Problem in JAMES of Jakarta

I m using JAMES of Jakarta as Java Mail Server.
Problem i m facing is that after configuration mail is not sending to external client( like to hotmail or yahoo users) but it is working perfectly for internal users(i.e users made thru JAMES). If anyone has used it then pls help .

How to fix paper feed problem after jam? Paper feeds out diagonally at page bottom. hp deskjet 920c

I have a HP Deskjet 920c printer. One sheet jammed in it, which I pulled out. After that, it prints fine for the first 3/4 of the page, then the feed direction changes and the paper (and thus the printing) comes out diagonally.
I have Windows Vista.

Hi Castor - I followed your instructions and did a semi-full reset after which the printer switched itself off.
I waited a couple of minutes, turned the printer on, answered the questions about language and region and the printer produced an alignment page which was then successfully scanned. So at least that page was fed in and printed correctly. Sadly, with subsequent printed pages, I still had problems with the paper being picked up at a slight angle, printing too close to the top edge, picking up multiple pages when there's just a few pages left in the tray.
So I did the semi-full reset again! This time the alignment page was also printed at a slight angle and starting too near the top edge. The printer refused to detect that alignment page, produced a second alignment page with similar poor printing and this time the printer screen stated: "Alignment Failed.......".
What to do now?

Problem with Jam Pack 4: Symphony installation

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone could possibly help me with this problem I have.
I just bought a Intel duo core Mac mini and I wanted to install my Jam Pack 4 onto Garageband. During the installation, there is no problem. It finishes and says the installation was successful. But when I open Garageband none of the stuff from Jam Pack 4 is accessible. Anyone have any idea what might be wrong? Thanks!

The only thought that comes to mind right away is that one of the display filters is active. Let's take the loops. At the top of the loop browser there is a kind of hidden popup menu, there are a pair of arrows, one up and one down. Click it and make sure "Show All" is selected.

IPod touch pairing problem with jam plus speakers

Hi I'm able to pair two jam plus speakers together and appear on the touch, but when you play music it keeps pausing on the touch, reset them and repaired and this keeps happening, does anyone have any ideas?

Does it work when paired to another device?

When Firefox is not minimised, there are problems with jamming sounds and FPS drops.

Hello, I have some issues, when Firefox is not minimised. When I watch movie on my BS Player or playing World of Tanks and I have not minimised Firefox (there is a window, no matter it is maximised or just window), there are visible FPS drops, but when I minimise the Firefox window, it works just fine. Also when I connect my laptop to my sound amplifier with 2.1 speakers, I can hear a jamming, hamming and whirling, also works fine, when Firefox is minimised. Is there any way to remove this? Its quite annoying. I tried to disable all addons etc., nothing worked. Thanks.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

I just type ./startup.sh, but then I am using a later version.
You would likely get better help at a Tomcat forum.
And then, you need to post what your error is. "Facing a problem" isn't helpful.

Session problem: req.getSession(false) always attempt set a session cookie.

I am having a problem with getSession(false) method. For some reasone

Weblogic can be configured to automatically create a session. Check your properties file
          for the value of weblogic.httpd.session.enable. If set to true, a session will be

Sending mail from James

I used JavaMail API and James Mail Server to send mail, the code for mail was working in other projects. I tried this in home with James, the message seemed sent but I could not find the test mail in my hotmail mail box where my mail was sent. Any ideas? James configuration? I set host to "localhost" which is where my James runs. I turned on DEBUG, then I see following:

I don't think this is a problem with JAMES guys. I think it is a problem with Java Mail. The problem is in authentication. Notice your authentication is set to false. I am using authentication, currently plain auth, and java mail just can't handle it. Every other email client I have used can however, so I have come to the conclusion that the java mail api needs fixed. Seems pretty lame however. The problem seems to be that Java Mail doesn't support Plain Authentication a.k.a clear text authentication.
I turned debug on, and I noticed that useAuth=false was showing up. I had created an Authentication class to return my userid and password and used it, and this was still being set. I did notice that the server sent it Auth info about the type to use when the software requested. I noticed "LOGIN PLAIN". Well, I have a properties object called mailprops. I added mailprops.put("mail.smtp.auth", "true"); to my code to force it to try to use Auth so I could try to see what it was sending. And instead of PLAIN TEXT which is what the server is asking for it recieved.....................here's the debug output....

