public void run() {
        private long tiempo_envio=System.currentTimeMillis();
        while (true) {
                if(System.currentTimeMillis()-tiempo_envio>=60000){
                       miCriterio = new Criteria();
                      miCriterio.setCostAllowed(false);
                      LocationProvider lPvd = LocationProvider.getInstance(miCriterio);
                      Location localiza= lPvd.getLocation(100);
                        if(localiza.isValid()){
                                       QualifiedCoordinates qc = localiza.getQualifiedCoordinates();
                                        latitude=qc.getLatitude();
                                         longitude=qc.getLongitude();
                } else{
                        try {
                                 sleep(200);
                          } catch (InterruptedException e) {
                                e.printStackTrace();
Ah, ya utilice el LocationListener y realmente tenia problemas a veces me detecta la posición y en otras tarda bastante tiempo hasta 20 minuitos en detectarme la posición.

  • IPhone 4 - Problem with Wifi corrupting GPS

    Hello All,
    Here is my situation on my iPhone 4 with ios 7.02 (though the issue has persisted through all versions of iOS 6):
    When I turn on a gps program (either waze or google maps) while within wifi range, and then go out into 3G land, I have either no GPS connectivity or sporadic connectivity.
    Similarly, if I am using one of those programs in my car and then go into a wifi network, it will not successfully connect after I leave wifi range.
    The only remedy I have found is to turn the phone off completely, and turn it on when I am outside wifi range in order for it to work. This works 100% of the time but is a major annoyance. Quitting the program doesn't help.
    I usually only use waze. When waze gps is corrputed and I try to load up google maps, that program is bricked too, and vice versa.
    Has anyone else had this issue? A friend of mine has a 4S and is experiencing it too.
    It is most annoying when I am on a mission somewhere and need quick gps and forget that I haven't reset my phone.
    I assume it is a hardware fault, and nothing short of a new chipset (read: new phone) would fix it.
    I have searched the forums and can't find anything on point.
    Thanks!

    Hi -
    No, never found a great solution. My phone seems to have this problem less often now with ios 7.
    It is easier to flick up the utility screen and enter / leave airplane mode than it used to be.
    Now whenever my GPS starts being finicky I just go into airplane mode for a 5 count, unselect it, and that usually clears the problem when I am out of wifi range.

  • Problems with Blackberry Curve GPS

    I am having problems with the GPS feature on my Blackberry Curve. Whenever I start the GPS function on Maps, all it shows is "searching for satellites. Everything is set correctly and it still doesn't do anything. I do a battery pull, then it works fine for a little bit and after awhile, it crashes again.
    I shouldn't have to do a battery pull every time I need to use this feature. Anyone have any tips on how to correct this?

    When having issues with the Vz Navigator on your Blackberry, you may need to check the application settings. Listed below are steps to ensure  your settings are correct.
    Device Software Version 5.x
    From the Home screen, press the Menu button.
    Select Options.
    Select Advanced Options.
    Select GPS.
    Select the current setting in the GPS Data Source field.
    Select Device GPS.
    Select the current setting in the GPS Services field.
    Select one of the following settings:
    Location On
    GPS enabled
    E911 Only
    GPS disabled
    Select the current setting in the Location Aiding field.
    Select one of the following settings:
    Enabled
    Disabled
    Disabled While Roaming
    Press the Menu button then select Save.
      Additionally, you may want to update the vz navigator application on your device. I have listed steps below.
    From the VZ Navigator home screen, press the Menu button.
    If presented with the Update screen, proceed to step 5.
    Select Preferences
    Select Advanced.
    Select Check for Updates.
    Select Accept.
    Select Click Here to Download VZ Navigator.
    Ensure Set Application Permissions is checked then select Download.
    Ensure all permissions are set to Allow, press the Menu button then select Save.
    If presented, select Yes / Replace.
    If presented, select OK.
    If presented, select Reboot Now / Reboot Later.
    The installed application cannot be accessed until the device has rebooted.
    Lastly, updating your phone to the network is also recommended once a month. This is called a PRL update and I have listed the steps below:
    To update the PRL:
    Power on the phone within the Verizon wireless coverage area.
    Dial *228 then press SEND (this call is airtime free and may take up to 2 minutes).
    When prompted, press 2 for the option to update the PRL.
    Once completed, a confirmation message will appear to informing that the phone has been re-programmed with the new PRL.
    Press End to terminate the call.
    Power cycle the phone to complete the update.

