Problem i loading jdbc connections , in JBOSS

In my jboss , when i deploy and run my project, i am getting login page and when i give my uid and pwd and submit data, its throwing exception saying connectivity is not present.
but when i refresh the same page and resend the data again its getting connected to db and getting validated.

  • Beginner Has Problem With Loading JDBC Driver Using MySQL

    Hi, I am having problem with loading JDBC driver, and need your diagnotic help.
    1. I have installed MySQL (C:\mysql), created a databse (soup), and created a littel table (VIDEOS). I am able to see the table in the console:
    sql> select * from videos
    2. I have downloaded the latest version of Connector/J (mysql-connector-java-3.1.0-alpha.zip), and unzip the zip file into my C:\ directory.
    3. I copied the mysql-connector-java-3.1.0-alpha-bin.jar to the C:\j2sdk1.4.1_02\jre\lib\ext folder and it is in my CLASSPATH
    4. MySQL server is running
    C:\> C:\mysql\bin\mysqld-nt --standalone
    5. open another DOS window and use the database
    mysql>USE SOUP
    6. succesfully compiled a Java program (javac Test.java):
    import java.sql.* ;
    public class Test
    public static void main( String[] args )
    try
    Class.forName("org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver").newInstance();
    try
    Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection( "jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/soup" );
    try
    Statement statement = con.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs = statement.executeQuery("SELECT TITLE FROM VIDEOS");
    while ( rs.next() )
    System.out.println( rs.getString( "TITLE" ) );
    rs.close();
    statement.close();
    catch ( SQLException e )
    System.out.println( "JDBC error: " + e );
    finally
    con.close();
    catch( SQLException e )
    System.out.println( "could not get JDBC connection: " + e );
    catch( Exception e )
    System.out.println( "could not load JDBC driver: " + e );
    7. when I run the Java program (java Test), I got
    the message:
    could not load JDBC driver: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver
    What am I missing?

    Hi,
    I missed to specify test in my last post.
    Try running your program by explicitly setting the classspath when
    running your program . java -classpath c:\mysql-connector-java-3.1.0-alpha-bin.jar test
    Make sure your jar file contains org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver class

    it was working fine on a windows XP environment prepared for arabic language, but when i had to move to windows vista it did not workStrange. Maybe you need to compare the differences of some system properties on both hosts, for instance, sun.io.unicode.encoding, file.encoding, user.region, and so on.

  • Xa-problems when releasing jdbc connection

    We have a very strange problem with our WL setup.
    Weblogic 8.1.4 (2 cluster nodes)
    Oracle 9i stand alone db (although tested on RAC with 2 nodes)
    The application architecture is quite complicated, with several EJB-applications that communicate via JMS and RMI. Everything (except logging) runs under xa-transactions that span multiple applications. We use both xa (for everything but logging) and non-xa jdbc connection pools (Oracle thin driver).
    When we release a jdbc connection then the following node manager log entry is written:

    Are there any hints on this situation ?
    Regards
    Nikolaus Rumm

    Additional information:
    We use Hibernate as the persistence layer. The problem arises when the application detects a business problem and calls setRollbackOnly() on the session bean's ejb context, followed by a "throw ApplicationException" (extends java.lang.Exception).
    When we use unchecked exceptions for business exceptions (which violates the EJB spec) everything works fine.

  • ResultSet problem with a jdbc connection pool implementation

    Hi
    I'm trying to use jdbc connection pool in my java application (js2e 1.4.0_01)
    from the example at http://www.developer.com/tech/article.php/626141
    In my main() code, in addition to JDBCConnection, JDBCConnectionImpl and JDBCPool classes, i use
    JDBCConnection conn;
    conn = new JDBCConnection(dbName);
    // make a statement
    sqlString = "SELECT........."
    ResultSet rs = null;
    rs = conn.sendRequest(sqlString, rs);
    // print result
    while (rs.next()) {
    Unfortunately i get an error like "ResultSet is closed" in the line corresponding to rs.next. The error disappears if i remove the line
    stmt.close();
    in the method sendRequest of the JDBCConnectionImpl class.
    1) Does anybody knows the solution?
    2) How to close all connections?
    Thanks you in advance.

