Problem with HP LJ M177fw scan set up

I have done something that caused my printer to stop scanning & sending to my photo gallery with windows 7.
I am not computer smart.
I have used the HP Print & Scan Doctor ... I get the notice with 2 yellow triangles. .. one says.. ∆ WINDOWS (WIA) SCAN

This means I have done something that changed the printer from being able to scan & send to my PHOTO GALLERY in Windows 7 ... Can someone please give me advice a simple old man can understand to correct his mistake ... thanks to whom ever

I see that you are getting a WIA and a Twain error, when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor. I will certainly do my best to help you.
WIA drivers are part of Windows Operating System.
Run this Microsoft Fit It Tool to see if it will resolve this issue.
Diagnose and repair Windows File and Folder Problems automatically.
I have provided this document to check the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) services.
Windows: HP Scan Software Does Not Open or Scan on a Printer Using a USB Connection.
Disregard the title. Go to Solution three: Check the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) services.
Temporarily turn of the Antivirus Software and try scanning again.
If the issue persists, download and try to repair the WIA drivers. If you don't feel comfortable about doing these steps, you can contact the computer manufacturer or Microsoft to resolve this WIA error.
Back up the registry first.
How to back up and restore the registry in Windows.
Restore Default Startup Type for Windows Image Acquisition (WIA).
If you are still having issues, I would suggest to uninstall and reinstall the printer software.

    For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices. 
    That all works.
    It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now.  They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
    I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

    Have new desktop computer with Windows 8.When I connect my iPod to my computer to sync, I get the message – “There is a problem with this drive. Scan the drive now and fix it”. It is identifying the drive on the iPod as the problem. iPod works fine on my laptop computer and older desktop (both with Windows Vista). iTunes seems to momentarily recognize my iPod then it doesn't.  Any thoughts about a fix?

    i have some books of cf.
    i need to start on my tutorials
    however,
    they said the prereq is mx server
    home site,
    1. i did download mx 7 and chose mx developer edition.
    my problem is that when it is self configure. (the second
    option without apache or iis)
    it is reall taking a long time to configure 2hrs. i did not
    let it finish so i stopped the process.
    what am i doing wrong in the set up process.

  • Problem with iCloud and E-mail set-up

    I have been trying to set-up an iCloud e-mail account but keep getting the messages that it cannot set-up the account.
    Problems from the iCloud control provide the message that I should use the e-mail preferences to set-up the account, the e-mail preferences provides the message that I should set-up iCloud account. The iCloud account has been set-up and the apple ID works well with other applications.
    Not sure what the issue is?

    Go to system preferences > iCloud and uncheck Mail. Go to the Mail application and check that the account has disappeared, if not delete it. Go back to system preferences > iCloud and check mail.

  • Problem with JFMERGE using the last set of data on all form sets

    b Here is the scenario...
    I have a file of data in character delimited format. Each record needs to produce the same set of forms. I used the Visual Transformation Editor to define the field nominated data file, including the ^form statements. The transformation agent processes the file of multiple records just fine. I get a file from JFTRANS that contains the set of data & form statements repeated for each record in the file.
    Great so far.
    b Here is the problem...
    Unfortunately, the print agent is repeating the same set of data on every copy of the set of forms that is printed. It uses the data from the last set of forms to be printed.
    b Additional information...
    For ease of building the field nominated file by our custom client program we have standardized on using GLOBAL fields. Therefore, our DAT files contain all the ^global declarations with all the necessary ^form statements at the end. I used the transformation editor to build the same type of file. Therefore the file going to the print agent looks like:
    ^global name1
    data1
    ^global name2
    data2
    ^form form1
    ^form form2
    ^global name1
    newdata1
    ^global name2
    newdata2
    ^form form1
    ^form form2
    The printed result puts "newdata1" & "newdata2" on both sets of form2. Strangely, the correct data values are showing up on both sets of form1.
    The only difference between the two forms is that form1 is not defined with the fields as global where form2 does define them as global. I removed the global flag from form2 but that didn't change anything.
    I think I know what is occurring. JFMERGE is putting the data elements into the global dictionary and when the same name is in the file the latest data value ends up in the dictionary (thus all the forms print using the last data put into the dictionary). I certainly didn't expect this. I thought it would load the dictionary and print the first set of forms, then reload the dictionary and print the next set of forms. At least that is the way I see it occuring based on the order of things in the DAT file. Based on what is occuring it appears that JFMERGE reads the whole DAT file, building the dictionaries and then processes all the ^form statements.
    b My request for help...
    Does anyone know what I can do (such as insert some command) to get the correct data on the forms?
    It looks like using a fixed record format might do the trick but that isn't an option at this time. As things are right now it looks like I'm going to have to take the data file apart, and make lots of files with one line of data per file.
    I have a time deadline to get this printed so if there isn't a way to make JFMERGE operate as I expected it looks like I'll be doing this by hand. Fortunately, there are only 250-300 data lines. Future jobs could have thousands of data lines so if there isn't a way to do it with a multi-line data file I'll have someone create a program for splitting the original file up (and adding the ^job line).

