  • Fetal error while installing weblogic server 12c on windows 64 bit

    Dear all,
i have windows7 64bit, oracle 11g database, and my java version as i enter the JAVA -VERSION command at the cmd prompt is below
    C:\Users\Administrator>java -version
    java version "1.4.2_06"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_06-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_06-b03, mixed mode)i want to install weblogic server generic wls1211_generic.jar.
    when i enter the command
    java -Xmx1024m -jar wls1211_generic.jar
    or
    java -Xmx1206m -jar wls1211_generic.jar
it try to open the installation but give a fatal error like below
A fatal error occured, this application will terminate.
    any idea?

    Hi,
i did the same as you said, i.e i add this path to the PATH variable C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.7.0
add the bin directory to this path, so you should have C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.7.0\bintest it in the command prompt with java -version and it should prompt you java 1.7
also be sure the generic jar is not corrupted.
and one more thing you should use this command to install with generic jar:
    java -jar wls1211_generic.jar

    Hi
Go to your soa domain root folder/bin and open setSOADomainEnv.cmd file in any text editor. Search for -Xmx1024m and replace that with -Xmx512m. I would prefer copy this entire line and comment one old line and edit the new line with this new value of 512m. So that you know what you changed later on. I do something like this on my side
REM JEGGA changed -Xmx1024m to -Xmx512m
    set DEFAULT_MEM_ARGS=-Xms512m -Xmx512m
    REM set DEFAULT_MEM_ARGS=-Xms512m -Xmx1024m
Now you should be able to start the domain. Still 2GB is kind of low memory to start SOA Domain with AdminServer and managed server. One other option you have is while Creating SOA Domain, do NOT use all the defaults, instead check the boxes like to changed managed servers etc. And remove the soa managed server during this process and remove the cluster. Just have only one Admin Server and all the SOA Modules deployed to this AdminServer only. In this way, you will have SOA Domain with only one AdminServer and you can start this admin server alone. You can deploy any SOA Application on this domain and it should work fine.
Refer this thread for creating single server soa domain:

  • Getting problem while installing Sql Server 2012

I am using Windows 8 in my system. I am trying to install Sql Server 2012 in my system .
But i am getting following error in the final.
The required MSI package 'D:\SQL Server 2012\x86\setup\sql_engine_core_shared_msi' doesn't exist.
    Please, help me quickly.

    Hi,
You post same question 3 times. Please avoid this practice on Forum, I
have merged the same thread  into this thread . Thanks for your understanding.
In addition, as other post, you can copy the missing .msi file from the complete and unbroken installation media to your MSI package path. Then run as administrator again. And also check if your account has read and write permission for your installation
media saving path. If the error still exists, you can check the SQL setup logs (Detail.txt and summary.txt) for analysis.
There is similar issue about installing SQL Server failed due to miss the required MSI package.

  • Error while installing weblogic server

    Dear all,
    i have install oracle database 11g r2 64bit on windows 7 64bit.
    i download weblogic server ofm_rcu_win32_11.1.1.3.3_disk1_1of1.
i want to install it, i run the rcu from C:\ofm_rcu_win32_11.1.1.3.3_disk1_1of1\rcuHome\BIN directory.
    it give the following error
windows cannot find "C:download", make sure you type the name correctly.
    why?

    Hi Maahjoor,
this ofm_rcu_win32_11.1.1.3.3_disk1_1of1 is not the weblogic's installers, is RCU.
If you want to install Weblogic you don't need RCU, RCU has been made to create schemas which are needed for some types of installation like SOA suite, BI Publisher etc.
You can get Weblogic installer from this url:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/weblogic/downloads/wls-for-dev-1703574.html
To install Weblogic you only need a JDK 1.6 or a JRockit 1.6
Hope this clarify your doubt :)

  • Is there any problem while changing WEBLOGIC server to OC4J

    Hi,
We have developing a product in Jedeveloper 11g. In the development mode, we are using WEBLOGIC 10.3 as the application server. But during production mode, we have to apply the EAR files in oc4J APPLICATION SERVER.
While changing this, whether my system will work as such in the WEBLOGIC server?
Whether I loss any Rich Ajax specific fuctionalities? Is any rework in development is needed?
While Googling, I found, in JDeveloper 11g oracle prefers WEBLOGIC rather than OC4j. Can anyone advise the reason for this.
    Thanks,
    Prabhash.

    Hi John,
    Thanks for your valuable advise.
Can you advise is there any difference between OC4j and Oracle Application Server (OAS) . Is the Oracle App Server supports JSF 1.2 specification. While googling, the following link states that JDeveloper 11g supports OAS
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/11/as_supportmatrix.html#11g
    Thanks much

  • Problem while installing weblogic

    Hi Everyone,
can I install weblogic on a stand alone pc which does not have any lan connection or internet connections ?