    Hi ,
    You are closing the statement and then trying to use resultset , which is not going to work .So close then statment after using resultset .Ideally the code should be like this
    try {
    conn = // get the connection
    pstmt = conn.prepareStatement(sql);
    rs = pstmt.executeQuery();
    while ( rs.next()){
    // do something
    catch (Exception ex) {
    finally {
    try {
    if (rs != null)
    rs.close();
    if (pstmt != null)
    pstmt.close();
    if(conn!=null )
    conn.close();

  • Jdbc connection leak problem in wls 8.1 sp1

    I have problem finding a jdbc connection leak and hope to get some tips from
    a som friendly person who has some experience about this.
    The application contains some 100 classes and CMP beans.
    All connections are fetched with datasource.getConnection and are realesed

    Except for the entity beans of course which has the transaction required

    Except for the entity beans of course which has the transaction required

    should be defining a connection as a method variable, obtaining it from
    a TxDataSource in a try block, used completely, and closed as the only/first
    thing in the finally block. We will handle the close() correctly, it won't
    hurt the tx if there is one, and it will do the right thing if there isn't one.
    How do you know there's a leak? Usually our leak-detection shows where the connection
    was made, so you can find out why it wasn't closed...

  • WLS 10.3 ClassCastException obtaining JDBC connection

    I have a problem obtaining a JDBC connection in a java client application, using a WLS Datasource.
    - I've configured a JDBC datasource in a WLS 10.3 instance, using the Oracle thin driver (not the XA version) - and have successfully targetted this to my server and tested the connection via the console.
    - When viewing the JNDI Tree for the server, the Datasource is visible as expected.
    However, when I attempt to use a simple client program to obtain a datasource and JDBC connection I get the following error :
    java.lang.ClassCastException : weblogic.jdbc.common.internal.ConnectionEnv cannot be cast to java.io.Serializable
    Debugging shows a datasource is obtained and that the ClassCastException is thrown when an attempt is made to get a connection from the datasource. Note this code has been used successfully for previous WLS versions to obtain and test a connection (WLS 8.1 - WLS 10) and follows the expected steps :
    Hashtable<String, String> ht = new Hashtable<String, String>();
    ht.put( Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory" );
    ht.put( Context.PROVIDER_URL, "t3://localhost:7001");
    javax.naming.Context ctx = new InitialContext( ht );
    ds = (javax.sql.DataSource) ctx.lookup( pDataSourceName );
    Connection con = ds.getConnection();
    The client app has the following Jars on the classpath :
    wlclient.jar
    jdk1.6.0_07 runtime jar
    The client code has been built using jdk1.6.0_07
    i) Can you confirm if any additional libraries are required on the classpath
    ii) Please indicate if there are any special steps required to obtain a JDBC connection in WLS 10.3
    Thanks for your help.

    In a Java client the HashTable properties are required to be set.
    Context ctx = null;
    Hashtable ht = new Hashtable();
    ht.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
    "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
    ht.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL,         "t3://localhost:7001");
    try {    ctx = new InitialContext(ht);
    // Use the context in your program  }
    catch (NamingException e) {    // a failure occurred  }
    finally {    try {ctx.close();}    catch (Exception e)
    {      // a failure occurred    }  }Edited by: dvohra16 on Dec 10, 2009 5:39 PM