  • Booklet 3G - Problems using Garmin with GPS?

    Whilst this topic covered before as here http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Mini-Laptops/Booklet-3g-GPS-a-GPS-usage/m-p/582747/highlight/true#M2... there is little information if you can't get it to work due to COM issues.
    What values you get for the four GloveTrotter MO40x COM ports seems to vary upon your installation and this being upon Windows Home Premium re-installation may have something to do with it:
    In my case GPS control interface being COM 6 was the issue and needed to change to COM2 being only free port between 1 and 4:
    Next after installing Teraterm > launch > select Serial > COM2: Globe Trotter MO40x GPS Control interface > OK > Setup > Terminal > tick Local Echo (otherwise no text on screen) now type AT_OGPS=2 hit Return ang get OK on screen. Next tap File > New connection and should then be set to Serial: Port COM 3 GPS Data Interface and provided 3G enabled (with or without SIM) you should see data flowing. To stop this enter AT_OGPS=0 in original terminal screen for COM 2:

    Thanks.  I think this answered my question, but I'm still a bit confused.
    So the GPS data and the Camera are all set to UTC.  On import into Aperture camera time and Actual time are both set to UTC which will place the pictures correctly. Setting Camera time to UTC I understand.
    "If you do not set the camera time and actual time in the import panel to match the camera time, then Aperture will assume wrongly the system time currently set on your computer is the timezone of the camera."
    This I don't understand.  We have 3 times: the Camera Time, the Actual Time, and the time that is currently set on my Mac.  I would have assumed that the Actual Time would be the time which would show in the picture info after the import.   I.E., say I take a picture at 6:00 pm Eastern on 10/24/12, which would be 3 pm Pacific and 2 am the next day UTC.  With Camera Time set to UTC, I would have assumed that the "Actual Time" should be set to Eastern (the timezone time the picture was taken).  Then the picture info would say "Date 10/24/12 6:00:00 pm EDT".  So my confusion arises as to why the timezone set on the Mac on which Aperture is running (and is doing the import) is relevant?  Since I've told it the picture timezone, why would it change it?
    "Aperture not only stores the time but also the time zone"
    Putting this another way, I would have assumed tha the time zone that Aperture set woiuld be the timezone in the "Actual Time" field.  If I've told it that the timezone is EDT, why would it override the setting to the computer timezone?

  • 5230 GPS fix problem (have gps signal but no gps f...

    hi
    i have a nokia 5230
    software version V20.0.005 / 23-03-2010
    custom version 20.0.005.315.02 / 29-04-2010
    type RM-588
    not updated
    CODE 0597862 - Latest available software for your device Version 20.0.005
    GPS positioning methods:
    A-GPS = OFF (I dont have/dont want data traffic charge)
    IntGPS = ON
    BlueGPS = OFF
    Network Based = ON
    Positioning server use = disable
    Software used:
    Default nokia gps applications - GPS positioning (not the ovi map)
    Nokia sports tracker v3.50(0) (S60 3.1) 2-08-2010 (mostly for GPS logging)
    Garmin XT
    The problem - GPS fix is taking (sometimes) very long periods from 1 - 5 hours or in same cases it does not make a GPS fix. Other times (about 25% of tries) it calculates GPS fix in a few minutes (1-15min).
    I use the GPS only outdoors within open sky and hill/forest (not in urban, tall buildings). Usualy is clear sky or clouds, but not storms.
    The Satellite info page displays me the satelite signals, and usually I have about 6-11 satelites bars and from them about 4-7 with more then 75% signal.It is very frustrating to have gps satelite signal and not have a gps fix. This is obvios a software related problem not a weak gps signal.
    DOES anybody had this issue and know how to solve it? I suspect a firmware bug... but I dont really know.
    Thank you.

    My new 5230 takes ages to get a GPS fix. Nokia suggested the following. It seems to have given me route not found errors but I'm still testing. I reproduce Nokia's suggestion here it case it helps you...
    We understand that you are having some issues with the GPS function of your Nokia 5230. In response to your concern, may we recommend that you power cycle your phone. Please follow the stepls below:

     1. Go to your phone's main screen and press *#7780#.
     2. You will be prompted to restore the factory settings and it will ask for a lock code. If you have not changed the code, the default is 12345.
     3. Your phone will automatically restart after pressing the code.

