Procedure to make a system Non-Productive

Hello All,
I want to execute the program ZZ_DELETE_CRMPRLS in the R/3 system to delete the entry in the table CRMPRLS since the LOGSYS and LSGUID are wrong in this table and my material replication is failing. Making the system non-productive is pre-requisite for executing this program.
Can you let me know what the procedure to make a system non-productive? I want to execute this program in my quality system. Tried locking out all the dialog users but it is not working.
With Regards
Sathya

I think you have the setting in Scc4 to make client role as production or non production like test, development.
Run Scc4 select the perticular client and then goto change mode and then change the client role.

  • Technical Monitoring one template used for production and non-production system.

    Dear All,
Is there a way to have one template in Solman Technical Monitoring for production system and non-production system with different alerts ? For example if it exceeds a threshold for production system it will trigger red alert or set automatically an incident and if it's non prod system it will go to yellow warning alert ?
    Regards
    Lukasz Goral

    Hi Likasz,
You first create and customize the template, and then assign to a system.
If it was selecting a system and then customizing a template, then may be such functionality makes sense.
So, I don't think that is possible.
Better would be copy the template used for production to non-production and make the adjustment to it.

It is true that the only way to sync your Mac with iCloud is to upgrad.  You need to be running OS X Lion 10.7.2 or higher in order to sync your Mac with iCloud.  At this point, you can upgrade directly to OS X Mountain Lion from the version of OS X you are now running (10.6.8).   You can purchase and download the Mountain Lion upgrade from the Mac App Store for $19.99.  After upgrading you will see iCloud in System Preferences.  This guide explains how to sync your Mac with iCloud after upgrading: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html.
Once all your devices are signed into the same iCloud account and you have turned on your iCloud data syncing, you will be able to keep them all in sync using iCloud.  You will still have to sync with iTunes to manage your iTunes media such as music, movies, podcasts, etc.  You will have the option to either continue backing up automatically with your computer when you sync with iTunes, or to back up your iOS devices automatically to iCloud every 24 hours (as long as they are connected to wifi and your chargers).

  • How to make a BW system non-modifiable?

    Hello,
How do i do that? Also what if i have to keep only the infopackages open for creation?
    Regards,
    aby

    Hello Abhijit
To make a SAP BW system non-modifiable you have to do at least the following:
    1. TCODE SCC4 --> double-click on your client --> Changes and transports for Client-specific Objects should be set to “No changes allowed”.
    2. TCODE SE06 --> click on System change option (you have to have the necessary authorization, or else you can not see the button at top) --> Set the global settings to non-modifiable (Be careful here: <b>a.</b> Software Component <i>"LOCAL"</i> has to have the status modifiable – read more about it in the section about transports on help.sap.com. <b>b.</b> I will suggest that you take a snap shot of your settings before changing them to non-modifiable.)
    3. Regarding your question about InfoPackages I will suggest that you watch Luis Orama's e-learning session about BW transports on this site. But a quick answer to your question is that this is possible.
TCODE RSOR (Transport Connections) --> Click on "Object Changeability".
    Good luck

  • Setting client role in non-production systems

In our QA test systems of R/3 and BW, the client role  in SCC4 was set to 'Production'. The reason I was given is that  by setting the client role to 'Production', will enable some settings in FI such as period closing, and customizing settings remain open  without transportable requests. I totally disagree with this. I worked on numerous projects, but this is first time I am hearing this. I always set client role to Test in non-production systems, without any problems. Do any one have  any idea about this?
    Thanks
    Santosh

SAP have a concept of "current settings".  These include things like exchange rates and other items which really appear to be configuration settings.  In a non-modifiable system these cannot be changed because the transport management system tries to get involved.  If the client is set to productive, this restriction is overridden.
I would always suggest that the QA system should be set to productive and non-modifiable to ensure that the behaviour of the transactions affecting such objects can be tested in a production-like environment.  If you need to have your QA system open for any sort of changes you are exposed to having changes introduced in QA to leading to the impression that new/modified functionality or config works but when the transport takes the unmodified version to production you'll be in trouble.

  • SAP_ALL in non-productive systems

    Hello SAP Security Administrators,
I have been searching (without success) for documentation or posts for a SAP security best practice for who should or should not have the profile SAP_ALL in a non-productive system.  Is this typically left up to the individual company security policies?  Is it a given that Basis will have SAP_ALL for administrative support?  Are Security Admins allowed to have elevated privs in a non-productive system for research and troubleshooting?
We are trying to establish a standard for non-productive systems, so any input would be greatly appreciated!
    Regards,
    Janice

I do not think there are real standards. Personally I consider using SAP_ALL a sign of utter lazyness because there is never a person who needs to access all functionallity in an ERP system.
The only valid occasions I know to use SAP_ALL is during upgrades but even then it's not a guarantee against surprises.
You are talking about non productive systems but that does not exclude systems with production data, something to consider.
    Some thoughts:
Do you want people to influence developments and/or transports if that is not their task?
Do you want pepole to see sensitive testdata just copied from production?
Do you really think your system/landscape configuration will be safe if you have to rely on agreements? Transport routes for instance?
SAP_ALL is something I only allow in sandbox systems and only if they're being backupped at least weekly. That is to avoid heavy discussions when people destroy each others work by curiously hitting buttons and 'trying' transactions.
I am sure some others will have a few suggestions to add

  • EWA for non-productive Systems

    Hi all,
is there a possibility to get Early Watch Alerts for Systems in a Solution, which are not marked as productive.
I don't want to create many solutions.
The same problem i have with the monitoring, I only see the productive in the monitoring overview.

