Problem with Locales....???

Users of my application have there first locale set to en-gb. Thus dates within the application are displayed in the English format. (e.g. 14-Mar-2007)
The exception is that when generating a report ( a report is basically a document created on the fly using a template and data in my database at that current time), the swedish date format is used as part of the automatically generated document title and within dates in the report itself. How can this be? any ideas?

i did a little test.
therefore i created a simple text file and wrote each original sign read from the xml to that file. afterwards i opend the file and found the following content:

the first view signs are working but than it breaks. i also tried to use the older getNodeValue() method instead of the newer getTextContent() but without any success.

Problem with local editing after update to SP13

Hallo,
we have updated our Enterprise Portla 7.00 to SP13. Now many user have Problem with local editing. The error message is "The download of the document fail".
I know that every PC needs the "Docservice" Active X component installed. The "Docservice" is also installed.
At my PC theres only this problem with "html" documents.
What could be the problem. ?

We found that there is a problem with the Docservice Active X Component.
If we work in a deeper folder there is a problem with the length of the url. I changed the TEMP Setting
"Setting a different TEMP directory:
In cases that it is problematic to use the standard %TEMP% directory,
setting the environment variable SAPKM_USER_TEMP pinpointing to a
corresponding directory path (e.g.
X:\SHARES\USERS\xxx\CheckedOutDocuments) will be also supported. If the
access to that directory fails the standard %TEMP% directory will be
used as fallback."
I used "C:\TEMP" and now it works....... but this cant be the solution....

Problem with Local Intranet in IE 11

Hi
We are experiencing a strange problem with Local Intranet in IE 11. We have a public company site which has been put into the Local Intranet site. The site contains content from 3 internal sites, which of course are part of Local Intranet per default.
Sometimes when I refresh the public company site I receive a security warning because IE says it's between zones.
Why? :-)
Might this be an issue because the 3 internal sites aren't hardcoded into Local Intranet through policy?

Problem with Local DCs View in NWDS 7.0

Hi,
This is due to some files missed in Local development.
Let me know Are you able to see .confdef, .syncdb and buildvariant.config files under Local Developement.
If you are not able to see, UnInstall your NWDS, Remove Local developement under .dtc folder, then Re-Install NWDS.

Your setup might be incomplete: The SAR file extraction creates very long paths on your filesystem. If you do not extract to the rootfolder of disk, chances are the paths become too long and the installation exits, without any warning.
If this is not the cause of your problem, check if the .dcdef files for the local DCs (plugin com.sap.tc.ap if I'm correct) were copied during installation.

Printing Problem with Local printer

Hi Experts,
My clients has installed new HP LaserJet p2015dn printer in SAP.
I have used the font "HELVE" in my sap script, when i take the printout with HP leser jet 1022N it gives correct printout. where as when i take the printout with local (HP LaserJet p2015dn) Printer it give the printout in unreadbale format (no spaces between each alphabet)
I can change the font and solve this proble but i have used same font in many forms and the client wish to take the printout with newly installed printer only.

Problem with Local Interfaces (WSAD 5)

I built an Entity Bean with Local Interface and a Remote Interface (apperently they both have the same JNDI name in WSAD)
and when I look up for the name from other Session Bean (same EJB group) and I try to cast it to the local interface there is a classCastException.............

I had the same problems as you that went away. If you have both remote and local interfaces defined, and your remote inerface can be accessed via JNDI lookup using (say) "ejb/sessionbean/stateless/HelloHome", then you can access the local intercafe using "local:ejb/ejb/sessionbean/stateless/HelloHome".
The URL http://localhost:9080/UTC/initialize?port=2809 is very useful to browse the JNDI tree. Just expand "Local EJB beans" and position your mouse over the item of interest. The JNDI lookup name will echo in the bottom (solid) frame of the browser. The only problem is that the jndilookup name will appear (mistakenly) as local:/ejb/ejb/stateless......, just get rid of the first forward-slash to make it look like local:ejb/ejb/stateless....

after I change the Home and Local interface I get a message when compiling saying that the bean has to implement the inherited abstract method javax.ejb.EJBLocalObject.isIdentical (EJBLOcalObject) and the mothd isPrimaryKey()...why is that, do I need to implement these methods?

