Problem viewing SWF after uploading to site

Hi all, my SWF file won't load properly when it is online.
It is a photo album containing 17 photos.
Photos 14, 15, and 16 won't load, no matter what browser or computer I use.
Offline, the file works fine - all 17 photos load, in every browser as well as in Flash/Dreamweaver.
Can anyone help?

Did you use Muse's FTP upload feature or a 3rd party FTP upload client?
Usually if you upload your site and it appears scrambled it's caused by one of these things:
1) Not all files were uploaded. If you use Muse's FTP upload feature, it should automatically upload all the files that have changed. If you're uploading using another FTP client, be sure to upload all the html, css, and js files that have been modified by Muse on export. A common mistake is uploading the changed HTML files, but not the changed CSS files that go with them.
2) If you've verified that you uploaded all the changed files, try clearing your browser cache and reloading the page.

  • Broken links after uploading web site to server

We created our office's web site using Dreamweaver CS4, and uploaded it to the server of our ISP.  Prior to uploading, we tested the site in both IE7 and Firefox, and everything worked fine.  After uploading, however, all images are lost and several of our links are broken.  Any suggestions on where to start looking and how to fix are very appreciated.

Your code is whacked. Your page can't find the Spry files. Your code is like this:
    <link href="../SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    <script src="../SpryAssets/SpryMenuBar.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <link href="../SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarVertical.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
That dot-dot part (../) means the page needs to back up to the parent folder, then enter the SpryAssets folder. Same for your images and links:
    <h1><a href="../Images/larger-logo.jpg"><img src="../Images/larger-logo.jpg" alt="logo" width="300" height="150" border="0" align="left" /></a></h1>
Looks like you used a Dreamweaver template and somehow your links/references got messed up. It has nothing to do with uploading to a server. The problem is most likely caused by [a] Dreamweaver site not properly configured, or [b] improper use of a Dreamweaver template. You'll need to either manually fix all the bad code or try to recreate a page based on the template - or even recreate the template.
First thing first - you need to understand the problem. Do you understand - looking at your code - what the problem is? Why those ../ are breaking things? Do you understand the concept of paths? You need to understand that before you can understand how to fix this.

  • Problem viewing videos on my iweb site - Macs only

    Hello,
I recently uploaded some .movs (Quicktimes) to my iweb site. They were exported from Final Cut Pro using Compressor, using the Quicktime streaming option, size 320x240. When I publish, anyone using a PC (presumably Firefox) can click the play button on the quicktime and watch it. However, when viewing the page on a Mac (tested on a few different systems) you can't click the play button, you can't even scrub through the video. On a laptop you can ctrl+click and it will play, but I can't get it to work on a desktop (either with ctrl+click or right click). The website was published on a computer with Tiger, and iLife '04.
In case it's important, I've had success publishing videos on sites made with iLife '04 but with the Leopard operating system (on a different computer), but I'm thinking this shouldn't be a problem.
Anyone heard of this problem or have any solutions for me?

Update: just discovered that it has nothing to do with desktops and laptops, but in Safari you can right click the play button and it will play. In Firefox on a Mac, there is no way to get it to play. In Firefox in a PC, however, you can just click it normally to play.

  • Problems with Recordset after install MX Site Search extension

    Hi guys,
After install the MX Site Search extension in my Dreamweaver
8, i can't create Recordset. I press the button and nothig is
happen. I already uninnstall the extension, dreamweaver and
    continue same problem.
Please i need fix this problem.
    Help me!

Sounds to me like the extension overwrote the Dreamweaver
    recordset code.
Extension developers should never never do that .. but a few
    do
    unfortunately.
If you're on a windows machine, try going to C:\Documents and
    Settings\yourname\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 8\
    and throw away
the User Configuration folder. The next time Dreamweaver is
    opened, it will
generate a new User Configuration folder for you (make sure
    you have your
extensions saved somewhere as it will be a clean
    configuration folder) and
    you should be all right.
If the main recordset code was overwritten, you will have no
    choice but to
uninstall DW8 and reinstall it from a CD or fresh download.

