Problem in Building CAF project

Hi All,
I have imported an external service and wrapped it in an entity service. Whilie buiding th project i am getting the following error:
"The project was not built since its classpath is incomplete. cannot find the class file for com.sap.caf.core.data.values.api.IMessageValue. Fix the classpath and then try rebuilding the project"
Thanks in Advance
Ashutosh Rastogi

That's strange. Try the following:
1. Build your CAF project. After that go to "General Output View", click on error compilation entry and determine the class name which has reference to the "com.sap.caf.core.data.values.api.IMessageValue" class. After that open this class from java Navigator view. Check that class name is MPConnector. Be sure that "com.sap.caf.core.data.values.api.IMessageValue" token is really exists in this class source code, but not "com.sap.caf.mp.core.data.values.api.IMessageValue".
2. If you use default settings for location of your local development configuration (the path is following: "C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\.dtc\LocalDevelopment\DCs" ) I recommend you to change this path to "c:\dtc" for example. You need to change workspace to new one and change the dev configuration location.
To change workspace go to : Window -> preferences -> Workbench -> Workspace
To change dev config location: Window -> preferences -> Java Development Infrastructure -> Development Configuration
After that try to create new CAF project and check the compilation.
Best regards,
Aliaksei

  • Problem while creating CAF project in NWDS workspace

    Hi Experts,
We are facing a problem while creating CAF project in NWDS workspace. Even though we have tried in new workspace we are facing the issue. Find the below build error.
We are not getting any error when we build from CBS.
[javac] ERROR: C:\sap\test_VC_DC.jdi\0\DCs\test.com\ja\bl\journal\ejbmodule\_comp\src\com\test\ja\bl\journal\modeled\ModifyJournalLineItemRequestMessage.java:7: cannot find symbol
[javac] ERROR: symbol  : class JournalLineItemDetail1
    [javac] ERROR: location: package com.test.ja.cm.util.modeled
    [javac] ERROR: import com.test.ja.cm.util.modeled.JournalLineItemDetail1;
when we expand com.test.ja.cm.util.modeled there is no file with name JournalLineItemDetail1 and the actual file exists is JournalLineItemDetail but we are not able to understand why 1 is appending to the file JournalLineItemDetail. Can somebody throw some light on this?

  • Problem in build netbean projects with jaxb

Hi, I encounter the problem which I dont' know if it is due to my pc memory insufficient or other reason.
In my netbean projects, I add a Jaxb binding with a local xsd file, but when I try to clean and build the project, each time I have to wait for around 25 minutes, i think it is not make sense to build in such a time. As if I want to debug/run the project each time, it is impossible for me to wait like this.
However, I have to use the xml file in that way, if I can't solve this problem, i have to write / use other method to "eat" the xml file for myself.
Any suggestion or help is appreciated, thx.....

    Bishnu,
    Thanx for the response.
My problem is whenever i do a little modification in the code, even if i just do some chanes & undo it then also i need to rebuild the application.
There is a single project in my workshop which is pretty huge.As per your reply i am getting only two parts to check & uncheck i.e. If the project is "A" then i am getting A.work & project:A in the build box.
The most important question: Do i need to shut down the server each time i make a small change?Even i have tried this by restarting the server, but every time i get the message that "the Controller.jpf could not compile."
    Any idea is most welcome.

  • Problem when creating CAF Entity Service finder Methods

    Guys,
Can any one please suggest me appropriatly to the below problem.
I am using NWDS 7.06. I have no problem when creating CAF project, Application Service and Entity Service even.
    But in the Entity Service:
    1. Add a string or longtext attribute.
    2. try to create a custom finder method in operations tab, during that operation i am  not finding the attribute which i have created in step1.
That means i am not able to create the my own finder methods with parameters.
I was able to do that in some version long ago but i have forgotten that NWDS version.
summary of Problem Is: " Cannot create custom methods with custom parameters in Entity Service"
Can you please suggest me the right version or a solution to this problem on urgent basis please.
I promise you that i will give you full points to you who ever gives me the right solution.
Please mail your suggestions to [email protected]

    Guys,
I have solved the problem successfully. Thanks for your attention.

    Hello,
There is a bug in the IDE that causes code generation and compile errors when the directory structure for the source code is too deep.  Try changing your Development Configuration root folder to something like "c:\.dtc" and then create a new project and build.  Window->preferences->Java Development Infrastructure-> Development Configuration Pool.  Now all new projects should be stored in this new directory.
If this does not work, you can also try moving your default workspace to "c:\ws".  Windows->preferences->workbench->workspace.  You must restart your IDE after you do this.
    Regrards,
    Austin.

