Problem Recording new Audio files?

Same here! Playback seems to run smoothly, but when I try to record a new file, It takes a good minute+ to start recording..and get this, it doesn't start recording until that minute+ into where I started
I am using a macbook pro 2.33 / 2gb RAM...via firepod. Of course this can handle it. Anyone know what the problem might be, and how I can fix it? greatly apprecitated!

ok... i figured out that this problem only seems to be happening in projects that i started in logic 7. i just opened up a new blank project and tried to record something and it works as it should, but it still takes about a minute to start recording in the projects i transfered over from logic 7.
i assuming this is just a bug.
hopefully there will be a fix before the time comes to record vocals for these tracks

    My Soundtrack pro looses the mic on AJAKona.  It will appear as an input only by clicking on New audio file, then ok,  and an Recording alert comes up.  But if I change track I loose the AJA again. How do I fix this?

    Finally found the answer. The recording was done at 48, the audio/MIDI settings were set to 48, but the sampling setting on the export was not, causing everything else to break down. Once all three matched the export worked and the playback audio worked without opening the clip editing screen.

  • Missing Audio when Using MediaCapture to Record an Audio File

    When I use MediaCapture to record an audio file, save it to Azure Blob Storage, and then download it to play it back invariably the first 5 to 6 seconds of the recording are blank. Is there some fix to this? The code I'm using is the standard, as shown below.
    var settings = new MediaCaptureInitializationSettings();
                    settings.StreamingCaptureMode = StreamingCaptureMode.Audio;
                    settings.AudioProcessing = Windows.Media.AudioProcessing.Default;
                    _mediaCapture = new MediaCapture();
                    await _mediaCapture.InitializeAsync(settings);
                    _mediaCapture.RecordLimitationExceeded += new Windows.Media.Capture.RecordLimitationExceededEventHandler(RecordLimitationExceeded);
                    _mediaCapture.Failed += new Windows.Media.Capture.MediaCaptureFailedEventHandler(Failed);
                    var recordProfile = MediaEncodingProfile.CreateM4a(AudioEncodingQuality.Auto);
                    await _mediaCapture.StartRecordToStorageFileAsync(recordProfile, AudioStorageFile);

    Hi IMOsiris,
    Does the record file lost the first 5 seconds when complete recording in windows phone? We need avoid the confounding factors with Azure. Please test it.
    If lost, we can use the code sample from MSDN code gallery to test whether the problem is persists. Post the result here and I will check if this is a known issue.
    https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsapps/media-capture-sample-adf87622.
    If not, that means there is something incorrect when downloading file from Azure. You need to post on Azure forum to report this issue.
    Feel free to let me know if you have any concerns.

  • New audio files receives error message from iTunes - You do not have enough access privileges for this operation.

    Every time a new audio file is downloaded onto my desktop, (or if I double click on a new audio file) iTunes no-longer will play them. It gives an error message stating: Attempting to copy to the disk "Mackintosh" failed. You do not have enough access privileges for this operations.
    Please can you help me to resolve this situaion. I confess that I am not very computer savvy.

    Launch iTunes on the computer.
    From the iTunes menu bar click Store > Authorize This Computer
    Make sure to sign in using the same Apple ID used on the iPhone.
    Then sync your iPhone.

  • Recording multiple audio files

    Hi,
    Is it possible to have a program that will record separate audio files every time the user presses stop and save? Would the solution for this be a state machine...? How could I update the Sound File Open and Output Configure VI's if they are outside the while loop? I am guessing that I could implement this by putting the state machine within another while loop?
    Anton

    Assuming that you only want to record a single file at a time...
    State machine with 4 states - idle, start, read and stop. When you press the start button you go from idle to start and start the sound acquisition. Then you stay in the read case - reading the samples and writing to the file (possibly using producer/consumer architecture with a queue) until the user presses the stop button where you go into the stop case to stop acquiring the sound data and go back to the idle case.
    You could use an event structure to process the button presses.

  • Recording video/audio files using Flash Meida Server through rmtp, and allow users to access the recorded files through http.

    As titled, what is the way to record video/audio files using Flash Meida Server through rmtp, and allow users to access the recorded files through http?
    What I am trying to do, is to record a user's microphone's input and save it to the server. Afterwards, I would like other users to be able to access the recorded files and mainuplating the audio data, by computeSpectrum(), to do some visualization of the audio. As I know computeSpectrum() cannot work on streaming files, so I think I need to access the recorded files using http instead of rmtp. Is that true?
    How can I redirect the http request to the files I was recorded into my applications/appName folder? Or I need to somehow moved the recorded files to the /webroot folder?
    Thanks!

    I probably have asked a stupid question.
    My recorded streams are still saved in the applications/appName/streams folder.
    And I redirect the www.mydomain.com/streams to point to the applications/appName/streams folder.
    And the rmtp recorded streams are abled to connect through http now.

  • URGENT Strange problem with no audio files playing back in arrange

    Anyone ever have something in Logic Pro X (newest .1 update, auto updated on me but seems fine otherwise) where playback of audio just stops? Like, meters still move for automation, audio files still remain in place, but nothing is even metering? Another alternative of this project (which i dont' want to use) works, and this just sorta stopped playing back. nothing i can think that triggered it. I can start up a new instrument and it plays back and records just fine. All of my existing audio just won't play at all.
    I tried changing my interface and back in preferences, I've restarted both program and machine, but just this one alternative of this project (the current and most important of course) just won't play back audio. It even plays back in the wave editor window, just not in the sequence.

