Problem in increasing the size of the fields in predifined forms.

Hello All,
                  I am facing aproblem while increasing the size of a field in predefined forms.I want to increase the size of remark field from 254 character to like 400 characters in A/R Invoice form of sales A/R module.
                                I tried to update the related field (OINV- Comments) directly from sqlserver but its not reflecting in sSAP form and still remark field is taking 254 characters only.
                    Please help to how to Increase the size of the fields in predifined forms.
Please reply ASAP, its very urgent.

First of all you loose support as soon as you modify any table directly from SQL Server. You should NOT change any fields since this may affect how SBO works. Just by resizing a field doesn't mean that it will get resize in the form since you still have the programming part of it.
If you have new functionality or changes of that type I would suggest to post a message to support on the partner portal and/or post a comment in the SAP B1 forum here at SDN on the forum that handles new functionalities request.

Problem to modify the field "location" in an AP on WCS

Hello everybody,
I have a problem to modify the field "location" in an access point on WCS.
In fact, when i try to modify this field and then apply the modification, i have this error message :
"Error(s): You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:
Error:Global Username and Password are not configured on the associated controller. Please configure username and password on the associated controller before disabling 'Override Global Username Password'."
I made the modification on Chrome and Firefox but I always have the error message.
Nevertheless, i don't have this error message with other access points and other access points are configured without the option "Override Global Username Password".
I'm obliged to make the modification directly in the controller and not in WCS.
The problem is that i want to make the modification directly in WCS.
Could you help me please ?

When i make the modification directly in WCS, i have no problem, it syncs good.
The version of WCS is 7.0.230.0.
The version of the controller is 7.0.240.0 and the field recovery image version is 7.0.112.21.

Using MS Access Web App, can you set the tab order of the fields on a form?

Using MS Access Web App, can you set the tab order of the fields on a form? Doesn't appear to be a property. I don't see a programmatic method. I saw someone suggest using goto control on the after update event trigger but what if the person
doesn't edit the field? No event would be fired.

I am afraid you could not. In Web applications, the tab order is set automatically and cannot be changed.

The goto method is a workaround, but it should be triggered by a specific event. What I can figure out is changing the order of the fields.

How to increase the field size in modules

Dear Oracle Team,
When we add some items in reason codes from the dictionary, it has certain limit in reason code and title. So I can increase those field size to add bigger text for title names.
I think it also applicable for the fields in other modules also. Looking your valuable support.

1. Once you add a custom field to your database, it would be made available to either your reports (BI) or your layouts in PCM.
2. When you create the custom field, you would specify the field length/type/properties. (i.e. "Char" field with 120 char field length) If you set this to one value when you create (say 120 char) and want to CHANGE it to 140 characters, you cannot do this without deleting and re-creating the custom field. I did check 14.0.3 and this continues in this version as well.
2a. Best practice is to be generous in your field sizes to avoid needing to change it later.
As I mentioned before, any default fields in the database are fixed to their set properties and the only way to change them is to submit an SR to Oracle to request the change.

How to increase the field lenght of file uplaod in BSP application

   I am facing a problem with u201Cuploadu201D filed length in BSP application.
When we upload the file in BSP page, the path displayed should be the full path (i.e. from where the file is being upload the file)
Now this field is appearing 20 char length
Now I want to increase the length of the upload field (Input field) to be 100 char so that the path is visible.
In the current application the file upload is being done through a structure (attributes)
In this structure the fields are like this

This cl_htmlb_fileupload is named as class interface.
Which has the CLG_HTMLB_FILEUPLOAD (it is a class) it is defined in attributes.
In this class it has the attribute u201CSIZEu201D by default string 20.
Now I need to change this attribute length from 20 to 100
For this I copied the standard class CL_HTMLB_FILEUPLOAD into ZCL_HTMLB_FILEUPLOAD.
This ZCL_HTMLB_FILEUPLOAD contains all attributes of the standard class CL_HTMLB_FILEUPLOAD
Including the one class (CLG_HTMLB_FILEUPLOAD), this is defined as an attribute (ABOVE MENTIONED?)
This class is appearing in non editable mode, so   I have copied this class into zclass (ZCLG_HTMLB_FILEUPLOAD).but still I am not able to edit the attribute called u201Csizeu201D
And also I am not bale to add the zclass in place of the ZCLG_HTMLB_FILEUPLOAD
Kindly tell me how to modify the length of the field u201Csize u201Cand also how to add the zclass in the attributes of one class (syntax)

Hi,
Class CLG_HTMLB_FILEUPLOAD is a class automatically generated when a BSP Element is created. You should not change/create such a class, unless by creating your own BSP Element.
As per your requirement, you can use the SIZE parameter of method factory:
ls_form_save-size = '100'.
CALL METHOD cl_htmlb_fileupload=>factory
EXPORTING
Id = ls_form_save-id
Size = ls_form_save-size
RECEIVING
Element = lv_fileup.