    We don't use subforms so some of what you suggest isn't effective for us. Our forms are a duplication of the paper forms and are not dynamic. We design each form separately and our custom filler software (that builds the DAT file) uses a database with the required forms for each print job defined within it.<br /><br />Since we don't have subforms, our simple method of printing is to declare as GLOBAL all the unique fields used on all the forms to be printed followed by the ^form commands. It was a simple & straightforward method for us to do better than 500 print jobs over that past couple of years. In addition, our custom filler software can easily build the DAT files.<br /><br />Because I need to manually declare all the ^form statements my experience with using ^field is that the form must be declared followed by the appropriate field commands (repeat for all the forms).<br /><br />i <many hours later I continue typing this post><br /><br />Taking the original Transformation Definition File and customizing it for how things need to be when using ^field commands was a time consuming experience (and a learning one). It did the job as I needed but it is an experience I don't want to repeat. There has got to be a better way of building the TDF properly. I'm definately leaning towards a program to split the file into multiple files.<br /><br />Here is what I went through...<br /><br />I did all the editting using Notepad. I changed all ^global to ^field. Then I had to remove the #comment lines. Next was to find any references to fields that had to be global to the top and chang ^field to ^global. Then it was moving the fields around so they were underneath the appropriate ^form statement. Then, since one of the forms was multi-page I had to add the ^page command and sort the fields so they were under the correct page. That was followed by duplicating fields that are used on multiple forms or multiple pages. Then I discovered that the print agent won't do ^page unless "inline processing" is turned off (I did not want to specify the page name as it could change over time) - so I added "^inline off" in front of every ^page.   • Problems with recordset in PHP/MySQL setting

    We use Dreamweaver CS5 for creating dynamic pages (PHP pages with MySQL database). We test the site locally on a Windows 7 operating system with EasyPHP as WAMP server.
    We often have a problem in managing the record set.
    The following problem occurs quite often:
    We take a PHP page. We create a recordset. We use a dynamic table or a repeated region to show the results of the recordset. So far so good.
    Then we want to change something to the recordset for example the filter. When editing the recordset, the advanced mode is shown, it is impossible to swith to the simple mode.
    By deleting the recordset the problem is not solved. By deleting and afterwards rebuilding the recordset, syntax errors occur. It seems that the php code for building the recordset didn't dissapear.
    The only solutions till now seems to completely restart with a new PHP page.
    Anyone has a solution for this or anyone did experience the same problem ?

    You cannot switch to Simple mode in the Recordset dialog box if you have made any changes to the SQL in Advanced mode.
    Opening the Recordset dialog box to edit the settings does occasionally result in the code being inserted again instead of being changed. This appears to be an intermittent bug, which I have experienced myself, and know that others have complained about it, too. As far as I know, there is no solution other than to watch carefully the code that Dreamweaver generates.
    If you don't understand the code, you would be well advised to learn what it means and does. Relying on Dreamweaver to do everything for you severely limits what you can do with PHP/MySQL. Adobe regards the server behaviors as quick prototyping tools, rather than for developing production websites.