Yes, it's possible to have all systems (Prod, Dev, QA, ...) within one solution and to have EWA activated.
You need to choose "Put in Solution" from the context menu. See screen shots attached.

  • Monitoring availability  - Different action for Production/Non-production

    Hi there,
We've configured availability monitoring on our central monitoring system using CCMSPING agent. Everything is configured correctly and working nicely. However, I have a problem how to take a different action depending on whether alert was raised for production or non-production system.
I've configured an autoreaction method for MTE class Availability_SysPercent_ABAP. This class is not dependent on the remote system. It is the same for all monitored systems, which is the reason for my problems.
If I assign an autoreaction method to the MTE class, the same method will be called if there is an alert for any of the monitored systems. The autoreaction method automatically logs a new ticket in our call handling system. Unfortunately the call handling system can't parse the email to find out which system was the alert generated for. It can only raise a ticket based on some keywords in the content of the email.
The way we configure CCMS for everything (apart from availability) is that we assign different autoreaction methods to different MTE classes. It can't be done in this case as there is only one MTE class. We can't assign different autoreaction method to individual MT elements as this is lost (see note 660126). One of the options could be to change CCMSPING to generate a different MTE class for production and non-production systems, but I haven't found a way of doing it. Another option was to have 2 CCMSPINGs, but they both use the same MTE class.
Has anyone got any experience with this or can suggest anything we can try?
    Thanks,
    Rob

    Hi,
    Its still available.
You can still assign different method to nodes.
Its working fine , we are using.
You can assign different method to different systems in RZ20  itself.

  • Can DPM share a remote SQL Instance with other System Centre Products?

Firstly, apologies if this has been answered elsewhere but I can't seem to find a definitive line on it.
I am about to install and start implementing DPM 2012 R2 and have restricted access to SQL instances and the creation of. Can DPM share a SQL instance? Mainly can it share an instance shared with other System Centre products?
Does it really need a dedicated DB engine and Reporting services instance?

    Hi,
No, Each DPM server requires it's own dedicated instance name.  You can have a single remote SQL server, but with seperate instances for each DPM server, or other System Center products.
Make sure that names of your instances does not contains an underscore in the instance name.

  • How to record non productive time

    dear expert:
for our analysis we are recording non productive time in the shop floor and respective cause against it to find an analysis for root cause. is there any way to do the same in SAP. please suggest.
    best regards

    Dear ,
I am not sure wether there is a direct solution available. But I am sharing my views .
I think you should have Time Management System  under SAP HCM  and this will be based on the Work Centre Level Time booking against each order .
Generally , in our case , we have Shop Floor Order Print out (this is SAP generated form )  under Production  Supervisour who collects the Actual Production Hr booking  , Break time etc and posted through Shift Wise Confiramtion under ECC 6.0 Package Solution 3.0  and then every month , this Time hrs are compared with  Time Management System report from HCM so that actual loss of hrs based on employee numbers , can be identifed and pictorial effience can be drawn.

  • I need materials for SAP SRM  NPP(Non production procurement)

Please provide materials for SAP SRM NPP, General ideas about it.
    regards,
    George.

    Salut George,
in general, all items that a business procures which directly end up in the production process are acquired through "production procurement". Examples for production marerial or "direct" material are raw materials, or fuel/energy for the producing machines.
The abbreviation NPP for the (too) short cut Non-Production Procurement refers to procurement of so-called "non-production materials and services", also known as "indirect procurement". What "non-production" is depends on the company that produces. Here some examples:
At Xerox, the copy machine maker, NPP "covers all purchases of supplies other than supplies used in the actual production of copying machines. Thus, all office supplies, from desks and personal computers to pencils and stationary comes under the category of non-production procurement." {you can probably find the source via google}.
Resources, when not directly involved in the manufacturing process, such as engineers, product designer, quality inspectors, and administrators, may be referred to as non-production labor. Again, it depends on the production process of the company! The procurement of these resources may be seen as non-production procurement as well.
I hope this helps. Best regards,
    Andreas

  • "Program terminated in remote system NONE: Logon failed" when adding a new table

