Problem with keycode

Hi,
I've had a long running problem with my keycode in Xcelsius 2008.  I've tried various things suggested by my supplier, but nothing seems to work.  I thought I'd try here to see if anyone else can help.  The details are:
We are running Windows XP Pro SP3.  I had Crystal Reports XI installed.  We purchased Crystal Reports 2008 Visual Advantage, and were issued with a single keycode.  When we installed Crystal Reports 2008 using the keycode, everything was fine.  When we installed Xcelsius 2008 we used the same keycode, but the program seemed to bee in a trial version state (i.e. all the save options / most of the export options are greyed out).
We have changed the permissions on the registry to ensure that all users have full control in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 12.0.
We have removed the keycode from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Xcelsius\Keycodes and restarted the application and entered the keycode when prompted.
We have removed the keycode from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Xcelsius\Keycodes and entered the keycode directly into the registry.
None of the above actions have helped (we have tried them all repeatedly in various orders).  I've had this software for about a year now, but am not able to use it.  I am getting more than a little frustrated.
Can anyone offer any advice or help?

Thank you for the very quick reply.
When I look at the export tool bar I only have "Send to Adobe Acrobat PDF" enabled ("Send to PowerPoint", "Send to Microsoft Word", "Attach the SWF in Outlook" and "Export to Business Objects Platform" are all disabled).
When I look at the standard toolbar "Save" and "Print the SWL file" are greyed out.
When I look at the "File" drop down menu, the following items are greyed out:
Save
Save As...
Save To Enterprise
Page Setup...
Print...
Print Preview
When I look at the "Export" submenu, the following items are greyed out:
HTML...
Business Objects Platform...
PowerPoint Slide...
Outlook
Word...
When I look at the "Snapshot" submeu, all items are greyed out.
Because I have never used the software before, I'm not sure what should be enabled / disabled when looking at the menus, but I should be able to save shouldn't I?
I believe I have Flash Player version 9,0,124,0 installed.  Will this be causing a problem?
Also, just to clarify.  We bought 2 copies of the software for 2 different computers.  They both have the same problem.

  • Problem with repaint of display after a click event

    Hi,
    I have a problem with repaint of display. In particular in method keyPressed() i inserted a statement that, after i clicked bottom 2 of phone, must draw a string. But this string doesn't drawing.
    Instead if i reduce to icon the window, which emulate my application, and then i enlarge it, i see display repainted with the string.
    I don't know why.
    Any suggestions?

  • Problem with custom control and focus

    I've a problem with the focus in a custom control that contains a TextField and some custom nodes.
    If i create a form with some of these custom controls i'm not able to navigate through these fields by using the TAB key.
    I've implemented a KeyEvent listener on the custom control and was able to grab the focus and forward it to the embedded TextField by calling requestFocus() on the TextField but the problem is that the TextField won't get rid of the focus anymore. Means if i press TAB the first embedded TextField will get the focus, after pressing TAB again the embedded TextField in the next custom control will get the focus AND the former focused TextField still got the focus!?
    So i'm not able to remove the focus from an embeded TextField.
    Any idea how to do this ?

  • Keyboard mapping problem with sunstudio

    I'm a new sunstudio user and am having trouble with a setup issue. When I run sunstudio 11 from a sunray with a Sun keyboard all works fine (except the sunray has far too small of screen and it drive me crazy). When I run with my linux desktop being the x-server then none of the special keys (home, end, arrows, backbspace, enter, etc.) work correctly in sunstudio. All other gui apps I've tried (gedit, gvim, staroffice, web browser, etc.) work fine from my linux/pc keyboard.
    Using google I discovered xev. It shows the keycode and keysym that is interpreted for each keyboard stroke. When I compare the output from my linux/pc keyboard vs. the sun keyboard connected to the sunray I see the expected differences in keycode, but the keysym and resulting interpretation (e.g. BACKSPACE) is the same. Yet sunstudio ignores any keystroke except normal alphabet characters that come from my linux/pc keyboard.
    When using my linux/pc keyboard I'm in one of two configs (both act the same):
    - ssh -X hostname
    OR
    - Xephyr :1 -screen 1250x975 -query hostname &

    There is a known problem related to control keys in the netbeans GUI.

