Problem connecting windows 7 computer to ezxs55w switch

I've got a simple wired network with a ezxs55w switch uplinked to a befsr41 router.  My win 2K system and a canon network printer work fine on the switch, but a new dell running windows 7 does not make a connection when plugged into the switch, but it does work when plugged into a port the router.  When plugged into the switch there are no lights on the computer nic.  The switch seems to recognize something as all three leds for the port come on but turn off immediately and then repeat the process every few seconds.  The cables and ports all work ok with the win2k computer.  Ideas?

my first try - didn't work, also 100/half dp failed.  10 works either way.  this is a faithful but v2 hardware switch - as we get older the timing seems to go... Clearly the move to gigabit transmission nic's is showing problems with timing for auto sensing in earlier switches etc. Another of those things that would always work passes on.  Good thing in w-7 is you can change settings, click ok, and immediately see by the leds if it works or not.  Just for interest it would be neat to see what the difference (in a very condensed form)  between the router ports and the switch port logic/timing is for us geeks.  Meanwhile my multi-gigahertz quad core boat anchor sees the world at 80's speed, but there's a birthday coming up -

  • Why has my ipad mini screen switched off and i cant get it on. It still connects to the computer but wont switch on. ive tried a restoring it. it hasnt helped

I was watching a video on the internet when my ipad screen suddenly went black. its not responding but still connects to the computer fine. I tried to restore it and it hasnt helped. it says its restored but the screen still wont function. Is it broke for good?

Is it possible that your battery has died? or that it's gotten too hot?
It is possible that the screen has died, or it could just be a glitch (my screen stopped responding once, eventually all I needed to do was give it a reset)
Since your device responds it means its guts are still good.
Is it still under warranty? If so and if the screen has failed it could qualify for a replacement.

  • Connect Windows 8 Computer to Windows Small Business Server 2003

I am unable to connect my Windows 8 Desktop to our server that is running Windows Small Business 2003.

I have specific errors listed below:
Actually, I have been encountering similar problems.  I have an end user who wants to connect to an SBS 2003 server, and can not connect/use RWW because the Active X will not work, cannot use the VPN in PPTP mode because Windows 8 disallows the connection
("Error 942: The connection could not be established because the authentication method used by your connection profile is not permitted for use by an access policy configured on the RAS/VPN server."), and cannot use an L2TP VPN connection because it requires
a certificate "Error 766: A certificate could not be found. Connections that use the L2TP protocol over IPSEC require the installation of a machine certificate, also known as a computer certificate.".  I attempted to utilize the SBS Connection Tool downloaded
from RWW, but it fails with a proxy error ("Unable to execute custom script (Configure proxy settings for IE). Required file could be missing." - likely due to the PPTP tunnel it tries to use). I went so far as to install the Enterprise CA on the server, installed
    the Hotfix
(KB922706) so that the website could be accessed from Vista and above, and installed the requested certificate.  The VPN fails to connect after
it times out and fails to negotiate a connection.  This last one is "Error 789: L2TP connection attempt failed because the security layer
encountered a processing error during the initial negotiations with the remote computer."
I have screenshots to share if anyone cares to see.  I really just get the feeling that Microsoft is trying to kill SBS 2003 by ingoring it into oblivion.
The VPN works fine with Windows 7 clients by the way.

  • Problem connecting Windows NT

Hi all, maybe it is quite easy what I am asking but can you help me?
I have an Ultra5 with Solaris 7 and a PC with Windows NT 4. I want to share a directory (or a file system) from the Ultra 5, so that the PC will see it as its own and use it to store documents from Word, Excel etc.
If it is easier just tell me in which Sun documents I have to look.

  • 5si/mx LaserJet problems connecting to new computer

I have a LaserJet 5si/mx with a JetDirect 10Base-T card connected through a router. I am trying to connect it to a new iMac, but the computer won't see it. My internet connection is through the same router and it works. Any thoughts?
    Thanks for your help.

