Procedure for CIF - Quota arrangement Managed materials

Dear Forum members,
While creating an integration model for the materials which has got a quota arrangement (say 50 % to prod.version 1 and 50 % to
prod.version 2) in ECC for which  the demand has to get splited 50 % to each of the production version does CFM1 nd CFM2 alone
is sufficient? If not how to address the same in APO?
Please give me some sugesstions on the same.

I have made the changes for the valid to date of the quota arranegment setting in/SAPAPO?SCC_TQ1 as
explained by you.But when I create an order in /SAPAPO/RRP3 still the system is creating only for the first
production version(PDS).
I have given some requirement in /SAPAPO/RRP3 and also tried to take a heuristic run
through /SAPAPO/SNP01 ,but again i'm getting only 1 planned order,can you please help me regarding this
issue.
Correct me where I'm wrong.

         Follow the below steps for Quota Arrangement:
            1. Specify quota usage key in material master purchasing/ MRP 2 view
            2. Select source list checkbox in mat. master purchasing view
            3. Maintain Info record & source list for the 3 vendors
            4. For splitting quota which is possible only in case of MRP, select lot sizing procedure with split quota marked in customizing
            5. Maintain quota MEQ1 for the 3 vendors with material & plant on initial screen, then enter validity period
            6. Select line & enter procure type, vendor & quota as 5,3 & 2
    Finally save quota

    Quota Arrangements :
    In simple words: Distributing the requirements quantity between potential source of suppliers (Vendors) - basing on their order fulfillment capacity.
    In business terminology:
    Quota arrangements allow you to define target percentages and distribute them between two or more purchasing contracts. A quota arrangement ensures that a contract is guaranteed both a minimum sales volume and a percentage of the total purchasing volume of the product category or product. A quota arrangement has the highest priority in the sourcing process.
    Quota Arrangements
    Quota Arrangements means a mechanism enabling the system to compute which source of supply to assign to a requirement for a material.
    If a material can be obtained from various sources of supply, each individual source of supply can be allocated a quota arrangement. The quota arrangement is valid for a certain period of time and specifies exactly how the receipts are to be distributed amongst each source of supply.
    We can set the quota arrangement for in-house production as well as for external procurement. Setting quotas permits the automatic apportionment of a total material requirement over a period to different sources.
    Sources of supply can be:
    - an individual vendor or outline agreement
    - another plant, from which material should be procured
    - a production version
    Quota Arrangement Usage
    The quota arrangement facilitates the determination of the applicable sources of supply for the following at a certain time.
    Purchase orders
    Scheduling agreement delivery schedules
    Planned orders
    Purchase requisitions
    Materials planning and control
    In customizing activity, we specify for each material master record which quota arrangement rule is allowed. We group the usage combinations you have chosen under different keys.
    We have to assign quota arrangement usage key to material master record in purchasing or MRP2 view (Maintaining Material Master Record T.Code MM01)
    The quota arrangement usage determines whether a material is included in a quota arrangement and which operations lead to a quota arrangement.
    We have to maintain the quota file for the material. Here we define the sequence of the sources of supply, the quotas per source of supply and numerous other parameters in the quota file.
    Maintaining the Quota File
    A quota arrangement file consists of quota arrangement records identifying the source (such as a vendor or an internal plant), the validity period, and the quota allocated to each source.
    We can maintain the quota file. Following are the steps for maintaining this file.
    T. Code: MEQ1
    The initial screen for maintaining quota appears.
    Enter the material number and the plant for the material that you want to use to maintain the quota file and choose. The header screen for maintaining quotas appears.
    Enter the Valid to date for the quota arrangement item.
    We can only define continuous validity periods for one material. In the first interval, the system sets the current date in the Valid from field. The Valid from dates of the other intervals are set continuously so that the day after the end date of the last quota item is set as the start date for the next item.
    If we want to work with splitting quota arrangements, we will enter a minimum quantity here.
    Double-click on the item to process.
    The item screen now appears.
    Here we will define the source of supply and other control parameters per item.
    Allocating the source of supply to the quota item determines the procurement type that the procurement proposal receives. Therefore, we can specify via the quota arrangement that, for example, 75% of a material is produced in-house and the other 25% is procured externally.

