Problem with UWL substitution - ASAP

Hello,
When creating a Manage Subtitution Rule we have the button to create rule and delete the record. In this i would like to disable the delete button only.
The property option in UWL iview is to disable both create and delete button.
So can anyone help me to figure out a solution to this problem as the delete button would delete my record from the table which we donot want.
Is there any alternative to save all the substitution records even after deleting them.

Hi,
The template you used is different.
Try to create a java webdynpro iview and in the package you will find substitution application variant.
After creating the iview open the preview and here you can use CTRL plus right click and personalize.

A problem about UWL substitution and GP

Hi, Guys.
Can UWL substitution mechanism also include gp task? I have some gp tasks in my uwl. When I set someone as my substitution, all of my tasks can be seen by my substitution(besides gp tasks). Is it a system restriction or just I need to do some configuration?

Problem in UWL Substitution Rules

Hi all,
    I have created a Substitution Rules for user X from user Y. when user X logins and accepts for user Y's rules but he is not able see the rule above his UWL.
   But when I create a rule for some other user U from user Y, user U is able to get the rule above the users U UWL.
   Did anyone faced the same problem can help to solve.

Have you ensured that the source person actually HAS items in their inbox?
Because of the way that task processing occurs you might also want to make sure that the source person hasnt already started processing the item. You should ensure that the task item is "released" in the backend - something as simple as opening the item could cause this. Once you open an item it is locked into your inbox - I dont believe from memory that these can then be substituted to someone else.
If all of that appears OK (and you can actually see the items mixed with your own) then I would suggest you check the properties of the iview and make sure that all "options" (like buttons etc) are turned on. In EP7.0 there is much more control over what is / isnt displayed to the end user. Those facilities (filters) you speak about "should" become visible when you have susbstituted items.

Problem with Variable Substitution Receiver Adapter

I need to use a dynamic filename so I'm using the variable substitution in my receiver adapter. BUT, the filename can't appear in the file. So i used this blog in reference --> Solution to the problem encountered using Variable Substitution with XI-SP12
The PROBLEM is I still get and extra blank line in the file. How can I eliminate this extra line?

ESS/MSS problem with UWL

Situation
We are using ESS/MSS within the Portal 7.0 SP 14. The SAP Backend which we are using is ECC 6.0.
SSO between the Portal and Backend works efficient.
Problem
There are some issues when using the Universal Worklist. All tasks appear in our Universal Worklist from the Backend. Unfortunately, when trying to open any task we are facing the following error:

Following steps have been followed up
The URL parameter of the resource "Employee_travel_tripform_srv05 has the value "sap_xss_tra_UsePdf=true"
The iView "Display Trip Form" has the application parameter "sap.xss.tra.UsePdf=true"
Question
When a task is opened from the Universal Worklist, the Trip Form must appear in PDF Form.At this stage the iview "Display Trip Form" opens but shows the error mentioned above.
Is there anyone who could help us out?

Again thank you for your response. We have checked the workflow *WS90000013*, and you are right; it is a customized workflow.
As we already mentioned, we are using a &BUS2089&.
In this &BUS2089& there are the elements: &TRIP.EMPLOYEENUMBER& and &TRIP.TRIPNUMBER&
Unfortunately it is not possible to delete &BUS2089&. Deleting the &BUS2089& will cause a lot of problems for this total Workflow.

Problem with Material Substitution

Hi Guys,
In VB12, we set the order reason to something that will make the substitute material as a sub-item. Then we create the SO via VA01, and the subtitute material is correct to be in the sub-item.
We have changed the order reason of material determination from something that makes the substitute material as a sub-item to something that makes it automatically replaced. Meaning, no sub-item, instead, the substitute will replace the original material in SO line item.
We change the qty of SO created via VA01 but the original material was not replaced with the substitute material, instead the sub-item has been removed and the original material is maintained in the line item. We are expecting that since the order reason in material determination has been changed, the material number should also be automatically replaced when we do VA02.

