanHi Harman,
There is no button to start a process directly from the UWL for ths simple reason that it is impossible to see a process template in the UWL (but in the GP Design Time).
In the UWL, you can only display an overview of the Work Item. If you want display the form, I guess you use a Callable Object. There is unfortunetaly no possibility to do the thing differently. But, you could in the approval callable object display the input form (or a copie of it) as well as more information. For that, you could have a look at the time-off process delivered with the standard installation.
Hope this helps you.

Problem configuring Username token profile on ALSB
Hi All !!
First of all, thanks for your support!!
I'm facing a problem configuring an active intermediary Proxy service with username token profile. This proxy service has a security policy referencing Auth.xml file to implement Username token profile. That proxy calls a business service which calls a web service.
On test page, username and password is requested (already created in the security domain), then an error is returned "Unable to add security token for identity".
Below you can find the Invocation Trace:

Configure UWL - notification to outlook - when task gets pushed to uwl
Hello Everyone,
We are looking into how to configure uwl so it sends a notification to outlook automatically (without any CO programming in GP) as soon as it receives a task in the list.
Our team is hold up on this task and trying to finish up during the weekend
Any guidance is appreciated. Full points will be rewarded for your help.
Thanks
ShahidHi everyone,
I wanted to clarify. The steps we followed in the post mentioned above In GP how to get work items in outlook inbox, did work for the UWL tasks that were created within UWL. An email was sent to outlook. Thank you for that information.
It did not work for GP. We have found that even though GP creates a task in the UWL, it does not use the UWL's email configuration to send a notification. In order to achieve that, we have manually tested the GP Callable Object. Is this the only way?
Thanks

Problem configuring RVS4000 router
I just purchase the Cisco Router RVS4000 vpn and I am having problem configuring the VPN option. I just try all way I could imaging, but somehow something are missing and I don't know what it is. Here are a image of my current configuration.
Without examining this in detail, it is only half of the equation. The other end of the tunnel needs to be configured as well. BTW, don't ever post your WAN IP and shared key in a public forum. Change the key.

Task Launch Configuration Problem in UWL
Hi All,
I have added some new entries in the SWFVISU in my Backend with the visualisation parameters.
Now when I go back to my UWL configurations and re-register the system, the new conigurations
are not reflected in UWL System Config.
This was perfect before the system went down for patching. After the system was up again,
this seems like the UWL Config is not getting updated for any changes done in Backend in SWFVISU.
What may be wrong ? Please thorw some light on this.
Thanks
DebHi,
