Problem with Notifications on Create User/ Change User Password

Hello,
I'm having a problem sending emails to users when an account is created in OIM.
I added a notification to the user and user's manager on the Create User task in the Xellerate User process definition but the emails are not being sent.
I know that if I create another task with the purpose of sending emails and invoke it through the response in the Create User task, it will work.
My aim is to avoid adding tasks for something OIM should be able to do OOTB.
I'm also unable to send an email when a password is updated.. I did the same thing as for the Create User and I know the task (Change User Password) is being invoked by looking at the logs but the emails aren't being sent.
Has anyone ran into such problems?
I'm having these problems in the Xellerate User process task.. i've added notifications in other process tasks (mainly approval tasks) and they are working fine.

I am just confuse with your response.Have you added the "Password Updated" task in xellerate user provisioning process?
Now if you changing password in OIM profile it will trigger "Change User Password" task not the "Password Updated" task and even if you add "Password Updated" task on Xellerate User provisioning task you can't see this task in Resource Details.
Now assume if you added your notification on "Password Updated" task of any resource which user is provisioned to even then when you change oim password it only trigger "Change User Password" task.So try to have your notification on "Change User Password" task.
Please clarify so that I can response correctly.

    Nope.  Turns out that even though I have two Macs running 10.9.4, the one in question doesn't get the SMTP settings changed by iCloud settings when the password is changed, so I had to "Edit" the account in Mail, plow down to the password settings for the Apple SMTP server, and change the password myself.  Nothing in the System Preferences iCloud setting tab lets you change any settings on the local machine.  Apple is sure they are controlling everything when you make changes in iCloud, but they are wrong.  Identical versions of 10.9.4 are configured differently on two different Macs.

                            It was  due to plugin we had problem , it was not allowing to do any changes  in user master records .no one could able to do anything but then we got some correction transport request  containing correction to that after importing that transport request it solved the problem.

    There is a procedure for changing the feed URL for a podcast, which it seems you haven't followed: you have to add a special tag to the old feed - just submitting a new feed will have exactly the effect you describe. The proper method is described here:

    indicates there is a missing library on your system. What problems were you having before that caused you to delete Safari? How did you delete it?
    You're best bet in this case is to re-install the OS. While doing a re-install will not normally harm your user data having a good working backup in cases like this is essential.

    Thanks for the question. You'll want to delete and re-add your iCloud account (utilizing the new Apple ID address). When prompted, opt to keep as much information on your device as possible. The following article provides information on how to do so:

  • Problems with a certain program for existing users

    We have problems with a third party software application. We have installed this software program on a terminal server (server 2003 32bit) and when we open this software with a existing user account the application crashes with the following entry in the
    eventviewer:
    Application Error 100
    Faulting application ProTime.exe, version 4.1.0.9, faulting module msvbvm60.dll, version 6.0.97.82, fault address 0x000fd0d9.

    We have checked the eventlog on the server but the only error that we see is the application error 100 when we open the program. Also we checked the rights on the program's database and folders but that doesn't help either.
    The last thing we did was;
    - Installing the software on a brand new virtual server with server 2003 x86 (no other software installed)
    - Installing the software on a new virtual machine with server 2008 r2 x64 (no other software installed)
    The strange thing is when we change something in the compatibility mode setting for example run as windows xp then we can run the program just fine but when the user logs off and log on again it doesn't work until you change something at the compatibility
    mode setting (doesn't mather which setting)
    When we create a new domain user then the software works properly without any settings changed.
    Any idea what could cause this problem?

    Hi Jesper,
    Sorry for the late response. We think so, atleast the software company says it is.
    We should not use the compat. mode because the application is not working on server 2003 x86, server 2003 x64, server 2008 r2.
    It is just really strange. Software company has no clue how to fix this problem and they say it is caused by the active directory because when we add a new user then the application starts properly. User accounts created a long time ago are not able to start
    the application.

    I want to provide my users with a page where they can change their password. I thought that I could just use the one from the system application (changepw.htm). But it doesn't feature the design2003 and my application has to have a consistent look and feel.
    So I copied it and tried to get it working but that wasn't possible because it relies on an application class which I can't get working (it relies on the IF_BSP_APPLICATION_EVENTS) because I don't want to use it as a general application-class and so some methods will not be called.
    It seems that the only choice left is to start my own site which will reuse most of the code from the system application class. But before I start reinventing the wheel I would like to know: How have you implemented this functionality?