    It's hard to tell from your message where the programs are
    executing from.
    Run two X programs next to each other, running on the same machine,
    and displaying to the same X server. Verify that one of them can see
    ALT keys (for example) and the other one can't. Then you know it's
    a problem with the application program, and not due to your keyboard.
    The Sun Studio IDE has no idea what physical keyboard you're using.
    It only sees the keysyms from the X server.

  • Problem with Trial License

    Hi,
    I installed the 60-Day-Trial of Crystal Reports Enterprise 2008 Server. All Services worked fine for the first few days.
    Now i cannot upload new reports, so I started the diagnosis tool. It seemed that there is a problem with my license key.
    I checked the license key in cmc:
    There is an empty page, there is no license key appearing.
    How can i reactivate my licensce?
    For your information: I have installed an apache 5.5.

    Is it possible that the key is only valid in combination with the version? maybe i installed an update or patch and this update increased the version, so that my key is not valid any more.
    I tried to start the registration wizard ("C:\Programme\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86\regwiz.exe" HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Enterprise\Keycode)
    Then the message "Valid license key can not be obtained" is displayed. Maybe this is helpful for you to have an idea for solving my problem.
    Which log-file must be viewed to watch the errors appearing in the cmd-license-section? Maybe there is a detailed message, which is not displayed in the cmc-window.

  • Problem with traverse method

    Hi, I am having this problem:
    I made a CustomItem, a TextField, now I overloaded the traverse method, so if the keycode is Canvas.UP or Canvas.DOWN then return false else return true.
    The problem is that when I press the left or rigth button it also returns false and not true.
    and there is another problem with traverse, before returning false or true I set a boolean and call to repaint to draw it on some way if its selected or not, the paint method is being called but it just dont draw as desired.

  • Crystal 11 - Latest Service Pack loaded - problem with Kyocera printer

    We are using Crystal 11 Report Writer, and Sage ACCPAC.  Since Upgrading our ACCPAC all the crystal reports that ACCPAC utilises are coming up as garbage on the preview screen.  I have ruled out a sage issue by opening crystal directly and opening the respective report, the garbage still appears, if I change the printer that it is set to then the report appears fine.
    The printer is a Kyocera  -  fs-c8026n   the driver is a Kyocera Mita extended Driver.
    Any other printer is fine - so I am looking for anyone who has had problems with a Kyocera printing garbage.
    I have loaded the latest service pack for Crystal.
    Can anyone please help - apologies if I have put this on the incorrect forum

    Hi Jim,
    You can upgrade to CR XI R2 for free by downlaoding the trial version, install using your XI keycode and then getting a keycode for XI R2 to enable all features.
    Or to upgrade XI only then install the latest service pack will bring you up to date.

It works fine, but for example: when i walk up(w) en press then (a) to walk diagonal across the screen the sprite hangs for an moment. before it actualy does go diagonal across the screen. How can i get this movement without any hanging?

    Anyway, execute the code within the keyPressed code, it's much easier. Believe me, I know. And the code won't repeat itself if you don't have the keyRelease code. And I have the same problem with the sprite hanging, it's just the way the code executes. I tried to find a way around it, but with no luck. I hope my revision of your code helps some.

  • A problem with threads

    I am trying to implement some kind of a server listening for requests. The listener part of the app, is a daemon thread that listens for connections and instantiates a handling daemon thread once it gets some. However, my problem is that i must be able to kill the listening thread at the user's will (say via a sto button). I have done this via the Sun's proposed way, by testing a boolean flag in the loop, which is set to false when i wish to kill the thread. The problem with this thing is the following...
    Once the thread starts excecuting, it will test the flag, find it true and enter the loop. At some point it will LOCK on the server socket waiting for connection. Unless some client actually connects, it will keep on listening indefinatelly whithought ever bothering to check for the flag again (no matter how many times you set the damn thing to false).
    My question is this: Is there any real, non-theoretical, applied way to stop thread in java safely?

