Process chains related

How to jump manually from one process type to other manually within a process chain.
eg - if i want to bypass some events

Hi,
You can do this by changing status manually through running RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH with the help of RSPCPROCESSLOG
this we can do once the process chain tis running.
Exp. If you want change the status of one process type like DSO Activation which was showing the red in PC.
you can change the status of that step with help above. after changes the next step will automatically start

Error when trying to add remote process chain related to some other system.

Hi Gurus,
I am trying to add process chain related to some other system in BW production through remote process chain but i am getting the issue " :RSM:918 YCPG_WEEK_GESPL_BW APO_DP_RTR DEFINITION 23" while checking or activating the same.i am able to add successfully in quality environment but getting the issue in only in production..I just tried to add some other chains too but i am getting same error for other chains which are related to same system.this means issue is present for all the chains related to that system.
Can you please help me how to resolve the above as it is very urgent for me?.

Connection is working fine.we already checked RFC connection earlier itself.we have not find the same issue in quality environment i.e when we try to trigger same chain in corresponding quality environment it's working fine.where as when we are trying to checking/activate the same chain in production through remote process we are getting the above issue.
Please help me to resolve the issue.

How to add inits to Process Chain

Hello Experts,
I have a process chain with one ODS joining data of two other ODS.
When I ran the chain for the first time everything was fine. But when I ran it a second time the process cain stops updating activated data from the first two ODS into the third one!
I am not sure, maybe this is an init problem.
But I don't know where to check in pc if it uses full, init or delta update!
any suggestions?

simple double--click on the infopackage process type in the chain..it will open up the infopackage change screen..there u can change and save it..
but if u r in production..system will be closed and does not allow u to change infopackages in the chain..
for this u have to goto rsa1--transport connection..click object changeability button..and set 'everything changeable' for infopackage and for some process chain related ones..(dont remember them exactly..sorry)..
please..can u tell where chain is stuck..u said 3rd ods isnt getting data updated into the first 2 ODS's..right..is data updated and activated in first 2 ODS's when run 2nd time..?
please also send steps used in the chain..

List of Info Objects used in a process chain

Hi,
I have a master data process chain and in that process chain, close to about 50 Info objects are included. Rather than checking manually, I would like to know if there is any automated way to get the list of info objects used in a process chain.
Please let me know if there is any table that gives this information.

Problems with BPC Export Transaction Data process chain

Hi everybody,
we are trying to implement the procedure "How to Export BPC Transaction Data using a custom process chain " for SAP BPC NW 7.0 and everything seems fine. However, when we execute it from Excel, the package apparently runs well (the message 'IMMEDIATE RUN: The package is running...' appears) but when we go to the watch the package status, the package does not appear in the list and there is not any file exported.
When we go to watch the log of the process chain from NW, the Modify Dynamically step runs wrongly but there is no clue of what could be done to solve it. We have done it again from scratch but we always have the same error.
Any idea out there?

Hi Rich,
in the end we managed to export data. Our NW administrator created the custom process type wrongly - putting a blank space before ZBPCTXEXP - and now it has been corrected and everything works fine.
Well we have managed to transport applications to one server to another one and to export/import the transactional data.
Is there any doc that explains how to transport process chains from one server to another?
In BPC Opps manual there is not too much information and we should transport quiet a lot of process chains related with Runlogic issues .

BI 7.0 Stats - Is it supposed to install us the Standard Process Chain?

Hi All,
We understand that Virtual Cubes would obtain the real-time based on what is there in the basic cubes, underlying the Technical Content Multicubes.
We did install all the technical content. Is it supposed to install us the Standard Process Chain for BI Statistics as well to transfer the stats data into the Basic Cubes.?
If not, how do we setup the stats loads to the basic cubes easily....?

Hi,
When you install the BI 7.0 stats from teh BI content all the process chains related to it automatically gets installed. But you can see teh correct report only if the DB Stats is uptodate for all the info providers in your system. I mean to say that if all the dataloads to the cube is followed by the DB Stats process only then the coressponding Technical Stats cube gets the correct data. After which you can see teh correct report.
There is no need to create a process chain separately for them. Just you need to keep updating the DB stats for your info providers.

Complex process chain

Hi,
I need to create a process chain based on a event.
From ECC i got a program that sends same event multiple times a day.
The conditions are given below,
1. Process chain must be scheduled to wait for the event.
2. If the event is received between time '020000' and '050000.
    then the proces chain must proceedfurther
   else
   it must not proceed and wait.
can this be achieved via process type ABAP program or any other best possibility?