Ahhh...now i get it. There are 2 options for downloading weblogic 1)WebLogic Platform Net Installer 2) WebLogic Server Package Installer. I guess u downloaded the first option what it does is that, it downloads the files from the BEA server and then installs the WLS on ur computer. You can just tell the difference between these two options in the file size. Use the package installer option and download the file and then install it. I hope i am clear. Refer to the following below site and you will know what i am talking about.

  • Problem installing weblogic server 8.11

I have a problem while installing weblogic server 8.11 on a solaris 9 machine.
I use the following instruction: ./filename.bin and I see the following message:
    Illegal instruction (memory dumped)
(in french: instruction incorrecte (vidage memoire))
A core file is generated but it doesn't help resolving this problem. It seems
to be talking about unzip, as I found things like this message in this file:
    error: cannot allocate unzip buffers
    unzipsfx: cannot find myself! [%s]
error [%s]: missing %ld bytes in zipfile
I also tryed to install weblogic server 8.10 and no core file is generated but
    I have the following message:
error [export/home/tleberre/net_server810_solaris32.bin]: missing 570 byes in
    zipfile
    (attempting to process anyway)
** Error during init, error code = 2.
I first thought the file I downloaded was incomplete, so I downloaded it again
but I still have the same problem. Can anyone help me? What have I forgotten to
    do?
    Thank you

Well, perhaps one thing you've forgotten is that it's better to write notes
about particular problems in the newsgroup or mailing list that is most
appropriate to the problem. If people who read this newsgroup only know about
the webserver, then they won't have any idea how to help you with installation
problems with WebLogic server, which this clearly is (the "webserver" is not
"WebLogic Server", but only part of the entire package).
Have you made an attempt to contact BEA support? It seems likely that your zip
    file is corrupt.

  • Not Enough Disk Space while installing WebLogic 6.1sp1 on AIX

While installing WebLogic Server I get the error message "Not Enough Disk Space"
for the root (/) file system, although I am trying to install it in the /weblogic
file system that has enough space for the installation.
What is that extra info that I need to pass to the installer so that installs
the server in /weblogic and not complain about lack of disk space in /.
The relevant properties for installation under silent mode are as listed below:
    ### BEA Home Directory
    BEAHOME=/weblogic/sftw
    ### Product Installation Directory
    USER_INSTALL_DIR=/weblogic/sftw/6.1
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi.
I believe the installation creates temporary files in the /tmp directory from root.
If that is part of your root file system then this may be the cause of your problem.
Try changing your environment variable TMPDIR or TMP_DIR. If you are doing the
silent install with the java command line try setting java.io.tmpdir to a different
    filesystem on the command line.
    Hope this helps,
    Michael

  • Installation error while installing weblogic 10.3.5 R1

while installing weblogic server(wls 10.3.5 R1) am getting the following error(this is the same error am getting while installing jdeveloper 11g), as am creating a new middleware home following error comes
the product maintanance level of the current installer (weblogic 10.3.5) is not compatible with the maintenance level of product installed on your system(wl 10.3.0). Please obtain the compatible installer or product maintainance on your current system to achieve the desired level.

It seems you have already installed wls 10.3.0 or somehow it exist in your system.
I suggest, uninstall the current Weblogic 10.3.0. And then reinstall 10.3.5 .
    try something like below
Choose Start > Programs > Oracle WebLogic > Uninstall Oracle WebLogic.
clean the middleware folder if anything exist -> restart the server and then start installation again for wls 10.3.5.

the weblogic server i downloaded from bea site its version is weblogic server 7.0 with jrockit (sp6)
    regards
    babu

    Hi,
first of all, unfortunately, WebLogic Server is not supported under Mandrivia (use the right name ;-) ), so you should use Novell Suse or Redhat AS, check this list
Anyway, error code 11 should be related to permission issues, so you should check that the user you are using is allowed to write under the installation directory and under /var/log/
Could you kindly post the log messages?
    Regards.

  • Facing problem in installing WebLogic 10.3.1 server

    Hi,
I want to install WebLogic Server 10.3.1, To install this I am using Oracle WebLogic Server 11g Rel 1 (10.3.1) Net Installer setup.
After running the setup, it is asking “to specify the location where the installer will place any downloaded archives”
I have specified the location for storage Directory, but after clicking next button its giving me an error as: “Failed to contact server”.
In the WebLogic Server 9.2 installation, it is not asking for this Storage location..directly the wizard will ask for the type of installation i.e whether ‘Complete’ or ‘Custom’ installation.
Can anyone tell me How to skip this step I don’t want to download the archive files or how to resolve this error.
    Thanks

Your question should have been posted in the weblogic server forum not to the weblogic portal one.
The net installer is a small initial download, which then connects to oracle servers to download the further required files when you do the actual selection of components and install it.
Instead of downloading the net installer, if you download the complete software then you will get the behaviour similar to your earlier installation experience with 9.2.
    Thanks