ASR9000 100G-SR with ONS-15454 100G-LC-C - problem with local SR connection

I need help with 100G IPoDWDM with ASR9000 ( DWDM bundle )
We have simple setup
ASR9000 -----100G-SR------ONS15454-------DirectFiber with attenuation ( using 1560,20 ) ------- ONS15454-----100G-SR------- ASR9000.
This is lab setup but in the future with will work as alien lambda (1560,20 ) for customer MUX/DEMUX.
But now we have just direct fiber patchcords with attenution in the LAB.
I have problem with 100G-SR optics with MPO cable - links between ASR9000s and ONS15454s never up.
Loop connection ( just for test ) with MPO cable between two asr9000 100G interface working well – link is up.(I can ping)
I can’t make link UP in any way with ONS15454 100G transponder card ( with 100G SR optics ) connected to asr9000 100G port.
DWDM side optics works well I see TX/RX power and other statistic – all are green.
I am sending and receving OTN string so this hopefuly working well.
I provisioned "Provisionable Patchcord" between both ONS15454 chassis and both 100G cards trunk port ( is green in CTC )
I made Circuit OTHCC between 100G cards 100G Ethernet client port on both side.
Still I don't see any RX/TX power on 100G side ( on any LANE in SR Optics )
Please share you experience with running up such configuration ?
Anybody had problem with 100-SR Optics ?
Any tricky part in this configuration ?

To rull out the faulty part I have made
- changed MPO cables
- changed SR optics in ONS and also CFP in asr9000 ( I have few such boxes )
- changed 100G cards and also diferrent ports on asr9000
- changed ONS chasiss and also ONS 100G Transpoder card

- Try create OCHCC not 100G, try use OTU4 may be it will helpful. And what is the status of ASR 9k port in CTC( I mean in CTC network view and choose Show Router Port Status > rack/slot/module/port.)
- Are circuit up inside DWDM network? Try to make photonic test in Properties of OCH-Trail. May be you didn't Lanch ANS or problem inside network.
- Also Try generate traffic! not ping.

Problem with Local File Identification in RFC

Dear all,
We are working on a scenario where we have to integrate an external application with SAP system. The external application would use SAP DMS as document repository; It will send us a local file path and we have to upload the document located in that path as an attachment to a DMS Document Info Record. We have designed a wrapper RFC for this purpose, which encapsulates the standard Fm BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2. This BAPI takes a file path input under table parameter DOCUMENTFILES. Problem is, when we are running the RFC from SAP GUI, the document info record is created correctly with the document as attachment, but when we invoke the RFC from the external application, the process fails and we get an error message stating:"Error while checking in Original Files". We debugged the scenario and found out that, while running under SAP GUI, the BAPI is able to identify a GUI Link, and hence succeeds; but while calling from the external application, the BAPI fails to find a GUI Link, tries to start a FTP Server using RFC Destination SAPFTP, and fails. So, obviously, the BAPI is not able to parse the local file path because of non-existence of GUI Link. So,in this regard, my question is: is there no way that we can pass a local file path from an external application to SAP, and get the same identified and get the document uploaded? Is there any alternative to our approach?

Solved the problem by:
Converting file content to binary->transferring binary content to a wrapper RFC->writing the content into a temporary file in application server->then calling BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2 to create the document without attachment->then calling CVAPI_DOC_CHECKIN to checkin the temporay file from application server.

Problem with local class, static private attribute and public method

Hello SDN,
Consider the following situation:
1) I have defined a LOCAL class airplane.
2) This class has a private static attribute "type table of ref to" airplane (array of airplanes)
3) A public method should return the private static table attribute
Problems:
a) The table cannot be given as an EXPORTING parameter in the method because TYPE TABLE OF... is not supported and I get syntax errors. I also cannot define a dictionary table type because it is a local class.
b) The table cannot be given as a TABLES parameter in the method because TABLES is not supported in the OO context.
c) The table cannot be given as an EXPORTING parameter in the method defined as LIKE myStaticAttribute because my method is PUBLIC and my attribute is PRIVATE. ABAP syntax requires that all PUBLIC statements are defined before PRIVATE ones, therefore it cannot find the attribute to reference to with LIKE.
I see only 2 solutions:
a) Never ever use local classes and always use global classes so that I might define a dictionary table type of my class which I can then use in my class.
b) Make the attribute public, but this goes against OO principles, and isn't really an option.
Am I missing anything here, or is this simply overlooked so far?