  • Problem with Threads and a static variable

    I have a problem with the code below. I am yet to make sure that I understand the problem. Correct me if I am wrong please.
    Code functionality:
    A timer calls SetState every second. It sets the state and sets boolean variable "changed" to true. Then notifies a main process thread to check if the state changed to send a message.
    The problem as far I understand is:
    Assume the timer Thread calls SetState twice before the main process Thread runs. As a result, "changed" is set to true twice. However, since the main process is blocked twice during the two calls to SetState, when it runs it would have the two SetState timer threads blocked on its synchronized body. It will pass the first one, send the message and set "changed" to false since it was true. Now, it will pass the second thread, but here is the problem, "changed" is already set to false. As a result, it won't send the message even though it is supposed to.
    Would you please let me know if my understanding is correct? If so, what would you propose to resolve the problem? Should I call wait some other or should I notify in a different way?

    Thanks DrClap for your reply. Everything you said is right. It is not easy to make them alternate since SetState() could be called from different places where the state could be anything else but a status message. Like a GREETING message for example. It is a handshaking message but not a status message.
    Again as you said, There is a reason I can't call sendMessage() inside setState().
    The only way I was able to do it is by having a counter of the number of notifies that have been called. Every time notify() is called a counter is incremented. Now instead of just checking if "changed" flag is true, I also check if notify counter is greater than zero. If both true, I send the message. If "changed" flag is false, I check again if the notify counter is greater than zero, I send the message. This way it works, but it is kind of a patch than a good design fix. I am yet to find a good solution.

  • Problem with threads running javaw

    Hi,
    Having a problem with multi thread programming using client server sockets. The program works find when starting the the application in a console using java muti.java , but when using javaw multi.java the program doesnt die and have to kill it in the task manager. The program doesnt display any of my gui error messages either when the server disconnect the client. all works find in a console. any advice on this as I havent been able to understand why this is happening? any comment would be appreciated.

    error and standard output streams to file.

    I've a problem with taking snapshot.
    I would like to display a loading screen after it take snapshot ( sometimes i
    have to wait few seconds after i took snapshot. Propably photo is being taken in time where i have to wait).

  • Problem with threads hanging

    We have a problem where our application stops responding after a few days of usage. Things will for fine for a day or two, and then pretty quickly threads will start getting hung up, usually in places where they are allocating memory
    We are running WebLogic 8.1 SP2 on Sun JDK 1.4.2_04 on Solaris 8 using the alternate threading model and the -server hotspot vm. We are running pretty much the same code that we had no problems with under WebLogic 6.1 SP4 and Sun JDK 1.3.1.
    A thread dump usually shows that some or all of our execute threads are in the state "waiting for monitor entry" even though they are not currently waiting on any java locks. Here is a sample thread from the thread dump (we have ~120 threads so I don't want to post the full dump).

    Has anyone ever seen anything like this? I'm trying to figure out if this is caused by something we're doing, or something relating to our environment and jvm options. Any ideas?

    Thanks for the reply - I'm testing our app with the +UseConcMarkSweepGC now in our test environment to make sure it doesn't cause any problems there.  Unfortunately the only place we've had this problem is on the production server, so it's extra difficult debugging this. 
    We're using the following memory options:
    -ms512m -mx512m -XX:NewSize=128m -XX:PermSize=192m -XX:MaxNewSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=192m -XX:SurvivorRatio=8and the following debugging options, as we've also been seeing OutOfMemoryErrors ( see http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=37&thread=522354&tstart=45&trange=15 )
    -verbosegc -XX:+PrintGCDetails -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -XX:+PrintHeapAtGCBTW, which c++filt version and options are you using? Our Solaris boxes only seem to have the GNU version installed. I was trying to run that on some of the other stack traces and wasn't getting anywhere, and didn't know if because it was GNU version wouldn't work on something compiled with the Sun compiler.

    I have a little problem with a thread and a ProgressMonitor. I have a long time process that runs in a thread (the thread is in an separate class). The thread has a ProgressMonitor that works fine and shows the tasks progress.
    But I need deactivate the main class(the main class is the user interface) until the thread ends.
    I use something like this:

    myTask.start();
    myTask.join();
    Now, the main class waits for the task to end, but the progress monitor don`t works fine: it shows only the dialog but not the progress bar.
    What's wrong?

    Is the dialog a modal dialog? This can block other UI updates.
    In general, you should make sure that it isn't modal, and that your workThread has a fairly low priority so that the UI can do its updating
