Problem working with deployed View Object

Hi everyone,
I have developed and deployed the BC4J project. And now I'm writting the client code.
Connecting to deployed components and then to the database is successfull.
calling method ViewObject vb = applicationModule.findViewObject("ViewObject") also completes successfully. and then calling the method
vb.first() ends up with the following error:

Hi,
You need to use :
vb.getRowSet().first()
null

  • Master-detail with dynamic view object

How can you create a view link with a view object that is dynamic? I have created a master-detail relationship on a UIX page. I change the master view object at runtime using a view definition and SQL and then I bind the view object to an iterator on a UIX page. I need the new dynamic view object to maintain the link between the detail view object. Is this possible?
The reason why I have to change the view object at runtime is because I am implementing a search module and the tables in the from clause can be modified at runtime so I need to have a dynamic view object.
    Thanks,
    Sanjay

After playing around with ViewObjectImpl's setQuery() method some more I found out that this solution might not work for me due to the following reason: when the user tries to sort a column in the result table, the original contents of the view object get executed instead of the run time query.
    <p>
I would like to go back to my original solution that included creating a view definition based on the runtime query and then creating a view object from that which I bind to the RowSetIterator. The missing piece to the master-detail functionality is with the detail Iterator being in sync with the master. I have tried the following but I get a ClassCastException <p>
    DCIteratorBinding detailBinding = ctx.getBindingContainer().findIteratorBinding("DetailIterator");
    detailBinding.getViewObject().<b>setMasterRowSetIterator</b>(masterBinding.getRowSetIterator());
    <p>

  • ASP application has problems working with oracle database 8.1.7

ASP application has problems working with oracle database 8.1.7 through both oracle ODBC driver and Microsoft ODBC driver
We have an ASP application running on Windows 2000 server, and with 8.1.7 Net8Client and MDAC 2.6 SP1.
The application worked fine with an Oracle 8.0.5 database.
After upgrading oracle database to 8.1.7.0.0, our ASP application works fine except when updating the same data record more than once. The application is not saving our updates.
We tested our application using Oracles ODBC driver v8.1.7.5.0
and experienced more problems. We had problems just bring up our data entry pages. In either case, we are returned with some 505 errors in our browser, problems with the ASP pages and IIS, the page is not displaying.
If anyone has some suggestions on how to fix my problem, please advise. Thanks in advance.

thanks...i saw one article with this approach..but the document did not present the detailed process...do you have one? i am still searching for a good procedure to follow...since it is an old database and focusing/studying old versions like this is a pain in the a**... :(

  • Additional plug ins not displaying when working with ERBI Business Objects.

when working with ERBI Business Objects I am attempting to edit a report which requires Java. When I click on edit I get a bar at the top of the screen that say "Additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page". I click install missing plugins and receive a page that says no suitable plugins were found. I click finish and thus it still won't allow me to edit a report.

  • Problem with 2 View Objects based on One Entity -Probably a Bug in ADF BC

    Hi
I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3(SU5) and adf faces and ADF BC and to explain my problem I use HR schema.
First, I created 2 view objects based on countries table named as TestView1 and TestView2. I set TestView1 query where clause to region_id=1 and TestView2 query where clause to region_id!=1 in the view object editor and then I created 2 separated form on these 2 view objects by dragging and dropping from data control palette.
Now when I insert a record in the form based on TestView1 with region_id set to 1 and commit the record and go to the next form I can see the record in the second form which is completely wrong since it is against the where clause statement of the second form.
I am really confused and the situation is very wired and it seems to me something like bug in adf bc.Am I right. Is there any work around or solution for solving this problem.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Navid

    Dear Frank,
Thank you very much for your quick response.
Reading your helpful comments now I have some questions:
1- I have commited the record in the database so shouldn't the query of view objects be re-queried?
2- We try to use ClearVOCaches (entity_name,false) in afterCommit of the base entity object but unfortunately it does not work correctly. after that,We got root app module and used findViewObject method to find all the view of that entity (we have found them by using name not automaticlly) and called executeQuery of all views. From my point of view it has 2 big disadvantages. First suppose that this entity is an important entity and 4 or 5 viow objects are based on it. Now, For inserting one record we should re-execute 4 or 5 view which I think makes some performance issues. Besides, If during the development one programmer add a new view object based on this entity and don't add the executeQuery in the afterCommit for this view, again we have the same problem. Isn't there at least a way that automatically refresh all related view objects however the performance issue still exists.
3- You mentioned that this issue is handled in the developer guide. Could you kindly give me a refrence which developer guide you mean and which section I should read to overcome this problem.(I have ADF Developer's Guide for Forms/4GL Developer's Guide , however I search for clearVOCaches and surprisingly nothing was found!!!)
4- Could you please give me some hints that from your point of view what is the best method to solve this problem with minimum performance effect.
Any comment would be of some great help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Navid

  • BC Archive - problem with opening view object based on entity from archive

We have encountered a weird problem with a reusable BC library on different PCs.
Library was imported into a project following steps in section 25.7 of the ADF guide.
A view object was created using some of the entities from the library.
Model tested successfully with view object (using AppModule tester).
    Page developed with no problems.
Application copied to a different PC.
BC JAR files set up in lib folder and removed/readded to application model project. When attempting to open view object, get the error below.
However, the View object still tests successfully using the AppModule tester.
The page using the View object still runs successfully.
I believe the problem is that when the archive was originally imported, it was imported from a different location. The Containees tag in the project .jpx file references that path name. But even when I edited the path name, I still could not open the view object. Do we have to remove and redo the import of the library each time the application is copied to a different machine?