    My approach was the following. I created a new controller and a new view for the password site. Then I extracted all the useful methods from the CL_BSP_LOGIN_APPLICATION class and put it in my controller class. I recycled all the translation stuff so that the page is available in different languages and I also used a lot code from the CHANGE_PW_PROCESSING method. I think it took me nearly a day to get everything working. The most annoying part was testing it because our sap system didn't allow you to change your password twice a day so I had to use lots of test user accounts
    Regarding your other question. I have never worked with the BW but from a technical standpoint I am sure that it's possible to change your password when https/SSO is not enabled. But I would never allow my users to change their password when they are not using https.

    You can use an event handler for this.
    Write your own code as a plugin for the event handler (refer to the developers guide for details on event handlers) then you can reference this from your custom event handler XML configuration with operation "CHANGE_PASSWORD"
    e.g.
    <action-handler class="<CLASS NAME>" entity-type="User" operation="CHANGE_PASSWORD" name="<EVENT HANDLER NAME>" stage="postprocess" sync="TRUE" order="2000" />
    The action "RESET_PASSWORD" is also available for administrator change.

    My computer had been running really slowly for a while, so I decided to erase the whole hard drive and reinstall the operating system, and then I was going to restore the files I cared about from Time Machine. The main account, which had all my documents and photos, was FileVault-protected. The last thing I did before erasing the hard drive was to run one last Time Machine backup. As far as I remember, I always ran Time Machine backups with the FileVaulted user logged in.
    I don't remember whether I was using FileVault 1 or 2. I had been using FileVault 1, but I installed Lion as soon as it came out and I thought I had migrated to FileVault 2 at that point.
    Once I erased the hard drive and reinstalled the operating system, I browsed the Time Machine disk and, within the Users folder, there was no folder for the main user account. When I tried to reinstall everything by restoring from Time Machine backup, I'd get the option for all the user accounts, but when I tried to log in with the main one I'd get the dreaded "You are unable to log in to the FileVault user account "User" at this time. Log in failed because an error occurred." Finally, when attempting to restore from the Time Machine backup again, I noticed something strange: After the computer got to about 10% done restoring, it declared itself completed successfully and rebooted.
    I've tried a number of tips that came up from questions about similar issues on the Apple support forum, but had no luck. Is there any way to get these files back? Did they ever even get backed up?

    Did you have only the one user account? If there were others, they should also be in the "Users" folder. You probably won't have access to the files inside them, but they should be there.
    From what can make out, it looks like it's not backed up any of the files for the filevault account. Can't see user folder when looking through previous backups in Time Machine galaxy view.
    Are you doing that from a Finder window set to your internal HD, or your computer name? It should look something like this (with the Finder in List view):

    I'd been logging out and backing up manually on a regular basis.
    Scheduled backups should run normally; but they won't back up the File Vault sparse bundle, nor will any run manually.
    The only time it's backed-up is when you actually log out.
    You should have seen this window on logout:

    If you didn't see the second one, or cancelled it, the account wasn't backed-up.

  • Problem when trying  to create a new user

    Hi experts!!
    I am working on EP 7.0  ABAP & JAVA stack, so the UME datasource is the R3_DATASOURCE.
    When i try to create to create a new user from the portal i get the following message:
    Current user has user creation permissions in the UME, but cannot create users in the back-end system (data source). The original and possibly untranslated message was: "No active writeable datasource found for user creation, check your Persistence Configuration.".
    But i am actually able to create users to the ABAP client.
    Any ideas???

    The file dataSourceConfiguration_abap.xml enables you to create users only in the ABAP system. Once the UME is configured to use the AS ABAP as a data source, you cannot create users in the database of the AS Java; though you can still delete and edit existing users. ABAP roles determine your write access to the ABAP user management. If you have read-only access, you cannot create any users. The UME does not default to creating users in the local database of the AS Java. Nor can you edit or delete users in the AS ABAP without read-write access.
