Problem in CSV Data Upload

Hello Experts,
I need to upload the following data from a CSV file.
2.087
2.433
2.567
In my DataSource Management screen, on the Preview Tab I see the following. I see these similar results in the DSO and InfoCube.
2,0870000000000000E+03
2,4330000000000000E+03
2,5670000000000000E+03
In my Bex Report I see the following results...
2.087 ERR
2.433 ERR
2.567 ERR
How do I solve this issue? I have defined this field as Floating Point. The length: 16, Decimal position: 16 and external length: 24 appeared as described.

Hi SD,
As you have given the key fig length 16, it will show the same in ODS and Cube.
But in front end you can change that.Go to the key fig property -->decimal should be 2 and scaling factor 1.
If you have problem bcos of ERR that is bcos you have not maintained Currency,Create a Cal Key fig--> use NODIM(Original key fig).Hide the orig kf

CSV Data Upload by different users

I have several different customers (ie users in groups) that need to do CSV Data Upload to the same table. I have done the data loading pages in APEX 4.1 by using the wizard and data upload works fine. Now, how could I know afterwards which uploaded rows belongs to which user group ?
Would I be able to have an extra column that is automaticly populated during the upload. Could a table trigger work by entering some sys_context value to an extra column on the upload table. Or is there another way ?

Hi,
You can have extra column in table e.g. CREATED_BY and in before insert trigger use
:NEW.CREATED_BY := NVL(v('APP_USER'), USER);That will insert current APEX user name to that column, or database user if someone insert data directly to table.

HI Everyone,
We are managing a JSP based application in which we uploads data using HTTP Protocol. Daily data uploads are in GB's. the problems that we are facing are:-
Memory Heap size.
Request timeout errors of our web server.
No Resume support in case of network error.
Now we want to upgrade our application to get following benefits:-
Get rid of above mention problems.
Reduce data upload time.
Resume support in case of network errors.
I have following questions in this regard:-
What should be the Data upload protocol ? HTTP OR FTP.
What should be the Application interface for data uploading module ? like Java Applet, JSP OR Java Desktop application etc .
To resolve Memory Heap size errors we are using cronjob to restart web server, is it OK ? OR there is some other batter solutions for this.
Your value able advice is required to make correct decision.

There is no best. What CAN you use? If FTP is an option (and make it SFTP) then of course go for that, then you don't have to be bothered by the clunky HTTP file upload.

How about a proper existing SFTP client? There is absolutely no reason at all why that should be anything Java related.

How about finding and solving the source of your memory leaks?

Problems with special characters uploading data into oracle database

Greetings
I have a problem uploading data into oracle tables from sybase datasource. The data that I want to upload is in Spanish, for example when I have a varchar field with the data 'Consultoría', in oracle table the data upload with interrogation symbols.
I have my source and target datastores configured as follows.

Chack section 10 Locales and Multi-byte Functionality in the SAP Data Services Reference Guide for an exhaustive description of NLS settings.
As a summary, following settings are required:
locales in the datastore definitions match the actual locale used in the associated databases
the locale of the DS engine allows for source to target translation
the character set in the target database supports storage of accented characters

Data upload problem in delta update from 1st ODS to 2nd ODS

Dear Friends,
I am loading data from one ODS to another. The update mode was full upload. Sometime back an error occurred in activation of the first ODS. The error was: Full updates already available in ODS ,Cannot update init./delta. So currently daily records are pulled but not added i.e. transferred recs = 4000 but added recs = 0.
When I looked for a solution in SDN I found that using program RSSM_SET_REPAIR_FULL_FLAG for 2nd ODS will reset all full uploads to Repair Full Request which I have already done for 2nd ODS. Then initialize once and pull delta.
But problem is that I cannot set update mode to delta as I am pulling some 80,000 records in 2nd ODS from 1st ODS with around 14 lacs records daily based on some data-selection filters in infopkg. But do not see any parameters for data-selction in delta mode.
Please suggest.

Dear Sirs,
Due to this error in activation in 2nd ODS daily data upload is failing in 1st ODS.
To correct this I converted all full upload requests in 2nd ODS to Repair full requests.
But now when I scheduled the infopkg today with full upload again data was transferred but not added.
I know I cannot have init./ delta so what possibly can now be done in this scenario. Please help.

Problem in Data Upload

Hai Guys,
I am facing one problem when i am uploading data.
Now only we have created R3 production source system.
In the R3 system datasource having data.
But when i am uploading the data in BW system, it is giving only 0 records.
Any settings is missing?
One more thing, in IDES machine it is working fine.
Please give some inputs.

This a question for all the people watching this thread. Looking at the problem Vivek is having, Do you guys think, that Initializing data on R/3 side could be a problem. I mean Filling up set up tables before the data load. Well I am not sure what table does RSA3 Checker hits because he can see data there. So just wondering whether Vivek has to re-Initialize the set up table and start again?...
Vivek I am novice to BW too, just trying to help you, dont mind if my inputs are not valuable. Hope I am not misleading you.

Hi Zagory,
I think at the time of this particular job starting there are other jobs running with Background User Owner or there might be other background jobs running with Priority A . SO try to reschedule the JOb at some later point in time where system is less busy ......or one more option is to try to increase the System Dialog run Time in RZ10 transaction ...Ask ur basis team they will do for you ...
But try first option first......