  • Problem viewing data after import TDMS file

    Environment SignalExpress 3.0. Windows XP.
I have a number of logs created and saved in a SignalExpress 3.0 project. I'm trying to import a single log into a new project and view the data in a data view window.
    So I do:
    Open SignalExpress
File->Import->Logged Signal from SignalExpress TDMS files
Navigate to the log folder named - "25062009_135820_-_Nano_Carbon_Pyrograf_T1"
Double click the tdms file named - "Voltage.tdms"
I see the following tree structure in the Logs pane :
    Logs
        - 25/06/2009 13:58:20
            - Nano Carbon Pyrograf T1
                - Voltage - Dev3_ai0.
If I then try to drag Voltage - Dev3_ai0 onto a data view it doesn't work.
I've inspected the original project which I used to create the log  tried to import above. Comparing the tree structure it looks:
    Logs
        - 25/06/2009 13:58:20 - Nano Carbon Pyrograf T1
            - Voltage
                - Dev3_ai0
In this project I can drag Dev3_ai0 onto a data view with no problem.
Notice the difference in tree structure in the Logs pane? I'm pretty sure SignalExpress is parsing the log wrongly when it imports it!
    Mike

    Hi Mike
I know that we have communicated over email but I just wanted to respond here so others can see the workaround.
I have investigated the issue and have been able to reproduce the issue, even in Signal Express 2009. The problem is caused by the name you specify for the log when you begin recording. If the character "-" is present at any point in the name of the log, Signal Express does not import the tdms file correctly. This is not an issue with the tdms file, as it opens fine with LabVIEW, but must be an issue with Signal Express. I have reported this as bug under reference #182846. For now, you should not use the "-" character in the name of your log.

  • Flash video works onDreamweaver preview but not after uploaded to site

    Hi,
I created a page with FW CS3 and opened it with Dream weaver.
Using Flash CS3 I created some video clips. I then inserted three
video files to the web page. In DW preview mode I can see the
videos. I copy the source code and pasted it to the index page of
my website as well as uploaded all the sit files from my hard drive
folder to the website. The page comes up but not the videos.

Search this forum for "FLASH" "UPLOAD". You'll find hundreds

  • Problem viewing photos after restoring new iPhone 6

Got a new iPhone 6 yesterday. Followed the basic steps to duplicating my old 5 to the 6 and synced perfectly. However, when I went to view my photos, I noticed that nearly all of them were blank/white. The phone recognized that there were photos but would not show them or load them. Can I get some help on how to get my photos to show? I also have iCloud Library Sharing turned on.

    Greetings kspenrath,
After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an error with the Camera app on your iPhone. You may want to consider restarting the device first, and then resetting if that does not work. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until the red slider appears. Then drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
    How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

  • Problem with website after uploading?

I am using iWeb '09 to create a website. I already have an ftp server and a purchased domain name. When I upload the website to the ftp server, everything seems fine, but when I open it up, the most bizarre thing happens. My website shows up as an index with links the html files that are my webpages. When I click on them, my pages show up completely barren, with only the html. No shapes, no widgets, no color, no video, and all writing is in the same font in the same size. Here are two examples to show you what I mean-
    http://www.everyonecanhelp.org/
    http://www.101dreamcaster.com/
    Thanks for a response,
    Jack.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions, Jack.
You are seeing the root directory of your assigned section of the FTP server. This happens for a few different reasons:
1.) You do not have an index.html file at the root level of your server directory (The index.html file is the index of your site. Without it your web browser just shows you what files are sitting on the server, rather than loading a page as without an index, it has no idea where to find anything on it's own.)
2.) Your index.html file is broken
3.) Your server is broken / configured incorrectly (or it was changed by your host recently)
4.) Your domain name forwarding / routing is not set to the correct location on the server
    How to fix:
1.) Click on your site in iWeb and go to File > Publish Entire Site (This should overwrite all files on your server with the site).
2.) Remove the following files to the trash, restart the computer and Publish Entire Site again:
    Home > Library > Caches
    Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.iWeb.plist
3.) Make sure your FTP settings in iWeb are correct. If any of the information in the FTP window (especially the Path) is not exactly what your Host tells you to type in, it could produce the behavior we see.
4.) Make sure that your iWeb site is ok.
__Publish your Site to a local folder on your computer and open it.
_If it opens fine in your web browser locally then you know your site is fine. The issue is server side. Contact your host. I would suggest they remove everything from the server so you can publish your site again afresh. There may be a file that is corrupt and will not let itself be overwritten (which would explain why step 1 might fail).
_If they remove all the contents and you re-publish and the same issue occurs then they should make sure the forwarding of your domain name is going to the correct location on the server (unlikely given that it takes us to a directory on the server at all, but worth checking.)
    Hope that helps.

