Procedure for adding a characteristic to an ODS in production

Hi,
Can someone outline the right process of adding a newly created characteristic infoobject to an ODS (that contains records)in production?
Many thanks,
Xibi

hi Xibi,
you can add it in dev and then transport to production, if you have huge data in production, then the transport process make take long time.
if you want historical data for that new field then you need to reupload in production.

hope this helps.

  • Very urjent (What is the procedure for adding a table documentation to IMG)

    Hi abapers,
    It was very urjent,
What is the procedure for adding a table documentation to IMG entries.
(It does not have "deletion" information, but there is a section on making changes to Z tables and then updating the IMG, which presumably could be expanded for deletion of objects.)
I having the procedure, But that is not clear.
Can any body tell me step by step.
    With regards.

    Hi,
    Assign IMG Documentation
    Prerequisites
You have opened the IMG structure in change mode and created an IMG activity.
    Procedure
Choose the Document tab in the Assigned objects group box.
If you want to create a new document for the IMG activity, enter a name for the document and choose Create.
The name can contain alphanumeric characters and the special character "_".
You go to the text editor. Specify a package class when you save the text. You return to the previous initial screen with Back.
To use an existing document, choose the Assign other document pushbutton to the right of the document name. Choose an existing document and choose Copy.
Save the changes with IMG activity  Save.

    Renjith Michael.

  • Procedure for deleting a role which is already in Production

    Hi,
can any one explain me the procedure for deleting a role which is already in production
i want to know procedure for deletion of
    1.single role
    2.composite role
    3.derived role
    4.parent role
    thanks,
    SSSS

    Hi,
Role deletion must be done in development box and the deletion must be transported to quality and productuion
For single and derrived roles create the transport request and delete the role and transport the deletion.
For Deletion of parent role: you cannot delete the parent role unless all the derrived roles within it are deleted.
To avoid the transport of user assignment make sure PRGN_CUST is set to 'NO' value for the parameter USER_REL_IMPORT.

  • Procedure for adding ssd to i7 mini

I am adding a 256gb SSD to a new i7 2.6Ghz Mini. I have the drive, tools and ribbon connector plus the video instructions.
I plan on keeping the Apple 1tb drive in place, so the current OS will be there. I will also expand the RAM to 16gb.
What I am unsure about is the recommended procedure to move the OS entirely to the SSD and set it up as the boot drive. Any help would be appreciated.