Ok, I think you probably won't be able to do this with the decision between multiple alternatives. Well, actually you could but it would take some extra work. I've implemented custom formulas where I am and have created some for checking if a chain is active, a process is active, a chain has completed, etc... To get there though you have to first implement custom formulas. it isn't difficult and can be extremely helpful (at least I have found them to be). In case you are interested, here is a link to get you started on that effort (I think it's worth it even if not for this project):

So, while the solution could very well be done using a mix of custom formulas and the decision element it is probably best to simplify and use a custom abap program. You have two choices, do this on the ECC side or on BW side.
If done in ECC:
1) Create log table, or utilize existing one
2) Check table... if event has been raised today, then do not raise event again.
If done in BW:
1) Create a chain where starter uses the even and parameter that will be raised from ECC
2) Create a custom ABAP program that checks if the chain has run yet today. If not, it would raise another event to trigger the chain doing the actual processing. If the chain has run today, the event is not raised.
While ECC side may seem simpler, you would be completely reliant on them not accidentally triggering the chain twice in one day. So i would go with doing it on the BW side. You can definitely check if a chain has run today and also if it has finished successfully. Here is a list of some process chain related tables that you may find useful:

You can also Check in RSM37-> put * in all the fileds ->click on F8 ...give the name of your process chain in the "Selection Value" Column Filter.
You will get all process chain related info there.

Process Chains - Production Support

Hi Gurus,
I have doubt regarding process chains in production support system. Is the consultant who is working on production support on process chains monitoring, how many process chains are assigned to him( maximum). Is all the process chains are related to application specific, i mean like all the process chain related to SD, FICO, MM, and so on or from any application.

Hi Ramakrishna,
Process Chains can be triggered as Batch Jobs ... After completing the batch Job the consultant checks for any failure in process chain or whether the batch job run successfully or not.
More over Process chains are categorised and triggered based on how much time they are consuming to Load the Data.. normally first Master Data Chains will be triggered and then Transactional Data Chains
So there will not be any count that a Consultant assigned with how many chains in production support, as its totally depends on the Batch Jobs triggered ....

Error related to scheduling of dependencies in process chain

Hi gurus,
2 process chain is dependent on the 1 process chain,unfortunately i was scheduled the 2 pc before the end of 1 pc.
after a while i was realiased that 1 pc was still running,immediately i killed the job related to 2 pc(that job is DELETE INDEXES )
finally i was rescheduled the 2 process chain after the completion of 1 process chain.
1 & 2 are finished successfully.

every body will cancel jobs. It won't problem. may be you are thinking in that process is DELETE INDEXES point of view, this won't be problem. create the indexes again. after the load check DB02 for missing indexes.
check the data consistency for the load(no duplicate recrods).

I guess there is no direct way, but you can get it by following:
1) From table RSREQDONE, you can get infopak name by giving a request no.
2) Then from table RSPCCHAIN, For Type = 'LOADING', VARIANTE field give the Infopackage name and it will give u the PC.

Issues related to process chains

dear gurus,
i hope all are doing great, this is the message regarding the issue with process chain in sap-bw(from application server)
i'm trying to load data from flat file to ods and infocube parallely, i've created the infocube and ods object and i've also created the respective infopackages and copied the name of infopackages.
i've created the process chain and in monitoring i.e. rspcm when i'm adding the process chain the status in not green its a yellow triangle.
apart from that i'm getting an error message saying that- objects have been locked by the sapuser.
please do help me to get rid of this issue.
please do send me the related documents regarding the process chains, that would help me to understand the concept.

Is it possible that if i have schedule some process but due to some problem in server(R/3 )that process are not run ,then it send SMS on some specific users mobile.

What u can do is u have to send the mail alert from the net to ur mobile..

URGENT:Process Chains And events Related

I have created a new process chain which is a normal ODS Process Chain.For that I started with the start Process and then created event in sm62 to trigger the start of process chain.Similarly,I have at the end of the process chain ,I have added 2 ABAP Programs ,one to mark the successful completion of process chain and another to mark the Error or Unsuccessful completion.For these programs,I maintaines Processvariants and here, we have utility Programs.So used the relevant utility program and created a program variant and Events ,One for successful completion of process chain and another to mark the Error or Unsuccessful completion.
But ,Now ,I find that when I trigger the eventin sm64,I find that the process chain is not being run.Is that any problem with the events I created.This is the first i am involved with creation of events in SM62.Can anyone help me in this regard.
Can anyone,tell me thatdo we need to do anything else apart from Creating events .Imean like assigning jobs and then Programs in the Step of that Job.
Please Kindly help me in this regard.It is very very urgent for me.Thank you.Points will be assigned.

I have tried in the same way you have said .I have maintained as after event and activated and scheduled.after that i triggered the event insm64.But still,I am not able to see the Load in RSMO.
I have just checked out in sm37.And found that some jobs have failed.I think this might be the reason for the Process chain to not run.
I am just pasting the error msg and solution.
