Problem creating a 'used sources' list based on EXIF data in InDesign CS5

Hello everyone,
I recently started to use InDesign CS5 to work on school projects. These projects regularly require us to have a list of sources, not only for citations and referenced work, but also for images. As I sometimes make quite long documents, keeping track of what image is where, and where I got it from, gets tedious.
I had the idea of generating a caption based on EXIF data, which I'd move to the pasteboard, and group it with the image. The text in the caption has a seperate, numbered paragraph style. On one of the last pages, I generate a table of contents, which the numbered paragraph style selected. I chose to display it using another paragraph style, without page numbers.
What I want to have as the end result is:
Table of contents
1. <Title>. <Author> (<Creation Date>). Retrieved <Date Placed> through <Description>
The captions display correctly, as shown above in the body of the table of contents. The table of contents itself however, shows only the numbering in front of it, and not the variables.
I already tried converting the live captions to static captions, but that doesn't work. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this?

IList is an interface, not a class. This means that it can't be instantiated (can't be "newed").
List is a class, so it can be instantiated. It implements the IList interface, which means that it must provide the functionality specified in that interface.
That's what an interface is - a definition of functionality that a class must provide. An interface is often described as a contract that a class must fulfill.
So in the code in your last post, you are saying that arL is an instance of some class that implements the IList interface, and you are then setting it to an instance of the class List. The List class implements the IList interface, so this assignment is
legit. It would also be legit to use any other class that implements IList, such as an array.
Any class that implements IList can have as much extra functionality as whoever wrote it likes, as long as it implements at least the functionality of the interface.
Sometimes you will come across a method in a library over which you have no control and which returns IList rather than list. In such a case you will be forced to do something like...
    IList list = SomeMethodOrOther();
So you will have no idea what class list is an instance of, but you will know that it has the functionality of IList. This is about the only circumstance where I would recommend defining a variable as IList rather than List (but it probably won't be long
before there are some replies to this post that disagree).

  • Creating a dynamic Selection List based on a View Object

    Hello,
I'm new to JDeveloper and I would like to create a JSP Page with dynamic Selection List based on a runtime query or based on a view object (BC4J). The selection made by an user should serve another dynamic query with the necessary parameters that I built using createViewObjectFromQueryStmt(). By now I tried this using the InputSelectLOV from the Component Palette in JDeveloper. But without success. By the way: the selection list is not very large (5 values), so it's not necessary to have a form finding the desired value.
Maybe someone had experience about creating this already. Please give me a tip or a little example.
    Thanks.

  • Problem creating jar using JDeveloper

I'm creating jar using JDeveloper..I need to keep two dll files in the jar. But if I create the jar in JDeveloper, it can't include the dll files. If the jar is created from command prompt, it can include the dll files. Can anyone tell me how can I include these dlls in my jar?

Putting DLLs in your classes directory is dangerous (eg. Run->Clean Project.jpr will remove it). I use a different way to achieve that:
When you double click on the deployment profile you'll see a dialog window containing a list of items. The one of interest is the one called File Groups. Select this item, click on the New button and add a new file group just for your DLLs.

  • Price not adopted from Contract using Source list

    Hi all!
I have read a few threads related to Source lists and why assignment does not pick up the price from the contract if the contract is the only source, but do still not understand this.
I have a sourcelist with a fix source of supply (Vendor, Contract). During automatic assignment, this contract is picked up correctly, but the price from the material master is retained. Why does the system not adopt the price from the contract?
Appriciate if someone could explain the logic behind this system behaviour.
    brgs Ziggy

    Hi
Check whether any parameter id (EFB or EVO) is assigned to your id in SU01. If the price is copied from PO, then you will have a parameter id EFB in your user in SU01 which is defined in OMET. EVO is buyer's default. Standard SAP is it defaults from last PO. You define buyer default in customization and stop copying last PO price in your new PO.

    Hi,
Please check the WM config for the Warehouse / Movement type(Tx. OMLX) . There we have option to give as immediate confirmation. This may be the reason for TO getting confirmed when created.
U can this by creating a transfer order for the same movement type manually in TX. LT03. After you save if the To is confirmed then its a config setup @ Warehouse / Movement type.

  • Creating Repositories using MS SQL Server DataBase in Data Service Reposito

    HI All,
I installed BODS and I am trying to create repository using Data Service Repository Manager but I am getting the following error message :
Cannot open connection to the repository.  The error message from the underlying DBMS is <ODBC call <SQLDriverConnect> for data source <localhost> failed: <[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.>. Notify Customer Support.>. (BODI-20006)
An error occurred during creation of the local repository. (BODI-300054)
While installing BODS i used the option to create DB .... Before that even I had Microsoft SQL server installed for MDM which was working fine (Able to Log on and so on)...
Do I need to install Oracle in order to create repositories? How to proceed further please suggest.
    many Thanks
    Rajeev.

    Hi!
What version of SQL Server are you using for the repositories? Maybe the error is because DS can not create repositories in SQL Server 2008. You can read and write data with SQL2008, but you need to create the repositories in SQL2005 or another RDBMS. I'm not sure when DS is going to be able to create them in SQL2008.
I hope this could help you. Greetings!
    See you

  • Dynamic Select List based on TextField data

    Hi,
I like to dynamically display the select list based on the value in the textfield, the data in the textfield is of character type.
    Thanks

    Hello,
Well as you now know HTML based select lists don't work like that, that widget is called a combo box and there will be built in combo boxes in APEX 3.0, it's a fairly complex dhtml widget.
What you might want to do is provide a text item next to your select box and an Add New Value Option in your select list.