Other World Computing links to this information in the fine print on their 2012 Mini Data Doubler Kit video page.
Looks like it applies directly to my circumstances ... I guess the real question is what makes more sense, to run the SSD as a fast boot drive and the 1TB as on board storage or try to create a Fusion Drive with a bigger SSD than Apple provides. Fusion benchmarks looked pretty good, so will give that some consideration. Thanks All.
The “Fusion Drive” option for the 2012 Mac minis can cause some severe data loss if you’re not careful. It’s a bit of a “perfect storm,” but it’s worth noting if you’re adding an SSD as a second drive in your Mac mini.
This particular instance affects you only if:
You are upgrading a 2012 Mac mini.
That 2012 Mac mini shipped with Mac OS X 10.8.2
You are adding an SSD to this Mac mini as a second drive, alongside the existing Hard Drive using anOWC Data Doubler Kit.
If your installation involves all three factors, then you need to pay attention, as your installation will be affected. If one or more of these factors are not involved, then you don’t have to worry, you can proceed as normal. If you are one of the affected Mac mini owners, then installing an SSD is a little different. The preferred method is the “Internet Restore” method. Perform the following steps in order to format your SSD and transfer your OS and data from your original drive.
Make sure your data is backed up, just to be safe.
Install your SSD in your Mac mini, following the instructions.
Restart your computer and boot to the internal hard drive like normal.
You will likely get a dialog box stating that a drive is “unreadable.” Click the “Initialize” button to open Disk Utility. If you don’t get this warning, you can find Disk Utility at Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.app
Select the SSD from the list on the left side of the Disk Utility window and Click on the Partition tab.
Select “1 partition” for the Volume Scheme, set the format to “Mac OS Extended (Journaled)” and give the drive a name. You can then click the “Apply” button to format the drive.
Once the drive is formatted and shows in the Finder, you can then shut down.
Make sure you’re connected to a network. While it’s preferable that you connect via Ethernet, you canconnect via AirPort; it will just be slower.
Restart to the OS X Recovery Partition by holding down Command-R until you get the Recovery Partition’s main window. It is very important to note that you should not use the version of Disk Utility in the Recovery Partition; it will see the two separate drives as a “damaged” Fusion drive and try to repair it; allowing it to do so will destroy your data.
Select the option to “Reinstall OS X” choosing the SSD to install the OS on. If you’re connecting via AirPort, you may be prompted to connect to your wireless network.
Follow the prompts to install. The actual downloading and installation process may take a while.
After the OS is installed, follow the prompts to set up your computer. When asked, choose the option to import your data from another drive and select your original drive as the source.
Once the migration is complete, your computer should boot to your SSD.
You can use the Disk Utility like you did before and format your original hard drive as desired.
You will now be able to use your Mac mini normally.
While the above method is the preferred way to do this, if you do not have an Internet connection, you won’t be able to reinstall your OS this way. In this instance, you will need to use the “External” method.
Install your SSD in an external enclosure (USB or FireWire) and connect it to your Mac mini.
    Boot to your Hard Drive.
Restart to the OS X Recovery Partition by holding down Command-R until you get the Recovery Partition’s main window.
Enter Disk Utility – since the SSD is in an external enclosure, you don’t need to worry about Disk Utility trying to create a Fusion drive.
Click on the SSD in the list on the left and select the Restore tab. Drag the original drive’s icon from the left onto the “Source” field. Do the same with the SSD into the “Destination” field.
Click the Restore button to copy all your data over to the SSD, then shut down.
Restart holding down the Option key. Select the SSD/External drive as your boot drive and continue.
Use the Disk Utility in Applications/Utilites to format your hard drive as desired.
Shutdown, remove your SSD from the external enclosure, and install it in your mini.
Once the SSD is installed, you should restart the mini and login. Go to to the Startup Disk preference pane and select your SSD as your boot drive.
You can now use your Mac mini normally.
No matter which method you use, once you have both an SSD and a platter-based drive installed in your Mac mini, you should not use the Disk Utility in your Recovery Partition on those drives; it will see those drives as a “broken” Fusion array and try to repair it, destroying your data in the process.

  • Need best procedure for adding new start-up disc and keeping all original data.

We are adding a new (bigger)SATA drive to our 8-core Xeon Mac Pro and would like to clone the original startup disk to the new drive and use it to boot from.
If you know of the best and surefire way to do this and not have any permission issues or any issues please advise.

    B. use the big drives for media folders, libraries, data
    C. use smaller fast drive for system - $110 will buy a 1TB WD Black or Samsung 830 SSD, $150 will buy a 10K 250GB VR

  • Reinit/Reload for added/changed fields in PO line item and GL ODS

    Hi all,
Probably this is usual process in SAP BW.
I have changed 2Lis_item data source and added few fields in 0Pur_o1 ods.
In ods there is data from 2006 to till date.
Now I have to move my changes to Production system. I have to delete and reload compele data again then only I will get values for added fields.
Similar way I have changed 0fi_gl datasource and added few new fields in GL field.
What is the best approach I should follow to get all history data with all new values and start delta ?
    thanks

    Ok,
    Just do this:
You've your GL ODS with data from 2006, 2007 and 2008.
    You've deltas running.
Before transporting your changes to productive run all the deltas.
    Then transport your changes.
After that if you want the history to be updated with your changes you should delete your delta and create a new one without any data (delta init without any data). That should mark the flag init from that point.
This means the next delta will bring any changes created from that new init to front. To load the history you can do full repairs until you have load all your data.
    Diogo.