  • N97 GPS Problems - Hardware or Software?

    Sorry to start yet another thread on the N97 GPS problems, but reading through all the threads there seems not to be any clear conclusion as to whether or not the issue is a software/firmware one, in which case potentially fixable, or a hardware one, in which case the phones have to be sent back and replaced.
    My personally feeling is that it's hardware.  Some people have no issue but many have a problem.   I have the same issues with losing the satellites, poor GPS accuracy, etc. both with Ovi Maps 3.01 and with Google Maps, which again to me points to a hardware fault.  Updating firmware from v10 to v11 made no difference to GPS performance.
    So, I wonder if people agree with me that it is a hardware issue and the phones have to go back, or if there is some hope of it being a software issue and thus being fixed?
    Anyone had any success in sending back an N97 for replacement because if the GPS issue? Mine is a UK 3 branded N97 black, free as part of a contract, and I have a feeling that 3 are likely to resist replacing the phone if they can.
    Mark

      I believe that the GPS problem in N97 not a hardware problem but a software problem with the Nokia (Ovi) Maps 3.
    Below explanation why:
    I have been using Nokia Maps 2.0 on my previous phone – E71 for more than one year. It worked pretty well and stable. One important remark – it is important to configure the server for AGPS under Settings well...
    About one and half month ago I decided to install on my E71 the newest Nokia (Ovi) Maps 3.0. And ... immediately my problems started. The GPS performance worsened – I was continuously getting messages about GPS lost, recalculating and usually concluding that I am on a parallel road to the road which I was actually driving – horrible...
    Also my colleague with N82 made the same mistake (installed Maps 3.0) and got the same problems.
    Because of this problems I have removed this new version on my E71 and went back to Nokia Maps 2.0. And guess what? - The problems were gone!
    Two weeks ago I bought my N97. It comes only with Maps 3.1 so I was expecting problems. And ... indeed I have them all. Bad thing is however that I cannot go back to Maps 2.0 on N97...
    I tested GPS accuracy with three different phones (N97, E71, E75) and two versions of Nokia Maps. What I can see is that its normal to be about 80-100 meters on average. This is not a specific N97 issue! And apparently should not be a problem because Nokia Maps 2.0 works great even if this application shows accuracy of 100 m. Probably thanks to the Assisted GPS.
    So my conclusion is that it is not a hardware problem but a problem with (a part of) the software of the Nokia (Ovi) Maps 3.x ! Maybe with a GPS Driver? Or the functionality of the assisted GPS?

  • N97 GPS problem!

    There has been already some discussion about GPS but I want to start new one topic-
    I would like to know is there any N97 or anybody which N97 GPS is working fine without any problems?
    Today I made my first real navigation trip and I saw that my N97 with newest maps and phone sw was useless.
    GPS signal is going to lost very often and my position arrow is coming too late for corners and turns. Also speed shows very often 0km/h and sometimes it goes totally grazy when poistion is lost and it's starting to calculate route again and again and it never ends without starting whole navigation from the beginning.
    Well when I was returning back to my home today i decided to use my Nokia LD-3W Bluetooth GPS receiver and when I used that and also phone's A-GPS then MAPS  worked very well. None of problems.....
    I truly hope that this GPS problem exists on every released N97 at this time because then it would be most propably SW related problem, not HW problem. Of course it can be also HW problem but I do not belive that.
    Also some other Nokia phone models have had almost similar problems (with early sw versions) but those has been fixed by phone sw later on. But I must to admit that not so bad that I faced with N97 today.....

    I believe it is a hardware problem. I use GPS Data all the time and it never fails that my N95-3 and E71-2 both get a good GPS signal that doesn't fluctuate constantly or randomly go in and out. It doesn't matter what application I'm in either, whether that be Google Maps, or Nokia Maps. The N97 has a diffiicult time finding and keeping hold of a GPS signal. Both of my N97's (first and second) are exactly the same.
    The antenna is the problem. There is no doubt in my mind. All the software in the world can't make up for an antenna that can't keep a signal. It can mask the problem to a certain extent, which supposedly Nokia Maps 3.1 does, but it doesn't solve the real issue here which is **bleep** hardware.
    Even on days and nights where there are not clouds in the sky, I get the "GPS does not work well indoors" error message while driving around in my car, trying to use the "GPS Data" application. My N95-3 and E71 never tell me that.
    Nokia, as much as I like them, screwed this phone up hard, and to be honest, they've been doing it for some time.