  • Problem with tools staying over scan screen

    I am finding that the tools box and tools panels stay on top of the scanning screen when I go to Import from device. This obliterates the scanning tools on the left hand side. It is really annoying and slows down the work so much. I cannot find how to keep them anchored down. Help please. This in only happening on 2 of my 3 computers and I cant see what is different about them.

    Hi there.. Thanks very much. I appreciate your help and advice. I have
    tried everything and it only works if I redock everything and revert to
    tabs etc before scanning. If I have any "floating" docs or palettes they
    stay over the scanning interface screen which refuses to come to the top. I
    had thought if I clicked on it it would come to the top, but no. This is
    such a pain on the Mac as I have got it (and spent a small fortune on new
    software) just to be able to work better in Photoshop. I am an illustrator
    and only use my own scanned work which I will combine etc so always work
    with several screens open and I like to move the palettes around to where I
    need them.
    Making the scanning interface screen smaller has helped a bit with the
    tools but floating working docs still stay on top. I feel I am missing
    something because I dont think this can be right? It slows down everything
    so much having to re dock everything.
    Anyway I much appreciate your time. Am I the only one who is having this
    problem?

  • Midi/browser playback problem with Audigy 2 platinum (Cannot set Default Device for some reas

    Currently I'm having problems playing back mid files in Mediaplayer and various other default programs. I can play midifiles in Winamp by setting it to the proper Directsound device. However in control panel/sound setup (MIDI music Playback), It only lists the MIDI Out Devices instead of the playback one and is defaulted on BLANK when I enter it. I have a feeling this is the main problem.
    DX Diag plays back the midi fine. I have tried reinstalling the latest drivers and the drivers from the disc with no luck at all. Also the default language has been stuck on Japanese as well.     Ok, well I did a clean sweep and clean reinstall of the drivers that fixed my language problem. However I cannot get the proper "Midi music playback" Default Device. Whenever I change it to something it reverts it to a blank no matter how many times I change it or uncheck "Use only default devices"
    It does the exact same thing for "Voice playback"
    I'm not sure if this is related but I don't get any sound from any web-browser Shockwave flash files.
    This is really starting to get fustrating. Any help input would be greatly appreciated. I think the worst part about this is I know the midi works, it just won't let me assign the device....
    Oh yeah, also even if I set the "place volume icon in taskbar" option in the sound and devices properties it wll not show. Not sure if this is related...Message Edited by zoglog on 06-23-2006 :44 PM

  • 2 questions--I've tried the cookies/cache thing but when I try to register a site, it still says I have a problem with my cache and cookies setting, and my icons for tools, etc has disappeared from my tool bar, how do I get them back?

    I did the self help to set private settings, delete cookies and no tracking of my visited website, and delete history...but when I try to register on a site to send them emails (comments) i keep getting sent back to an error page that my cache/cookie settings are not right!!! and then the icons for my "tools", etc that were on the upper right of my toolbar have disappeared and I want them back...where did they go and I can't find any help on the help menus to solve any of these issues..it's aggravating.

  • Problems with POP account passwords after setting up iPhone

    I bought and installed an iPhone yesterday.
    I run a .mac and 5 POP email accounts. All were set up smoothly and work perfectly on the iPhone.
    Email client is Apple Mail.
    Since then the Apple Mail client is having difficulty retrieving mail. For all the POP accounts I am getting a password challenge response dialogue box asking for password.
    I have tried re-entering them all incase the Keychain change to allow the iPhone access had corrupted them, but no difference.
    If I can press Cancel on the dialogue box the account is set to offline by the Mail client. If however I persist with the Get Mail it will retrieve mail successfully without challenging password. I would say 8 times out of 10 it will challenge, the other 2 times it will retrieve normally.
    Has anybody got suggestions/experience of this behaviour?

    The incoming mail server for most POP accounts don't like or support two email clients on the same computer or on different devices accessing the incoming mail server at the same time.
    I have a business POP account that I access with the Mail.app on my Mac and with the iPhone's email client and the account will eventually go offline with the Mail.app when using the iPhone to access the account at the same time.
    This isn't an issue with an IMAP account and a .Mac type account with the Mail.app is really an IMAP account and behaves in the same way.
