Problem with using ipod touch with appblaster

I bought my son an appblaster and when the ipod is inserted the background does not move and the screen does not respond.  When another ipod is used it works fine.  Could this be due to it being cracked when dropped previously?

What model iPod is it?  The description says it needs a 4G iPod.  That is the one with the camera.

  • Set up "new" (used) ipod touch with my info

I purchased a used ipod touch as my new and only device, replacing a 1st gen touch  I want to set up this device with my info, name it etc...  I cannot find a way to "rename" the device as mine.  No problem loading my library, however, to do so I must input my account and password each time I sync.  How do I replace the original user's info wit my own.  Thanks.

  • Any problems in syncing iPod Touch with new computer?

My wife's iBook died and now I need to switch her to a newer computer. She had been syncing her iPod Touch with the old computer and she also has an iTunes account. During the down time she has been entering calendar data directly into the iPod Touch.
When I get her backup data into the new computer what kind of problems will we encounter? Will it correctly sync her calendars and contacts? Can she move or close her iTunes account from the new computer? Thanks.

Before you scrap the old one, go into iTunes and deauthorize the computer. When you get the new one set up and ready to go, go back into iTunes and authorize the new computer.
I'm not sure how you plan to transfer your library, but a portable hard drive or a big memory stick do work well. Don't forget to copy over the xml file as well as that will preserve your settings in iTunes.

  • Issue with syncing iPod touch with new laptop

Hi, I am asking on behalf of my brother (who is very frustrated) about why his windows laptop is not syncing properly with his iPod touch 4th gen. He claims to have authorized the machine with his iTunes account but every time he syncs the iPod with the laptop, it demands that he delete all of his music and resync it. So he does as it asks and when he plugs it in again later, iTunes wants him to delete everything. He does have his device authorized with a few other computers. Could he solve his problem by deauthorizing them since he never plans to use them again? Thanks for any and all help.

To not lose anything do the following:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities
The computer has to be authorized for his iTunes account. Since you can on have five computer authorized, he should deauthorize any unnecessary computer.

  • Problems with Sync iPod Touch with MS Outlook 2007 Calendar

I've seen oodles of complaints in this area, I'm thinking Apple isn't ready for prime time with "Calendar"
I have a 10 year old palm pilot, that has been syncing a MS-outlook calendar for work, and one from home, and it allows me to have a PDA with an accurate calendar. The work computer is typically newer (Windows 7, Outlook 2007), the home computer is typically older (XP, Outlook 2001). But changes between the two have happened over the years, and the Palm faithfully keeps on Syncing the two. I only want one calendar to see all my life's activities (work meetings, kid's dentist appointments, wife's sewing groups, going out with friends, etc.)
Did I mention my palm is 10 years old? I purchased an iPod Touch last week, and I knew in advance it would force me to install iTunes (so both are new).
While the ipod touch has wonderful things on it (I've jumped 10 years in technology), I need a mobile PDA with an "accurate" calendar. Note the word Accurate.
After Syncing, I see some recurring entries on time, some recurring entries out by an hour, some recurring entries that were deleted on my computer, still there in the ipod.
I've read that sometimes when you do a change (just to the content) of a recurring item, it can change the time of the calendar entry
I've read that there are known bugs in deleted recurring entries, still appearing.
While my Palm Pilot was not perfect, it handled those situations.
From ideas I've read, I've reset my backup in iTunes, I've emptied my outlook calendar, synced it empty to ipod, imported my outlook calendar back, and synced it to ipod forcing it to "overwrite", but problem entries still remains.
I've read some people say they no longer use recurring entries. Not an option for me. If I have a client for a year that wants to meet every Tuesday at 2:00 pm, but oh, I can't July 13, he can't October 19, how am I supposed to remember on those future dates, that the PDA while saying there is a meeting, there really isn't one?
How do I go about with the entries out by an hour. Show up for every meeting one hour early, in case my PDA is wrong. Not acceptable.
I've played with both date settings on the ipod (one is the ipod date, one is the calendar date). And both settings on my computer (calendar time zone and computer time zone). My computer has a DST switch, ipod does not. I'm really begining to hate DST both on the impact it has for a human body to switch, but also all the crap it causes in a more and more and more technologically connected world. But I have to rely on a city selection choice, that ipod knows if it goes with DST or not??? I don't really trust Apple on that one, sorry, it seems they've not latched on to the concept of time correctly. So I don't trust their DST on or off decisions, that I can't tell if they've done or not. I can't find any GMT time zones, I can find UTC, but no number is beside it (I want to choose my offset number of the time zone I'm in).
While I like many kewl Apps the ipod touch has, the bottom line is, I need a PDA with a calendar. And I need a calendar that is accurate. And I don't want to enter 48 entries manaully in outlook 2007, when I can enter 52 with just one recurring effort, and delete 2 that don't work on a specific future day.
I don't want to arrive an hour early for a meeting, cause I can't trust if calendar entry is correct or out by an hour.
How can I tell if DST is on or off on the iPod (I do business monthly in an area that does not do DST). Playing around with time settings in my iPod to try to get most calendar items accurate with their time, but after a sync, it changes my time zone on the iPod to Phoenix. And I normally have it set to Calgary. I know Calgary is MST (with DST), but what is Phoenix? Why should I have to look up what time zone they are in, or do they do DST? Why does my ipod time zone change after a Sync!!!
I'm a small business owner, but if Apple is not ready for Prime time, someone please tell me. I have a 10 year old son who wants my new ipod toy, and I'm starting to feel it is only that, a toy, not yet ready for business.
Thank you for reading thus far