Since your class is local and, thus, only know to the "surrounding" application is does not really make sense to make it public to any other application.
However, if you require to store instances of your local classes in internal tables simply use the most generic reference type possible, i.e. OBJECT.

What am I doing wrong?

I'm not sure, but your script may be too old. That is, it may no longer work.
I believe that creating a local mirror is discouraged due to the high bandwidth needed to do that.
Perhaps you could try this instead.

Problem with local SAP name inside ABAP webservice

I've created a simple webservice in our SAP development machine, with the normal steps (create RFC, then generated the webservice inside SE38, then activated webservice in SOAMANAGER).
The problem is that when I call the webservice from outside (external .NET program) I get the following error:
There was no endpoint listening at http://srv.devm2.local:8004/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/zwebservice1/060/zwebservice1/zwebservice1 that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details.
I believe this problem is related somehow with the internal srv.devm2.local SAP name that is unknown from outside.
If I open the WSDL definition, in the end I can find this internal srv.devm2.local reference of our SAP DEV server:

I meant changing it in the calling application (external .NET). Can you not download the wsdl to your pc and change it there manually and then use this local wsdl in your external application to call the webservice ?
It is just to see if the sap name is the problem. If that is the problem then it should work if you replace the name with the IP address.
If this works then maybe basis need to adjust some settings (firewall ?, access authorizations ?)
Also are you sure the service is activated in SOAMANAGER ? Sometimes when you save it stays inactive and it does not give you a clear error message, easy to overlook.
And try to call the webservice with SOAPUI and the wsdl from soamanager. Does that work ? When I test with SOAPUI I always use the http port and don't forget to fill in user and password.
If soapui call works, then the problem is with the external .NET application.

Problem with local warranty service station

I took my Satellite P505 in to a local warranty shop to repair a power problem which turned out to be a connector on the main board. I also mentioned that with some, not all, CDs or DVDs, the drive door would not latch without slamming it shut several times. When I received it back, the power problem had been resolved but my brand new 3 week old computer now sports a large scratch on the lid. The tech also said he wasn't able to duplicate the optical drive problem.
I would obviously like to maintain a good relationship with the shop since I can get my computer back in a week or less, but I feel if I confront them about the scratch that they will simply say that they didn't do it. Of course I can't prove it but the case was in pristine condition when I dropped it off in the factory box. I also don't feel the tech checked the drive thouroughly since it exhibited the same problem when I got it home. It latches fine with no disc inserted but of course that's not the way it was intended to be used. Eventually, the latch or some other component is going to fail and I will be blamed for abusung it by slamming it.
From what I've seen, Toshiba customer service at the factory is terrible as well. I've seen stories on this forum very similar to mine in that regard, especially as far as scratching the case is involved.
Can someone give me some options to resolve this at the local level...i.e. what is a good way to approach them? Should I talk to the Store manager about it? The tech? Toshiba? I want to do something within a reasonable amount of time.

I meant changing it in the calling application (external .NET). Can you not download the wsdl to your pc and change it there manually and then use this local wsdl in your external application to call the webservice ?
It is just to see if the sap name is the problem. If that is the problem then it should work if you replace the name with the IP address.
If this works then maybe basis need to adjust some settings (firewall ?, access authorizations ?)
Also are you sure the service is activated in SOAMANAGER ? Sometimes when you save it stays inactive and it does not give you a clear error message, easy to overlook.
And try to call the webservice with SOAPUI and the wsdl from soamanager. Does that work ? When I test with SOAPUI I always use the http port and don't forget to fill in user and password.
If soapui call works, then the problem is with the external .NET application.

Problem with local users printing to the printer queue

We have just upgraded our servers to 2.8GHz Quad-core Intel Xeon which is running OS X 10.5.6
I have set up the printer queue to the network printers, through LPD.
Open directory users are able to print to the network printers without any problem however when a user local user to a machine (all 10.5.6 but different models) are not able to print.
The printer pauses and does not print.
Any solutions?

I am not quite sure of your setup based on your posting so apologies if my reply is not appropriate.
Are you saying that when the Mac attempts to print directly to the network printer (rather than via a queue created by selecting an Open Directory printer) the printer queue pauses?
If yes, then I would ensure that the LPD protocol was selected and the correct queue name was entered - as this can often cause the spooler to pause.