  • Error in Release procedure for PO

    Hi
I have created a release procedure for Purchase groups and plants. But now I want to add a new Purchasing group to the same strategy. How to do this.

    Hi Garapati,
Release strategy is configuration in customisation screen. Do not merely do assignment of object via CL20N or CL24N. Though assigning the object would work, but is better to do it in customisation.
    Go to this path: -
SPRO>IMG>Materials Management>Purchasing>Purchase Order>Release Procedure for Purchase Orders>Define Release Procedure for Purchase Order (Execute)-->Release Strategies
Go to: Position>Identify the Group> Identify the Release Strategy code
(How to know what is the release strategy code? In the PO where a release strategy for this value and characteristic is triggered, you can go to the Header-->Release Strategy tab, you would be able to see that the release strategy is triggered. Simply remember the release strategy code. If you already know the code, ignore this step)
When the search is complete and located the right release strategy that you want to amend, select it and click on Details.
Inside, go to Classification. Check that this release strategy contain the characteristic that you want to amend. You would be able to see the Characteristic "Purchasing Group" already maintained. Click on Purchasing Group line and click on "Add rows" icon below, then key in the the Purchasing Group value that you want to add.
Hit Back, and then Save this customisation.
Now, the PO release strategy will trigger the Purchasing Group you just added if the PO details entered matched the Purchasing Group, Plant and Document Type value that you maintained for this release strategy.
    Hope this helps.

  • Process for adding a boolean option to the web service API

    Hey guys,
    Here's a little background:
I'm currently working on adding an optional "strict" mode to some of the unmarshalling functions in SchemaMarshaller that will throw exceptions when receiving bad data for certain fields, and also improving the date handling while I'm at it (I want null instead of mangled dates when receiving bad data when strict mode is off).
This is for my benefit at the moment as I'm tired of spending time debugging Flex code when XFire and Oracle are spitting out rubbish (like empty xsd:DateTime nodes, DateTimes in xsd:Date nodes, etc) - but I'm sure other people would like to use it too while we don't have a response validator, so I'd like to do it in a way that I can submit as a feature request (with patch) on Jira.
My questions are about the procedure for stuff like this- where should this option be made public in the API, and who would I talk to about it? Or would it be best for it to always be strict? - That's how I'd like it :) Perhaps it should just log errors when it encounters bad data?
This is the first thing I'd like to "add" to the SDK rather than a simple bug-fix, so I just want to do things in a kosher manner. Sorry if I come across like a total noob :)
    Cheers,
    -Josh