    Hello,
I set up a replication flow from a SAP ERP 6.0 EHP7 with SAP ASE 16.0 source to SAP HANA 1.0 rev 82 target
I am using a standalone SLT system NetWeaver 7.0 with DMIS 2011_1_731 (with SP 1 to 7).
I have 100 tables to replicate.
I succeeded to set up replication for 57 tables. These tables are replicating properly.
Whenever I try to add a new one (with LTRC transaction, Data Provisioning -> Start Replication), the new table is marked as 'Failed' after a little while.
When I press 'Show Error Log' button I got an obscure error message:
"Program terminated in remote system NONE: Logon failed "
I do not understand this message. I checked both on SAP ASE source and SAP HANA target. I am still able to connect against both source and target.
Can you please tell how to troubleshoot this error.
    Thanks in advance,
    Christian

First thank you for answering my questions. I really appreciate your answers.
    I rechecked the documentation.
"Application Operations Guide SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server Document Version: 2.3 – 2014-07-08"
    Page 29 - 30
    3.5.2.2 Data Transfer Jobs
This section explains the relationship between the number of data transfer jobs and the number of available background work process.
Data transfer and data transformation processing on SLT server system is accomplished by the background work processes of the underlying SAP NetWeaver ABAP application server. Each job occupies 1 background work process in the SAP LT Replication Server system. For each configuration, the parameter Data Transfer Jobs restricts the maximum number of data load job for each mass transfer ID (MT_ID). In total, a mass transfer ID (MT_ID) requires at least 4 background jobs to be available:
 One monitoring job (master job)
     One master controller job
 At least one data load job
 One additional job either for the migration objects definition, access plan calculation or to change configuration settings in the Configuration & Monitoring Dashboard
    Example
If you set the parameter Data Transfer Jobs to 04 in a configuration “SCHEMA1”, a mass transfer ID 001 is assigned. As a result, the following jobs should be in the system:
    1 Master controller job: /1LT/IUC_REP_CNTR_001
     At most 4 parallel jobs for MT_ID 001: /1LT/IUC_LOAD_MT_001_001/~002/~003/~004
When configuring your data load or replication scenario, consider the following:
 Do not define more data transfer jobs than the number of available application server background work processes. If all available background work processes are already occupied by jobs, any other job will have to wait until a free work process becomes available. This can lead to long wait times until a new activity (for example creating triggers) can start, and can also result in significantly increased latency times for data replication.
 The number of dialog work processes in the source system corresponds 1:1 with the number of data transfer jobs in the SAP LT Replication Server system.
 Besides the work processes allocated by the data transfer jobs you need to provide additional available work processes for controller and monitoring jobs, the migration objects definition, access plan calculation or to perform configuration changes, and so on.
Sizing for SAP LT Replication Server involves determining how many work processes are required to perform the initial load of data into the target system within an acceptable timeframe, and accomplish the change capturing and the transfer of data changes to the target system within expected latency times.
Ensure that you add enough additional work processes to allow other required SAP LT Replication Server jobs to run.
Finally, you map the number of required application server work processes to their system resource consumption (CPU, memory, disc space) using the formulas provided by the SLT Sizing Guide.
With the simple formula below, you can calculate the number of required application server work processes (WPs) on the SLT Server for each active SLT configuration.
The number of required work processes can be determined by adding
 The Number of required data transfer jobs ,
 plus one background work process for Central Master (Monitoring) Job (only one per system!),
 plus one background work process for Master Controller Job,
 plus 3-5 additional empty background work processes (recommended per configuration),
 plus approx. 3 dialog work processes (recommended for each configuration).
Note: A lack of available free application server work processes can negatively affect the data load or data replication processes.
To summarize everything, the number of 'Data Transfer Jobs' must be set depending of the number of source tables, it is not the actual number of tables.
Assume that for my 100 tables I use 10 'Data Transfer Jobs' :
    - The number of work processes on the SLT server would be 20. I took the simple formula of the documentation:
    10 data transfer jobs ,
+ 1 background work process for Central Master (Monitoring) Job (only one per system!),
+ 1 background work process for Master Controller Job,
+ 5 additional empty background work processes (recommended per configuration),
+ 3 dialog work processes (recommended for each configuration).
    - The number of dialog processes on the source server would be 10 ( equal to the number of 'Data Transfer Jobs')
    Am I correct ?
    Regards,
    Christian

Can I run my MacBook Pro Late 2008 without battery forever? Is it bad in long term or anything? Does it make the system less stable?
My battery got swollen (and I unfortunately noticed it very late and might have be running with it for months, which potentially explains all the crashes everyday and the trackpad not working anymore, the Apple test also says I have a bar of ram broken...) and I had to remove it because the back pannel did not close anymore... Can I still use my MBP normally forever that way? I was planning on buying a new mac anyway but maybe waiting for the next iMac upgrade in the year... Should I wait?

Other than the system shutting down instantly if you have a power outage, whcih could corrupt the OS. Nothing else bad will happen.