The values I'm seeing are cryptic. The server didn't tell the client to use any cryptography...?? So, to me this is the underlying problem. I will try to address my issue by seeing if I can set JAMES up to do other authentication mechanisms. I don't expect to have to purchase a certificate just to use a simple authentication scheme to keep people from spamming email from my system. ???? Could someone please pass the problem along to a developer?

External Notifications problem

I have just installed the new device software version 4.6.0.180 on my 8220 after the which the external notification screen has just stopped displaying messages or messenger alerts. Before installing this upgrade I was getting notifications on new mails as well as blackberry messenger messages. I have reinstalled the software a number of times and the problem is not resolved. The red light still blinks if there is message but the external screen only displays the T Mobile logo. Any ideas on how to fix this problem will be appreciated.

I am using version 4.6.0.180 on T-mobile also but I am not experiencing the problem that you mention so it may be that you have something else going on besides the software. James

ORA-28150 when accessing data from a remote database

I have a problem with using a database link to access a table in
a remote database. So long as the dblink uses explicit logins
then everything works correctly. When the dblink does not have a
username then I get the ORA-28150 message. The database link is
always public. A synonym is created locally that points to a
synonym in the remote database. I am using the same Oracle user
in both databases. The Oracle portal lightweight user has this
same Oracle user as its default schema. The contents of the
remote table are always visible to sqlplus, both when the link
has a username and when it doesn't have a username.
All the databases involved are on the same version of Oracle.
I'm not sure which Oracle login is being used to access the
remote database, if my lightweight user has a database schema
of 'xyz' then does portal use 'xyz' to access the remote
database? I would be very grateful for any help or pointers that
might help to solve this problem.

To further clarify this, both my local and remote databases
schemas are owned by the same login.
The remote table has a public synonym.
The link is public but uses default rather than explicit logins.
The local table has a public synonym that points to the remote
synonym via the database link.
If I change the link to have an explicit login then everything
works correctly.
I can view the data in the remote database with TOAD and with
sqlplus even when the database link has default login rather
than explicit login.
This seems to point to Portal as being the culprit. Can anyone
tell me whether default logins can be used across database links
with portal?

Thus you are going to be either constructing some intricate SQL dynamically or you are going to be dragging a lot of data over the wire and doing an in memory search.
Although realistically that is what the database link table would have done as well.
Might be better to look at moving the table data from one database to the other. Depends on size of course.

I have Vista SP2. Every time I open Firefox (3.6.13), I get three consecutive error messages:
1) Windows Mail could not be started. The application was unable to open the Windows Mail message store. Your Windows Mail mailbox data is currently being used by another program, such as a virus scanner. Close the program or wait for it to complete its operation, then open Windows Mail again (0x800C0155).
2) Windows Mail could not be started. Make sure that your disk is not full or that you are not out of memory (0x800C0155).
3) Windows Mail could not be started because MSOE.DLL could not be initialized.
This series of messages continue to recur during my Firefox session and eventually will freeze up my session.
I use Gmail. I do not use Windows Mail or Outlook Express and deleted Windows Live Mail. There is a a file named msoe.dll using the path C: /Program Files/Windows Mail. I also found C:/Program Files/Windows Live/RemoteActiveX even though I thought I deleted all Windows Live programs.
I have set Firefox as the default browser. Also, in Firefox, if I click on "File=>Send Link", it triggers the series of three error messages above.
I don't understand why Gmail would reference Winmail. Any ideas how I can fix this? Can I or should I delete the Windows Mail and Windows Live folders?