  • Gps problems

    I'm having problem's with the GPS after up-dating to I OS 6. GPS will not work at all. Once in awhile I will get a signal, but 99% of the time error message pops up No GPS Siginal.
    Bing, Waze, Maps, Weather Apps all will not locate me.
    Is there a fix for this by Apple yet?
    Or has someone figured out how to get the GPS to work.
    I run my I PAD 2 off the verizon network with a JetPack.
    Thanks for any help

    In my country,
    8100 does not have an inbuilt GPS - despite the menu selection appearing under options.
    8110 DOES have GPS..
    They look the same, but I use the 8110 for the GPS..
    Hope that helps..

  • ATP Photo Finder GPS not recognized on Mac as USB flash drive

    Much like the problem with the Sony GPS-CS1, it appears the ATP Photo Finder device also will not be recognized as a flash drive on a Mac. Tiger worked with the Sony for awhile, but recent updates (as well as Leopard 10.5.x) have made it no longer work. There are other topics on the GPS-CS1 in these forums detailing those problems.
    I picked up an ATP Photo Finder from My Discount Digital to try it out. It logs data, then you insert the memory card in to the device and it will GPS stamp the JPGs. It sounds like a great idea, but when it didn't work I was going to have to plug it up to my Mac and use PC software via Parallels to reprocess the images.
    It is not recognized -- and under Parallels, a new USB device shows up simply listed as "U" under the pull-down menu. When I try to select it, it claims it is already in use. Methinks Apple Mac OS X is semi-grabbing the device but not being able to use it.
    Odd.
    So I post this in case others have the ATP Photo Finder and have problems... Maybe we can figure something out.

    Well, here's an odd (and quick) self follow-up... I was reading an Apple Help file and it suggested looking at the System Profiler to see if the device is being recognized. Indeed, it showed the "U" and some garbled characters (so something is not quite right). It also showed it was plugged in through my powered USB hub. I bought this hub after running in to issues with devices that would not work plugged in to the iMac keyboard... On a whim, I plugged the ATP Photo Finder in to the non-powered USB port on the keyboard and ... it worked. It still shows up as U(garbled) but I was able to access it from the Mac Finder.
    Interesting.

  • F3507g GPS not working after sleep/resume Windows 7

    Under Windows 7 on ThinkPads with the F3507g Mobile Broadband Connection, there have been two long-standing problems:
    (a) after sleep/resume, the F3507g (Wireless WAN) disappears from the Fn+F5 menu;
    (b) after sleep/resume, ThinkVantage GPS does not work (forever displays Fix Type: N/A).
    By searching these forums, you can find past threads about these problems, none with a reproducible resolution.
    I am pleased to say that the latest driver update for the F3507g (v6.1.10.5  7UW708WW) appears to ameliorate problem (a) in that the F3507g Wireless WAN eventually re-appears in the Fn+F5 menu if you give it a few tens of seconds after a resume.  This update is available from:
    http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-73681
    However, the non-working GPS after sleep/resume is still not solved.  Even though the "Wireless WAN" card is present and shown powered-on in the Fn+F5 menu, ThinkVantage GPS (2.60) is stuck on Fix Type: N/A, and the Windows 7 Weather gadget does not automatically discover the location.  Both applications work fine after a full Windows restart, but not after a sleep/resume.
    I have, however, discovered a work-around which restores GPS operation without a full restart:
    Open Device Manager;
    Expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers";
    Right-click "F3507g Mobile Broadband Device" and select "Disable";
    Wait for the system to settle down again;
    Right-click "F3507g Mobile Broadband Device" and select "Enable";
    Wait for the system to settle down again.
    Now you can press Start in ThinkVantage GPS, and Fix Type will quickly change from "N/A" to "No Fix", and then onward to satellite discovery.  And after a few false starts, the Windows 7 Weather gadget will discover the location.
    The fact that this work-around restores GPS operation indicates that the underlying fault is a driver software issue.
    The above symtoms and work-around have been verified on both a ThinkPad X301 and a ThinkPad T400s.  Neither have ThinkVantage Access Connections installed.  The X301, when previously running under Vista with the previous generation of drivers, did not display these symptoms: the symptoms appeared with the upgrade to Windows 7.