  • Problem recording an audio on QuickTime

    Hi everyone!. I was recording an audio with QuickTime when something happened. I don't know what happen. I looked in my desktop and when I saw the file, I closed QT. Well, the problem beginning here.
    QT recorded 2 files, one of them have 1 minute of duration and I can hear it, and an other file that have 4,29 gb, but 00:00 duration time that I can't hear. I need to hear that file, but when I try to open it (with a lot of programs like iTunes, VLC, audacity, sound studio and sound forge) nothing happen.
    This is the error:
    26/08/14 13:28:45,373 ReportCrash: Saved crash report for QuickTime Player[259] version 10.1 (501.29) to /Users/..../Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/QuickTime Player_2014-08-26-132845_MacBook-Pro-de-…..crash
    What can I do?. Do you have some idea?
    I need to hear that audio, it's very, very, very important!..
    I hope you can help me. I will be waiting for your answers.
    Thanks a lot!

    Not sure of the format limitations on Mac's but you might do similar to what one does with Export for/Import to Adobe Encore (if no "linking" is used). This entails Exporting as elemental streams, i.e. a Vdieo-only file and an Audio-only file - non-muxed. These two files are then Imported (Encore in this case) and "assembled" within the program. For the above, I use DV-AVI Type II (non-muxed) and PCM/WAV, or AC3 (non-muxed). This is for SD source/output. Obviously, with the Mac, further consideration will be needed. HD material will change my described workflow too, as regards to Export file format for the Video.
    Good luck,

  • Soundtrack Pro crashed. Now can't open or create new audio files.

    I was editing an audio file in Soundtrack Pro v1.1. I also had Flash, Parallels and a few other applications open. I plugged in my USB headset. Parallels crashed. Then Soundtrack Pro hung up. Then I had a complete system crash and needed to restart. After restarting I can no longer open Soundtrack Pro files or create new files. All other applications including Final Cut Pro seem to be working fine. I tried reinstalling Soundtrack Pro, but that didn't help. I don't get passed the Soundtrack Pro spash page. I can select menu items such as preferences, help, and even new. However, when I select create new file nothing happens. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    I deleted the preferences file (soundtrack.plist), then restarted the application. That didn't work.

  • Consolidate Regions to make one new audio file ?

    Hi.
    I have recently started working with a songwriter who is using Logic Express 7. . He is not a "wiz" with Logic & I work in Pro Tools.
    I want him to be able to consolidate his audio regions in Logic to one audio file, ( with out bouncing ), that he can then send to me. .
    So my question is, what is the simplest way for him to do this ?
    Thanks in advance for any help. .

    Yes.
    Basically, i would create short dummy regions at 1 1 1 to make sure all the consolidated regions / audiofiles start at the very same point so that you have no problems finding the correct start point in PT. Furthermore, i would create dummy regions at the end of the song to make them all the same length - this can come in handy if there is a snychronisation issue and one of the regions somehow doesn't fit. In this case, you have a second reference point to work with.
    I guess i don't have to tell you to watch out for the correct sample rate and bitdepth...

  • Problem recording 5 audio tracks in one go

    HI
    I have audio tracks 1 - 5 on logic assigned to tracks 1 - 5 on my mackie mixer. Though when i go to click all the record buttons so i can record 5 audio tracks (live drums) in one go it wont let me. For example The record button only lights up red on one track, ie audio track one. When i click the audio track 2 record button that lights up the track one red light goes out.
    Has any one got any advice, i cant record all my tracks in one go,
    Thanks

    Your inputs need to be 1 - 5... on your channel strip,right under the i/o there is a little gray box that displays,the input, if all the channels have the same inputs,then only one track will rec enable at a time.select your inputs according track 1 should be input 1 track two should be input 2 ect. • How can I record an audio file directly from a digital recording device directly to the iMac?

    How can I record audio directly to my iMac from a digital recoding device?

    What digital recording device?

  • Where is the start of the audio file/recording?

    I'm emailing mixdowns to a studio where they will lay the files to movie timecodes that I have specified in a cue sheet. I'm a bit worried that the timecodes are incorrect. The possible issue concerns the start of the audio files.
    I recorded the tracks down to a stereo file, a region, that appears to start in the arrange at the correct point. But when you record, Logic includes some recording before the start of the region, before the Anchor, correct? And my question is this: when the files are opened in ProTools, does Protools see the Anchor, see the start of the region and ignore the bit before the region starts, or not?
    It's crucial, because if it doesn't all my in-points will be out but over a second (by the amount of time before the region start that somehow seems to exist in the audio file.

    Hi
    If I understand the problem correctly?

    This can depend on how you did the "record down to a stereo file".
    If you routed tracks to bus channels, then recorded the bus to another track, Logic will include the count-in in the audio file. As you say, the region in the Arrange will be correctly "trimmed".
    One solution would be to convert these bounced regions to new audio files (Audio Menu), another to use Bounce Region (or track) in Place.
    Alternatively, use a manually placed "2 pop" 2 seconds before the start of each cue.

  • How can I convert a track with multiple comps to one new complet audio file

    I have one track that is great - but it is composed of different sections (NOT regions) which are different comps from punching in on different regions -- (you can see the divisions between the comps, and each different comp has its comp number (or name) - but these are NOT region divisions). I would like to make the whole track one new audio file to work with - that is, join all the comps together as one new audio file (as you would join separate regions on a track into one new audio file). All I can think of is to unpack the track (comps) onto different tracks (channel strips) which would make each comp a new region on a new track and then paste them back together and then make an audio file, but this seems fairly complicated

    hey - it appears that this worked -- i exported it to another track (as an audio file -- this is done in the "file" menu) and it now is on a new track in t he same project as one audio file without an divisions between the comps -- appears to have worked -thank you so much (btw, don't forget to tell it what type of file you want it exported as, it wants to default to aif, --i record in wav files 24 bit
    thanks again for everyone's responses - this forum has helped me so much
    peace - alex