How do I increase the field of view in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) Version 3.1.1.3003

I am using Measurement and Automation Explorer Version 3.1.1.3003 to view pictures on a pc that are being sent from a video camera looking through a microscope. The image I see in the viewfinder of the microscope is MUCH smaller than the image that is displayed on the pc screen. Looking through the viewfinder of the microscope, I can see ~20 mm across the object, but the display from the camera in NI-MAX shows ~4.5 mm across the object. How can I change how much of an object is displayed on the screen in NI-MAX?
The camera is attached to the microscope with a camera adapter on the top of the microscope. The lenses the camera "looks" through and the lenses used when one looks through the viewfinder are the same, so theoretically, there should be no difference in what is displayed on the pc and what is seen through the viewfinder. We have ruled out the microscope and camera as the cause of the problem, which narrows it down to the NI-MAX software itself.
I saw in the forums that you can zoom out on an image; however, this does not change the distance across an image that is seen, just makes the picture of the same ~4.5 mm across the object smaller in size.
Any ideas or suggestions?

I have attached a picture of the object's image being displayed on the pc monitor. Where the field of view (FOV) in the microscope is almost 30 mm, the FOV displayed onscreen is about 7 mm. After contacting companies various times I discovered there was a reducing lens that goes in the C-mount adaptor, but it is over $300.
I thought maybe that the FOV could be changed in in NI Measurement and Automation Exploer (NI-MAX). Any ideas?

Increase the field width in ALV grid display

My problem is that when i am trying to print data through REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY, a particular field which contain message is being truncated, i used ls_layout-colwidth_optimiser as 'X' and also t_fieldcat-outputlen = 1000, but still i am having this prblm, but i checked in the internal table that is passed in ALV, the entire data is stored there, but while printing its getting truncated for a particular field, please suggest me a solution to my problem.

this is a very old thread, so I don t remember the exact solution which I implemented,
however can you use the i_tab name in the field TABNAME of the field catalog.
Regarding breaking the message, you can use a STRLEN if you are aware at the no. of chars where it should break always or split at space the string in 4 strings.
Inside the field catalog you have to take an internal table with 4 different fields and show it.
Hopefully it should resolve your problem.

Problem while assigning the fields of EBM to ABM in Provider

I am facing a problem with the fields of EBM not being able to Assign to ABM in ProviderBPEL
In RequestorABCSImpl, i am transforming a ABM to SupplierPartyEBM(CreateSupplierPartyListEBM is the type i am using)
Field called 'PayementTerm' is being mapped as below

When i test end to end
i am getting an error while assigning 'PaymentTerm/Code' to 'termID'
Error i am getting is "Error in evaluate<from expression at line 677. the result is empty for xpath expression inputvariable/./../PaymentTerm/Code
Please guide me what is wrong in this. In Input Payload i am able to see the value coming in provider but while assigning i'ts failing

Can we increase the field length of Packaging material type description

The field length allowed for packaging material type description is 20 characters. If i need to have this length to be increased to 25-30.Is it possible?
I mean the description that we give when we create new packaging material type.
Pls let me know ur suggestions.

Unfortunately there is no standard way to change this, the desc. field of the view (V_TVTY-VTEXT) is created from the value T685T-VTEXT which has been defined with the Domain TEXT20, so in order to add addition characters to this field, you would need to redefine the preceding field type.

it is not advisable to change the format of standard SAP table fields. most of them are being used in many different places, you will have a hard time making sure that all functionality still works OK after such a change.
maybe you can append new fields to ADRC and work with these.

Problem in Grouping the Fields of a Report

I want to make a report in which a particular field (say A) of a table (T1) is the field on which report is to be grouped above if a field B in T1 has value 'a' then I wish to print certain other fields with the field A when value of field B has value is 'b'.

use avg(Duration% by <"Date Table"."Date Level"> in the answers column.
substitute "Date Table" with your actual time dimension table name, and "Date Level" with your actual date column that you want to group by.

check sy-subrc = 0.
DD03L table contains all the active status table names with all the fields in the table

Increasing font size of a field.

I am running a report from my unix prompt and I want to increase the font size of a text field. The report is in a character mode.I tried increasing the font size on the layout editor but doesnt work. I am printing the report on the HP laser printer. Any other suggestions or roundabouts.

Solved, just change the design to heading1, heading2...