Filling Mailpackage to send CSV Data - crlf Problem (SP14)

I am using the mail receiver adapter with Mailpackage on SP14 and therefore I want to fill the <content>-Tag. My problem is, I have to fill several lines (CSV-Data) in <content> and don't know, how to build the carriage return linefeed's within my XSLT-Mapping. I tried it with
<xsl:text>
</xsl:text> within the node, but the mail adapter came up with a unprintable sign.
Somebody outthere who solved that problem?

If you search this forum using the words "carriage return" you will find numerous hits on this. I had to add a carraige return line feed to a file that I was ftp'ing to a customer. On this forum I found the help using a simple XSLT mapping. Here is the code.

Unable to load CSV data using APEX Data Load using Firefox/Safari on a MAC

I have APEX installed on a Windows XP machine connected to an 11g database on the same Windows XP machine.
While on the windows XP, using IE 7, I am able to successfully load a CSV spreadsheet of data using the APEX Data Load utility.
However, if I switch to my MacBook Pro running OS X leopard, then login into same APEX machine using Firefox 2 or 3 or Safari 3, then try to upload CSV data, it fails on the "Table Properties" step when it asks you for the name of the new table and then asks you to set table properties, the table properties just never appear (they do appear in IE 7 on Windows XP) and if you try to hit the NEXT button, you get error message: "1 error has occurred. At least one column must be specified to include in new table." and of course, you can't specify the any of the columns because there is nothing under SET TABLE PROPERTIES in the interface.
I also tried to load data with Firefox 2, Firefox 3 (beta), and Safari 3.1, but get same failed result on all three. If I return to the Windows XP machine and use IE 7.0, Data Load works just fine. I work in an ALL MAC environment, it was difficult to get a windows machine into my workplace, and all my end users will be using MACs. There is no current version of IE for the MAC, so I have to use Firefox or Safari.
Is there some option in Firefox or Safari that I can turn on so this Data Load feature will work on the MAC?

I managed to get this to work by saving the CSV file as Windows CSV (not DOS CSV), which allowed the CSV data to be read by Oracle running on Windows XP. I think the problem had to do with different character sets being used for CSV on MAC versus CSV on Windows. Maybe if I had created my windows XP Oracle database with Unicode as the default character set, I never would have experienced this problem.

Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "CL_RSAR_PSA===================CP" had to be
terminated because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
What can you do?
Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.
To process the problem further, contact you SAP system
administrator.
Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
at and manage termination messages, and you can also
keep them for a long time.
Error analysis
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_RANGE_OUT_OF_BOUNDS', was not
caught in
procedure "_GET_DDIC_STRUCTURE" "(METHOD)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING
clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
In the executed program "CL_RSAR_PSA===================CP", the system
attempted to access the field
"ME->P_PSA_TECHNAME" using the length "-3".
However, a partial field access with a negative length specification is
not allowed.
How to correct the error
Use a positive length specification if a part of the field "ME->P_PSA_TECHNAME"
is to be
accessed.
If the error occurred in your own ABAP program or in an SAP
program you modified, try to remove the error.
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
keywords:

2. Corresponding system log
Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes

3. If the problem occurs in a problem of your own or a modified SAP
program: The source code of the program
In the editor, choose "Utilities->More
Utilities->Upload/Download->Download".

Master data upload to DSO

We have a legacy system to maintain and face a problem.
The system have two DSO,one(DSO_04) is store the transaction data(Navigation atrribute link to master
data),Due to to accelerate the report on DSO,we build other DSO that is store the transaction data
from DSO_04->DSO_06 and change the DSO_04 navigation atrribute to DSO_06 data fields.
Problem: When user modify the master data and upload to BW,the DSO_06 isn't show the modify
report,beacause the "change the navigation atrribute to data fields in DSO_06 ".One way to solve this
problem is reload data from DSO_04->DSO_06 , but user would updata the master data frequently ,so
it isn't a good method.

Hi,
While loading the data into first DSO maintain one more field called Update Date( as current date). Do full load from DSO1 to DSO2 using DTP filter on Modified date.
In DTP filter write a small code to filter data for current date as follows :
l_t_range-sign = 'I'.
l_t_range-option = 'EQ'.
l_t_range-low = sy-datum.
l_t_range-fieldname = '/BIC/YNV_CH014'. " Updation date
APPEND l_t_range.
p_subrc = 0.

Basic Data Upload to MATERIAL Using LSMW is not working

Looking at the original thread, you are connecting to the text file via the DAO database engine:
"I added the text file as follow, new connection -> Access/Excell (DAO) -> select the file and the database type as text"
Thus I would use the same code for changing the text file as for changing an Access database. How can I convert a space from ABAP to CSV data?

Hello guys,
how can I convert a string like
"This is a%test%"
to
"This is a test "
into CSV data?
I try to with   REPLACE ALL OCCURRENCES OF '%' IN string_above WITH space,
but I got the string without space, like
"This is atest"
I read some posts that CSV will ignore space.
But which kind of symbol in CSV represents space?

In the above code u can use make inputtab like tp_data and get the result as requires in an internal table as space seperated fields.
In place of space u can also use any other symbol.