Please go to configuration from SD >> basic functions >> material determination >> define substitution reasons. Reason needed to define in creation material determination from VB12 should be should be deined as below:
-warning should be ticked,
-strategy should be selected as automatic,
-outcome should be defined as B.

Problem with UWL

Hi All,
I have an issue from the Portal user that when he wants to nominate a person for receiving the notifications in his absense, he is actually not receiving them for a particular task.
But if the assignee tries to do it for all tasks then the nominee is receiving all the notifications.
Kindly let me know what is missing or what can be done for the solution.

For your so quick reply. I checked my UWL system object configuration. Its showing that system login is via SAPLOGONTICKET not by UIDPW.
After that we have maintained ITS Settings in UWL system.. so the previous problem is not coming now but a new problem is coming -
404 ERROR
SYSTEM COULD NOT FIND THE RESOURCE.
Please try to help on this as i have already deployed the applciation and without UWL link its running fine in the system.

Problem with uwl overview

I wanted to display an summary of the UWL in the portal first page so I add the uwl iview and choose "overview" in the property "UWL Navigation Style" but when I display it in the browser some of the times I get the number of new tasks (Tasks (11 New / 14) ) and some of the times I don't get (after logging off and on with the same user).
Does anybody has an idea how can I get the number of new tasks all the time?

I am using a copy of the iview

Typical problem with UWL

Hi All,
We are having two systems MDM and ECC. We want all item from different systems should come to same UWL. It is working fine for users having access to both the systems. It is not working for them having access to one system only.
Suppose user is having access to MDM system buy not the ECC system. Then user is getting the error for ECC, portaldestinationsserviceexception User is missing credential for connecting alias ... The error is very much logical because they do not have access to ECC system. How to deal with the error?
My requirement is every user should get everything in one UWL. People having access to one system is getting the error for other system. If I create two iview the my ultimate motto to get everything in one UWL is lost.

Hi Raktim,
Here's what you can do :
1. create one role for MDM users (UWL_MDM for instance)
2. assign this role to MDM users
3. edit the UWL systems used for MDM and paste the id of the UWL_MDM role in the User Roles field
(in System Administration > System Configuration > UWL & Workflow > UWL Administration)
Do the same for the ECC system.
Users with the UWL_MDM role will have access to the MDM work items, users with UWL_ECC role will have access to the ECC work items and users with both roles will have access to MDM and ECC work items. And the error messages won't appear anymore.

Problem with my substitution variable.

My substitution variables don't prompt properly now. It worked fine before, but I don't know what I did to it. Here is the test code:
set define on;
connect sys/&sysPassword @&instanceName as sysdba;
execute dbms_output.put_line('this is a test');
When I tried to execute above lines in sqlplus, it didn't prompt anything, but got following result instead:
SQL> set define on;
SQL> connect sys/&sysPassword@&instanceName as sysdba;

I remember when I used substitution variables before in sqlplus worksheet, it popup a dialog for input, but it doesn't anymore.
Any ideas about this issue? Or what setting could affect the behavior? Thanks in advance.

It would work only if you put these set of statements in a .SQL file and run that file at SQL*Plus prompt:

UWL Substitution not working

Dear all,
We have a problem with UWL Substitutions. We have a backend SRM 7.0 system and the users are trying to do substitutions with the option 'Receive my tasks'. When they do this, the substitutes do not receive all the tasks, but only 4 of them.
We check the SWWUSERWI table and we see 30 tasks assigned to the 'boss' and only 4 of them assigned to the 'delegate'.
We have also checked that HRUS_D2 table is correctly updated with the substitution.
Do you know why the tasks are not being updated with the UWL Substitution?
Is there a way to manually update SWWUSERWI with substitutions rules?

In relation to the scenario that you have described you mentioned wanting to restrict the external users being displayed for Substitution in Internal Portal. You have setup the UME property and People Renderer Profile, Trusted Attributes settings as per the documentation.
Now in relation to the above could you kindly confirm that after making these changes did you perform the following:
Clear the UWL Cache
Restart the UWL Service
Now regarding the document you referenced this is the official way that we recommend customers to restrict the people picker. Unfortunately there really isn't another supported way to achieve this. We just read all users back from the UME/LDAP, etc. However, the solution in the blog was signed off by our development team as an achieveable way to restrict the people picker so long as KMC is running on the portal.