  • Problems viewing pdfs after upgrade to acrobat reader 8.0

After uograding to acrobat reader 8.0, employees are getting garbage characters when they open docs created in acrobat 7.0.  Everyone is running Windows XP.  They have saved docs to desktop and tried to open but still no luck... any suggestions?

Try re-starting Safe Mode (It will take more time to startup in Safe Mode because it runs a directory check.)
If your Finder functions correctly that way, go to System Preferences >> Accounts >> Login Items, and remove them. Boot normally and test. If not go to ~(yourHome)/Library/Contextual Menu Items and move whatever is there to the desktop. Then do the same with /Library/Contextual Menu Items. Lastly, try moving ~(yourHome)/Library/Fonts to your desktop and restarting.
Log out/in or restart, if that sorts it start putting items back one at a time until you find the culprit.
    Let us know.

  • IWeb problem viewing on some older versions of IE

I hope someone can help. I just published my iWeb site. I'm using version 2.0.2.
It seems that the page appears broken on some older versions of IE using Windows or it doesn't load at all.
Also I uploaded some changes and when I view it on my Mac using Safari I don't see the changes but other people using Windows can.
I'm curious how it looks on other Macs using Safari. www.prizerphoto.com
Is there a newer version or a patch available?
    Thank you

To view changes after uploading, click "Empty Cache..." in the "Safari" drop down menu before visiting your site.
Due to the number of images, your website will be hard to download in the latest version of IE. Older versions will have no chance!
To help get your site to download in the WWB (World's Worst Browser) you have to optimize your files.
Pay particular attention to the size of your photo files.

  • Swf files appearing in preview (D8) but not n browser after uploading - frustrated!

    Hello,
I have worked with Flash and Dreamweaver on the side for a
number of years. We all know that after the recent changes, the way
it handles object and embed tags has changed to favor Java
    actionscripts instead.
This code I am about to paste was created using Dreamweaver
8.02, with transitional (x) html. Now mind you, this is not the
prettiest piece of code you've ever seen. I now am learning to use
CSS layouts instead of layers/tables, with php and flash
integrated. This one example is not the only time I have had this
    problem however.
I made a silly flash banner (its actually a placeholder for a
better one I have to develop) for testing purposes and sizing. It
appears fine in Firefox, and IE6 in the preview mode via
Dreamweaver. When I upload it all to the site, the flash banner
    does not appear.
I have tried copying the FLA and SWF files to the root folder
(the fla, swf, and html files generated are all present), and tried
a number of variations in the code and parameters to no avail. The
darn thing just won't appear now. Similarly older pages I have
created that Dreamweaver now prompts you to "fix the object tag
that may not work in IE7...etc" have the same issue. If I select
"go ahead and fix them for me", they are visible in production, but
    gone after uploading.
Now to remove the possibility that this was a layering or
parent tag issue of visibility, I created a blank HTML page and
"insert/media/flash" and stuck the banner in there, then uploaded
it to my server. It doesn't appear.
I need help. I have been scouring the web for a few days now
to no avail and have become quite frustrated with what used to be a
really easy integration of Flash and html.
Here is the top chunk of code from the page in question: (the
page is live with the missing banner here:

  • Viewing photos on Picasa Web after uploading-some are blank. Why?

Viewing photos on Picasa Web after uploading-some are blank. Why
Having trouble viewing photos in Picasa Web albums. When I upload them from my Picasa program to the web, some do not get loaded. Lots of blanks between photos.
Help from Picasa told me It was a problem with Mozilla Firefox to "Right-click the placeholder of. browser, however, I have been unable to do this.

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
    See:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Images_or_animations_do_not_load
    * Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in Tools > Page Info > Permissions
    * Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
    * Check the exceptions in Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions
    * Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images)
There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.
