Problem of Cube data in oracle express database

I am having one problem related to express server database created using relational access administrator. I am using express objects to create some adhoc analysis reports. For that i have created express database using Relational Access Administrator(RAA). I have done the following steps:
     1. Created Dimensions (D1,D2,D3)
     2. Created Variable V1 having dimensions (D1,D2,D3)
     3. Mapped D1 dimension to D1_table (dimension table in oracle schema) and same for the rest two also
     4. Mapped Vaiable to F1_Table (fact table in oracle schema)
     5. Saved this project in RAA.
     6. It will create one Data Cude related to vairable V1.
     7. I have created express database maintenance procedure using RAA
     8. Executed express database maintenance (created above) using Batch manager.
     9. Now I try to access V1 variable in express objects. "It shows me values for all related dimensions in this variable,      But it does not show me value for the fact related to this vaiable. It shows blank information."
     If you have any solution then please let me know.
     Thanks in advance.

Hi Visu,
You can do the selective deletion after carefully making the selections. It may also be a good idea to break up the delete process: Like if you need to delete 2004 data for one company code, then you can do that montt by month.
It is okay to include the compression in a process chain. What we usually do is to compress requests that are eg. older than 15 days. By that time we can be sure that this data is correct. You can also make these settings by number of requests to leave uncompressed.
Hope this helps...

  • How to migrate data from oracle 9i database to new machine 11gr2 RAC ASM

    Hi Expert
    I need your expertise to advise me what is the best method to move data from oracle 9i database to new machine running oracle 11r2 RAC database with ASM.
    Currently my production server running on HPUX ORACLE 9I database with normal file system. My new server is running SUN SOLARIS SPACR 64 bit ORACLE 11gr2 RAC with ASM. What is best method to move data over so it will be consistent. Any guide can refer.
    Regard

    Hi William,
    See the note in metalink Migration of Oracle Database Instances Across OS Platforms [ID 733205.1] to saw the Endian Format of your OS. If is the same you can use the RMAN to convert the database to another OS, if not the only option is using export/import (Transportable Tablespaces).
    To upgrade from 9i to 11g, see the note 837570.1 - Complete Checklist for Manual Upgrades to 11gR2.
    To migrate your FS to ASM the only way is using RMAN, so see the note - How to move a datafile from a file system to ASM [ID 390274.1].
    Hope this help you.

    Thanks for your reply.
    We are using CRMOD webservices.
    We want the full OD data to be refreshed overnight and we havve used .NET to build the EXE, the same we have configured as a task.
    Could you please shed some more light as to what would be the best practices to do this.

    Telling us that you are using 11.1 helps. But it is far from a complete description of the environment. What edition of the database are you using? What options are installed? What Enterprise Manager packs are licensed? Is any of this changable? Could you license another option for the database or another pack for Enterprise Manager if that was necessary?
    What does it mean to you to "mask data"? Do you want to store the data on disk and then mask the data in the presentation layer when certain people query it (i.e. store the patient's social security number in the database but only present ***-**- and the last 4 digits to certain sets of employees)? Do you want to hide entire fields from certain people? Do you want to change the data stored in the database when you are refreshing a lower environment with production data? If so, do you need and/or want this process to be either determinisitic or reversable or both?

  • Oracle Express Database to Microsoft SQL

    We are trying PCM v13 and when we installed it we choose to go with the Oracle Express database, if i want to install PCM again but this time using a Microsoft SQL database can i migrate or convert the previous database ?
    Also I would like to know if there is a method to migrate the database of PCM 13 to be compatible with a PCM v14

    The dbsetup utility includes options for both migrating from one dbms to another, and also for converting from a prior version, so the answer to both questions is yes.

    There are several ways, such as ODBC or migration workbench, which is also mentioned in the current article on sqldeveloper on OTN, here's the link. If you use this forum's search function, you should find several threads regarding this topic.

    Hi,
    EdStevens
    Actually I was using SQL Developer. Sorry for the wrong define question. Now the real problem is:
    I want to read or extract data in a txt file from Oracle Dump (.dmp) file without using Oracle sqlPlus or Oracle Database.
    No need to say that i am able to extract dump data using sqlPlus. But for that, there is a little burden to install oracle database
    or sql Developer.
    I also listen about Oracle Loader a little bit. Is it a tool for providing extraction of data from Oracle dump file.
    Thanks for your previous reply,
    And now waiting for your suggestion.

