Problem in activating datasource Invalid datatype LCHR

Hi,
i have created a zextractor (generic) from View in rso2.I have taken a field URL_ADDR in datasource of type LCHR which is coming from table ADR12.But when i m replicating it in dev system(RSA1) its giving me an error as" Field URI_ADDR ( Position 7 ): invalid data type LCHR.
Plz guide.

Ya, I got that info basically am an ABAPer... i need to solve this issue. in table its length is 2k+ of type LCHAR. Does any one know how can i take the URL from table[am sure in actual, data won't be of length 2k+] and push in to my Info object of length 60 or... do you people know any other workaround.

I am getting very strange problem on BI 7.4. Whenever I try to activate datasource, I get the debugger launched up in a separate window. I have to manually Step Over the code (F6) each time for about 2-3 minutes. Then on the original window, I get message that Datasource is activated.
However the second debug window is still open with an hourglass. I have to manually STOP TRANSACTION and close that window.
If I dont Step Over the code then my datasource does not get activated so I have to do this step.
What could be causing this frustrating problem. Is there a way to disable this debugger..

still my problem not resolved. Not only data source even if I tried to activate transformation, DTP which installed from BI content & custom DTP also getting same problem.
This is not upgraded one, as freshly installed BW 7.4 and couple of hours before only established RFC connection b/w ECC & BW dev systems.
As per this version all BI content components were installed by basis team.

Problem in activating datasource after replication from source system

Hello,
You do not mention your source system release but can you execute the check report
described in the SAP note 493422 , if this does not resolve the problem can you goto
RSA1, right click on the relevant "source system" and choose the "restore" option,
then please try and replicate and activate the datasource again.
If you have BW release 7.0 please check that the note 929751is applied in your system
or that you are on a higher support package level.
If there is still a problem please le me know your BW Release and Support package level.

Problem with activating datasource in BI7

i am using BI7 and ECC6. iwas generating data source using genrice view.....
when i replicate in BI i find the data source but i find it activation icon disabled.
how can i activate the data source please guide

Hi Satish,
If it is standard DS, you should be able to find it in RSA5. If it is a Generic Datasource, goto RSA6 trans in source system. Click the cursor on main node. Then Click on Expand(Top left button)> Now search for your DS. Once u find it, select change DS> Activate DS.
Then in BW system as you are alreday able to see the DS> Right click> Replicate Metadata--> goto Change mode --> Activate. Then you will have to activate your transformations as well.

hai when i tried to activate business content in rsa5 with package and request number it is displaying as changes to repository or cross client customizing are not permitted and when i went for help it is displaying as invalid call sequence for interfaces when recording changes,can you please tell how to rectify this.

I ran into an installation problem with the Oracle BPEL PM server. Though the installation completed successfully during startup of the server the following error occurs (part of log, complete log follows):

On another WinXP-System everything is fine.
I already had a default Oracle Lite Installation on my machine through Mobile Development Kit when installing BPEL PM Server. So I think there is a conflict between the two OLite DB... (Unfortunately I really need the first installation of OLite).
When I tried to reach the bpel-OLite DB through msql everything is fine. I can address the orapbel schema either with the ODBC-DSN syntax or the syntax which uses the olsv2040 adaptor service.
I checked ODBC.ini, ODBCinst.ini and polite.ini - they are configured as mentioned in another forum thread.
The classpath seems to be correct as shown by the log (following). The class javax/activation/DataSource is in orapbel.jar - this archive is in the classpath. Perhaps the signature of the executed method doesn't fit with two concurrent olite DB on the system...
Does somebody has an idea what's wrong with my configuration?

I'll try to switch to 9i/10g.
In migrating perhaps also I will use the Designer as standalone tool on the client and connecting to iAS on another machine where I could integrate the BPEL Engine.
That means integrating BPEL in our architecture.

You can not use local collection types in SQL. You must create type bin_array as SQL nested table type. Also, depending on version you might not need to cast:

Inconsistency while activating Datasource

Hi Experts,
I have a problem when activating my datasource in Sandbox system.
Error message says .
Inconsistent user object 3FI_GL_I1_TT AGS100 for PSA /BIC/B0001259
error while saving DS.
I am not able to understand if the data source is not active how does the PSA table formation has happend.
when I tried to activate the PSA table too it says there are no fields in the table.
Can I delete my DS now in BGS system and import the same DS from my Dev system and all related transformations available in Dev system and load the data.Please advise would this work or would give some inconsistency.
Please advise I am not able to any clue how would I proceed.