  • Single jdbc connection opens multiple connections to sql server

    Hello!
    I'm having a bad problem, because one jdbc connection opens multiple connections to the sql server. I'm working with the open source jdbc driver jtds and the ms sql server. Because I'm using temporary tables that are only visible to one database connection, my code doesn't work. Is this a bug in jtds or is this the normal behaviour of a java.sql.Connection?
    Here a code example:
    Class.forName("net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver");
    conn = DriverManager.getConnection(
    "jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://"+dbConnDef.getServer()+"/"+dbConnDef.getDatabase(),
    dbConnDef.getUserName(),
    dbConnDef.getUserPasswd()
    Statement stmt = conn.createStatement();
    stmt.executeUpdate("SET DATEFORMAT YMD");
    stmt.close();
    stmt = conn.createStatement();
    stmt.executeUpdate("CREATE TABLE #tmp (FieldA INT NOT NULL)");
    stmt.close();
    stmt = conn.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT * FROM #tmp");
    stmt = conn.createStatement("SELECT FieldA AS sthElse FROM #tmp");
    ResultSet rs2 = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT * FROM #tmp");
    // the strange thing is, that this second query does NOT yet open a
    // new connection, but the next sql command does.
    stmt = conn.createStatement();
    stmt.executeUpdate("DROP TABLE #tmp");
    stmt.close();
    Why is it behaving that strange way? It is absolutely necessary, that EVERYTHING that I do with my connection is really done on the same connection to the SQL server! How can I force a java.sql.Connection not to open multiple sql-server-connections?
    It is very urgent, thus, PLEASE HELP!!!
    Thousand thanks in advance! Marco.

    ...but that means, that the jdbc driver I use, is not working properly, because it should work the following way (please correct me, if I misunderstood the concept):
    I create a Connection object which should represent exactly one physical connection to the database. Then I can create as many Statement instances by conn.createStatement() as I want. There should still exist only one physical connection.
    With each of my Statement objects, I can create one result set.
    This means, I should be able to create as many result sets as I want to with only one Connection object (and therefor one physical connection) by creating multiple Statements, right?!
    If this is correct, the concept is perfect for me and exactly as I'm used to it by other programming languages. Then, only my jdbc driver does not work properly which means I either have to replace it by another one or change it myself (it's open source).

    Apache Tomcat/4.1.24

    Hi scsi-boy, first of all, thank you so much for your
    prompt and fast response. So how do i tackle
    ClassNotFoundException ?.i'm sorry coz i'm a newbie to
    jsp. I hope by providing my configuration below could
    aid you in understanding my problem.
    I've place the setting config in /etc/profile with the
    following:
    JAVA_HOME=/usr/local/java
    CATALINA_HOME=/usr/local/tomcat
    ANT_HOME=/usr/local/ant
    APACHE_HOME=/usr/local/apache
    MYSQL_HOME=/usr/local/mysql
    CLASSPATH=${CATALINA_HOME}/common/lib/servlet-api.jar:$
    YSQL_HOME/connector/mysql_connector/mysql_connector-jav
    -3.08-stable-bin.jar:${JAVA_HOME}/lib/tools.jar:${JAVA_
    OME}/jre/lib/rt.jar:./
    PATH=${PATH}:${JAVA_HOME}/bin:${ANT_HOME}/bin:
    MANPATH=${JAVA_HOME}/man:${MANPATH}
    export JAVA_HOME ANT_HOME APACHE_HOME MYSQL_HOME
    CATALINA_HOME CLASSPATH PATH MANPATH
    As you can see, i've un-tar mysql_connector in
    /usr/local/mysql/connector directory and set my
    classpath to point to that file. Is that the proper
    way to do it?
    Regards,
    Joesorry not a JSP expert however just to clarify i am guessing that it is a ClassNotFoundException. it could be something else entirely and i don't really want to send you on a wild goose chase. we need to know what the root exception actually is.
    i am off to sleep now but i'm sure if you can give a little more information which may involve figuring out how to get it to cough up more information someone will help you here.

