Problem installing lightroom

I purchased the LR5 software license today, and when I try to install the program, it get 99% done, the the following error
Please advise how I can correct this installation.

Found the announcement and KB-article [1] + other posts on the topic, but my problem is slithgly off;
I see in the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 5.3 12-30-2013.log that the MSI issue happens:
Install MSI payload failed with error: 1624 - Error applying transforms.
Third party payload installer Adobe_Lightroom_x64.msi failed with exit code: 1624
My Adobe Creative Cloud app has "English (International)" set as the app language, though.
Any hope for me to complete the upgrade?

Trick was roughtly;
Sign out of and close CC
Empty temp folder (run -> %temp%)
Sign back in to CC
Restart LR-install, it will fail again. Don't touch
In temp-folder, search for sub-folder called Lightroom_5_CCM_LS1_win6, with the file Adobe_Lightroom_x64.msi in it.
Execute install from mentioned file - that works (should work, and did for me) OK
Sign out and close CC
Sign back in -> now Lightroom 5.3 is listed as installed and up to date!

I have probplems installing Lightroom 4.4 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and hope somebody can help me.
By the way: Lightromm 4.3 is still working fine.
Installation fails with the meassage
"Fehler beim Lesen von Datei: C:\Users\Markus\AppData\Local\Temp\{F7E7AEA5-5112-4244-B427-EC75DV1036A}\Adobe_Lightroom_ x64.msi. Überprüfen Sie, ob die Datei existiert und ob Sie darauf zugreifen können."
Translation:
Error on reading File: C:\Users\Markus\AppData\Local\Temp\{F7E7AEA5-5112-4244-B427-EC75DV1036A}\Adobe_Lightroom_ x64.msi Please check if the file exists and if you have access.
The file exists and I have access...

I was finally able to uninstall CS4 - it takes forever - and reinstall the original CS4 master suite on Windows 7. Then I used the help menu update tool to update directly from 4.0 - a download 930 MBs - that took a long time too - there must have been a huge number of folks downloading from Adobe last night. This morning, the updates worked and the 4.1 update is working smoothly with AVCHD and HDV and other functions all working.
Thanks everyone. As far as back up goes, I back up everything on separate drives. So if I'm currently working on a project, I'll have all the footage and project files duplicated on a separate drive. And, if it's a huge job, I may get paranoid and triple back it up
As far as backing up the system drive on my production machine - there's not much to back up - nothing other than CS4 and other plugins - in fact, I'll intentionally do a clean re-install once every 6 months or at least once a year just to humor myself.
But my test machine - now I have a deconstructionist approach - I'll try to break it just so I can then see what it takes to fix it!

Calmc what error message do you receive when you try to open Photoshop Lightroom? Also which operating system are you using?
Also if you wish to download a copy of Lightroom 5 you can download the installation files from http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_lightroom&promoid&promoid=DT EML. You will be prompted to enter your serial number when you open the software.

Problem installing Lightroom 4

I get a message every time I try to install. It says that "A problem occured when some of the files where extracted. Check computer space and writing rights in "goalmap" (not sure about that translation)". I tried downloading again but it still does not work. Need help please.

When I insert disc, I can open the disc, showing the lightroom 4 package, and the readme file. When I double click the package, nothing happens. When I open the installer, and click on the disc for lightroom 4, nothing happens. Help?

Well, the upshot is that my husbnd is the proud owner of a new macbook. Lightroom wasn't the first thing he hasn't been able to upgrade, so this was just the excuse he needed ;-). We got a good deal on a demo of last year's model.

Trouble installing lightroom

Had trouble installing lightroom 2 and 3 and now having problems installing lightroom 4.
It is a common problem for a lot of Adobe products, something with the downloader.
When you start to install it stops and say there isn't enough room or some stupid stuff.
HELP PLEASE

It isn't a money issue. It is a let your customers know issue. I have used lightroom for a long time and have created a catalog system for thousands of photos. Now I have to start all over again with a new system. I should not have to search forums to find that I need to upgrade my computers, it should be included on any upgrade page for the software not hidden is a separate link. The majority of pc are still running xp and for good reasons. I guess when you get so big you forget how important loyalty is. I was told for years that I would regret using adobe and now I understand why.

A Problem Re-installing Lightroom 3.6

First, excuse my clumsy attempts at describing the problem as I am anything but tech savvy. Recently, my hard drive had to be replaced so I had all of my files/information transferred to a new hard drive, I then re-installed Lightroom 3.6. The last time I did this, when I had to replace my previous computer with the present PC, all of the folders I had imported into my Lightroom catalog "magically" were there to be accessed--each listed in the "index" of folders that one finds to the left under "Folders" once in Lightroom. This time, only a few of the folders appeared there--16 out of about 200. Neither I, nor the "computer guy" who transferred my files (who has no experience with LR) can figure out where these missing LR folders are and how to retrieve them. I have all the original photos stored in several locations, of course, but probably have 200 photos in various stages of being edited in my LR catalog and would hate to lose that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, first step: Find your folders. You cannot use Lr to do this. Lr is not a browser-based program; it does not automatically "see" what is on a hard drive.
Search for your folders in Windows Explorer. If you cannot find the folders in Win Explorer then they are not on the hard drive. But please include all of your hard drives in the search - not only the location where you think they should be.
Once you have found them, comes the second step: Re-linking Lr with the folders.

Problems with Lightroom 5 downloading, installing,

Wedownloaded and installed lightroom 5 for teacher's and students but when we try to run it we get a screen that says we need to extract the files, then when it does so it takes us back to the screen that says we need to extract the files. We don't seem to actually be able to open and run the problem.

Photo 109 please check the location you are extracting too. There is a Setup.exe which will allow you to install Photoshop Lightroom.