    I am trying to create LSMW using IDOC method for maintaining quota Arrangment.
    I used the standard Message type LPIEQU. Idoc is getting generated and when i tried to process this IDOC i am getting error "Function module not allowed: BAPI_IDOC_INPUT1".
    I used the process code as "BAPI" in message type LPIEQU configuration in WE20.
    If anyone faced this issue please let me know the reason for the error.

    I have maintained
    lot size ES , quota arrangement = 3 , source list tick in mm master.
    Also maintained source list , quota arrangement.
    Where ever more than one vendor , system generating PR but for those quota arrangement maintained 100% for single vendor , there system not generating PR.
    I know source list is enough for same but i want to give 100 business for some items vendors.
    Please resolve my query at early as possible.

    In T.code OMI4, which is to define a lot size, you see a small check box for split quota. It will be there for short term planning and long term plannng. You need to tick both or atleast one for your lotsize which you use in material master
    Then only it will work.

    Hi Veeranna,
    MEQ1 is used for maintaining Quota arrangement. By maintaining Quota, we can split the requirements based on quota among vendors.
    You need to maintain the vendor and the quota, and procurement type etc. If the material is supplied by the plant then maintain them in PPL.

    it is at the inbound side of R/3 while in CIF i.e.
    u2022 Once the Planned order is created in APO and when it is at the inbound side of R/3 while in CIF u2013 the system will first check in the table(EQUK) against the material and plant whether there is any valid u201CQuota arrangement numberu201D(EQUK-QUNUM) .
    u2022 Then from the table (EQUIP) against the u201CQuota arrangement numberu201D the system needs to calculate the percentage quota(from QUOTE field) of the material concerned against each production version.
    u2022 Finally the Planned order of the material needs to be converted into more than one Planned orders as per the production versions and in the ratio as mentioned in the quota arrangement.
    Actually Functionality exists today in R/3 whereby MRP will generate more than 1 planned order if production version quota arrangements exist. For example if via MEQ1 a quota arrangement exists to split requirements 60-40 between production version 1 and production version 2 then MRP will generate 2 planned orders using the 60-40 split.
    Does this still occur if APO generates the order materials and CIFs it to R/3?

  • Inventory Count for Batch Managed materials - Plant, S.Loc and Batch Wise

    Hi.,
    In the company's current scenario, the printing of batch managed materials are scheduled under 3 Job names.
    1. First job determines the materials/batches that need to be created today using Program RM07ICN1
    2. Second Job Processes the BDC Session created by Program RM07ICN1 using Program: RSBDCSUB
    3. Third Job prints the Inventory tickts at the appropriate Storage location using Program: RM07IDRU
    Each Job has its own variant.
    The Variant for SL.No 1 is defined w.r.t
    i. Material Type : Two Material types have been defined
    ii. Under selection variable, GIDAT ( Planned count date and GBDAT are flagged.
    Current Analysis:
    A. The inventory documents get printed with Materials as per the cycle counting indicators defined which govern which material has to be currently counted.
    B. Inventory documents are generated for all materials in all the plants and in all the storage locations
    C. Batches for a material number may print on different cycle count documents throughout the year. 
    Customer requirement:
    The inventory documents to print on basis of
    1. Material, Plant and S.Loc.
    This would help in identifying the batches which are currently being counted as well.
    2. Customers requirement is to ensure that all batches are accounted for and will identify any overage of batches since in the current process, they are never reviewed as a whole.
    QUESTION:
    1. How to configure the Customer requriement.
    2. How to configure the Variant/s, if thats the place the configuration has to be done to satisfy the customer.
    3. How to activate the Variant in SE37 after definition in the Step Indicator. Does it activate on execution?
    When i run the Program using SE38 , maintaining options in the Screen ( giving Material, Plant and S.loc), i get the desired list (Batches w.r.t Material,plant.S.Loc). But there is a list of over 150 Batch managed materials and it would not be physically possible to maintain the variant for each each Material,plant,S.loc wise.
    Is there a way to configure the customer requirement/s.