  • Load balancing to JDBC connection pool

    from http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61///////cluster/overview.html
    "WebLogic Server provides limited load balancing support for managing JDBC
    connections in a cluster. If you create an identical JDBC DataSource in each
    clustered WebLogic Server instance and configure those DataSources to use
    different connection pools, the cluster can support load balancing for JDBC
    connections. Note, however, that WebLogic Server provides no special load
    balancing policies for accessing connection pools. If one of your connection
    pools runs out of JDBC connections, the load balancing algorithm may still
    direct connection requests to the empty pool."
    How is this different from creating one connection pool with one datasource
    and targetting the cluster. Are they talking about load-balancing to
    different databases, or different servers in WLS. from a servlet or from a
    client side app?
    Can anyone elaborate?
    Thanks in advance.

    hi,
    without knowing the entire set of requirements or the motivation behind doing this, a few words from me
    this is usually done transparently to the applications server, that is having eg. Oracle instances mirroring eachother for extreme high-availability requirements.
    1. I would have taken the liberty of calling this business funcionality and let my middleware do the implementation of this. The most elegant solution would probably be to call the master DB for the CUD operation, then post a message to a queue letting the slave DB be updated asynchronously. If the message could not be sent, throw an exception and have the entire operation rolled back.
    If however this must happen realtime and transactions must be consistent, there are a few points to consider. And the quieing bit would not work.
    if this is something that should be done for all Create, Update and Delete operations, an intercepting JDBC driver could do the trick. Although there are all sorts of different problems that could arise from this, for starters, at least one of the DBMS involved here should be XA compliant. If the entire transaction should be XA compliant, both DBMS must be XA compliant. Next as for the transaction towards the "mirroring" DBMS you would have to do all the transaction stuff your self.
    For an example of an intercepting JDBC driver, I found thisone
    http://media.datadirect.com/download/docs/jdbc/jdbcref/spy.html
    I would guess that there are quite a few more.

  • Problem in loading images when i am connected on company network

    Hi friends, I am using firefox since last 4 months on my windows 8 pro laptop.but since last month I am facing problem in loading images when i am connected on company network but same time it is working fine with ie10. But all these thinks are working well at my home when I am using broadband.

    I don't completely understand your issue. Does this issue occur on 1 network and does not occur on another? Have you tried clearing cache and cookies and making sure your plugins are up to date?
    Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
    Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
    To clear cache and cookies do the following:
    #Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
    #Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
    #Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
    #From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
    #Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
    Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
    Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Please check if all your plugins are up-to-date. To do this, go to the [http://mozilla.com/plugincheck Mozilla Plugin Check site].
    Once you're there, the site will check if all your plugins have the latest versions.
    If you see plugins in the list that have a yellow ''Update'' button or a red ''Update now'' button, please update these immediately.
    To do so, please click each red or yellow button. Then you should see a site that allows you to download the latest version. Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation and follow the steps mentioned in the installation procedure.

  • Problem in jdbc connecting as sysdba

    Dear ORACians,
    i am using database 8.1.5 and jdbc 8.1.5 and jdk 1.5.
    my problem: i want to connect to the database as sysdba through jdbc.
    oracle is telling that to connect to the db as sysdba we have to use properties file. i did the same. It is connecting to the db as normal mode not as sysdba mode why???
    Actual code is:
    Properties conProp = new Properties();
              conProp.put("user", tf[2].getText());
              conProp.put("password", String.valueOf(cpwd.getPassword()));
              conProp.put("internal_logon", "SYSDBA");
    try{
                   DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
                   String conUrl ="jdbc:oracle:thin:@"+tf[0].getText()+":"+tf[1].getText()+":"+tf[3].getText();
                   conn=DriverManager.getConnection(conUrl,conProp);
                   stat=conn.createStatement();
                   JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(f,"Connection Estblished...");
                   jdcn.dispose();
              }catch(Exception w){
                   JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(f,String.valueOf(w));
    i hope ORACians will guide me to develop my apps in proper direction.

    Thanks for ur reply but when i add "as sydba" with password property it gives error:
    Properties conProp = new Properties();
    conProp.put("user", tf[2].getText());
    conProp.put("password", String.valueOf(cpwd.getPassword())+"AS SYSDBA");
    the error is :