  • Problem extending standard ViewReceiptsSearchVO view object with logic on get method

    Hi All,
    EBS 12.1.3
    Database 11.2.0.3
I am trying to extend the 3 VOs related to ViewReceiptsSearch.  I extended a seeded ViewReceiptsSearchVO view object.  I haven't made any changes yet, no columns added, nothing altered.  When I run this substitution, the "Received" column is null.  This column in the view used for the view object only selects NULL and uses the getter method for the attribute to populate the value.  The generated extension getter calls getAttributeInternal and skips the logic in the standard getter and the substituted view object is displaying the null in the screen.  The below discussion explains the problem very well except that the original posted had the issue in 11.5.10.2.  I am having this issue with 12.1.3.
Problem extending standard view object with logic on get method
The 3 VOs that I am having the problem are:
    ViewReceiptsSearchVO
    ViewReceiptsSearchReqVO
    ViewReceiptsSearchSupplierVO
What do I need to do to get the "Received" column populated?  Please let me know any additional information you want to troubleshoot the issue.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Can you Please Share Extended ViewReceiptsSearchVO.xml and .jpx File?

  • Problem in ADF Tree When I use 2 Tree in a Page with same View Object !

    Hi everybody,
I use JDeveloper 11.1.1.5 and ADF Faces in UI . I have 2 tree in a page that they are from same Updatable View Object but diffrent instances in application module . When I change an attribute value from one of them in manage Bean programmatically , both of them change??!! in my case I put a checkbox in nodeStamp, when user click on checkbox, title of row must change but title in both of them change?????
I think it is a bug.
    please help me. Thanks

    >
so what is diffrent to use same view object instances in page or multiple instances when we need ??
    >
Actually, this depends on your use case. suppose you have a view object with a bind variable, and you want to display to tables on the same page but with different query result depending on the bind variable, in this case you have to create two view instances.

I've got a curious for me problem...
I get from a creation form a code that the user enter, a method in the app. module checks

The code always Exist! Debugging I found out that the code that is found is the code that the user tries to enter...
    Am I missing something?

  • Problem working with GTS

    Hi,
I am currently working on GTS.My objective is to fetch the certain field values of tables in GTS system and  update the corresponding master tables in SAP R/3 system. Now the problem is that I do not have the exact function module/RFC which can help me fetch the data from GTS.Can anyone please help me regarding which function modules/RFC should I use for data extraction.
        Please reply.
    Regards,
    Anirban.

I guess you have to do the following steps .
    - You have to create RFC Fm in SAP .
    - You’ll call this RFC from  GTS system .
    - In GTS system you have to register the SAP gateway server , instance name and program id .
    - You have to create RFC connection in SM69 with program id which is register in GTS system . So GTS system can come and pull up the data from SAP .
    - You can see the status of GTS system wther its connected or not in Tr.SMGW.
    Hope this’ll give you idea!!
    <b>P.S award the points.</b>
    Good luck

  • Offline working with Discoverer Viewer 3i

I work with Discoverer 3i and I have a problem.
I can't save my pages (with Discoverer Viewer) in order to see
    them offline.
Can you give me any solution???
    Thanks

    Hi Simon
That's really cool, although it is Discoverer 9.0.4, not 10.1.2.
For anyone who is interested, Oracle made a lot of changes between the 9.0.4 Viewer and the 10.1.2 Viewer, not least being the ability to send a report via email, to save a report, to pivot the data and to handle fine grained printing using PDF. You can also set up a corporate look and feel for 10.1.2 Viewer using the OEM interface.
With regards to the take up of Discoverer Viewer, most companies I work with are using it in a ratio of between 70:30 and 90:10 Viewer versus Plus.
Its a great tool for doing exactly what it says - viewing a report.
    Best wishes
    Michael

  • Can't see Manage Link to work with tables views and links

I have an Azure account linked to Office365, and a Pay as you go subscription;  and have been working with SQL for a few months without any problem.    I wanted to move one of my databases to my own Azure account (not tied to our O365)
so I get a free trial, and then converted that to paid with my credit card.   I had someone help me move the database, but now when I look at it in the new account there is no "Manage" link at the bottom to open and see the tables, fields,
views, etc.     I don't understand why that isn't there.  I can copy, delete, all sorts of things.   But I can't "manage".    any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I checked with a college and he pointed me to another post on the same topic:
Clicking the ‘Manage’ button in Azure Management portal launches the SQL Azure Management (SilverLight) Portal in a new tab in the browser. At this time, we do not plan to support this SilverLight-based SQL Azure Management Portal with V12 databases and
    servers.
We are working hard on an HTML-based T-SQL editor experience that will deeply integrate with the preview Azure Management Portal. Until then, we encourage customers to use Visual Studio Community 2013 which is a full-featured free version of Visual Studio
2013 to connect to Azure SQL databases for tasks such as running T-SQL, designing schema and for offline and online database development.
You can click the the ‘Open in Visual Studio’ in the database page in the Azure Management portal to launch VS2013 on your computer and easily connect to your SQL Database.
In addition, you can also use SQL Server Management Studio 2014 with CU6 to connect to Azure SQL Database. More details are on this blog post.

  • Problem working with JCA connector

i downloaded one resouce adapter (for EIS of type database) from BEA bownloads.
This resourse adapter is sopporting javax.sql.DataSource as the
client interface.when i changed the interface to javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory,
so that i can use cci API in my application it's not working.
I am not sure wether support's CCI as client interface or not.
please suggest me the solution asap,
Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
              thanx,
              raghu.

    Raghu,
Please explain what you mean when you say that you changed the downloaded RAR to have CCI client interfaces?
