I'm struggling with the SQL installation. It's failing while trying to install database engine services with the following error:

Error seems strange and points to Performance counterexception. Can you manually rebuild performance counter using below Support link

After that remove failed installation completely from add remove program and then install a fresh instance. Always make sure account used to install SQL server is member of local windows admin. And always Right click on Setup file and select run ad administrator
to start the installation

When you setup the wireless and ethernet in the computer.. ipv6 will be on automatic.. this is wrong for the latest TC firmware and airport utility. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4597
Go to the wireless and ethernet setup in preferences and change ipv6 to link local.
Once you do the big backup by ethernet the wireless will function fine for incremental.. it is obviously not estimating the size correctly..
A full back-up on the iMac would be about 650 GB. The partial updates that I have been trying start out at 115MB and keep growing indefinitely. The original back-up never finished nor have any of the follow-up attempts.
The first estimate should be the full backup but it will keep growing as the backup advances.. I would also delete any inprogress files to make sure it is not messing up .. delete even a sparsebundle if there is one for the imac on the TC and start afresh once you have ethernet connection.

Pondini may have some other clues there to give you an idea of why the backup is slow or not finishing.. there is a lot of issues with TM when it decides not to work.

I have C# dll which is invoked through a C++ cgi executable which is deployed on apache 2.2. I am getting the following error when I am trying to access the private key of a certificate which is stored in the Localmachine store. It works fine while
debugging in visual studio.
It also works fine when I try to access the same certificate from the current user store through apache.
I have tried running apache as "SYSTEM", even then I get the same error.
I have followed the right process to import the certificate into the localmachine store through mmc.

The above error is not really helpful as it doesnt tell me which path is invalid as I am not passing any path in my code. I am just accessing the certificate through the X509Certificate2 store

This is probably because the worker process identity does not have read permission to the machine key store.
And I agree with you. "The specified path is invalid" is a typical misleading message.
You may need to clarify the difference between "SYSTEM- User" and "Current-user "through apache. Good Luck!

I have the MacIntosh volume and the Boot Camp partition only. I know that when I installed Lion, I had to go through a whole back-up and recovery of Windows and then re-format the drive.
The tech at the Apple Store had a previous life as a MSCE and was very helpful. I believe he even said that I should not have htis problem with Mountain Lion which is why they gave me the flash with it onboard. I was in the process of starting a new job when I went to Lion, so I have waited to do this next and probably last upgrade to this old MBP since I doubt Apple will support this MBP in Maverick.
I do not have another installation, so that is not an option. I will try to create an external, I have plenty of hard drives around and see if I can get it done that way. It might take me a week or two to get back to it, but I will comment back upon completion of that effort. Thanks for your help....Dave Iverson

Go to "control panel" then "add or remove programs". Highlight "Apple software update" Choose "change" click "Repair" This should do the trick. Then download and install iTunes 10.5 again.

Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?

Problem with Sql Server

While i am trying to connect to sql server through an applet it is giving an error in the java console
Ie SQLException: Connection refused :connect
i also tried with standlone application it is working fine then would be the problem with applet

Check the permissions for your applet. Anuntrusted
applet(which it is by default) is not allowed toopen
network connections. That might be the cause. Butthen
you should get a SecurityException and not a
Connection Failed exception. Couls you pleasedescribe
the exception that you are getting.

exe file in the bin dir of the jdk installation which
does that(I forgot the name)

I am trying to upgrade itunes. I am running windows vista 64. Everytime I try to upgrade I get an error that says Problem with windows installer package. Anyone know how to fix this?

I had problems with Maverick installation. It moved slowly and I lost the ability to use my Finder. It was riddled with bugs. I am trying to figure out why. I ended up erasing hard drive and reinstalling Mountian Lion.

How much free storage space on your iMac?
Click your Apple menu  top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.
The v10.9 Mavericks file is a little over 5GB's and Mavericks does require a high speed broadband connection.

Problem with linux installation on Thinkpad T410i

Hello everyone. I have a problem with an installation of Linux (Debian). Installation ended in my Thinkpad T410i, but when you are starting, the computer constantly restarts. With windows does not happen. What's the problem?
Probe with two versions: one with and one without GUI, and always restarts during startup stage or just finish loading the operating system. If eligo Windows in GRUB, the pc works normally.
I appreciate any help you can give me.

Firstly, are you installing iTunes for the first time or are you updating your current version of iTunes?
If you're installing iTunes for the first time have you tried redownloading the installer package? Perhaps the file you downloaded originally is corrupted...

If you've tried that, then try installing iTunes as your computer's administrator. To do this right-click the install package and choose "Run as administrator".
If you're updating iTunes to the most recent version try repairing the Apple Software Update program on your computer. It's under the add/remove programs.
1. Open the control panel
2. Open Add/Remove programs (called "Programs and Features" in Windows 7)
3. Navigate to "Apple Software Update" in the list and click on it
4. Click on "Change" then select "Repair" (or just select the repair option in Windows 7)
Once you repair this, try running iTunes and the update again.

Some of the following is going to use some technical terms — this area is inherently somewhat technical.
If you don't understand some part of the following reply, please ask.
Is this your own OS X Server system on your own network, or is this some other server within some larger organization?
You're posting this in the OS X Server forum, which is a software package that allows OS X systems to provide web-based and many other services; to become servers.
If it's your OS X Server on your network, then the network and DNS configurations are suspect, or the server is somehow malfunctioning or misconfigured. This is unfortunately fairly common, as some folks do try to avoid setting up DNS services.
If it's a larger organization and somebody else is managing the server and the network, then you'll probably need to contact the IT folks for assistance; to learn the network setup and DNS requirements, and if there's a problem with the server itself.
The basic web URL "hyper link IP address path" — without using DNS — usually looks something the following, where you'll need to replace 10.20.30.40 with the IP address of your server:

UptimeJeff has posted a URL that specifies the AFP file system; an OS X file share. That's used if you're connecting to an Apple storage service somewhere on your network. Problem with udev during the boot

Sorry if I didn't post this message in the good section but I didn't find any support section, so I supposed that this section was the most apropriate.
So, I have a really ennoying problem with udevd since the latest kernel upgrade (3.2.2-1) during the boot.
I have the following error at the boot:
"udevd[37]: No such file or directory." and then the OS is unable to mount the disks and give me the weakest shell ever while saying me "You're on your own". Thank you Arch!
I can't find any informations on google about this error, and I d'ont find a complete explanation of udev debug (specialy because no logs are written at this moment).

Usually, you'll need a live CD (I recommend an ArchLinux Installation CD) or an LTS kernel sitting around on the same machine that can get you more or less into your favored machine. It can also be done, by pxe/diskless booting from an installation (I'm a fan of quick and efficient)! Then you have to mount all the necessary partitions /, /usr (sometimes /var if you need your packages) and most importantly /boot. They have to be mounted underneath the rescue system being used , usually under /mnt. Also needed is a mock-up of your /proc. /sys and /dev. Once they are mounted accordingly, then you chroot into your installation you need to fix. It helps if the rescue system has the same kernel, because the chroot'ed system usually tries to build your kernel based on the rescue system, but if you have your kernel package handy, it will build it with the packages modules & kernel.

Managed to get the installation sorted. Go to Control Panel, and where you have a list of all installed programs, repair all the Apple/Itunes related programs. Installation worked fine after that. Hopefully it helps you out too!

Closing ResultSet
2)               The close() methos of ResultSet closes the ResultSet object, like bellow
