Hi,
Is there a table in BW that stores the process chain name and IP's in it. We need to find the names of process chains based on the Info package names.

There will be process chains Like local process chain and Meta chain.
Process chains for M.Data, T.data etc.,
How many process chains:- that depends upon the project . normally process chains are used for data loads, so it depends on data also....we have 60 process chains entire for our project.

Process chain in BW for specific day starting programm in ERP

Hi guys,
I have created a process chain in BW which works fine.
Now I have to think about to include a step in this process chain which starts for one specific day one program in ERP.
When this program in ERP is finished with updating data the process chain should continue and then the ERP data should be uploaded in BW.
For example. Every 10th of a month a program in ERP should be started for the last day of the month before (for example 31.1.11). The program runs about 7 hours. When the program is finished the process chain shoul continue.
Is that possible to handle with process chains?

Hi,
1. Make your existing chain as local chain.
2. Create a process chain PC1 with a start variant and add above local chain.
3. Schedule PC1 every day and restrict it not to run on 10th day of every month.
4. Create a program or function module in ECC to execute your logic.(last day of last month as range).
5. create a event in ECC.
6. create a back ground job with step1 as program and step2 as event created in step 5.
7. Create process chain PC2 in BI with start variant with event created in step 5.
8. schedule the back ground job created in step 6 in ecc to run on evry 10th day of the month.
If you do not want 2 pcs you can create only one PC based on variant from ECC. Add lIF condition in your ECC program
to check if it is 10th of the month or not. If it 10th day execute your logic else complete the program with out executing any logic.
so that back ground job will trigger step 2 (which is event) which will inturn trigger BI load.

Check the table RSPCCHAIN.
I mean, Use Table RSPCCHAIN and give the local chain tech name in VARIANTE field and search, in out put you will get meta chain name under the field CHAIN_ID.

What would the best process chain look like for this MD data load scenario?

Hi there,
I have the following setup. SAP BW connection to external system via DBConnect (DB2 database).
We have 73 master data text data sources to load either once a week or everyday through process chain. We have not decided on the exact schedule yet.
All the master data text DataSources pull data from the SAME VIEW created on the DB2 external system:
VWDEDMASTERDATA
The structure of the view is the following:
DEDNAME
DEDNAMETYPE
DEDNAMECODE
DEDNAMEDESC
DEDNAMELONGDESC
So, everytime master data text is extracted for all the 73 objects it queries the same view over and over again VWDEDMASTERDATA. We only differentiate in the datasource on the FIELDS tab which InfoObject should DEDNAME map to and then in InfoPackage we filter on the exact object/field to query.
So essentially, every time we run InfoPackage for master data text object the external system gets queried in the following way:
SELECT * from VWDEDMASTERDATA where DEDNAME = [FIELD/InfoObject specified in InfoPackage]
So, if I have to have all 73 objects loaded, essentially the same SQL statement has to execute 73 times. In this scenario, what would be the proper process chain setup that has perfomance in mind? How should the InfoPackages be arranged, in parallel, sequentially, how many in a row, etc?

I don't think you can change the technical name of a process chain. Copy the existing process chain into a new one and delete the old one.
Copy process chain
Transaction RSPC -> Double click on process chain-> type "COPY" in transaction area
Delete Process chain
Transaction RSPC -> Double click on process chain-> Shift-F2 ( or from menu -> Process chain -> Delete).

Seeburger mapping name required for ASN

I am trying to use the Seeburger AS2 adapter to send ASN (Advance shipping notification) to our partners.
The format of the EDI file is EANCOM2002. I want the standard Seeburger mapping name which will convert from xml to EDI EANCOM2002 format for ASN message.

If you are expecting the naming conventions for SEEBURGER Mapping (BIC Mapping designer) here are few .Let me know if they are useful.
ADOPTED NAMING CONVENTIONS
1 - For Application Rules:
DOCUMENT_APLLICATION_DIRECTION_DATA (FILE EXTENSION FOR REFERENCE)
Length for each:
Document = 3 Samples of: PUR, POC, POA, ASN, TXT
Application = 4 Samples of: RECL, SOMS, HRMS, CORP, COMS, CONT
Direction = 1 Samples of: I or O
Data = 3 Samples of: DAT, XML, RPT
NOTE: Since spaces are not allowed in the names, S will be used as filler .
Sample Application Naming:
For 824 for Banking doc TXT_CORP_I_RPT
General Rules:
1- IF mapping is the same with HRMS & COMS
 THEN Use CONT for Application
 ELSE Use HRMS or COMS (which ever is appropriate)
2- IF document is the same for the entire corporation
 THEN Use CORP as the Application
3- IF Generic
 THEN No Suffix is required
 ELSE Trading Partner Specific maps add the suffix
For Trading Partner specific rules, add the Name extension to the end of the rule.

Process chain Name (description)

when i have transported my existing PC (added few processes at the end) from DEV to Q, the PC name (disappeared) in both DEV and Q. How this could happen ? the Technical name (object name) is there on rt side, but the desc is missing.
Secondly, the processes shows me all the details in the chain display itself. (like cube name, variant name, etc.. which otherwise should have been hiding)
Can you pls help me ?

create a Display component fo your pc or save it in an existing Display component .....
PC->Attribures->Display component ....then save & refresh
The pc name & description should appear if its active...

Netbios name required for Windows 7 clients to connect?

I upgraded my production server to Lion tonight.
My Windows 7 test machines (all standalone -- no AD here) now need to log into the server with the netbios name of the 10.7 server as part of the login:
ie, instead of "maser" as the User Name
it now requires "<netbiosname>\maser" as the User Name
Everything works, but that futz's up the pass-through authentication I had set up for the Win7 users whom I had just set their Windows account/password combination to match the 10.6 server account/password combination.
(smb://<server> from the Mac side doesn't care about the netbios name…)
Any suggestions on what might need to be tweaked in com.apple.smb.server.plist?

User Exit/BADI name required for changing schedule lines (VA01 and VA02)

Hi all,
Please tell me an exit or badi for modifying VBEP date i.e. VBEP-EDATU which triggers for a change in any of the following fields:
1. VBAK-KUNNR; 2. VBAK-VDATU and 3. VBAP-WERKS
Currently I tried using USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBEP and FORM USEREXIT_CHECK_VBEP but nothing is giving me the results as desired.
