Problem while creatin jsp portlet

hello all,
i get an error "500 internal server error" while creating jsp portlet. i do not write any thing in view.jsp page.
can any body tell me what is wrong with it? i am using oracle jdeveloper 10g (version 10.1.2.0.0).

This issue is corrected. You should make a search in SAP Marketplace. There is a note to correct that issue.
I cannot search from my place (mobile handy device) but you should be able to find it easily in LO-MD-BP-CM or FI-AP* or FI-AR* + TMOD* or the error number.
The note is quite recent. Probably less than 6 months.

Database DNS problem while uploading jsp's

We create DNS while working with localhost on winodws machine but when we upload the jsp's and database then how do we manage the DNS problem do we have to create the DNS there too or there is some other way out

Problem while building jsp/servlet in j2me

Hi friends,
I'm building Servlet in j2me.When i run this Servlet on web browser the Servlet running fine.But while in application when i used
conn = (HttpConnection)Connector.open( url );
where url = "http://localhost:8080/servlets-examples/hits"
It hangs ,the debugger stuck at this method .It didn't throw any Exception also.
Whats the problem?how could i resolve this issue?

I debug the code while doing so i realised that it throwing SecurityException .So edit the preferences>
where in security i've change it to untrusted and restore the settings.
After clicking on OK .
The application works fine.

Problem while compiling JSP in FORTE

Hello Friends,
I am using Fore for Java 4 Community Edition, I have created a web module. I am using internal tomcat 4.0 server. When I request for a JSP which has a bean or a class file stored in the WEB-INF\classes folder either using useBean tag or if try to create an object of that class, I get compilation error as forte is not including those classes in its classpath. But when I deploy the same application on external tomcat, it works fine. Even after I mount the classes folder in the project, it doesn't solve the purpose. Please help me to get rid of this problem. My directory structure is as follows.
root - jsp and html files
root\WEB-INF\web.xml
root\WEB-INF\classes - all class files
root\WEB-INF\lib - lib jars

I am also working on Forte. Forte has an inbuilt Tomcat. You dont need to copy any files to any where in the file mount system. You need to specify the External / Internal Browser settings, So that when you try to execute it, the .jsp file can be displayed in the browser. I havent faced any problem as you said.

JSP Portlet Problem

Hi,
i have installed oracle portal 3.0.6.3.3 on NT.
The problem is that i face problems while trying to install a sample portlet given in JPDK download.
i have followed the exact instructions as given in the oracle portal development kit installation guide(Pre-configuration and Set-up).
when registered a sample portlet provider in the Admin tab, and i tried to put it into my page, i got the following error.
Error:(WWC-00000)
The following error occurred during the call to Web provider: true (WWC-43147)
i've already searched in metelink but there is not information about.

I have not seen this error before, so I will try to help you debug.
Are you able to display any of the portlet samples from the JPDK. Using PDK January, 8 are JSPs and 2 are servlets. HelloWorld and Web Services Portlet are servlet implementation. Can you display any of them?
1) Check the provider.xml file make sure that you only changed the <appRoot> and this should point to the location of your JSP directories. For example: D:\9iAS\Apache\Apache\htdocs\lottery
2)Make sure that you have placed the location of the provider.jar and sample_portlets.jar in the jserv.properties file.
3)Question, when you are trying to add portlets to the page, do you actually see the information in the "Add Portlets" page? Do you see a description of the Web Services Portlet? If you can see the Web Services description, it sees the sample_portlets.jar.
Please let me know the answers to the above questions and if you get it working, can you post the solution on the message board to help others having the same problem.

Upload file form problem in JSP portlet !!!

Hi!
I use "OrdHttpUploadFile" class for upload file in JSP portlet to database!
Problem is that this class must use FORM ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data" whis I suppose dont work in portlet!?
Which FORM ENCTYPE should I use in portlet! Or there is some other solution for upload file in JSP portlet!?

My scenario is in 2 phases
Phase 1. I am taking input from the front end using jsp and writing the contents in to a file and then downloading that file on to my desktop.(Now let us say this one as file downloading)
Phase 2. Now I had designed a page,which locates the downloaded file by using the following tag.