  • XMl parser version problem for running struts project in jdeveloper 10.1.3

    Dear All.
I am trying to run a struts (v 1.2.9) based project in Jdeveloper 10.1.3.1.0.The struts version in Jdeveloper is 1.1.
when i am trying to run the index.jsp i get an error:
    org.xml.sax.SAXNotRecognizedException: http://apache.org/xml/features/validation/dynamic
I think the XML parser version is a problem.Jdeveloper has OracleXMLParser v2 and i think the XML Parser apis used in building the project is different.I have placedcustiom xml parser apis and the xerces.jar in the jdevbin/jdev/lib folder and included these jar in the bootclasspath as follows:
    AddVMOption -Xbootclasspath/p:../lib/xml-apis.jar
    AddVMOption -Xbootclasspath/p:../lib/xerces-2.6.2.jar
But even then the Exception persists. Is the syntax for Xbootclasspath wrong or i need to place these custom api's in some other location of jdev.
I am not being able to figure out the XMl parser problem.
    Any help wud be great.
Is it that i cant run the project in jdeveloper.Just to mention the application is deployed in OC4J on the server and runs fine..But its only that i kant run it locally through jdeveloper

I am also facing the same issue on my laptop. I searched for forum but no luck.
appreciate if anybody can throw some light on this.

  • Unable to build EJB project.

    Hi All,
I am new to CE and trying to crete an EJB project. I am following the below tutorial.
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/b030e7fb-2662-2b10-0dab-c4aa52c3550b?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
I have configured the data source, created the EJB module, created the Entity Bean & session bean. While trying to build the project, I am getting an error "Unable to provide dictionary objects. Please check if the connected project is sttll valid."
Please help me resolving the issue.
    Regards,
    Bhavya.

    Hi Divya,
Follow the above steps in the following link how to use external library in DC's
    /people/bertram.ganz/blog/2008/11/24/how-to-use-external-jar-files-in-web-dynpro-development-components
1)Expose the JAR file in two separate public parts, one with purpose assembly (1) and another one with purpose compilation (2).
2)Use the public part with purpose compilation in the Web Dynpro "client" development component
Let me know if you are still facing the problem.
    Hope this helps you...

  • How to import external jars in a CAF project?

    Hello Experts!
Could you help me find out the way to import external jars in a CAF project. I have tried to import the jars
in ejbmodule using "java build path--->libraries". But while trying to build the project it's displaying error and all the imported jars automatically get removed from the list.
I have read that creation DC of type "External Library" can help me.
    1) Create a DC of type external library
    2) Copy my jars to folder "libraries"
What should I do next? And how can I import my DC of type "External Library" to my CAF project?
    Looking forward for your suggestion.
    Thanks & Regards
    Vitaly

    Hi,
This article will guide you how to deploy the external jar files to the application server.
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/60a0f850-c451-2c10-a6a6-ddcabfa3a65b&overridelayout=true
Add the library project to the public part of your caf project to use the jar files.

  • Error in CAF Project Deployment

    Hi All,
I have created a simple CAF project named as "firstcaf" in NWDS of NetWeaver CE. But at the deployment time I am getting an error like bellow
May 30, 2007 7:11:43 PM /userOut/daView_category (eclipse.UserOutLocation) [Thread[Deploy Thread,5,main]] ERROR: Deploy Exception. An unresolved dependencies error occurred while sorting the deployment batch items regarding the dependencies.; nested exception is:

    Unresolved dependency:
name: 'cafcoreear', vendor: 'sap.com'     ( The component sap.com_cafcoreear doesn't exist in the deployment batch and is not deployed.)
Could anybody send me any idea how to resolve this problem?
Another one question regarding WebDynpro. In CE when I am creating a Web Dynpro project I am getting a "web.xml" file under Resources -> WEB-INF. Can anybody tell me why this file is required and what purpose this file will be used?
    Thanks and regards

    Hi,
the answer of the first question is simple - the CAF runtime is not included in the NW CE trial download. Therefore, you can't deploy any CAF projects..
The trial download version includes only the Java EE 5 compatible server, Web Dynpro, and Data Dictionary... No additional tools and technologies such as CAF, Visual Composer, GP and so on are supported in the trial.
The latter however, are available in the official product SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment, which is currently available for productive use through the official SAP ramp-up process.
As to the second question (web dynpro generates web.xml) - the reason for this is that the web dynpro container runs as extension of the standard web container of the server, which runs web components packaged as WAR files. Therefore, it's just a matter of unifying the packaging and deployment artifacts. From web dynpro application developer's perspective, it's all transparent - you are not expected to do any changes to this xml file.
    Hope that helps!