Hey Josh,<br /><br />I'm swamped at the moment but appreciate your interest and your<br />contributions to Flex and WebServices thus far. I'll try and get some<br />time to look into your specific request and what you're hoping to do at<br />the code level, but to answer your question about test cases, you should<br />consider the NIST testsuite for XML Schema datatypes.<br /><br />BlazeDS has historically maintained the WebService implementation, so it<br />appears their test case for NIST based schema tests starts out here (and<br />refers to many data type test cases in the /nist subdirectory).<br /><br />http://opensource.adobe.com/svn/opensource/blazeds/branches/3.0.x/qa/app<br />s/qa-regress/testsuites/flexunit/src/tests/flexunit/xml/NISTXMLSchemaTes<br />t.as<br /><br />Pete <br /><br />________________________________<br /><br />From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Josh<br />McDonald<br />Sent: Tuesday, July 08, 2008 8:21 PM<br />To: [email protected]<br />Subject: Re: Process for adding a boolean option to the web service API<br /><br /><br />A new message was posted by Josh McDonald in <br /><br />Developers --<br />  Process for adding a boolean option to the web service API<br /><br />Yeah I knew it'd have to be somewhere outside of SchemaMarshaller, as<br />it's [ExcludeClass] anyway so end users don't see it, nor is it<br />documented in the api docs. Just wasn't sure where it should be. I'll<br />have a think about it some more when I get some down time to work on it,<br />but webservice was where I was thinking it should be too. Didn't think<br />about having it settable on operation as well though, so thanks for that<br />:)<br /><br />Anybody know a good source of valid values for various XSI types (date<br />and DateTime mainly) for testing purposes? Or even who I should contact<br />to get access to that sort of thing? I assume the W3C will take 6 months<br />to answer me, and the answer will be "buy our $10,000 compliance testing<br />suite" or something along those lines.<br /><br />-Josh<br /><br />On Wed, Jul 9, 2008 at 9:46 AM, Matt Chotin <[email protected]><br />wrote:<br /><br /><br />     A new message was posted by Matt Chotin in<br />     <br />     Developers --<br />      Process for adding a boolean option to the web service API<br />     <br />     I think for a top-level user option I would put the new option<br />on the mx.rpc.soap.Operation class (I think that's the name).  You'd<br />then have that propagate through to the underlying schema classes as<br />they are used.  I'd then also add an option to the WebService class<br />itself, and basically in the Operation it should see if it has its own<br />value set and if not check the value on the WebService.  We do this for<br />a couple of other flags too I think.<br />     <br />     End users in general wouldn't look at any classes other than the<br />WebService and maybe the Operation classes, so asking them to set<br />options on the schema classes themselves probably wouldn't work.<br />     <br />     Matt<br />     <br />     <br /><br /><br /><br />-- <br />"Therefore, send not to know For whom the bell tolls. • With classification release procedure for PO

    Dear Experts ,
here one issue is with classification release procedure for PO
    when I create characteristics
    in Additional data
table name :-- Cekko field name  :-- match code
    enter
click all sec charars then which block I select to go next screen
and fill name is right or ?
    please help me

    hi,
in additional data field you have to give the field name of characteristic you are maintaining. like if you want to maintain characteristic as document type of the PO then we have to give the field name for document type mentioned in table CEKKO i.e. BSART.
then you have to do the value assignment. here you have to tick the check box for "NOT READY FOR INPUT".

  • Pricing procedure for Credit Memo request WITHOUT reference

    Dear friends,
I have come across a requirement where credit memo request has to be created without reference to preceding document. i.e. for just giving some credit to customer may be for over pricing or giving some credit to customer (as to maintain good relation).
So generally we have different pricing procedure for Cr/Dr process.
thus i have different pricing procedure for Cr/Dr process than normal sales process.
here i have copied pricing procedure of normal sales and added extra condition type for manual pricing, which overrides basic pricing condition type.
but calculate the discount and taxes on the manual price.
I would like to know whether discounts and taxes condition type's should be used
in the cr/dr process without reference to preceding document. and suggest me the right condition types to be used in cr/dr pricing procedure without reference.
    Thanks.

    HI,
Remove all the other condition types from the procedure and keep only those which you need.
    Regards

  • I've had this iPad computer thing for a few months now. I used to just put in my password when I downloaded an app or such like. Now it wants me to set up 4 further questions and answers "for added security". How can I return to the old system?

I've had this iPad thing for a few months. It used to just ask me for my password, but now it is demanding I set up four questions and answers for
"added security". I don't want to do that, I just want to carry on as I was but the machine is preventing any app downloads etc.
Seems the stupid machine is in control.
How do I get it to listen when I threaten it with a good thrashing and a one way trip to the garbage unless it does what I say?
    Thanks

You may have no need for additional but Apple does. They don't want your iTunes account to be hacked and then go complaining to them that their security procedures are not up to standards.
    Chick3597 wrote:
So how can I continue in the good old fashioned way?
Its really absurd to even ask this in light of the information that you have been given already. The "old fashioned" way is gone. It's Apple's store, Apples's rules and IMO - its a wise decision on Apple's part.
You do not have to comply at all, but you will not be able to purchase from iTunes anymore, but nobody is going to force you to do something that you do not want to do.