In the downloaded xml file I am having applicationid. I am checking whether the application id already xists in the database (or)not.
If already exists in the database , the end user will get one confirmation msg,saying application already exists in the database.
If the user clicks ok again the request has to go to the servlet.
Now the actual problems are
1. When I locate the file on the desktop let us say c:\desktop\krish and click on submit button, it is locating to the file that is present in the server(this is the case for the first time means before checking the application id in the database).
2. when the end user clicks "ok" on the confirmation box , I am not getting the file name,that has to be submitted to the servlet.
Can u plz help me how to resolve this issue.

Session problem in JSP portlet

I have a jsp portlet. In this jsp i am creating a session and i am putting some value in session. There is navigation from this jsp to second jsp(not portlet) and from this jsp to third jsp(again this is also not a portlet). Now in third jsp i am trying to retrieve the value from session. But i am getting null value.
In provider i given <session>true</session> element. While registering provider with portal given login frequency 'once per user session'.
The code in first jsp is:

To share a session between a web provider and other JSPs or Servlets, you need to make sure the "Same Cookie Domain" checkbox is checked AND your session cookie is scoped to a common domain (eg us.oracle.com)

Problem including a jsp in edit mode

Hello
Somehow i have a problem while including a jsp page while displaying the edit mode.
If my doEdot just writes something like "Hello World" into the response it just works fine.
But if i try to include a jsp resource the problems start to arise:
1. The normal resource lookup request.getResource(IResource.JSP, bla) returns an unavailable resource. This seems the be because although a working instance of my portlet is used, the passed request belongs to another context.
2. Passing a precomputed resource seems to work, the page definitly gets called (-> it gets compiled and no errors show in stacktrace), but a sap dialog shows, saying that no properties exist, that can get configured cry
I even stripped the jsp page to the single line "Hello", it gets compiled, but not shown!?
                                                                                edit: After the dialog a new dialog is shown sayin: The specified root item cannot be retrieved from the configuration. Correct the entry before trying again
Even IF my confoguration is wrong (higly possible), why does it only show when using include but not while writing directly into the response stream?
Solution:
Portlet gets called via doEdit and thus is in edit mode. Since jsp pages extend AbstractPortalComponent the service method does not serve via the doContent method but tries to call doEdit on itself. Since jsp pages usually do not define doEdit, the default edit behavior gets applied.
Set Default mode within the request type and the request node.

Problem while using h:selectOneMenu tag

I am facing a problem while using the <h:selectOneMenu in my JSP.
My requirement is as below,
I am having a list of manager in the select box.
User will select any of the manager and click a command link to assign the manager.
On click of this command link backerbean method should be invoked.
My problem is,
I am able to display the list box without any problem.
But Once I select any value from the list box the command link is not working.
That is click on the command link is not invoking the backer bean method.

A web developer problem while running a web application

I'm novice to J2EE.
I've encountered a problem while accessing the deployed module in weblogic 8.1 server.
I'm sure that the webapplication module is deployed as i saw my module in administration console & also the status said that it is deployed.
when i access my web application by specifying the proper server and port no and context root it is showing
either 505 - resource not found error(http://localhost:7001/Suresh-2/Suresh) or 404 - not found error.( http://localhost:7001/Suresh-2/Suresh)
Now let me elaborate what i've done till now.
My webapplication folder structure is : C:\bea\user_projects\domains\mydomain\applications\Suresh\WEB-INF\classes\Sai\ServExamp.class
My servlet is ServExamp.java
I created a folder called "Suresh". In that folder created another folder called "WEB-INF". In WEB-INF created a folder called "Classes".
Since my servlet is in package "Sai", the .class file reside in \Suresh\WEB-INF\Classes\Sai\ServExamp.class

1) clicked on deployments, then navigated to "Web Application Modules" .
2) Clicked "Deploy new Web Application Module"
3) Navigated to the location of your web application folder (Suresh). There was a radio button next to it indicating that I can select that folder as a valid web application.
4) I Clicked that radio button and clicked "Target Module".
5) It informed that my web application "Suresh" will be deployed to myServer.It asked a name for my web application deployment. By default it was "Suresh"
I clicked Deploy.
6) After deployment, my web application "Suresh" appeared in the "Web Application Modules" tree on the left.
I Clicked on "Suresh"( my web application) then clicked the testing tab, then clicked the link shown there(http://localhost:7001/Suresh-2).
It was not showing my servlet (showed a 403 error)

I think so it came b'coz I don't have an index.html or index.jsp page.
7)Instead,I added my servlet on to the URL it provided.