  • Problem in importing data in oracle 10g from 9i backup

    Hi ,
    Am trying to import data in oracle 10g..but it does not importing constraints, and stop doing anything by the msg.
    About to enable constraints.....
    after this msg it does not work.
    plz help,
    Regards,
    Neha

    Hi Neha,
    You have a lot of options. I'll supose you can test first, and you're using an export file.
    First forget about the data, think in your database structure. So you can do this:
    exp userid=... file=exp_norows.dmp full=y rows=n statistics=none
    Now you have the structure of your database. Create the database, in 10g, empty, check you have all filesystem, etc. for you new datafiles. And do the import with parameter ignore=y, you'll see a lot off errors on SYSTEM schema, don't worry about it.
    Now you have the structure of you database in 10g. You can take a look in the import log file, looking for some possible errors come from your schemas. so check the objects, and check the schemas.
    Bear in mind things like CONNECT role in 9i it's different in 10g, you can't create db_links in 10g with "IDENTIFIED BY VALUES" because you'll get an ORA-00600, etc.
    Well, fix all problems on source database (9i) and repeate this procedure until you don't recieve any more errors (not a SYSTEM schema errors).
    When you have everything solved, you can try to import the data.
    I hope, this method can help you. If you have any problem do not hesitate to ask me.

  • Basic connection of data of oracle express with oracle BPA suite

    hello,
    by this means I ask for its aid to be able to solve the following problem, have oracle express edition and business process architect besides business process to publisher and need that both connect to the base of express edition,
    can help me? ,
    thank you very much

    If you want to load HTML file content as structured data, you have 2 basic choices.
    If the HTML is XHTML compliant, then you can process it using the XML functions and XDB features of Oracle. The likelihood that it conforms to XHTML is slight though - very few web systems and services (to my knowledge) dish up XHTML. And plain HTML is not compliant.
    The 2nd choice - well, a dirty one as you will need to find some kind of method to change HTML data into structured data. You can use a HTML parser that builds a HTML DOM - Gecko can be used for example. However, this is not a trivial exercise.
    So instead you can also look at creating code that specifically support the HTML content that you need to process (these should use a static formatting model for the same page types). You can use string processing (Perl, lex, awk, regex, etc) to extract the usable data content from the HTML file and then load that into Oracle as structured data.
    Whatever the method - if not XHTML, then you can expect a fair deal of complexity loading structured data from HTML content.

  • Oracle Express Database - Windows x64

    At the risk of being seriously repetitive, I'll post a question I have seen in various forms for approximately 3.5 years. The user community needs to have a specific, fact-based answer to the problem of no x64 support on Windows. In several threads one can find via Google, people purporting to be Oracle representatives claim a supported version will be available "soon". Soon in my neck of the woods generally means a time frame less than 3 years, but what do I know. Can someone please, please provide a definitive statement of direction on this issue, and assuming this is coming "soon", it would be overwhelmingly wonderful to have a specific date. My company plans/desires/hopes to release software that would embed an Oracle Express db, and frankly I'm about to throw in the towel if I can't get some visibility to this question. As I've heard from many ex customers, "there's always Sql Server".
    Regards, Roger Carter, President, DBConnect Solutions, Inc.

    Thanks for the update. I followed up with Oracle internally via our Oracle Partnership channel, and they checked with the VP of development responsible for XE. The official response is "there is no date where this will be provided for Windows x64. It is, however, under consideration." In my 25+ years of working with Oracle, I will give you my translation - it is not going to happen anytime soon, and to your point, it will probably be version 12 before you see anything. For us, this is a huge disappointment, and it means we will be abandoning many thing with Oracle. It's my view that they don't care about this vertical one bit.

  • Cannot connect to Oracle express database using Oracle forms 10 on win XP

    Hello All,
    I have installed Oracle Developer Suite 10g along with Oracle Express edition database on Windows XP home edition. (Do get successful installation message)
    When i open up Forms builder and try to use connect option- it comes up with user name, password and database dialogue box?
    If I enter user name and password I choose while installation express edition database it comes up with the following error:
    "ORA-12560:TNS:protocol adapter error"
    Have checked the services and they all seem to be running, have tried deinstalling/installing by removing registry values but still no luck.
    In fact what ever I type the error message remains the same.
    On the other hand I can access Express edition database using user name and password I choose during its installation.
    Can any one please reply me what details i need to enter here? Is it same as I set up during express edition database installation? What about database?
    Please help. As I am struggling big time.
    Thanks in advance.

    You may be having the same problem as this guy:
    Forms 6i - ora-012203 tns:unable to connect to the destination
    You need to start SQL Plus and see if you can log in, too, to make sure there are not other problems.
    What are you using for the Database name (the third entry following username and password)?

    Hi,
    Install all the required packages.
    You are hitting a bug. Bug 7680459: LIBXP PACKAGE IS MISSING FROM LIST OF PACKAGES REQUIRED.
    As per documentation Bug 7680459, the package libXp-1.0.0-8 is also required to invoke OUI successfully.
    So, make sure that you have installed these packages including the dependency packages required.