In NW 7.01 the people picker functionality is provided by a KM component that supports company related functionality. In NW 7.30 UWL no longer uses KM PP. Instead it uses native PP that lacks company related features.

J2EE Restart Causes Error in UWL Substitution

Hi Experts,
We have an unusually problem that we are having a hard time tracking down. We are on NW 7.0 EhnP 0 SP19 and are using the UWL with the substitution active. It worked fine after being setup; UWL users were able to create a substitution with the "successful" link to our Alias. If J2EE is restarted, then the same users get a message that there is a problem with their substitution. The user has to click on the Turn Off button, click on the problem link, click OK, then click on the problem link, then click on the Retry button. At that point, the link turns to successful for the user and for ALL OTHER users on the portal using UWL with a substitution.
I have searched SDN for anything similar to this but have not run across this issue in any other forum posts. Incidentally, we have done everything in note 1133821 which is how we got it to work in the first place.
Any help would be appreciated or if you have seen this in a post before, the link to that post would be appreciated also. Anyone run into this problem?

It seems that the par file com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.ui has not been deployed properly.
As a workaround, kindly check the deployment by navigating to :
\usr\sap\<sid>\<instance-id>\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.
com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd and \pcdContent
If you find any files with .err extension there, kindly remove the .err
extension and add .bak extension.
Then restart the J2EE engine.

Issue with activated substitution role disappearing

Hello,
We have an example of a user that is experiencing problems accessing her substitution role. Her approver is off on long term sick, hence, her substitution role has been activated in 'Maintain Substitutions' in the ERP portal to enable her to authorise purchase orders on behalf of her approver. However, the drop down menu that usually appears when the substitutor is activated does not appear in the universal worklist. Therefore, this means that the user cannot access/view any purchase orders for approval delaying payment to vendors.
The delegator has deleted and re-installed the substitute in 'Maintain Substitutes' but has failed to do anything. I have checked the users roles and they are all up to date.
The only inconsistancy I can see is in the users universal worklist connection status. Comparing this to another users universal worklist connection status (that is not experiencing any problems with their substitutions) highlights a difference in message. There is an error message stating AdHocSystem/AdHocWorkflowConnector/Failure/ActionFailed. Any suggestions?

Most probably the issue is occuring due to an inconsistency or problem with the user which is receiving this error. As you mentioned, other users are perfectly able to access the popup to maintain substitutes without any error in the "Display Connection Status" popup and the same are able to see the combo to select a possible user to substitute.
So the reason for the portal not to show the combo to select the user is that from substitution perspective, the connection to all the systems registered within UWL need to be working. As for this affected user the AdHocWorkflowConnector is failing, the combo is not showing.
Maybe you could try checking the latest trace messages (from the default trace file) which are written right after the user entered the UWL application and check whether this would help on finding what the problem with this user would be.
Also other thing which you could try checking is regarding how this problematic user is maintained in Identity Management. Another prerequisite for substitution is that the users should have both a first name and last name in the respective fields. Check about the possibility of this user being set in disagreement with this.

UWL Substitution rules : Problems reported (repairable)

I have a poblem with the substitution rules within the EP7.0 (our backend system is ECC6.0).
I have created a substitution rule and have set it active.
When I have a look later on to the management of substitution rules, i always get an error message: "Problems reported (repairable)" --> "Substitution rule is not defined in the system" (System: SAP_ECC_UWL --> this is our system alias for uwl in the EP). When I push "retry" the substitution rule is succesfully registered again.
But the next time when I have a look onto it, i get the same error message.
I checked out the substitution rule, it worked (that means the substitute see the work items in his uwl), but why there is this strange error message ???

- Whenever I create a substitution rule, activate it and press then "Refresh", I get two substition rules (for two different users).