Error While running JSP-

while running JSP which is deployed in JAvaWebserver2.0 Trial version, it is giving this error

This is happening while inserting a record to any master-detail jsp. In some Jsps while displaying(viewRecord) itself it is giving this error. After this error comes we are not able to do any insert, update or even navigation is not coming properly. Some vague errors like Error Message:null is coming. Why is it so? anybody got any idea abt this? Sometimes The same Jsp is working fine.

Is your JSP functioning correctly when you run it from within JDeveloper, or are you experiencing the same problems there?
If you are having the same problems from your JSP within JDeveloper, try the same from the Application Module tester.
This will help determine where the source of the error is.

A small problem while running my webapplication

I'm novice to J2EE.
I've encountered a problem while accessing the deployed module in weblogic 8.1 server.
I'm sure that the webapplication module is deployed as i saw my module in administration console & also the status said that it is deployed.
when i access my web application by specifying the proper server and port no and context root it is showing
either 505 - resource not found error(http://localhost:7001/Suresh-2/Suresh) or 404 - not found error.( http://localhost:7001/Suresh-2/Suresh)
Now let me elaborate what i've done till now.
My webapplication folder structure is : C:\bea\user_projects\domains\mydomain\applications\Suresh\WEB-INF\classes\Sai\ServExamp.class
My servlet is ServExamp.java
I created a folder called "Suresh". In that folder created another folder called "WEB-INF". In WEB-INF created a folder called "Classes".
Since my servlet is in package "Sai", the .class file reside in \Suresh\WEB-INF\Classes\Sai\ServExamp.class
The source code is :

Now i'm almost done creating a web application. Next, I constructed a simple web.xml descriptor that gives a web friendly name for my servlet, and points to
the servlet. I constructed web.xml descriptor file in the WEB-INF folder (C:\bea\user_projects\domains\mydomain\applications\Suresh\WEB-INF\).

Now I have told Weblogic that the URI /Suresh corresponds to my servlet "Sai.ServExamp".
My Web Application is ready to be deployed at this point. I logged onto Weblogic's admin console,
*1) clicked on deployments, then navigated to "Web Application Modules" .*
*2) Clicked "Deploy new Web Application Module"*
*3) Navigated to the location of your web application folder (Suresh). There was a radio button next to it indicating that I can select that folder as a*
valid web application.
*4) I Clicked that radio button and clicked "Target Module".*
*5) It informed that my web application "Suresh" will be deployed to myServer.It asked a name for my web application deployment. By default it was "Suresh"*
I clicked Deploy.
*6) After deployment, my web application "Suresh" appeared in the "Web Application Modules" tree on the left.*
I Clicked on "Suresh"( my web application) then clicked the testing tab, then clicked the link shown there(http://localhost:7001/Suresh-2).
It was not showing my servlet (showed a 403 error)
Error - 403
This status code is commonly used when the server does not wish to reveal exactly why the request has been refused, or when no other response is applicable.
I think so it came b'coz I don't have an index.html or index.jsp page.

It is showing these error code: Http: 505 resource not allowed

Please try the following:

Open the localhost:7001 home page and then look for links to the information you want.
Click Search to look for information on the Internet.
when i just type : http://localhost:7001/ -> Error 404 not found error

Note: I even deployed my war file, which i got by execution of (jar cv0f webapp.war . ) command from the root directory of my web application i.e. Suresh
Then executed my webapplication it is showing
error-505 resource not allowed.

Error while using jsp scriptlet or expression with JSPDynpage default jsp

I am getting the following error while trying to use any kind of jsp scriptlet or expression within the default jsp page that is created with JSPDynpage application:

What could be the problem. Are jsp scriptlets or expressions incompatible with portal applications?