I can't understand this question, can you clarify?
By 'put a CD into itunes' did you mean you were viewing a CD in itunes or you had imported the tracks from the CD into your itunes library?
On what screen were you seeing 'no sync high lighted' and what does that mean?
Do you sync your entire library automatically with your ipod, do you need to select tracks to be automatically synced, or you manually manage your ipod's library?

  • Using ipod Touch with OS 4.11 (Tiger)

Hi- I'm just wondering if I buy an ipod touch ( was thinking of a refurbished 2nd generation ) will there be any problems connecting to my Mac with OS 4.11 (Tiger)
I haven't updated my OS since I also use Logic Studio + Sibelius and there 've been some problems with
    compatibility.
    Thanks, Seadream

Can you explain ? How do you know ?
The thing is, I actually don't want to be paying an extra regular monthly internet fee for the iphone since I'm mostly at home with direct 'free' access over the mac.
But I occasionally go away on courses, and then I'd like to be able to use certain apps ....... hence my interest in the ipod Touch.
I've bought a refurbished one from the Apple Store - this one, though from the German site since I live in Germany -
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/FC086?mco=MTM3NTc1Njc
and it says you can use it with 10.4.11 which is what I've got .......... do you think this is bunkum ?

  • Problems with syncing iPod touch with gtkpod, rhythmbox, banshee

I have an iPod Touch 3rd Gen. And I mount it with iFuse to ~/iPod.
gtkpod works and it does detect my iPod and most things seem to be working until I actually try doing things to the iPod. I tried deleting songs or adding new ones but gtkpod just outright quits. Can't figure out how to fix that.
So I tried others like rhythmbox and banshee and they don't even recognize my iPod.
I looked around and people say Clementine recognizes iPod even without iFuse. Tried it, doesn't recognize with or without iFuse.
I believe I installed all the necessary libraries such as libgpod or libimobiledevice and usbmuxd and etc.
I have iOS 5.1 on my iPod so I don't think it's the iPod's problem.
I just need a way to sync music to my iPod I don't really care what program I use anymore.
    Thanks.

The only way for me to solve the problem was to install gvfs. Which isn't quite what I wanted. I just wanted to use iFuse and gtkpod, but I don't have a solution except installing gvfs which mounts the iPod for me and clementine starts recognizing it  and I assume Rhythmbox and Banshee...etc will start working too. However, even though the programs recognize my iPod when i try to edit the songs in my iPod it won't let me. Clementine gave me an error and Rhythmbox just outright quits like gtkpod. Gtkpod's problem is still there. Tried deleting songs and when i saved changes it quits.
    Thanks for the help

  • Problems synching two iPod Touch with movies

I have two iPod Touches, one 16GB 2g and one 32GB 3g. I use the same computer and iTunes with both iPods.
I have imported/converted several movies to the iTunes library using HandBrake, and it works excellent.
The problem is that I'm only able to copy/synch all of the movies to the 3g version, and only two of the movies to the 2g version. I've tried several things, both using iTunes automatisk synch and manually moving/copying the movies to the 2g version. But no matter what I do, only 2 of about 60 short-movies are copied and I don't understand why?!?
    Can somebody please help me

If you use the same itunes account then you can transfer itunes purchases:
    File>Transfer Purcahses

  • Is there any way to use iPod touch with Win2000/SP4?