I have had many problems with permissions on Windows Vista, 7,8 & 81.1. It is usually after an update or installation, especially one that requires a reboot to finish (some AVG, Windows Live, Windows Updates, etc). Once File(s), Folder(s)
and Registry Key(s) permissions are screwed up, it can take days to work them out if ever.
After having spent several hours on a clients PC and online forums with this problem. I transferred her user profile with a free program called
Transwiz (run as Administrator) to a zip file on the HDD. I renamed her user in manage User Accounts to "Username old". I then ran Transwiz again to restore the profile but telling it to create a new user using the original Username.
After it completed restoring the profile, I logged out of "Username old" and logged in to Username and all wass well, I only needed to supply the email password which is not transferred. When you move profile data, all the old permissions
have to be removed and <st1:personname w:st="on">new</st1:personname> permissions added so the data and files belong to the <st1:personname w:st="on">new</st1:personname> user. This cleared up all the permission
problems.

When we first buy this machine, first paper TEST jammed, then we replaced it and still have problems with jamming paper. Os-es are Win Xp and Win 7, Printing software is Word 2007 and MS Project 2007
Help or can we replaced it with some machine that dont jam paper ???

Check the following Steps :
Press the "Off" button on the printer and turn it around so that the back of the printer is facing you. Unplug the power cord from the back of the unit. This will allow the feed rollers to turn more easily as you clear the paper jam.
Open the access door on the back of the printer. Turn the handle counter-clockwise to remove the door and pull the door off towards you.
Remove the paper that you see in the rollers. Sometimes a piece of paper may be stuck in the front part of the rollers. Look inside the front of the printer and remove the piece that got stuck and could not be reached in the back.
Inspect the inside of the printer and remove any paper pieces that may have fallen to the bottom of the printer. Check the rollers to make sure that they are clean. At this time, wipe the rollers with a damp, lint-free cloth if they appear dirty.
Replace the cover and plug the power cord back into the back of the printer. Turn the printer on and it will be ready to print again.

My thunderbird is not working out properly on my new computer

I changed computers and added Thunderbird again and transferred my gmail to it so I thought, but I did lose all my folders that I had my emails I wanted to keep.
Plus the fact I lost all my address book as well.
Also the emails are up the creek on this new computer.
If I send an email now, it appears ten times in the trash bin and I go in there and delete it.
I haven't got a clear understanding of all my emails as they are all over the place and keep coming up the same over and over again. It is definitely up the creek

So where is the answer to my problem from James then.
Each time I go on those places above it just gives me Mozilla, so how does that help solve my problem then?
Some big help Mozilla is I must say! Just as crappy as the Thunderbird itself.
I just sent an email to a person that replied to my email last night about my trouble on Thunderbird.
Thirty seven emails showed up in my trash bin. 18 of the one sent and the other ones of my reply. That is mad!

Issue in format of WAD Report while broadcasting in MHTML

We are facing an issue in the format of the WAD template into MS outlook email account which is used for broadcasting via emails using MHTML option. The output of the broadcasted emails is different from the actual output of the WAD template (as seen on the screen). On the screen, the user sees borders for all the cells in the table and the result rows and header rows & columns, etc are in different colors.
However, in the MHTML this is not seen. The user requires the same
output format as is seen in the template/screen. This problem is seen
in Production, Quality and Development environments.
We have scheduled the broadcasting via MHTML.
Please suggest.

I do not agree with you. We have the same problem as James, when we look at the email in transaction SOST (SAPconnect: Transmission of emails), the email contains the report in format exactly as what we see when we run it in web online (with borders, colors & etc). This means that the report has already been formatted correctly at the point of sending out in email. Is only that the format changed when the recipients received the emails.
And also, there's no customization on the colors, borders whatsoever. The standard SAP layout is used.
Any other thoughts?