    Jane

    I have a question about using RAW in java program to read write data in Oracle database. Is there any sample with key information for me to refer to? Your help will be appreciated.
    Jane Jane,
    here is a code snippet provided by our QA team
    hope it helps
    Kuassi
    1. Create the table:
    "CREATE TABLE rawtable (key VARCHAR2(30), rawcol RAW(2000), longrawcol
    LONG RAW, moredata VARCHAR2(100))"
    2. Write the data:
    byte x[] = {1,2,3,4,5};
    byte y[]= {6,7,8,9,10};
    PreparedStatement pstmtR =
    conn.prepareStatement("INSERT INTO rawtable (key, rawcol,
    longrawcol, moredata) VALUES (?, ?)");
    pstmtR.setString(1, "rawcol data");
    pstmtR.setBytes(2, x);
    pstmtR.setNull(3, Types.LONGVARBINARY);
    pstmtR.setString(4, "Here's some more data!");
    pstmtR.execute();
    pstmtR.setString(1, "longrawcol data");
    pstmtR.setNull(2, Types.BINARY);
    pstmtR.setBytes(3, y);
    pstmtR.setString(4, "Here's some more data!");
    pstmtR.execute();
    pstmtR.setRAW(1, RAW_obj) can be used to insert the RAW data.
    You can also use setBinaryStream to insert RAW data:
    CallableStatement cstmt =
    conn.prepareCall ("begin insert into rawtab values (?,?); end;");
    cstmt.setBinaryStream (1, (java.io.InputStream) new
    ByteArrayInputStream(rawbuf), rawbuf.length);
    cstmt.setBinaryStream (2, (java.io.InputStream) new
    ByteArrayInputStream(lrawbuf), lrawbuf.length);
    3. Read the data:
    InputStream is = null;
    byte rawbuf [];
    byte lrawbuf [];
    ResultSet rset = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT rawcol, longrawcol FROM
    rawtable");
    // You can retrieve the data with the following methods
    rawbuf = rset.getBytes(1);
    lrawbuf = rset.getBytes(2);
    RAW raw1 = rset.getRAW(1);
    is = rset.getBinaryStream(column);
    is = rset.getAsciiStream(column);
    is = rset.getUnicodeStream(column);
    When using CallableStatement:
    ((OracleCallableStatement)cstmt).registerOutParameter(1,
    OracleTypes.RAW);

  • Extracting date from oracle/other databases exactly to java

    Hello Friends,
    Iam creating a simple program which extracts data from any database and stores it in an XML file and also it can extract data from an XML file and updates the database.
    My program is just getting the tablename as an input and from that it builds the query (select * from tablename). Through ResultSet, Iam extracting date fields with getDate() method of ResultSet, which is yeilding converted dates [In oracle if date is 23-DEC-1980, Im getting it as 1980-12-23 in java]. Even getString() method of ResultSet doesn't work.
    I want my program to work with any database engine, which may have their own date formats. Kindly can anyone suggest me a way to extract date from any database exactly as it is to java.
    NOTE:: I can't use to_char(datefield) type commands in SQLQUERY as the only input to my program is tablename and my query is, select * from tablename.
    Regards,
    Ch.Praveen.

    HI Friends,
    Thanks for your fast replies. My program is extracting data from a database and generating an XML file for it, which is as follows.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <table tableName="EMP">
    <row>
    <column columnName="EMPNO" columnType="NUMBER">7369</column>
    <column columnName="ENAME" columnType="VARCHAR2">'SMITH'</column>
    <column columnName="JOB" columnType="VARCHAR2">'CLERK'</column>
    <column columnName="MGR" columnType="NUMBER">7902</column>
    <column columnName="HIREDATE" columnType="DATE">'1980-12-17'</column>
    <column columnName="SAL" columnType="NUMBER">800</column>
    <column columnName="COMM" columnType="NUMBER" />
    <column columnName="DEPTNO" columnType="NUMBER">20</column>
    </row>
    <row>
    <column columnName="EMPNO" columnType="NUMBER">7499</column>
    <column columnName="ENAME" columnType="VARCHAR2">'ALLEN'</column>
    <column columnName="JOB" columnType="VARCHAR2">'SALESMAN'</column>
    <column columnName="MGR" columnType="NUMBER">7698</column>
    <column columnName="HIREDATE" columnType="DATE">'1981-02-20'</column>
    <column columnName="SAL" columnType="NUMBER">1600</column>
    <column columnName="COMM" columnType="NUMBER">300</column>
    <column columnName="DEPTNO" columnType="NUMBER">30</column>
    </row>
    </table>
    Here you can observe that HIREDATE column is having date in different format than in oracle. We are getting an error while we are extracting data from an XML file and updating the database, as dateformats differ. Can anyone provide a solution, which extracts date from database to java exactly as per the dateformat in database.