    <b>Customer requrirement is specific, they want a list of Inventory Documents to be generated on basis of Material in each Plant-S.Loc batch wise.</b>
    Then you need to define multiple varinat for the program.
    <b>(a) If i am giving two variants in the same Program name RM07ICN1, how to execute one after after in sequence.
    In testing, I have defined in the " Step", Progran RM07ICN1 with one variant and Program RM07ICN1 with another Variant. But on execution of Program RM07ICN1 thru SE38, the screen defined latter ( second variant screen data ) is displayed.</b>
    You need to define several steps in SM36 transaction for the program using each variant. SE38 you can use only to save your variant data so later you can use this variant in SM36.
    Once you schedule the job with SM36 and release it then it will automatically execute this job as per your criteria (timeline)

    The Purchase requisition is splitting in to two line items based on the demand and assigning the Vendor on it .
    Is it the right way or some thing missing in the configuration

    Hi,
    1) The creation of PR depends upon the lot size you have maintained in the material master record.
    a) If you have maintained lot size as FX (Fixing & Splitting) & the splitting indicator is maintained for the lot size in customizing, then seperate PR will be generated for each vendor maintained in quota, with quantity alloted to the respective vendor as per quota arrangement & delivery date being as per requirement of the material (probably being same for all PRs).
    b) If you are using other lot size (which does not have the splitting indicator) then one PR will be generated for each demand, which will be assigned to the first vendor in line as per quota arrangement. Next PR (probably after next MRP run) will be assigned to another vendor which will be next vendor as per the quota arrangement.
    2) Regarding firming, these PRs will not be firmed automatically. If required, you will have to firm the same manually.

    Create the documents with MI31 Batch Input session
    Post the count with MI34 Batch Input Session
    See the difference in MI37
    MIDO we get to c the physical inventory overview.

    This is a seasonal Business and ABC analysis based on requirements n Consumption doesn't work for this process. Is there any way that we can configure the system in SAP which has the ability to fulfill the following scenario.
    They shud be able to select a % of materials from the storage for every month and that way they shud finish counting all of them at the end of their season. Not based on any criteria, just a part of materials ...

    No,  it will not match, it will create its own document in background.
    Why do you have one created if you dont want to do a selection ?
    You cannot create a document for 1000 materials and then only count 30.
    You either create a document for 30 and count 30 and enter it with MI04, or you dont create a document with SAP, count based on any other paperwork and enter the count as I said with MI09.

    Process Flow
    The mass change process consists of four steps. You navigate between these steps by choosing the Next and Back buttons located at the bottom right-hand corner of the screens.
           1.      Search for contracts
    You search for and select the contracts or the contract hierarchy that you want to change.
    Contracts that have the status Closed cannot be changed.
           2.      Define mass changes
    You specify the changes you want to make.
    You make changes at header data level and at item data level by choosing the relevant change methods. A green tick appears next to each change parameter so that you can see where changes are already active.
    Once you enter this step, the documents you have selected to be changed are locked so that other users cannot make changes to them until you are finished with this process.
           3.      Simulate mass changes
    Here you can perform a trial run of your mass changes. This simulation step is optional.
    We recommend that you perform this step so that you can check how the change methods you have chosen will be processed by the system.
    You receive status messages about the change methods for each contract and can quickly see whether any errors arise in connection with the proposed changes at this stage. From this step, it is easier for you to go back and correct the error than after applying the changes.
    Background processing
    The system processes the changes in the background.
    If there are a large number of contracts to be processed, this step could take some time to complete. In this case, you can leave the transaction so that you can, for example, carry out other tasks in the meantime.
    The system sends you an e-mail once the simulation step is complete. The e-mail contains a link to the relevant screen in the application so that you can return to it when it is convenient for you to do so. If you have left the SRM application, you can only return via this link.
    Here you can see the status of the changes and, if necessary, you can correct any errors by going back to the Define mass changes step.
    The messages that you receive in the simulation step are not confirmation that a change has been performed. They simulate the messages you get after you apply the changes. You must complete the final step of the mass change process and apply the changes before they take effect.
           4.      Carry out mass changes
    Here you apply the changes to the contracts.
    You cannot reverse this step, which is why we advise you to perform the simulation step beforehand.