Thanks for the reply but I have done that.even though the DS is in edited version and in executable.that is when I am trying to manage the DS it says Invalid DS object name /BIC/B0001xxxxx: reason: no valid entry in table RSTS.
Actually I am trying to do Inti for my DS in Sand box system , we had a copy recently from our QA BW to Sand box BW as we same copy in ECC for the same servers.
So when I am trying to do init I had a error saying No Transfer structure is avaialable for Infosource 3FI_GL_I1_TT in the Source system. and procedure it says regenerate from this Source system the transfer structure for Infosource 3FI_GL_I1_TT.
now in order to solve this I have imported my DS from my Dev system to Sand box. hence my Data source got inactive and says in executbale.
Can you please advise.

Problem in activating 0sd_c03 IC

Hi all
Here i am facing problem in activating BC IC 0sd_c03 .I have installed the IC with data flow before and when i migrate from 3.5 to 7 . here for the datasource 2lis_13_vditm , the transfer rules are migrated successfully but here i am getting problem when i create transformation on update rule . The problem is with the routine net weight kg,gross weight kg and with the volume . here that infoobject has some routine in update rule and when i created the transformation , in that transformation there is no routine for that infoobject and also there is no mapping present for that infoobject . plz help me in solving this.

Hi Ravi,
If you any start routine written on your Update rules or transformations, then when you open that one you will have Display start routine.
If you don't have any routines, then you will have create start routine which implies it doesn't contain any start routine.If you want you can create start routine by click on create start routine.
Creating routines is purely based on business requirement.
when we go for creating routines:
1)If you want to populate some new filed in target based on 2 or 3 fields from source.
2)If you want to delete some records based on certain condition
there are few more scenarios

If it is enough of one to one mapping for you business, then no need to use any routines just do one to one mapping in transformation

OEHR Sample Objects Installation - ORA-00902: invalid datatype

When I was trying to install the supporting objects, I received a CREATE TYPE privilege error previously. Then the DBA updated APEX to 2.2.1 to fix the problem. It did but know I'm gettingn ORA-00901:invalid datatype and othere errors with creating the tables, views,etc. Can somebody help me. I'm running APEX with database version 9.2

Can somebody help me? I can not install the database objects. I get an invalid datatype error when the install script attempts to install the tables.
Please help!

Error when activating datasource

Hello,
I am trying to create a new transaction data datasource assigned to a flat file source system. When i hit the check i get no errors but when i try to activate the activation fails with errors. The error Message No. RSO404 says "Error when activating Datasource". We are on BW 7.0 stack 12.
Has anyone seen this? It is hard to troubleshoot it when i get no real errors to go on. It is a very simple three field datasource with one characteristic, one key fig, and an additional currency characteristic. The key fig is in external format and references 0CURRENCY. Does anybody have any insight?

SAP Message No-KL 294 Network Activity with invalid Internal Number

Hi,
I am getting System Error:NETWORK ACTIVITY WITH INVALID INTERNAL NUMBER" while doing MIGO.
I have checked network activity assigned to PO is exist but this shows some internal Number "Plan no.f.oper." which does not exist.
Please let me know how should i solve this error.

Did you get any response from SAP?
I have as similar or maybe the same problem.
And I found out:
When I create the purchase request out of the Project-Builder (CJ20n) - SAP seems to lose the entry of the field 'AUFPL' in the table 'EBKN'.
In these rare cases (this problem is only in about 2-3 % of our purchase requests) the network elements still exist - so they are not deleted or something like that.
I created a routine, in which I read the entry of 'AUFPL' with the corresponding network number out of table 'EBKN' as key, to correct these wrong purchase requests.
But I didn't find the reason for the problem, yet.
Every advice would be great,.

I am new to Oracle.... using document "40261_leveragingtools.pdf" as a guide against a cube created using "Global_AWM10g_Handson.doc".
AWM displays data from cube without a problem.