That will take you to the apple website where you can purchase the cord. I don't know why it dosent list the ipod mini under the compatible list maybe because its a bti older but thats the same cord i got with my ipod touch and it works with my mini aswell.

My ATV is no longer snappy...every time I go to another song, it sits there with the little wheel turning "looking" for the music.

Any ideas why this could be happening? Is it somehting with my Wifi settings or security?

  • Problem with iBook G4 and Belkin KVM switch

I purchased an iBook G4 a few months ago, and then recently got a Belkin KVM switch to share a monitor with my Windows XP computer. The switch is powered over USB (so uses a USB mouse and keyboard). It worked great up until recently. Now, whenever I switch over to the iBook, it shows the OSX desktop, and you can hear the USB devices (mouse and keyboard) "unplug" from the XP box (familiar USB sound on XP). Then, after about 2 or 3 seconds, it goes back to the XP display and re-enables the USB mouse and keyboard in XP. The only thing I can figure is that the KVM switch is not getting any or enough power from the iBook USB to let it know it's there. I should mention that the only thing I did different in between the time it worked and started to not work was plug in an M-Audio Fasttrack USB guitar device to the iBook at the same time. Both the KVM and Fasttrack worked together only once. Now, the KVM won't work, both alone and with the Fasttrack. I have used the Fasttrack before and it worked just fine, but this was the first time I used it with the KVM together.
I have seen a few posts on this general topic, but none that I saw had any possible solutions. Could it be an OSX update that broke this somehow? Thanks.
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

Well, I managed to figure out the problem. I called Belkin, and they suggested unplugging everything and then plugging it back in. And, wouldn't you know, it worked. I'm not sure why, but I'm not complaining. So, if anyone else runs into this same issue, try this.

  • I get an error message when trying to install windows 7 on my macbook pro. The message says "windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. I don't have anything connected to my computer. How do I fix this?

I'm trying to install windows 7 on my macbook pro. I went through the process of bootcamp telling it to install windows 7. Once the windows boot manager started an error message came up. The error message says " windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. I don't have a usb connected to my computer. I  am using windows 7 professional install disc. I  can't figure out what i am doing wrong. The same message keeps coming up over and over. Am I doing something wrong or is it something else?

Well, shucks, i just spent almost 30 minutes trying to find your model user guide to explain it better, I guess they never got around to making it.....
I would just borrow another Windows disk and try installing it again and if it does it again then you might take it to an Apple Store and see if one of the "Genius' " can figure it out.
Make sure your internet is enabled and click on your blank desktop and at the top of your screen is a Help menu option, enter PRAM and it should give you a list of things relating to Pram. It may take a few seconds to list anything as it has to connect to Apples severs first. It should list the things you may have to fill back in when your done.
"P-ram" stores some common information that is used in the background, your date, time, startup disk, etc, that you don't have to re-fill when you restart, it's a little different for each computer.

    Hey,
Any proposed answer for this ?
I face the same problem and my environment
and I've got same results as dle2k
    1. TS lic mode is set to per user confirmed it works for windows clients.
    2. the TS server's system log logged error "The Terminal Server security layer detected an error in the protocol stream and has disconnected the client".
    3. the reports shows per user cal has been issued to users. no temp per device cal has been issued.
    4. yes, CoRD works .
    5. we tried version 2.1.1 of the Mac RD Client but it also does not work.

    Hello,

I wanted to Connect to my Computer A (with Database runing on it) from another Windows 7 Computer B.

Of course on both Computers there is a windows-Firewall running, so I stopped on both Systems the Firewall, but its the same still.
In the windows explorer running on Computer B , I can see the data of Computer A and both Computers are in the same home-net-group. (sorry for my poor english).
Is there anyone who cann tell me how to get the Connection running ?
Maybe I didn't see the info about this in the manuals, if it is there, please give me a hint.

    Hello, bluebelle95.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your device is not recognized by iTunes, I would recommend the steps in the article below.  Start with the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.