    Actually mine works fine after applying all the updates available on T400 w/ Windows 7 Pro 64bit. I can sleep/shutdown as much as I want and the GPS works.
    By the way, you have to goto your bios to reset your settings to default by pressing F9. Maybe you should try this and see if that solves your problem.
    The only GPS related issue that is not fixed is the issue of dual booting into linux. I dual boot into linux, and when that happens the GPS problem re-occurs once I log back into windows. The only way for me to fix the problem again at that point, is if I go back into the bios and hit F9 again, then re-enter windows.
    If I were to stay in a windows environment indefiniately, there is no problem. The problem is once I enter Linux, the problem in windows will occur again (maybe the powerstate settings by the linux kernal messes up the settings on the card).

  • Nokia n97 gps help

    I am having a problem with using the gps. I tried uning the address sreach and it keeps saying no result found. Can someone help me out.

    I was gonna start by saying that maybe the address is so new its not listed yet, but It appears that nokia maps doesn't search the addresses very well. I tried to search addresses after reading this post, and it can't seem to find any.
    Places it does fine, and navigating it does fine if you pre-mark your destination manually by physically scrolling the map.
    I suggest using google maps which does this job fine. The one disadvantage with google maps is it doesn't read out instructions, or make use of the compass feature like nokia maps does.
    I never tried the traffic function in nokia maps because i was too stingey to pay the fee, but google does have this as standard, but only for major routes such as motorways (uk anyway).
    The weird thing though, this is what I dont get, if you walk along using nokia maps, it gives you the exact address with house number, so must be a bug in the way it does searches, coz it seems all there datawise.
    PS I am using maps3
    Do u believe in love @ first sight, or should I post again?

  • Nokia E72 GPS

    Hello,
    This is driving me to distraction on my Nokia E72 which I have been very pleased with everything on it, but the GPS receiver is pretty dire in my unit.
    I have access points correctly configured and tried just about every combination of positioning methods to no avail.
    Most of the time I end up having to set off in the car and sometimes the GPS gets a lock (having been set on waiting for GPS) and sometimes, it just never catches up and I switch it off. Worse, yesterday I started getting directions having supposedly got a lock, for all the wrong roads and directions as the phone thought it was somewhere else!
    This has been on good clear days and days where it has been overcast.
    Nokia Maps is set to online mode.
    How do other people find the GPS in the E72? My phone is on v81.003, I can't upgrade it to a later version as it says there is none.
    Mine is a SIM free unlocked phone from new.
    Thanks,
    Vicky

    to be honest I have this problem with almost all GPS units (including tomtom). Particularly when not plugged into power (you know, they come with batteries in them though most people never use them)
    Unless you have A-GPS going (and the network provides the data) it can often take me 20min to get a lock too.
    Just ensure that the phone is in a place which is not buried within the car (metal shields it from signal) and that you're not in an area with lots of hills or tall buildings.
    GPS of all flavors has limits.
    I have tried using an external GPS (bought for my E63) which sometimes gets a lock better than the phone.
    I suspect that when on battery that GPS units 'slow down' searching for sattelites to conserve power ...

  • Aperture 3.03 - images are not automatically set to a GPS location

    Hi everyone!
    First of all I have to apologize because I don't know the English terms for the Aperture functions, but I am using the German version.
    I currently have a big problem by tagging my images automatically to a GPS track.
    I can import the track from a GPS file generated with a Garmin eTrex H. I see the track - the purple line of the track. If I go over the line I see the date and time of the point i am over.
    If I place an image over a point of the line, I am asked if the other images should be located too. If I answer to do so, just the image I placed is set to the GPS position. No other image! But this was working already some weeks ago!
    I checked everything the date and time of the GPS, date and time of the images. But it still does not work.
    Does anybody have an hint for me? Is there a problem with 3.03?
    Any help is welcome.
    Thanks a lot!
    Stefan.

    Hi villem!
    Thanks a lot for the info! I think you are right. All tracks and images are done after the daylight saving time switch. I was used to use HoudahGeo for geotaggging before I was using A3. I updated HoudahGeo and it turns out, that everything was working fine.
    I think the problem was, that the GPS turns to daylight saving time automatically but the camera wasn't. So there was two different time zones. I set the time in the camera now. I will see if this helps.
    I also tired to set the time zone of the track in A3 but this didn't help! Is there any other workaround for this bug?
    Thanks a lot for your help! I was trying this for days now!
    Stefan.