Got an iPod touch for christmas... very cool. It doesn't synch with my computer... not so cool.
The information I've found - compatibility chart at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60971 - suggests that I'm SOL with Win2000 - it appears that I can't upgrade past iTunes 7.3 whereas 7.4 seems to be required for the Touch. Are there any hacks our ways around this, or am I just going to have to suck it up...? I don't like using sketchy pirated OS's but I'm not real excited about going out and buying a new OS either.

There is no way for you to use iTunes with Win2K and the Touch. You can use 3rd party software, WinAmp, with a plug-in: http://www.winamp.com/ but this will not let you download upgrades and purchase 3rd party software for the Touch when it becomes available.

  • Using iPod touch with speaker dock

I put my iPod touch on my speaker dock, and it connects and charges. But, the music just comes out of the iPod and not the speaker. How do I get it to come out of the speaker?

Make sure the iPod is correctly sitting on the dock. I had exactly the same problem with my iPhone. Try moving your iPod around abit while its sitting on the dock, moving it forwards and backwards slightly. Overall your more than likely to have to take your speaker dock back where you bought it from, or buy a new one.

  • Any experience using iPod touch with Onkyo DS-A1x iPod dock?

Just bought Onkyo home theater with DS-A1x iPod dock.
Will test it out tonight, but can't locate any user feedback on
    web.
Anyone out there tried this combo?

So far my experience is positive BUT.
The sound of the system is great. It charges the iPod touch just fine.
However, no video so far. Rsearching if cable/connector difference for iPod touch versus other iPods..
Remote functions work generally but the palylist/album swithcing is hard to figure out. Might make more sense with actual video.
Hey - DS-A2X user! How does the video work on yours? Do you see whatever the iPod is deisplaying or only when it pays a video or photo slideshow?
    Stay tuned for more developments.

  • What to do with an iPod touch with short battery life

The 64GB iPod touch that I bought this January runs out of juice fairly quickly. Even though Apple has a one year warranty for low battery life, my guess is that Apple won't replace the batteries for free. Apple will only replace batteries if the juice lasts a significantly shorter time than it initially did. If it does last significantly shorter than it originally did, that must be proof of heavy usage on the users part rather than malfunction by the manufacturer, hence Apple is not responsible.
For people who get it replaced by Apple: how do you or Apple find out that the battery level is low enough for a free replacement? If the battery level was low enough for a replacement, how did you get Apple to replace it for free?
On the chance that I'm not able to replace it for free, can I use my old iPod touch to get a discount on iPhones?

And what was the outcome of the test? Fast battery drain could be the result of a number of issues besides diminshed battery capacity. The test on the Apple site makes no mention of putting the device in Airplane mode, turning off push, notifications, locations services, etc. It just says to quit open applications. Does that also mean removing them from the "multitasking bar"?I'm not sure this test, as described, really gives an accurate assessment of battery health.

  • If You Broke Your Ipod And Replaced It With A New One Can They Transfer All Of Your Old Apps Music And Other Things To Your New Ipod Touch And Also Can You Replace Your Ipod Touch With Another Ipod Touch With More GB(GigaBytes)

I Have An Ipod Touch 4G That Is 8GB(Gigabytes) And U Was Jus Wandering About These Two Questions 4 So Long Do I Posted A Question

You can buy whatever ipod you want.
Damage is not covered by warranty so they will not replace it under warranty.
All of your music/apps should be in itunes on your computer and included in your regular backup of your computer.
Just sync it to the new ipod.

  • Using iPod Touch with Bluray Player

I have an LG Bluray player with a built in iPod dock. I recently loaded some movies on my iPod and would love to watch them on my tv. I can bring them up when docked, and the sound works just not the video. Does anyone know the appropriate way to connect the Bluray to the TV for video? Do I need to buy an extra cord or do I just need to rearrange the cords I have now? This is new to me, so any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

I've never heard of such a thing what model blu-ray player is it

  • Using ipod touch with a Alpind 9883 Head unit

does anyone know why the alpine 9883 head unit will not allow me to browse artist, albums, and songs when itouch is connected?

Buy one elsewhere and then take it in and tell the Applites how well it works with your G4 and how they lost a sale because of their comments. That'll teach them younguns!
Yeah, I noticed the guy had me stand right next to the MacBooks while I was waiting for him to get my purchases. Funnily enough, this was after I told him I was running on a 1GHz G4 iBook...
It will work fine, just slowly. As much as I hate to say this, in fact my fingers are cramping to prevent it, go to a local Best Buy with the Apple Store in a Store and ask the person manning it (if you can find them) this same question. They are in a great position to walk you over to the available selections. Just don't talk to the morons in the blue shirts.
