Problems - just how stable is this stuff?

I've been getting to grips with the Digital Publishing Suite for over a week now (InDesign 5.0 plus Folio Builder etc.) and like alot of others on this site have had a series of minor and major issues, then just when I thought things were starting to go well...I decided to update the Content Viewer and Tools!
Result = disaster. I now have a Content Viewer that will not download the updated Folio and when I try to delete the Articles to rebuild the Folio, I get a 'Network failure' notice in InDesign. As I can't download the Folio it won't even give me the option of archiving to delete it in the Content Viewer, to start again.
What's going on with Adobe?
I'm working from a free Adobe.com account so perhaps the big publishers on the paid for area are having a better time. I may be just one of god knows how many freelance or small company designers but surely we, as long serving and loyal customers, deserve better service than Adobe appears to providing with this set of software.
Reading all the forum posts the whole Digital Publishing Suite rollout looks as though it was done in a rush - is it just me or do thers feel like they are in the middle of an unofficial Beta test?

Don't panic, this sometimes happens with lingering bits of old folio that need refreshing with an app update.
Uninstall Content Viewer from your iPad. Delete Content Viewer from iTunes, and sync. Power down your iPad and then power back on (clears any naughty memory). Reinstall the new Content Viewer from the App Store. Launch it, log in anew and download your folio anew.

    This is a scam. Do not phone these people, at best they will charge you for unnecessary 'cleaning' and at worst they will gain access to your Mac and steal your data. You've probably managed to install some 'adware' which is producing this fake warning. 'Adwaremedic' should remove it and is safe to use - please see

  • HT201328 There's an icon symbol of a lock with an arrow circleing it how can I find out what this is and just how to resolve this issue?

    A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
    No content is affected by this procedure.

    Most servers are case sensitive when it comes to file names.
    You have to make sure you include "SpryData.js" instead of
    "sprydata.js".

  • Just how bad is this phone ? (E70 revisited)

    I have actually forgotten how frustrating Nokia phones can be as I had confirmed by (then) new E70 to the bottom drawer because with the firrmware on it, it wouldn't work in my bluetooth enabled BMer.
    What joy when I learned of the new version. Could it be that version 3.0633.09.04 (where do these numbers come from) would solve my problem ?
    Well I don't know. In fact I don't even know why I tried to put it on the phone. First I downloaded the latest PC Suite (the phone I have which actually works is NOT a Nokia, so I didn't have that on the PC ). Then I downloaded the software updater. Then I connected by recharged (and still plugged into the adaptor) E70, and fired up the updater.
    Next the USB message that my phone was disconnected from PC-Suite appeared, and as predicted the updater actually told me there was an update. I now had the option to leave or continue. When I continued, I got a message which told me the updater could not verify my phone !
    No WAIT !! I got past this by restarting, and while the message to get out was still on the screen, I used the utility in PCSuite to reselect my phone, and when the updater continued it started the download of 48.1M. Great.
    Next it came to the update bit. Again the process failed and again the solution was to do the little tinker with PC Suite to get past that point. In fact I got all the way to where the phone reboots, and shows the Nokia test screen. Here the phone seems to reconnect itself, but either its not fast enough or it's not connecting to the updater, because it reports that the update has failed. Sad but true.
    Should I have known ? Should I have guessed ? I have a buddy who has had an E61, an E70 and now wants to try the E90. Is he crazy or what ? S60 does for telephony what Locusts do for corn. If only words would describe how bad this series of phones really is...
    For those of you still here, who are in the queues for the E90, I admire your sense of endevour ! May the force be with you.

    Ok, im really new to this whole class linking things. Ok first i dont know how to create the two Die objects as one and have them rolled using the BoxCars class. Can somebody help me in the right direction ?

    Doing that is a large order for a beginner. It can't find the jar file (or directory) that contains the package "org.python.util". You need to place the jar or parent directory in the classpath.

  • Zen Micro Problem -- Just TRY and figure this one out

    So, I never dropped my zen micro, never played soccer with it, never sent it to the moon. It's possible someone else has, and isn't fessing up to it, but all I know is I came home one day to find a non-working Zen Micro.
    The symptoms: I can charge batteries, I can make it glow blue by plugging it in. If it's running just off battery it gets to the CREATIVE screen and just stays there until the battery dies. If it's plugged in, it does the same thing but glows blue.. and doesn't die.
    I CAN go into recovery mode, but none of the options do anything [well, restart does.. it takes me back to the CREATIVE screen]. The other ones keep formatting and whatnot forever, which is a good indication it just froze as soon as I pressed format.
    I also tried to plug it in, and format it off my computer as a removable disk, but unfortunately neither my computer nor my friends is picking up the Zen Micro as a removable disk and placing it on the My Computer tray.
    If anyone has any advice, if anyone has seen this type of thing before, etc etc, please share.

  • Colorsync Utility. Whenever I click on Devices or Filters, it hangs and I have to force quit. Any ideas as to how to fix this?

    I'm having an issue with Colorsync Utility. When I open the utility I can access Profile First Aid, Profiles and the Calculator but whenever I click on Devices or Filters, it hangs and I have to force quit. I recently re-profiled my NEC monitor using xRite i1Profiler Pro and saved the ICC profile as "version 4". When I went to use the Nik's ColorEfex Pro 4 plug-in, in Adobe Photodhop CS5.1 (Creative Suite 5.5), I got a cyan cast across all my images. Nik said it had to do with a corrupt ICC profile but when I ran Profile First Aid, the only profile that came up as needing repair ( and couldn't) was EW-sRGB. I reprofiled the monitor only this time I saved it as "version 2", and the plug-in worked fine. What surprises me is that Colorsync Utilty always used to work without issue, and I never seemed to have a problem creatinga and saving ICC profiles using version 4. Any ideas as to what is causing this problem and  how to fix this?

    I updated my software, and deleted my history/cache.  Also, when I try to use Preview, it says that it was forced to quit while restoring windows, so when I click restore windows nothing happens.  I can't view anything either.  The only thing I can think that may have caused these problems is I tried to shut down and had to force it to by holding the power button.  I rarely shut it off.