  • Howto Export and Import CAF project

    Hi,
Is there a way to export and import my CAF projects to more than one installations of NWDS? I've tried different ways but the main problem is that I can't see the "imported" projects in the Composite Application Explorer of the CAF perspective in NWDS.
The only way I've managed to do this is to create a new CAF project with the same name as the one I want to import and copy all files into the newly created structure but surely there must be an easier way to do this, or??
    Best regards,
    Mikael

    Does this solution still apply?
I want to export a CAF project from NWDS 7.10 and import it into NWDS 7.20.
If there are any breaking API-changes, this is no problem as I can fix it later.
However I need to transport all BO and Service-Definitions and the (possibly outdated/deprecated) code.
I cant get it working with your linked document.
    Any hint appreciated. Thanks alot!

  • Problems with a xcode project

    Hi there,
I'm trying to compile an existing Xcode project which has used boost library and threadpool library. I have already added the correct header path and library path, and the boost has been successfully compiled(cause the code uses libboost_thread.a).
    Here's my header search path:
    /usr/local/installation/prefix/include(boost header after installed)
    /usr/local/boost1_450
    /Users/niexiao2008/threadpool-025-src/threadpool/boost
And the library search path is:
    /usr/local/installation/prefix/lib
I'm sure the boost library has been installed correctly and passed through some test codes, but there's still some problems when buliding the project:
i686-apple-darwin10-gcc-4.2.1: error trying to exec '/Developer/usr/bin/../libexec/gcc/i686-apple-darwin10/4.2.1/cc1plus': execv: Argument list too long
Command /Developer/usr/bin/gcc-4.2 failed with exit code 1
    Could someone please help?

In the Build results window select the compile line that is failing. This should reveal a 'details' icon on the line to the right. Click the icon to display the actual compile command and try to determine why the argument list is too long.

  • "Stream not Initialized" message when trying to build Encore project.

I have been using Adobe Encore CS6 for a while now, using three video camera models.
9 times out of 10 I have no problems making my DVDs, yet every so often, the video clips will have audio and video of different lengths.
Whenever this happens, if I try to build the project, I get an error message pop up stating "Stream not initialized".
I can adjust the clips so that the audio and video are the same length, thus eliminating the tiny, often two frame gap in the timeline, but this only fixes the problem some times.
Today it isn't fixing the problem at all.
I've tried transcoding the clips, even though they are in DVD format directly from the camera, yet still get the same error message.
Any help with this issue would be a god send as it is starting to drive me potty!
    Thanks.

    Giorgio,
Thanks for the taking the time to respond. Nothing suggested works.
You suggested: build an image of your author or build the DVD in your HD?
I tried both and still get "Program Quits" window, with Encore shutting down without any error message.
    You suggested:  disk problem.
I tried different Sony, and then Verbatim disks. Same problem.
    Additional Project Info:
    Time Line: 1:18:07
    Preferences: Playback Quality: Automatic.
Disc Info: free space thermometer: Blue all the way across.
4.7 GB Used.  3.309 MB free.
Same problem also exists with Premier Pro CS4. PPr will just quit for no reason that is detectable/No error message. I do frequent saves so have not lost anything in PPr, just have to restart program. The problem with PPr is not consistant, whereas with Encore it happens every time when attempting to "Build". I suspect fault is within Encore/PPr  and Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit and latest updates from Microsoft. Both programs ran without problems before. By the way. I tried to update PPr & Encore, and I could not, as I have latest versions.
By the way....You are writing from Italy? Where? My grandparents came to New York from Italy around 1907.
    Thanks for your effort,
    Tony Salso

  • Annoying Problem when building under Eclipse

    Hi all,
Please, does any one faced this problem with Eclipse (2.1.x) using JCOP :
some times when I try to build the project, using menu Project->Rebuild Project, I get an error in the Task view saying : "The project was not built due to "Problems encountered while deleting resources.". Fix the problem, then try refreshing this project and rebuilding it since it may be inconsistent.     ".
Often it's solved if I make a "Rebuild all" but sometimes it fails and I still get the error.
I can get rid of it, but almose by trying and trying again, and I want to know how to be able to build my project without this problem.
    Thanx

You can fous to left side "Package Explorer" sub-window for your project, and press "F5" to refresh,
after that retry to build project again.