  • Can you create a javascript dynamic menu based on security data in oracleDB

I am looking for a dynamic javascript menu that is generated based on the user role... basically i get the user role from ldap and then I have a Security table in oracle data base that has the permission info and i want to generate my dynamic menu based on the data in the database table.... the table has the following columns
    private String userId;
private String security_level; // page level , field level
    private String permission; //CRUD
    private String permissionType; //ALLOW, DENY

    Hello Suzie,
It is possible but you have "many" ways to do it, since what will happen is the javascript will be generated by an application.
Are you developing a J2EE application? with or without JSF?
The best way will be to Google to find a good Javascript menu library, and adapt the generation of it based on the content of your database.

  • Using aperture to update iPhoto EXIF data?

I recently went back and added geocoding data to a number of pictures in my iPhoto library (i.e. I used HoudahGeo to add the relevant EXIF tags to the "original" JPG/NEF files buried in the iPhoto library).
iPhoto lacks Aperture's "Update EXIF data based on master" functionality, so this data is still missing both from the iPhoto database (i.e. it still appears blank in the photo's "get info" window) and from the "modified" file's EXIF tags.
Is there a way I can use my copy of Aperture to make this update? (I'm still very much learning how to use this program, so sorry if the question is naive.) Is there a way to, e.g., "mount" an iPhoto library in Aperture, run the "Update EXIF" command and then have everything be exactly as it was in iPhoto, except for 3 updated EXIF tags on each photo?
Otherwise, has anyone else found a good way to retroactively geocode iPhoto pictures (without losing iPhoto albums, ratings, events, keywords, hidden-ness, etc.)?
    Thanks!

This is now easy to due in iPhoto -- thanks to the new "re-scan for location information" menu item added by a recent software update.

  • Problem creating dataset using db2 stored procedure in Eclipse BIRT

    Hi,
I am using DB2 9.7 Express Edition in Eclipse BIRT(version 2.5.1) for generating reports. I have used Type4 driver for jdbc connection.
For that, I have established jdbc connection using db2jcc.jar and db2jcc_license_cu.jar files.
I have successfully created data source, say DB2BIRT having following requisites-
    Driver Class - com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver ( v3.50)
    Driver URL - jdbc:db2://localhost:50000/database_name
    User name - user_name
    Password - Password
I have written some stored procedures and trying to use resultsets from those stored procedures into my report..
The stored procedures having involvement of only single resultset are working absolutely fine for new dataset using above DB2BIRT.
But, I am unable to create new dataset using stored procedures those having involvement of multiple resultsets.
I am getting following error as -
    org.eclipse.birt.data.engine.odaconsumer.PreparedStatement$SequentialResultSetHandler getMoreResults

Can anybody address my this issue for successful implementation of stored procedure(with involvement of multiple resultsets) for creating Data set in Eclipse BIRT ?
    I will be really thankful.
    Thanks in advance,
    Manasi

Well, in my stored procedure I have used 2 to3 cursors(as per my business logic) and all cursors except one are holding result sets. That exceptional cursor is intended for holding as well as returning result set after call to the procedure. And its perfectly running on db2 and returning the desired output. The problem is with Eclipse. The same procedure is not working in Eclipse BIRT.

  • Unable to create working dynamic distribution list based on manager

    Hi,
I am struggling to create a working dynamic distribution group. I am following the instructions at http://help.outlook.com/en-gb/140/Dd264647.aspx.
My intent is to create DDG's based on a user's manager and their job title. In my org, sales managers will typically have 3 teams reporting to them. In our AD, this would be marked by a 3-4 letter acronym in the job title field (CSO,DCO,SDCO).
I am trying to create distribution groups for use by their manager by having the manager and job title item as the filter, using the following script:
    New-DynamicDistributionGroup -Name "GROUPNAME" -RecipientFilter {(RecipientType -eq 'UserMailbox') -and (manager -eq 'Managername') -and (title -eq 'ACRONYM')}
As an aside, I am unable to find if the manager object should be an alias, upn or ad object. I've tried with all with no success.
No matter what permutations of the above script I try, nothing seems to work. The group creates, but does not work at all.
Any help you can provide would be very much appreciated!

    Hi Ed,
I did try that, and as it turned out, I was using the wrong powershell from the start.
The commands above are for Office 365, not on-prem Exchange 2013. Having spoken to Microsoft, it seems like the AD object for manager may not be a filterable option at all, I'm waiting to hear back.
If this can help jog anyone's mind, the commands we're looking towards now look something like this:
New-DynamicDistributionGroup -Name "testname" -Alias "testname" -IncludedRecipients "MailboxUsers,MailContacts" -OrganizationalUnit "domain.local/users" -ConditionalDepartment "Test" -RecipientContainer "domain.local"
We're still looking for a filter for manager in there, and I'll update the thread if I get anything worthy of note. Bear in mind that it's going to be difficult to settle for anything less than the manager object to filter by, as our requirements pretty
    much demand it.
    Thanks all.