  • Does T-Lane Duration take priority over Quota Arrangement for SNP Heuristics?

    I have the following scenario setup for SNP Heuristics.
    Source : S1, S2
    Destination : D0
    T-Lanes are All Product valid from years 2012 - 9999
    T-Lane : S1 -> D0 : 0hr Duration
    T-Lane : S2 -> D0 : 144 hr Duration
    Inbound Quota Arrangements at D0 - 100% to Partner Location S2 ( no quota for source S1)
    When I run Location Heuristic in Data View for a demand 2 days from current day, it is sourcing from S1 even though I have 100% Quota arrangement to source it from S2. Is this correct?

    Hi,
    The quota has priority, so S2 should be determined.
    This is what I would do:
    I would check again than the Quota is well mainatined: check the validity period, double check the quota is 100% for S2. You could even recreate the Quota again.
    Check MAT1 for your Material in all the locations S1 & S2.
    Check that your t-lane S2 --> D0 is ok.. not blocked.
    Try to create an Transport Requisitions manually in RRP3 at location D0 and chose source S2.
    If after point 4 you can create manually teh requisition assigning S2, then something is wrong with your Quota. In this case check these threads:

    We are doing job work for our customers. They are also having SAP, so that they are sending the child material through MB1B - 541 mov and receiving the finished goods throug GR against the PO placed on us.
    Now my query is how can i inward the child material inside of our organization and how can i send the finished part to my customer.
    Inward the chils part > Converting to finished part (Activity to be captured)> Send it to customer through invoice.
    What is the SAP standard procedure for the above process..

    Is your system is also SAP.?
    When you receive components in system, you need to take to your stock, may be same material no. or different as per your wish.
    Here actually the components are logically stays with the owner as Subcontractors place.
    Upon receipt of finished good, it will be consumed.
    So both are stand alone system.

  • How to know if a MRP run element is using Quota Arrangement and lot size?

    Two questions:
    A) How to determine if a source is actually pulled from Quota Arrangement?
    I am wondering if there is anyway from ABAP table or from Transaction (i.e. Purchasing Order) in which the source is pulled from a Quota Arrangement?
    We use scheduling agreement, PIR and source list, and as well as Quota Arrangement for our purchasing.
    I just want to know how, from system (table and transaction), to find out the source is from quota, not from PIR or others.
    B) Quota Arrangement still can work properly if lot-size procedure's splitting quota indicator not Checked?
    If my the lot-size procedure which I am using for a material does not activate the splitting quota indicator, it means split quota will not work during MRP run.
    But does this also mean that quota arrangement will not be working for this particular material even if I have create a a quota arrangement object (via MEQ1) for this material?

    If I want to use the split quota, it seems there is some pre-requisite.
    If you go to MEQ1 and press F1's on the "Minimum qty split" column, and you will notice the following message.
    Allocation by quota using splitting quotas is only carried out via a requirement planning run, subject to the following preconditions:
    Through the appropriate entry in the field Quota arrangement usage (on the MRP data screen 2 or Purchasing screen) it must have been specified that a quota arrangement is to be applied in the planning run.
    The indicator for the splitting quota must be set for the the lot-sizing procedure used for materials planning purposes in Customizing.
    Hence, the quota arrangmeent still workable even if the lot-size does not have the spliting quota box checked?
    Indicator: Splitting quota in short-term horizon
    The indicator for splitting is used to determine that in the case of the selected lot size, the quota arrangement is to be applied using the splitting logic.
    Use
    If this indicator has been set, the lot is split up in the planning run according to the following formula:
                                quota for source X
    Quantity for source  X = --------------------- * requirement
                               sum of all quotas

    1. Min Qty splitting - the minimum quantity that a lot must have in order to be apportioned among several sources of supply in the planning run.
    Check whether order qty is more than this min qty.
    2. Also check the valid from and to dates.
